Verna R. Dalby
REEDSVILLE - Verna R. Dalby, 84, of 68 E. Railroad St., Reedsville, died at 6:56 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2002, in the emergency room at Lewistown Hospital.
Born July 13, 1917, in Burnham, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ethel J. (Johnson) Kephart. Her husband, Albert E. Dalby, preceded her in death in 1966.
Surviving are: a son, William A. "Abb" Dalby, Lewistown; and four grandchildren, William II, Brian and Scott Dalby, and Holly Lundberg; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William K. "Bud" Kephart.
She was employed at the American Viscose Corporation and Empire Kosher, retiring in 1983.
She attended the Reedsville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church and was a member of the 25 Year Avisco Club, the Viscose Retirees Club, and the South Burnham Community Group.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert E. Iddings officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

Margaret D. Danko
CLARENCE - Margaret D. Danko, 76, of 155 Dairy St., Clarence, PA, died at 9:10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at her residence.
Born June 16, 1925 in Osceola Mills, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Anna (Smolko) Murgas. Her husband, Emro M. Danko, whom she married June 25, 1949, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mary Ann Bubb, Potters Mills; five sisters, Mary J. Granite, Clarence, Ann S. Soltis, Deltona, FL, Helen D. Chambers, Clarence, Agnes J. Solomon, Wallaceton, and Dorothy P. Koleno, Clarence, and four brothers, John Murgas, west Dwcatur, George Murgas, State College, Andrew Murgas, Beaver Crossing, NE, and Michael Murgas, Clarence; three granddaughters and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.
She attended Clarence School.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Clarence, and the churches Rosary Society, the First Catholic Slovak Union and the American Association of Retired people.
She enjoyed cooking and loved to babysit everyones children. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Clarence, with Father Sylvester J. Bendzella officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Snow Shoe Twp.

Annabel C. Davis
CARLISLE - Annabel C. Davis, 78, of 105 Cherry Lane, Carlisle, died at 6:10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born Aug. 1, 1923 in Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late A. John and Almeda (Barnes) Cross. Her husband, Thomas S. Davis, whom she married Oct. 28, 1944, survives.
Also surviving are: children, James T. Davis, Carlisle, John R. Davis, Lafayette, CO, Michael S. Davis, Frostburg, MD, Terri Ann Davis, Dallas, TX, and Todd P. Davis, Springfield, MA; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She graduated from the Lewistown Hospital School of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse.
Her funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with the Rev. Lois Martin officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.

Mary Jane Davis
LEWISTOWN - Mary Jane Davis, 83, formerly of Lewistown and Caledonia, died Tuesday Dec. 10, 2002, at Frey Village, Middletown.
Born May 23, 1919, in Port Matilda, to the late Hobart and Edna Norris Taylor.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sharon L. Davis and a grandson Matthew Gutshall, both of Harrisburg; her son, Henry Davis II and wife Sandra and grandson, Chris Davis and wife Kristy, all of Greer, SC; her sister, Esther Kline, Pipersville; and half sister, Madeline Norton, Lemoyne.
She was preceded in death by her sisters Betty Flanagan and Phyllis Seibert, and her brother, Hobart Taylor.
Her funeral service will be handled at the convenience of the family.

Rhoda Jane Davis
NEWPORT - Rhoda Jane Davis, 80, of Newport, died Monday Sept. 1, 2002, at the Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
Born Dec. 7, 1921, in Bratton Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Vance and Luella (Youtzy) Espigh. Her husband, Marland E. "Sammy" Davis, preceded her in death.
Surviving are: a son, Larry M. Davis, Newport; two daughters, Constance A. Buffington, Poway, CA and Marilyn Joy Reisinger, Newport; a brother, Glenn A. Espigh, McVeytown; four sisters, Lois A. Notestine, Belleville, Ida. A. Hambright, McVeytown, Mildred J. Smith, Lewistown and Nancy L. Erdley, State College; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Saundra J. Finton.
She graduated from the former McVeytown Oliver Joint High School.
She had worked for the former Soult Dry Cleaners, Newport and the Newport Slip Factory and was retired from the PA Dept. of Revenue.
She was a member of the Incarnation United Methodist Church of Christ, Newport, where she was a former choir member. She was a former member of the Pine Glen Church of the Brethren. The Towpath Court Order of Amaranth #138, where she was a Past Royal Matron, a Grand Court Choir Member, and a Supreme Court Courtesy Girl and Page.
She enjoyed singing old hymns.
A viewing will be from 6-9 p.m. Thursday from the David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport.
An Amaranth service will be held at 10:50 a.m. followed by the funeral service at the Incarnation U.C.C. Interment will be in the Newport Cemetery.

Samuel G. Davis
LEWISTOWN - Samuel G. Davis, 87, of 537 Summit Drive, Lewistown, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born June 23, 1915, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Samuel G. and Maude (Manbeck) Davis. His wife, Belva I. (Miller) Davis, whom he married in 1933, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jones (Dorothy) Marker of 137 Shaw Ave., Lewistown and Mrs. David (Shirley) Lynn of 45 Anderson St., Mattawana; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
He was a machine operator at Standard Steel from 1942 until his retirement in 1979.
He was a member of the U.S. Navy Reserves.
He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
He was a member of United Steelworkers Local #1940, Brooklyn Hose Company, Price Long Sunday School Class, Lewistown Lions Club, B.P.O.E. Lodge #663 and Burnham Lions Club.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Carrie Swigart officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

LEWISTOWN - Sarah J. (Jane) Davis, 82, formerly of 804 W. Fifth St., Lewistown, a resident of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, died at 5:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at the nursing home.
Born Feb. 24, 1920, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Mabel (Goss) Wagner. Her husband, Norman A. Davis, preceded her in death April 7, 1995.
Surviving are: five children, William R. Davis, RD McClure, Mrs. Kenneth (Sharon) Gillam, Reedsville, Dean A. Davis, Milroy, Mrs. James (Gail) Marker, Burnham, and Norma J. Yeager, Milroy; a brother, Roy. D Wagner and a sister, Helen Casner, both of Lewistown; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Robert Wagner; and a son, Paul G. Davis.
She was a production employee at Empire Kosher, retiring due to disability.
She was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.
She was a former member of Brooklyn Hose Co., United Fire and Rescue, City Hook and Ladder and the West Granville Fire Co. Auxiliaries.

Born May 5, 1918, in Ulverston, England, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Fox) Dennison.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura Rothrock.
She was employed at American Viscose Corp., retiring in 1972 with 37 years of service.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating.

Kero 'Kitty' Dimoff
MCVEYTOWN - Kero "Kitty" Dimoff, 76, of 341 Mt. Hope Road, McVeytown, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at his home.
Born April 26, 1926, he was the son of the late Elia and Angelina (Taliff) Dimoff.
Surviving are: four children, Donna L. Kauffman, Peter D. (Danny) Dimoff, Rose Wentz, and Linda Sue Faubert; six siblings, Mike E. Dimoff, Jordan E. Dimoff, Mariea E. Stewart, Boris E. Dimoff, Wanda E. Dunn, and Donald E. Dimoff; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andrew M. Dimoff.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mt. Union, with Dr. Robert Coutts officiating. Interment will be in Mount Union Cemetery.

Natalie B. Diocson
BELLEVILLE - Natalie B. Diocson, 91, of 108 Maple Grove Road, Belleville, formerly of Garden Grove, CA, died at 8:28 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, 2002, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born Dec. 1, 1910, in the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Ambrocio and A. Lola Pecheco Bonifasio. Her husband, Conrad V. Diocson, preceded her in death in 1993.
Surviving are five children, Carmelita Diocson of the Philippines, Conrad Diocson Jr. of the Philippines, Edwardo Diocson of California, Andrew Diocson of California and M. Patricia Westover of Belleville; a sister, Betty Yatco of the Philippines; 26 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by by two daughters, Eleanor and Rose; four brothers and four sisters.
She was a homemaker.
She attended St. Polycarp Catholic Church and Crystal Cathedral, both in Garden Grove, CA.
She was an avid reader and she enjoyed the beach and playing bingo. She liked to sew and bowl, and served as the bowling league secretary for a number of years.
Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Donald E. Baggus Funeral Home, 3813 W. Main St., Belleville, with Rev. Rosalie Smith officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Helen Marie DiValerio
DOYLESTOWN - Helen Marie DiValerio, beloved Wife and cherished mother and grand-mother died peacefully in her home, May 2, 2002. She died of leukemia. In her final hours, her husband and family were gathered around her.
Born in 1924, she grew up in Philadelphia, one of six children, three girls and three boys, of which she was the youngest. After graduating from Overbrook High School, she went on to further her education by attending business school.
She married her husband, John (Jack) in 1946, and had four children. All four children were educated in Central Bucks. They had resided in Doylestown since 1955.
Surviving are: her husband, Jack; her daughter Sandy Beeman and fiance Bruce Trego, Mifflin-town; son, John DiValerio, and his daughters, Sheri and Jana, Chalfont; daughter, Kit Dalton and husband Bill and their children, Will and Kim, Buckingham; and son, Don DiValerio and wife Karen, recently of San Diego, CA.
She worked outside her Doylestown home as a secretary to the SMA Fathers Seminary located at the time in the Aldie Mansion. Her job was secretary and was also responsible for sending Mass Cards. On Oct. 11, 1976, she joined Penn-Engineer-ing, as a secretary in PIC, and then in later years her career focus was on supporting the shipping department in the shipping of global shipments of PennEngineering products. She retired on July 8, 1994. She continued to enjoy her relationships and enduring friendships at PennEngineering through her active participation at the PennEngineering functions and activities for retirees. She touched the lives of many people and was always thinking of others.
She loved to take walks, work on her computer and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, Jack, were members together at the Doylestown Senior Citizens Center where they enjoyed various daily activities, and also traveled extensively with the group of friends they had there. She was an active volunteer for the organization.
Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Rd., Doyles-town. Interment will follow in the St. John Neumann Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.

Born Feb. 15, 1964, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Glenn Hockenberry, Lewistown and Mary A. (Gahagan) Colyer, 230 W. Freedom Ave., Lot B-30, Burnham.
Also surviving are: two children, Casey Jo Smith and Robert Diven, both of Lewistown.

Agnes Dolch
LEWISTOWN - Agnes Dolch, 91, of Beverly Healthcare/William Penn, formerly of Outlook Pointe Commons, Reedsville, died at 10:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at the nursing home.
Born June 11, 1910, in Lilly, she was a daughter of the late David and Lovina (Musselman) George Sr. Her husband, Conrad C. Dolch, whom she married in Nov. of 1947, survives, and lives at Outlook Pointe Commons, Reedsville.
Also surviving are: a step-daughter, Mrs. Samuel (Edith) Holtzclaw, St. Petersburg, FL; a sister, Beatrice George, Lewistown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Early in life, she was employed at American Viscose Corporation. Later, she was em-ployed at Koppers Inc., Balti-more, MD.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewistown.
Her funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, 200 North Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating. Interment will be held in Juniata Memorial Park.

Sara J. Dolin
MIFFLINTOWN - Sara J. Dolin, 79, of Mifflintown RR 3, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002 at her home.
Born Jan. 31, 1923 in Milford Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Daisy (Bell) Dolin.
She is survived by a sister, Cora V. Notestine of Mifflintown RR 1, and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Russell "Jake" Dolin, Florence Powley, Margaret Lehman, Robert Dolin and Edward Dolin.
She worked at the American Viscose Corporation, Lewistown, and then at the Juniata County Library. She was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and Milford Grange #773.
She enjoyed gardening and fishing.
Her service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Mark Brower officiating. Interment will be in St. Stephen's Lutheran Cemetery, Licking Creek Valley.
There will be a viewing one hour prior to the services.
Audrey S. Donahey
MOUNT UNION - Audrey S. Donahey, 75, of RD2 Mount Union, died at 2:50 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2002, at her home.
Born April 17, 1927, in Strodes Mills, she was a daughter of the late Homer and Nettie (Kline) Shirey. Her husband, Harold E. Donahey, whom she married June 11, 1948, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Russell H. Donahey and his wife, Bellene, McVeytown RD; two brothers, Charles Shirey, McClure and Harry Shirey, Lewistown; a sister, Betty Aikey, New Port Ritchey, FL.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Shirey, and four sisters, Mary Wagner, Mildred Hein, Dorothy Roe and Anna Peterson.
Early in life she worked at G.C. Murphy Co., Lewistown and was later employed as a secretary at Union Auto Parts, Mount Union for 30 years.
She was a member of the Strodes Mills Baptist Church, where she served as a children's Sunday School teacher for many years, a member of the Missionary Society and as church historian.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Strodes Mills Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jonathan God officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.

Harold E. Donahey
MOUNT UNION - Harold E. Donahey, 76, of RR2 Box 194 Mount Union died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2002, at his home.
Born May 10, 1926, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Ellis J. and Mary G. (Adams) Donahey. His wife, Audrey S. (Shirey) Donahey, whom he married June 11, 1948, died July 1, 2002.
Surviving are: a son, Russell H. Donahey and his wife, Bellene (Melnyk) Donahey, of 5 Wolf Lane, McVeytown; a brother, Carl R. Donahey, Lewistown, and sisters, Mrs. Jesse (Mabel) Bilger and Mrs. Robert (Helen) Foust, both of McVeytown.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John W. Donahey, and a sister, Mrs. Lewis (Margaret) Wilson.
He owned and operated Union Auto Parts in Mount Union for 39 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served in World War II and was discharged in 1946.
He attended McVeytown High School
He was a past member of the Allenport Lions Club and a member of the Strodes Mills Baptist Church where he served on the board and as treasurer and Sunday School teacher. He also held various other church offices.
