Harry T. Donahey
LEWISTOWN - Harry T. Donahey, 94, of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, and formerly of Big Ridge Road, Lewistown, died at 11:25 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at William Penn.
Born Oct. 14, 1908, in Oliver Township, he was a son of the late William and Annie (Ruble) Donahey. His wife, Mabel F. (Shehan) Donahey, preceded him in death on May 17, 1988.
Surviving are a son, William N. Donahey and his wife Linda (Boreman) Donahey; a daughter, Mrs. Gary W. (Linda) Miller, all of Big Ridge Road, Lewistown; two sisters, Grace Donahey, Rothrock School Apartments, McVeytown, and Gladys Donahey, Ohesson Manor, Lewistown; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by five siblings, Ellis Donahey, Mary Parchey, Wesley Donahey, Charles Donahey and Carl Donahey.
Early in life he operated a saw mill and later retired from Pennsylvania Glass Sand, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator.
He was the oldest living member of the Strodes Mills Baptist Church. He had also been active with the board of trustees of the church and was a member of the adult Sunday School class.
A committal service will be held at 10:15 a.m. Monday at Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Strodes Mills Baptist Church, with Rev. Jonathan God officiating.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.

Barbara I. Doverspike
REEDSVILLE - Barbara I. Doverspike, 71, of 500 Honey Creek Rd., Reedsville, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at her residence.
Born May 16, 1930, in Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Evelyn E. (Carson) Showers Sr. Her husband, Calvin M. Doverspike, whom she married Nov. 26, 1953, survives.
Also surviving are: children, David M. Doverspike, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Ronald L. Doverspike, Loysburg; brothers, William F. Showers, Clarion, and Samuel A. Showers, Shippenville; and two grandchildren, Kyle and Joshua Doverspike.
She was employed as a billing clerk at Lewistown Hospital, retiring in May 1995.
She was a member of the Shrader United Methodist Church. She was a Hospice volunteer and a member of Lewistown Hospital Auxiliary.
Her service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, with Rev. L. Ed Moore Jr. and Rev. Marshall Deckard officiating. Interment will be at Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.
There will be no viewing, but family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Ronald E. Drake
LEWISTOWN - Ronald E. Drake, 54, of 1 Shaw Ave., Apt. #1, Lewistown, died at 2:25 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home.
Born Oct. 1, 1948, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Raymond and A. Louise (Schilling) Drake.
Surviving are: two daughters, Lorie Drake, Falls Church, VA, and Jennifer Drake, 40 Railroad St., Apt. D, Lewistown; three siblings, Phillip A. Drake, Dale City, VA, Patricia S. Drake, 193 Cliffside Dr., Lewistown, and Timothy A. Drake, 614 S. Main St., Lewistown.
He was a machine operator at New Holland, Inc., for 35 years.
He was a member of City Hook and Ladder and Fame Fire Company.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. D. Gregory Lake officiating. Interment will be held in Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Gary L. Drass
MIFFLINTOWN - Gary L. Drass, 47, of Mifflintown RR 4 died at 4:20 pm Sunday, August 25, 2002 at Meda Nipple Convalescent Home, Thompsontown RR 1.
Born January 24, 1955 in Lewistown, he was a son of Geraldine E. (Cummings) Drass of Mifflintown RR 4 and the late George N. Drass, Sr.
Also surviving are siblings, Mrs. Chalmer (Sally) Beward, Mifflin HC 67, Mrs. Luke (Debbie) Landis, McAlisterville RR 2, George N. Drass, Jr., Nevada, and Richard C. Drass, Scranton.
Gary was a 1974 graduate of Juniata High School and was employed by Empire Kosher Poultry. He loved his family, enjoyed traveling, and was an avid Nascar racing fan.
His service will be at 2 pm Wednesday at New Life Assembly of God Church, corner of Cedar Spring and Swamp Roads, with Rev. William McCommons officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Garden, Mifflintown. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 7pm-9pm at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the service.
Hiroko Drayer
REEDSVILLE - Hiroko Drayer, 71, of 62 Betty Circle, Reedsville died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday at her residence.
Born July 22, 1930, in Takeo, Japan, she was the daughter of the late Tokuji and Sai Nakamura. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Drayer, who died Oct. 15, 1994.
Surviving are a son, James L. Drayer of 62 Betty Circle, Reedsville; a daughter, Christine L. Drayer of Ypsilanti, MI; and three grandchildren, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Erin.
She was a homemaker.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

LEWISTOWN - Helen E. Dress, 82, of 1520 Middle Road, Lewistown, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Beverly Healthcare-William Penn.
Born March 14, 1920, in Johnsonburg, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Sarah (Dorley) Bottorf. Her husband, Charles L. Dress, whom she married June 7, 1941 survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Charles L. Dress Jr. and wife Joan, of 12 Henry Drive, Lewistown; a sister, Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Lachat, Lock Haven; two grandchildren, Timothy W. Dress and wife, Jana, Lewistown and Mrs. Mark (Tammy) Walters, Milton; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lock Haven, and the Lewistown Elks Lodge Women's Auxiliary.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown with Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Evelyn M. Dressler
THOMPSONTOWN - Evelyn M. Dressler, 76, of RR2, Thompsontown, died at 4:08 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, in the Brookline Manor, RR1, Mifflintown.
Born Jan. 14, 1926, in Port Trevorton, Snyder County, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Kathryn (Leach) Kerstetter. Her husband, Samuel N. Dressler, whom she married Feb. 13, 1942, survives.
Also surviving are: two sons, Bruce S. and his wife Julia, RR1, Mifflintown, and Russell J. and his wife Patricia, RR1, McAlisterville; four brothers, Welcome Kerstetter, RR1, Port Trevorton, Glen Kerstetter, RR1, Shermansdale, Ronald Kerstetter, Phoenixville, and Larry Kerstetter, Newville; three sisters, Virginia Vogelsong, Mechanicsburg, Anita Koleno, Perth Amboy, NJ, and Ardella Billman, Dauphin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred and Abraham Kerstetter, and an infant sister, Mildred Kerstetter.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed flower gardening.
She was a member of the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, Bunkertown.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Bunkertown Church of the Brethren, Bunkertown with Pastor James Huskins officiating. Interment will follow in Goodwill Cemetery, Bunkertown.
A viewing will be from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, 16 Westfall Street, McAlisterville.

Stephen R. Drozda
BURNHAM - Stephen R. Drozda, 75, of 1018 Edwardtown Road, Burnham, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2002, at his residence.
Born Nov. 27, 1926, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Charles and Anna (Rogalinski) Drozda.
Surviving are: five siblings, Victoria Herverly, Aldan, PA, Anna Salopek and Michael Drozda, both of Lewistown, Mary Drozda, Aldan, PA, and Joseph Drozda, Pottstown.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Enoch, John, Harry and Andy Drozda; one sister, Kathryn Miller.
He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years, he served in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and the Yeagertown Fire Company.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Graveside military services will be by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown.

LEWISTOWN - Stewart S. Druck III, 27, of 35 Tressler Drive, Lewistown, died at 3:36 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, 2002, on Roundhouse Road, Lewistown as the result of an auto accident.
Born July 7, 1975, in York, he was the son of Stewart S. and Carol (Crone) Druck Jr. of 35 Tressler Dr., Lewistown.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Scott (Melissa) Whitsel, York, Mrs. Rodney (Diane) Swords, Manchester and Mrs. Richard (Cheryl) Englar, Windsor; and maternal grandfather, Levi R. Crone, York.
He attended Eastern York High, Wrightsville.
He worked early in life for Tee to Green Lawn Care, York. His last employment was as a truck driver for Hillendale Farms, Reedsville.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

LEWISTOWN - Harry D. "Pete" Druckemiller, 64, of Beverly Healthcare/William Penn, Lewistown, died at 6:05 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Jan. 8, 1938, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John D. and Priscilla (Brought) Druckemiller.
Surviviung are: children, Harry D. Druckemiller Jr., Burnham, Mrs. Robert (Susan) Ritchey, McVeytown, and Brian K. Druckemiller, Lewistown; sisters, Mrs. Allan (Shirley) Jensen, Lewistown, Mrs. Albert (Judy) Sebolt, Burnham, and Mrs. Edward (Sara) Michaels, Lewistown, a brother, Charles E. Druckemiller, Clayton, AL; and ten grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Melinda, Ashtin, David, Brittany, Jeffrey, Katelyn, Taylor and Breann.
He was a construction worker employed by various area contractors.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

DOTHAN, AL - Marjorie O. Druckenmiller, 77, of 2603 Redmond Road, Dothan, AL, and formerly of Church Hill Manor, Reedsville, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Dothan, AL.
Born Oct. 10, 1924, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late William Henry and Lula (Troup) Harmon. Her husband, Lewis E. Druckenmiller, preceded her in death on March 9, 1992.
Surviving are six children, Mrs. Walter (Brenda) Ciecierski of Lewistown, Mrs. Dale (Edwinna) Knepp of Dothan, AL, Mrs. L. Owen (Marlou) Vogt Jr. of Lewistown, Lewis E. "Jeff" Druckenmiller Jr. of Headland, AL, Mrs. Jeffrey (Jeryl) Haywood of Dothan, AL and Mrs. Wesley (Marjorie) Cook Wagner of Lewistown; a brother, William S. Harmon of Lewistown; 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carey Druckenmiller; a great-grandson, Jacob Colpetzer; and a sister, Betty Baker.
She was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Howard D. Houtz officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.

Merrill F. Druckenmiller
LEWISTOWN - Merrill F. Druckenmiller, 80, of Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, and formerly of 631 Maple Ave., Lewistown, died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002, at Ohesson Manor.
Born Feb. 14, 1921, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Albert C. and Mary Ellen (Cavanaugh) Druckenmiller. His wife, Doris (Peck) Druckenmiller, whom he married Oct. 30, 1940, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mrs. David (Rosellen) Frey, 40 Fairway Place, Lewistown, Marlin Druckenmiller, 105 N. Walnut St., Lewistown, Martin Druckenmiller, 701 Maple Ave., Lewistown, and Mrs. Frank (Marilyn) DeArment, 412 S. Logan Blvd., Burnham; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Druckenmiller.
He was a Chief Yeoman in the U.S. Navy for 22 years, serving in WW II and The Korean Conflict and Caseworker-Supervisor/Trainer for the Dept. of Public Welfare for 20 years before retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and a former member of Lewistown Elks Lodge #663.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Pastor John Livingstone officiating. A Graveside Military Service by VFW Post 7011 will be held in the Vira Methodist Cemetery.

Alvin L. 'Big Son' Duncan
REEDSVILLE - Alvin L. "Big Son" Duncan, 37, of 150 Peach Run, Reedsville, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Lewistown Hospital.
Born Sept. 23, 1964, in Neptune, NJ, he was the son of James Green of Freehold, NJ and the late Geneva Washington. His wife, Cindy L. Williams, whom he married on Aug. 3, 2001, survives at home.
Also surviving are a daughter, Amber Lynn Waake of Howell, NJ; and eight siblings, Marie Washington, Sheila Jones, Lynn Duncan, Denise Washington, Tara Washington, Thomas Duncan, Kenneth Duncan and James Green Jr.
He was a construction worker and a member of St. James AME Zion Church, Woodsville, NJ.
Family will receive friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. The Rev. Danny Knepp will officiate.
Ira N. Dunmire
CHAMBERSBURG - Ira N. Dunmire, 85, of Menno Haven Nursing Center, Chambersburg, formerly of McVeytown, died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Menno Haven.
Born Oct. 16, 1916, in McVeytown, he was a son of the late Luther J. and Nannie C. (French) Dunmire. His wife, Hazel L. Dunmire, whom he married Aug. 31, 1940, died on Oct. 16, 1998.
Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Doris) Fisher, Elkton, MD; a son, Galen A. Dunmire, Wheatland, WY; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Raymond Dunmire.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the European Theatre.
He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University.
He was a self-employed farmer, also having worked as an agricultural extension agent in Berks County and Adams County. He had also operated a general store in Belleville.
He was a member of the Hollowell Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro, and a former member of the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, McVeytown.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20, at the Spring Run Church of the Brethren, with Darwin Gearhart officiating. Interment will be in Spring Run Cemetery.

James Robert Durst
BURNHAM - James Robert Durst, 26, of 411 Locust St., Burnham, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2002, at his home.
Born Dec. 16, 1975, in Lewistown, he was a son of John K. and Thalia (Morris) Durst Jr., 89 Trella St., Belleville.
Also surviving are: two children, Brenden Robert Durst and Leah Elizabeth Durst, both of Lewistown; two brothers, Christopher and his wife Deanna Durst, Belleville, and John K. III and his wife Catie Durst, Thompsontown; paternal grandparents, John K. and Betty Durst, Lewistown; maternal grandparents, Bob and Verna Morris, Belleville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was employed as a grinder at Donsco and for Paul Kauffman Trucking Company, Belleville.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and Penn State football fan.
His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville with Rev. Charles Spice from Corbin, KY officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
A visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

THOMPSONTOWN - Melinda Sue Dustin, 21, of Thompsontown died at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 8, 2002 from injuries sustained from an automobile accident in Granville Township, Mifflin County.
Born May 1, 1981, in Mahoning Township, Montour County. She was a daughter of David J. and Eleanor R. (Swartz) Dustin of Thompsontown and Larry E. Swartz, Lewistown. Her husband, Jason J. Kangas, survives.
Also surviving are: two children, Destiny Rynne Kangas and Nathan John Kangas, both at home; three sisters, Kelly J. Dustin and Barbara J. Brookins, both of Thompsontown, Marguerite E. Ouderkirk, Michigan; maternal grandparents, James E. Swartz, Lewistown, and Barbara A. Nickel, Thompsontown.
She was employed as a waitress at Ellie's Place, Granville.
She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and working with computers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall Street, McAlisterville with Rev. William P. Luckadoo officiating. Interment will be in East Salem Cemetery.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
