Eliza 'Peg' Maunder Yearick
CARLISLE - Eliza "Peg" Maunder Yearick, 91, of Church of God Home, 801 N. Hanover St., Carlisle, formerly of Lewistown, died at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, at the home.
Born Jan. 19. 1911, in Cornwall, England, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Eliza (Philp) Maunder. Her husband, Norman B. Yearick, preceded her in death on Oct. 21, 1989.
Surviving are: a daughter, Elizabeth L. Wian, 406 Pawnee Dr., Mechanicsburg; two sisters, Rhoda Long and Hilda Fultz, both of Lewistown; two brothers, Clifford E. Maunder, Burnham and Alfred J. Maunder, Lewistown; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: a son, Norman B. Yearick Jr.; a brother, Francis J. Maunder; and two sisters, Minnie Huffnagle and Phyllis Speece.
Early in life she worked for the American Viscose Corp., and Goss Candies, Lewistown and then she was a Ward Clerk at Lewistown Hospital for 11 years, retiring in May 1975.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and she sang in the choir. She was a Past Matron of Chapter #283, the order of the Eastern Star, the Galilee Shrine #30 and White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Her memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with Rev. David Schmuck officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.

Clinton G. "Jerry" Yetter
MIFFLINTOWN - Clinton G. "Jerry" Yetter, 85, of Brookline Manor & Retirement Village, Mifflintown RR1, and formerly of Mifflintown, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002, at the Manor.
Born Sept. 27, 1916, in Mifflintown, Juniata County, he was the son of the late William H. and Martha Jane (Singer) Yetter.
He is survived by a sister, Betty L. Reynolds, Brookline Manor & Retirement Village, Mifflintown RR1; two nieces and seven great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd Yetter, William Yetter, and two sisters, Ethylene M. Yetter and Mary J. Yetter.
He was a graduate of Mifflintown High School.
He was a WW II veteran serving in the U.S. Army having attained the rank of Sergeant. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
He retired as a self-employed carpenter.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mifflintown Chapel of the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Douglas Compton officiating. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Tressey M. Yetter
LEWISTOWN - Tressey M. Yetter, 83, of Perry Valley, New Bloomfield, died at 4:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, 2002 at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 28, 1919 in Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Lauver) Bedelyon. Her husband, Jack C. Yetter, preceded her in death in 1990.
Surviving are: a daughter and son-in-law, Kenneth and Yvonne Stewart, Lewistown; a granddaughter, Kelly Ruble and her husband, Jon; and three great-grandchildren, Jon III, Jaelynn and Wade Ruble.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Pleasant Acres. She loved teaching Sunday School. She was great for mailing cards to friends in nursing homes.
She enjoyed Bible study and reading.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Harold Imes officiating. Interment will be in the Maitland Brethren Cemetery.

Amelia M. Yoder
LEESBURG, OH - Amelia M. Yoder, 82, of Leesburg, OH, died at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2002, in Greenville, TN, while visiting her son.
Born March 13, 1920, in Belleville, she was the daughter of the late Kore and Rachel (Hostetler) Peachey. Her husband, Leroy S. Yoder, whom she married Dec. 23, 1941, preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1978.
Surviving are: children, Samuel K. Yoder, Blanch, NC, Kore L. Yoder, Greenville, TN, Mrs Thomas (Leah) Peachey, Leesburg, OH, Mrs. Gideon (Salina) Renno, Mifflintown, Mrs. Emanuel (Fannie) Troyer, Cleveland, NC, Mrs. Ivan (Katie) Weaver, Wittmore, MI, Leroy S. Yoder Jr., Flemingsburg, KY, and Henry Yoder, McClure; sisters, Mrs Leah Hostetler and Mrs. Salina Peachey, both of Belleville; 66 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Louie Yoder and David S. Yoder; three brothers and four sisters.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Amish Church of Leesburg, OH.
Her funeral service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Pleasant View Amish Mennonite Church, Green Lane, Belleville with Bishop David Peachey, Minister Earl Peachey, Minister James Gingrich and Minister Jacob Yoder officiating. Interment will be in Amish Cemetery at Van Wert, Juniata County.

MCCLURE - David N. Yoder, 11, Box 2100, RD2 McClure, died at 2:35 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2002, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville of natural causes.
Born Dec. 27, 1990, in Juniata County, he was the son of Aaron L. and Lizzie (Hostetler) Yoder.
Surviving are: sisters, Nancy Yoder and Mary Yoder, at home; maternal grandmother, Mary Hostetler, RD McClure.
He was a student and a member of the Old Order Amish.
His funeral service will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Yoder residence. Interment will be in Samuel's Amish Cemetery, RD McClure.

REEDSVILLE - Jeptha H. Yoder, 56, of 981 Coffee Run Road, Reedsville, died at 11:12 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital's emergency room.
Born Feb. 16, 1946, in Milroy, he was a son of the late Joel Z. and Dorothy S. (Hostetler) Yoder. His wife, Lydia R. (Hostetler) Yoder, survives.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at his residence. Interment will be in Green Lane Cemetery, Reedsville.

John N. Yoder
OAKLAND, MD - John N. Yoder, 87, of Oakland, MD passed away Monday, June 10, 2002, in Garrett County Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 7, 1914, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Noah and Elizabeth (Peachey) Yoder. His first wife, Barbara, preceded him in death; his second wife, Bertha, survives.
Also surviving are: 11 children, Lizzie Mahlon Yoder, Rachel Swartzentruber, Kori Yoder, Annie Fisher, Sam Petersheim, Amelia Petersheim, Frannie Kauffman, Mary Miller, Dan Petersheim, Sylvia Swartzentruber, and Paul Schrock.
His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Gortner Amish Church, with Bishop Norman Schrock officiating. Interment will be in Cemetery, Oakland, MD.

BELLEVILLE - Mary H. Yoder, 65, of 5142 E. Back Mountain road, Belleville, died at 8:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at her residence.
Born Nov. 9, 1936, in Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Joel Z. and Dorothy (Hostetler) Yoder. She was the wife of John J.S. Yoder, who survives at home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Eli (Betsy) Hostetler of Reedsville; three stepsons, Eli John Yoder and Christ G. Yoder, both of Reedsville, and Samuel I. Yoder of Belleville; three brothers, Solomon J. Yoder and Jeptha H. Yoder, both of Reedsville, and David H. Yoder of McClure; a sister, Barbara H. Yoder of Belleville; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She was a member of the Old Order Amish.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Yoder residence at 5142 E. Back Mountain Road, Belleville. Interment will be in Green Lane Cemetery, Reedsville.

Born Feb. 10, 1923, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph J. and Fannie K. (Yoder) Byler. Her husband, Amos K. Yoder, whom she married Dec. 18, 1945, survives.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Old Order Amish Church.
Her funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the David Swarey residence with David Zook officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Norman C. Yoder
GLENDALE, AZ - Norman C. Yoder, 83, of Glencroft Retirement Community, Glendale, AZ and formerly of Belleville, died on Thursday, March 7, 2002, at his home.
Born April 27, 1918, in Belleville, he was the son of the late Jessie and Sadie Yoder. He was the husband of the late Effie M. (Kaufman) Yoder, who died Dec. 28, 1995. They married on Jan. 6, 1940.
Surviving are three sons, J. Lester Yoder of Belleville, Harold J. Yoder of Elkhardt, IN and Ray L. Yoder of Belleville; six daughters, Rosa Johnson of Mukilteo, WA, Edith Yoder of Phoenix, AZ, Ethel Hartman of Indianapolis, IN, Jenny Yoder of Phoenix, AZ, Carol Brammell of Phoenix, AZ and Lucy Coast of Phoenix, AZ; ten grandchildren, Jason Yoder, Kristina Yoder, Michael Hartman, Kelsey Hartman, Erica Hartman, Benjamin Yoder, Maria Yoder, Thomas Coast, Bobby Brammell and Elizabeth Yoder Brambert; and a sister, Barbara Peachey of Belleville.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert M. Yoder, Chester T. Yoder and John I. Yoder; and a sister, Amanda E. Byler.
He was a dairy farmer.
He was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church and Gideons International, where he was active in prison work.
He helped to found the Belleville Mennonite School in 1945 and the Farmer's Milk Handlers Cooperative. He served on the Board of Directors for WTLR, a Christian radio station in State College.
Norman has a life-long love of music and was very active singing in retirement homes in the Belleville area. He continued to pursue that love in Phoenix, singing at the Glencroft Retirement Center. He produced tapes of his favorite hymns, hymns which he also shared by phone with his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2002, at 10:30 a.m. at Maple Grove Mennonite Church, 115 Maple Grove Rd., Belleville, with the Revs. Laban Peachey, Elam Glick and Erie Renno officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

BELLEVILLE - Oliver M. Yoder, 102, of Valley View Haven, Belleville, died at 6:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002 at the home.
Born Oct. 20, 1899, in Belleville, he was the son of Crist and Lydia (Hartzler) Yoder. His first wife, Mildred M. (Hess) Yoder, preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1934. His second wife, Wilma L. (Weaver) Yoder, preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1990.
Surviving are nieces and nephews, Mrs. Wilfred P. (Jean) Bennett and Eunice Ruth Yoder, both of Cornwall, Dr. Donald Yoder of Dover, Dr. John D. Yoder of Hummelstown, Solomon Yoder of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Dr. Carl J. Yoder of Goshen, IN, S. Glenn Esh of Columbus, Ohio and Susan Esh Gibbons of Ingamor.
He was preceded in death by an infant son in 1934, four brothers and four sisters.
He was retired from Kishacoquillas Valley National Bank.
He was a member of Maple Grove Mennonite Church, where he served as a trustee and treasurer and was on the building committee. He was also a member of the study committee at Valley View Haven.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Valley View Haven Chapel, Belleville, with Rev. Laban Peachey and Rev. Galen Sharp officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

MILLERSTOWN - Anna M. Yohn, 69, formerly of 28 South Market Street, Millerstown, died Sunday in the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
Born Feb. 7, 1933 in Millerstown, she was a daughter of the late Charles G. and Eva "Meloy" Grubb. Her husband, David E. "Lassie" Yohn, whom she was married to for 48 years passed away on March 10, 2002.
Surviving are: a son, David G. Yohn, Mifflintown; two daughters, Kathy A. Yohn, Enola and Patti J. Kerstetter, Richfield; special friend and sister-in-law Shirley Grubb, Millerstown; two brothers, Paul and Charles Grubb, Millerstown; four sisters, Evelyn Grubb, Millerstown, Dorothy Hoffman, Liverpool, Faye Swanger and Jane Baughman both of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by: a daughter, Kristie A. Yohn; a brother, Russell Grubb; and sisters, Flossie, Christine, Shirley and Betty Grubb.
She was owner of the former Anna's Restaurant, Millerstown. She had worked in several dress factories and had been working for Sweger's Thrift Market in Millerstown until her illness.
She was a graduate of the former Millerstown High School and a fan of the Atlanta Braves.
She was a member of the Millerstown United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Millerstown United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.

Born June 7, 1927, in Millerstown, he was a son of the late George and Erna (Coats) Yohn. His wife, Anna M. (Grubb) Yohn, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, David G. Yohn, Mifflintown, and two daughters, Kathy A. Yohn, Enola, and Patti J. Kerstetter, Richfield; two brothers, Roland Yohn and Dennis Yohn, both of Millerstown, and four sisters, Winifred Manwiller, Harrisburg, Madalyn Hoover, Duncannon, Donna Schendler, Camp Hill, Joan Myers, Landisburg; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kristie A. Yohn.
He was an Army veteran of WW II.
He had worked for the former R.C. Savercool Clay Sales, Millerstown, and was retired from the Greenwood School District.
He was a member of the Millerstown United Methodist Church, Millerstown VFW Post #5049 and the Millerstown Fire Co.
He was a Phillies fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Gladys B. (Polly) Yohn
CAMP HILL - Gladys B. (Polly) Yohn, 66, of Camp Hill died Friday, Nov. 22, 2002, in her home.
Born April 6, 1936, in Lebanon, she was a daughter of the late Harold A. and Edna Hoffer Batdorf.
She was a 1954 graduate of Lebanon High School and a 1958 graduate of Millersville University. She went on to obtain a Masters degree from the Pennsylvania State University. She was an elementary school teacher in the State College and Lancaster area schools. She recently worked as a caregiver at the Children's Center in Lemoyne and was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Robert L. Yohn; a son, Robert K. Yohn, Harrisburg; a daughter, Robin Sell and her husband, Keith, Longmeadow, MA; a brother, Harold Batdorf, Munich, Germany; two sisters, Eleanor Baldwin, Pickerington, Ohio, and Grace Trimble, Lancaster; and two grandsons, Michael and David Sell.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Second Presbyterian Church, 528 Garland Drive, Carlisle, with Rev. James A. Gilchrist officiating. A graveside service will also be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Grandview Memorial Park, Annville.

BELLEVILLE - Joanna Young, 60, of 20 Stallion Dr., Belleville, died at 11:19 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2002, at her home.
Born March 20, 1942, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late John and Phyllis (Hatfield) Watson. Her first husband, Donald E. Lightner, died June17, 1996. Her second husband, Ernest H. Young, whom she married June 13, 1998, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Greg S. Lightner, RD2 Huntingdon, Donald C. Lightner, RD2 Petersburg, and Mrs. Rodney (Annette) Civitts and Mrs. Darren (Suzanne) Stuck, both of Belleville; brothers, John Watson, York Springs, George Watson, RD2 Huntingdon, and Donald Watson, Hesston; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was manager of the meat department at Taylor's I.G.A., Belleville, and a clerk at Big Valley Feed and Grain, Belleville. She attended the West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian Church, Belleville.
Her service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with the Rev. Samuel G. Strohm officiating. Interment will be in Coy-Lightner Cemetery, RD2 Huntingdon.

Vivian R. Young
HARBOUR BEACH, FL - Vivian R. (Whitesel) Young, 69, of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001 at Holmes Regional Medical Center (Hospice Unit) in Melbourne, FL.
Born June 16, 1932 in Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Carrie (Zimmerman) Whitesel.
Surviving are: a daughter, Cynthia Young, Chandler, AZ, and a son, Brian Young, Indialantic, FL; brothers and sisters, Maxine Varner, Richfield, and Joyce Steward, Victor Whitesel and Donald Whitesel, all of Mifflintown; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by twin sisters, in infancy.
She was a 1948 graduate of Juniata Joint High School and a graduate of Central Penn Business School.
She served in the United States Marine Corps before settling in Florida as an administrative manager with RCA/GE, working in and around the space program. In 1974 her work with the space shuttle program moved her to Lancaster, CA. Upon her retirement in 1992, she returned to Florida.
Private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Lester E. Zeiders
EAST WATERFORD - Lester E. Zeiders, 81, of East Waterford, died at 4:25 p.m. Thursday in the Lewistown Hospital.
Born Oct. 24, 1920 in Newport, he was the son of the late William Roy and Verna (Rabenstein) Zeiders. His wife, Betty (Shaw) Zeiders , survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Paul E. Zeiders, Lewistown, and Gary B. Zeiders, East Waterford; two sisters, Jean Buffington, Brookville, FL, and Lois Lindsay, Newport; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
He owned and operated Zeiders Amusements and Concessions for 34 years and was the first to supply amusements at the Perry Co. Fair.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
He was a member of the Owls Club, Newport, PA Fire Police, Juniata Co. Fire Police, A life-member and founder of the East Waterford Fire Co., Lack-Tuscarora EMS, a charter member of Tuscarora Valley Heritage Days, and founded the East Waterford Holiday Council which provided the Christmas lights in East Waterford.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with the Rev. Frank Muse officiating. Interment will be in the East Waterford Cemetery where the Juniata Valley Veterans Council will conduct full military honors.

MIFFLINTOWN - Anna Snyder Zendt, 92, of Brookline Manor, Mifflintown RR1 and formerly of Evendale, died at 1:16 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2002, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 31, 1909, in Granville Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Millie (McCallips) Snyder. Her husband, J. Lloyd Zendt, preceded her in death on April 12, 1966.
Surviving are: children, Mrs. Robert (Sylvia) Berry, Port Royal, Lee Zendt, Grampian, Harold Zendt, Houston, TX and Mrs. Gary (Marjorie) Hack, McAlisterville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by an infant son, J. Lloyd Zendt, and three brothers, James Snyder, John Snyder and Walter Snyder.
She graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College and attended Bloomsburg State College. She retired after 31 years of working as a special education teacher in schools in Mifflin, Juniata and Snyder counties.
She was a member of the Richfield United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed crafts, ceramics, eating out and socializing with her friends.
Her funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with the Rev. Marton Roberson officiating. Interment will be in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery.

M. Flo Zimmerman
GRANVILLE - M. Flo Zimmerman, 77, of the Malta Home, and formerly of Granville, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, at the Malta Home.
Born July 7, 1924, in Millerstown, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Jennie Mae (Barner) Shaffer. Her husband, Ralph E. Zimmerman, preceded her in death, on Oct. 6, 1986.
Surviving are: a son, R. Edward Zimmerman and his wife Judith A., Northumberland; sisters, Hope Younkin, West Chester, Geraldine Clark, Warren, OH, Mrs. Judson (Helen) Storey, Batesville, AR, and Sue Watt, Malta Home, Granville; three grandchildren, Angela S. Zimmerman, Robert E. Zimmerman, Jennifer J. Zimmerman, and two great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of Derry Township High School.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Granville United Methodist Church.
Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.

Fannie R. Zook
BELLEVILLE - Fannie R. Zook, 88, formerly of Allensville, died at 9:20 a.m. Friday at Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville.
Her service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Valley View Chapel, Belleville, with Foster King, Raymond Peachey and Wesley King officiating. Interment will be in Allensville Mennonite Cemetery.

Mahlon C. Zook
ALLENSVILLE - Mahlon C. Zook, 78, of 82 Water St., Allensville, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2002, at his home.
Born Feb. 4, 1924, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Jacob S. and Fannie R. (Yoder) Zook. His wife, Jane (Wyland) Zook, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Charles M. Zook, Reedsville and Dale K. Zook, Allensville; sisters and brothers, Mrs. Samuel (Mary) King, Belleville, David Zook, Sweet Home, OR, Mrs. Amos (Leah) Stoltzfus, Honey Brook and Andrew Zook, Bordman, OR; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Zook and Levi Zook.
A maintenance welder, he retired in 1985 from Sperry New Holland.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, 66th Division of the Black Panthers, and was a member of the Stroup-Alexander VFW Post 5935.
He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
He was a member of Watts Memorial United Methodist Church, Belleville and attended Allensville Presbyterian Church.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with the Rev. Geoffrey Huish officiating. Interment will be in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.

Randall J. "Randy" Zook
BELLEVILLE - Randall J. "Randy" Zook, 23, of 4907 Front Mountain Rd., Belleville, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at Hershey Medical Center.
Born July 5, 1978, in Lewistown, he was the son of Raymond J. and Joann D. (Zook) Zook, of 4907 Front Mountain Rd.
Surviving are: a sister, Marci D. Zook, Burnham; paternal grandmother, Martha A. Zook, and maternal grandmother, Naomi B. Zook, both of Belleville.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Benjamin J. Zook and John D. Zook.
He was a case worker for Mifflin County Children and Youth and an Indian Valley Jr. High football coach.
He was a 1996 graduate of Indian Valley High School, where he was active in football and basketball, and a May 2001 graduate of Susquehanna University, where he was an offensive tackle on the football team for four years.
He attended Locust Grove Mennonite Church.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Locust Grove Mennonite, Belleville, with Pastor Greg Kanagy and the Rev. J. Max Zook officiating. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

MIFFLINTOWN - Stella L. Zook, 86, of RR3 Mifflintown, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at her home.
Born Nov. 16, 1915, in McCoysville, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late David Guss and Laura (Palm) Showers.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Roy (Nancy Lee) Colyer, RR3 Mifflintown, two sons, Steven L. Zook, RR3 Mifflintown, and Thomas L. Zook, Reedsville; a sister, Cleona R. Williams, RR1 East Waterford; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a one sister, Hulda G. Fasick, on Sept. 15, 1988.
She retired in 1977, with 26 years of service as a clerk/typist for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, having worked for the Dept. of Transportation and the Dept. of Revenue.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Mifflin and its Sunday School Class #11, the Milford Grange #773 and the State Employee's Retirement System.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Mifflintown Chapel of the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown with the Rev. George S. Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

GREENSBURG - Kimberley S. Zoubir, 30, of Export, PA, and formerly of Charlotte, NC, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, at IHS Mt. View, Greensburg, PA.
Born July 9, 1972, in British Columbia, Canada, she was the daughter of Patricia (Williams) and Michael Reeder Sr. of Export, PA.
Surviving are: paternal grandparents, D. Robert and Betty Reeder, Lewistown; two brothers, Richard E. Reeder, Canada, and Michael E. Reeder Jr., Export, PA; a niece, Erica Reeder, and a nephew, Daniel Reeder.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Clair and Leona Williams.
She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Charlotte, NC.

John R. Zubler
SPRING MILLS - John R. Zubler, 86, of 331 Heckman Cemetery Rd., Rural Spring Mills, died Saturday, March 23, 2002, at Fairways Home at Brookline, State College.
Born Aug. 15, 1915, in Spring Mills, he was a son of the late Michael T. and Lodie (Rishel) Zubler. His wife, Emeleen (Ross) Zubler, whom he married June 22, 1946, preceded him in death on Aug. 15, 1985.
Surviving are: a daughter, Jane Ann Yunginger, Rochester, MN, and two sons, John R. Zubler, Millheim, and James R. Zubler, Lewistown; three sisters, Ruth Boyer, Spring Mills, Sara Frazier, Spring Mills, Lois Snyder, New Bloomfield, and a brother, Paul Zubler, Spring Mills; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Bright, and a brother, James Zubles.
He was a decorated Lieutenant Commander Navy Pilot during WW II with the Naval Air Transport Service and the Air Ferry, Squadron Four in the Pacific. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
He owned and operated a farm in Rural Spring Mills. He worked at Penns Valley High School as the Vo-cast Agriculture Teacher and also formerly at Oley Valley High School, before retiring in 1973.
He was a noted conservationist and also started the Penns Valley High School Conservation Center.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Farmers Mills, PA, Gregg Twp. Fire Co. and Ambulance Co., Masons Old Fort Lodge 537, Centre Hall, and the American Legion Post 779, Centre Hall. He was a former member of the Board for Spring Mills National Bank, now Jersey Shore State Bank.
His funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Johns United Church of Christ, Farmers Mills, PA, with the Rev. Rachael Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Heckman Cemetery, Rural Spring Mills.
