Bessie Battaglini, 93, of Grandview Avenue, Monongahela, died Tuesday, February 3, 1998, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, Waynesburg.
She was born Friday, November 4, 1904, in Gallatin, a daughter of Romolo and Speranza Vignoli Biagini.
She was a former resident of Fallowfield Township and a member of Mary Mother of the Church in Charleroi.
Surviving are two daughters, Gloria Venanzi of Monongahela and Marion Swiatek of South Plainfield, N.J.; two grandchildren, Mary Ann Robertson and Edward P. Swiatek; and a sister, Evelyn "Dolly" Kline of Austin, Texas.
Deceased are her husband, Samuel Battaglini, who died in 1976; two sisters, Millie Galloni and Irene Pensis; and two brothers, Chris and Leo Biagini.
John Dzubay
Retired Energy Department employee from New Eagle
John Dzubay, 75, of Madison Avenue, New Eagle, died Tuesday, February 3, 1998, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born June 21, 1922, in Elrama, a son of Paul and Mary Milcso Dzubay.
Mr. Dzubay was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater.
He retired as a federal employee with 31 years of service, retiring from the U.S. Department of Energy on June 6, 1984.
His wife, Beverly L. Harkins Dzubay, died August 14, 1983.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Marcia Babiak of Monongahela; three stepgrandchildren, Tracey Bavuso, John Oliver Nahar III and Frank R. Nahar; four stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Stephen Dzubay of Finleyville R.D.1; and a sister, Betty Rivenburg of Bristow, Va.
Deceased are a stepson, John Oliver Nahar II; five sisters, Mary Whitfield, Pauline Hrezo, Helen Mihelcic, Anne Murphy and Margaret Maurer; and a brother, Paul Dzubay.

Alfred Raymond Kirk Sr., 83, of Daisytown, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township.
He was born January 12, 1915, in Shinnston, W.Va., a son of Julius and Margaret Shaffer Kirk.
Mr. Kirk lived most of his life in Daisytown and was retired as a coal miner from Moffit Coal Co., Daisytown.
Surviving are two daughters, Joyce Kirk and Wanda Kirk, both of Daisytown; three sons, Alfred Jr., Hayward and Perry Kirk, all of Daisytown; a granddaughter, Tammie Kirk; a sister, Myrtle McManus of Marianna; and a brother, Hayward Kirk Sr. of Cleveland, Ohio.
Deceased are three sisters, Ethel Lake, Minnie Ankney and Dovie Staley.

Anna Koval, 88, of Greensburg, formerly of Richeyville, died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 1998, in Oak Hill Nursing Home, Greensburg.
She was born September 22, 1909, in Hopwood, a daughter of John and Mary Pochatka Bakos.
Mrs. Koval was a homemaker and a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn K. Lancaster of Greensburg; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline Tretinik of Willowick, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, John Koval, who died September 2, 1980; a daughter, Elaine Fazekas; two sisters and three brothers.

Stella Mentzer, 79, of Cassidy Avenue, Monongahela, died Tuesday, February 3, 1998, in The Greenery Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
She was born Wednesday, July 24, 1918, in Manown, a daughter of Michael and Ellen Bettura Mashinsky.
Mrs. Mentzer lived most of her life in the Monongahela area and was a member of Transfiguration Church.
Her husband, William R. Mentzer, died April 6, 1978.
Surviving is a sister, Frances Mashinsky of Salem, Ohio.
Deceased is a sister, Bertha Chatta.

He was born November 24, 1917, in Fredericktown, a son of John and Mary Karootz Raffits.
Mr. Raffits was a member of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Rices Landing, and the Holy Name Society.
He was a member of Rices Landing Athletic Club.
Surviving are a sister, Irene Bell of Rices Landing; and three nephews, Robert W. Jr., Barrie J. and William A. Bell.
Jack A. Robbins
Army veteran and mail carrier
Word has been received of the death of Jack A. Robbins, 67, of Greenwood, Ind., formerly of Washington, who died January 21, 1998, following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 17, 1930, in Washington.
Mr. Robbins was an army veteran; a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service; and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood.
On March 31, 1951, he married Viola Rhoades, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jack A. Robbins of Danville, Ind., and Timothy W. Robbins of Avon, Ind.; a daughter, Patricia L. Robbins of Milwaukie, Ore.; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
Burial was January 23 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Greenwood.
Chesteria R. Verholtz

Chesteria R. "Celie" Verholtz, 69, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998, at home following a four-month illness.
She was born April 21, 1928, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Stanley and Antoinette Smigiel Mals.
Mrs. Verholtz lived in Canonsburg her entire life, where she was a member of St. Genevieve Worship Site of St. Patrick Parish and its Christian Mothers and Guild.
She was a 1945 graduate of Canonsburg High School, a member of SNPJ Lodge 138 of Strabane and its Tuesday Night Bowling League, KSKJ St. Jerome Lodge 153 of Strabane, Wednesday Village Green Golf League and Thursday Chippewa Golf League.
Mrs. Verholtz enjoyed polka dancing and traveling.
On April 15, 1950, she married Don Verholtz, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Barbara Smith of Washington, Donna Dittmar of Strabane and Patti Verholtz of Canonsburg; a son, J. D. Verholtz of Strabane; four grandchildren, Patrick Smith and Brandon, Christopher and Lauren Dittmar; two sisters, Anna Pacana of Hamtramck, Mich., and Florence James of Battle Creek, Mich.; four brothers, Frank Mals of Melbourne, Fla., Raymond Mals of Wilmette, Ill., Chester Mals of Dayton, Ohio, and Joseph Mals of Strabane; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a sister, Elizabeth B. Korzinski, who died January 29, 1994.

S. "Dr. Ying" Yingvorapant, M.D., a former South Hills pediatrician, died Tuesday, February 3, 1998, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Ying had a prominent practice for 30 years in South Hills and the last four years continued his practice in San Carlos, Arizona, where he practiced medicine on an Indian reservation.
Surviving are a son who lives in Pittsburgh; and two brothers and a sister who reside in the state of California.
Memorial services will be held with his family in California.
William L. Zediker

William L. Zediker, 42, of Raspberry Road, East Finley Township, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 1998, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown, following a 10-year illness.
He was born November 15, 1955, in Washington, a son of the late Russell Zediker and Loretta Prosser Zediker Dillie of Prosperity, who survives.
Mr. Zediker was employed by Environmental Plastic Co. until he became disabled.
He attended the Great Hope Baptist Church in West Virginia.
On July 20, 1981, he married Linda "Sissy" Keener, who survives.
Also surviving are his stepfather, Abraham Lincoln Dillie of Prosperity; two daughters, Carol Linn Wheeler of Claysville and Jennifer Keener at home; a grandson, C. J. He was born November 28, 1915, in Uniontown, a son of William Frederick and Lulu Cupp Coldren.
Mr. Coldren was employed at Fruehauf Trailor Corp., prior to retirement. He served in World War II with the Army for three years; was a member of IOOF Lodge 254 of Waltersburg; and a member of the VFW Post 47 of Uniontown.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Forman Coldren; a son, David Coldren of Waynesburg; two grandsons, Adam Coldren and Eric Coldren; four stepchildren, Charles Eggers of Lancaster, Rachel Shaffer of Alliance, Ohio, Beth Williams of Gibsonia and Allyson George of Castle Shannon.

Fletcher Gulley, 79, formerly of Lawrence, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998, at Washington County Health Center.
He was born March 13, 1919, in Holly Springs, N.C., son of James Gulley and Iola Gulley Brown.
Mr. Gulley worked in the maintenance department of Mayview State Hospital, retiring in 1980.
On January 25, 1995, he joined St. John the Baptist Church in Lawrence.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

He was born July 3, 1927, in Good Intent, a son of George W. and Alice A. King Lohr.
He was baptized by the Rev. Bruce Merritt, pastor of Claysville United Methodist Church.
Mr. Lohr enjoyed watching the news.
Surviving are two brothers, Harold Rex Lohr of Claysville and Glenn W. Lohr of Canonsburg; two sisters, Jean Moore and Midge Richmond, both of Claysville; and several nieces and nephews.
John McCoy
Former steel worker operated Canon Associates
John "Buck" McCoy, 65, of DiCio Street, Borland Manor, North Strabane, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998, in the emergency room of Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg.
He was born September 9, 1932, in Washington, a son of William Carl and Lulu Blanche Davidson McCoy.
On June 18, 1955, he married Rosalie DiMuzio McCoy in St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg with the Rev. Paul J. Simko, officiating.
He was a member of St. Patrick Worship Site of St. Patrick Parish, Catholic Men's Club of the church, member of AGA, GBU, VFW 191, Italian American Association, Sons of Italy Lodge 758, the White Eagles Club, French Club and Elks Lodge 846, all of Canonsburg.
Mr. McCoy was a 1951 graduate of Trinity High School and was formerly employed by J&L Steel Co. of Aliquippa for 35 years. More recently, he operated an income tax and accounting office known as Canon Associates. He was an avid sportsman.
Following the Korean War, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and was stationed in Kentucky.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalie DiMuzio McCoy; two sons, John McCoy at home and Christopher McCoy, a member of the U.S. Coast Guard stationed in Philadelphia; a daughter, Maria Christine Yatsko of Canonsburg; four grandchildren, Miranda McCoy, Morgan Yatsko, Jesse and Shane McCoy; four brothers, Edward, Bob, and Bill McCoy all of Washington and Richard McCoy of Houston; two sisters, Marge Brodnick of Houston and Mary Grace Grimm of Avella; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Joseph, who died in infancy.

George E. McMillen, 70, of 224 Allison Avenue, Houston, died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 4, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg.
He was born June 15, 1927, in Houston, a son of George E. Sr. and Josephine Weaver McMillen.
Mr. McMillen was a 1946 graduate of East Washington High School and was employed for 20 years by Federal Paper Board Inc., later retiring from the Chartiers-Houston School District.
He was a member of Meadow Lands United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of Chartiers Lodge 297 F&AM.
On July 13, 1947, he married Audrey Jeannine Barnickel, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Robert J. McMillen of Washington and Gary L. McMillen of Meadow Lands; three grandsons, Robert, Jason and Erik McMillen; a brother, David Edward McMillen of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Mildred "Bubba" Susick McKeta O'Brien, 81, of First Street Bentleyville, died Thursday, February 5, 1998, at Mon Valley Hospital's emergency room.
She was born September 30, 1916, in Fairhope, a daughter of John and Anna Wysochanski Susick.
She lived in Bentleyville for more than 25 years and was a former resident of Van Voorhis. She was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo. She was a member of the Ave Maria Parish.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Draganac of Bentleyville and Shirley Brugos of Munhall; a son, Sonny McKeta of Bentleyville; a stepson, Dennis O'Brien of Ellsworth; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her first husband, Charles McKeta Sr.; second husband, Watkin William "Bud" O'Brien; four brothers, George, Steve, Joseph and Fred Susick; and three sisters, Mary Yakich, Anna Dobrinski and Margaret Bosick.
Sara Gladys Shriver

Sara "Sally" Gladys Shriver, 79, of Rogersville, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 1998, in the Franklin Medical Center, Waynesburg, after a lengthy illness.
She was born January 14, 1919, in Waynesburg, a daughter of John Randolph and Jessie Lou Garner Lewis.
Mrs. Shriver had lived in Greene County all her life and was a member of the Rogersville United Methodist Church where she formerly served as youth leader and member of the choir.
She was a former den mother with the Rogersville Cub Scouts, a former member of Harvey's Grange 1444 and the Rebecca Lodge of Waynesburg.
Mrs. Shriver was a graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at the former Curry Memorial Home for eight years prior to her retirement in 1976.
On September 23, 1940, she married William Bennett Shriver, who died December 24, 1988.
Surviving are two daughters, Louetta Gordon of Berlin Center, Ohio, and Carolyn Camino of Columbia, N.C.; a son, John W. Shriver of Triangle, Va.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a foster brother, Lemoyne Conklin.
Mrs. Shriver was the last of her immediate family.
Jack C. Swan
Pastor of Jesus is Lord Fellowship Church of Ohio
The Rev. Jack C. Swan, 66, of 1633 Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool, Ohio, died at 1:50 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 1998, at his home after a two-year illness.
He was born January 24, 1932, in Brave, a son of Louis "Smokey" and Mabel Cumberledge Swan.
The Rev. Swan spent most of his life in the East Liverpool area where he retired from Crucible Steel as a tempermill helper after more than 30 years of service.
He was a graduate of the New Life Bible College in Cleveland, Tenn., a member of House of Prayer Church, past master of Masonic Lodge 681 and pastored Jesus is Lord Fellowship Church for more than 20 years. He recently received his doctor of ministry degree. He was also a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army.
He was a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On July 14, 1949, he married Dorothy Eisiminger, who survives.
Surviving are a daughter, Lorraine Swan of Pittsburgh; a son, Joey Swan of Liberty, Ohio; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; three sisters, Natica Bruno of Waynesburg, Anna Rose Pourgoyne of Tunnelton, W.Va., and Dottie Lou Snow of Nashville, Tenn.; three brothers, Charles Swan of Carmichaels, Louis William Swan Jr. of Houston, and Bill Swan of Chesapeake, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are twin son and daughter, Charles and Charlene Swan.

James William Yancheck, 51, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Carmichaels, died of a heart attack Tuesday, February 3, 1998, in Seattle.
He was born February 8, 1946, in Waynesburg, a son of Rose Mary Marcin of Norfolk, Va. and the late George Yancheck.
Mr. Yancheck was an engineer on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Ship Rainier and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam.
Surviving are three daughters, Audra, Tara and Jayma Yancheck all of Seattle; a grandson, Zachary Yancheck; and a sister, Carol Taylor of Kansas City, Mo.
Deceased is a brother, John Pevic.
Services were held in Seattle.

She was born May 5, 1919, in Harbor, Ind., a daughter of Mike and Helen Kenes Andrikanich.
She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church Byzantine Rite of Avella and the Altar Society of the Church.
Surviving are two brothers, John Andrikanich of Willoughby, Ohio, and George Andrikanich of Clifton, N.J.; a sister, Julia Vanik of Erie; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Mike and Charles; and two sisters, Helen and Mary.
James B. Becker Jr.
Horse trainer owned and operated horse business
James B. Becker Jr., 70, of Scenery Hill, died of a heart attack Friday, February 6, 1998, in his home.
He was born June 6, 1927, in Brentwood, a son of James B. Becker Sr. and Theresa Becker.
Mr. Becker was an extraordinary horseman who showed and trained numerous horse at local, state and national championships.
He was an international judge, judging every major horse show including the American Quarter Horse Youth World Championship Shows, Appaloosa Horse Club World Show, the American Paint World Horse Show.
He was a certified judge for the American Quarter Horse Association, Appaloosa, American Paint Horse Association, Palomino Horse Association, National Snaffle Bit Association, American Horse Show Association, Pinto Horse Association and the Pony of the America Inc., His passion for horses lives on through his son and daughter who carry on the family business that Mr. Becker and his late wife, Dorothy, began.
He served with the U.S. Navy,
Surviving are a daughter, Linda J. Becker at home; a son, James B. Becker III at home; and a brother, Charles L. Becker of Baldwin.
Deceased is his wife, Dorothy Marie Morecroft Becker, who died July 19, 1983.

She was born February 9, 1913, in Ten Mile, a daughter of Taylor and Alice Loar Bice.
She was a member of Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church of Prosperity and was a homemaker.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Post of Washington; a foster son, John Bice of Marianna; three sisters, Mae Rutan and Virginia Gray, both of Washington and Helen Reedy of Amherst, Ohio; two grandsons, James and Mark Post; a great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Walter Bice; and three sisters, Katherine Sherman, Betty Burke and Mary Alice Bice, who died in infancy.

Owner of Weirton Floor Covering for 48 years
J. William (Bill) Davis, 82, of Weirton, W.Va., died at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 1998, in Washington Hospital.
He was born August 12, 1915, in Guthrie, Ky., a son of William G. and Frankie Stephens Davis.
Mr. Davis, a Catholic, was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church, Weirton, where he was also a member of the Holy Name Society.
He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus; D.P. Murphy Council No. 3734, Weirton; and a member of the Pittsburgh Carpet Club and the Ohio Valley Builders Club.
He was past president of St. Joseph School PTA and the Madonna Boosters Club.
He was first and past scout leader of Weirton Heights Fire Department Boy Scout Troop and was the founder and owner of Weirton Floor Covering for the past 48 years.
On February 14, 1942, in Weirton, he married Eleanor Schumacher, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Duff of Manassas, Va., Sharon Green of Weirton and Mary Kaye Haidle of Anderson, Ind.; three sons, James W. Davis Jr. of Weirton, Charles M. Davis of Los Angeles, Calif., and Jeff W. Davis of Weirton; two brothers, Lawrence Davis of Washington and Allen Davis of Clarkston, Mich.; and 10 grandchildren.
Three sisters are deceased.
Donald E. Fulk
Washington resident was formerly of Tulsa, Okla.
Donald E. Fulk, 55, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998, at his home.
He was born on February 17, 1942, in Urbana, Ohio.
Mr. Fulk lived as a man with severe disabilities in Tulsa, Okla., and left a Tulsa nursing home at age 54 to come Washington to be helped by the Washington disability community through Tri-County Patriots for Independent Living.
Surviving are his wife, Betty of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Cathy Douglas of Oklahoma City, Lori Kimbell of Ventura, Calif., and Valerie Kendell of Olympia, Wash.; and two brothers, Kendell Fulk and Paul Fulk, both of Oklahoma City.
A interfaith memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Houston.

He was born in Canonsburg and moved to Sebring in 1977.
Mr. Lengyel was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, Seabring.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of Local 5 United Mine Workers and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He was married to Lucy Lengyel, who survives in Sebring.
Also surviving are a son, John A. Lengyel of Sebring; two daughters, Lucille Vestal of Sebring and Mary Louise France of Canonsburg; a sister, Matilda Pacific of Meadow Lands; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Wake services and cremation were held in Sebring.
Charles B. Ross
Garards Fort resident was farmer, trucker, coal miner
Charles B. Ross, 90, of Garards Fort, died at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
He was born March 27, 1907, in Garards Fort, a son of Charles A. Ross and Phoebe L. Barclay Ross.
Mr. Ross worked as a farmer, trucker and coal miner and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a member of John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church in Garards Fort, and a member and past master of Dunkard Grange.
His wife, Dollie Ramsey Ross, died in 1992.
Surviving are two sons, John Ross of Greensboro and Charles T. Ross of Garards Fort; three daughters, Nancy Marie Geary of Bentleyville, Doris Kalasky of Carmichaels and Sandy Wemmitt of Hudson Falls, N.Y.; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Leanna McGill of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Alice Steele of Washington state.
Deceased are two sons, Ralph and Michael L. Ross; a grandson, Joseph Ross; six sisters, Neva Cummins, Alta Donley, Sara Wade, Idesta Stoneking, Grace Cree and Mary Korman; and a brother, Ralph Ross.

Thelma Burch Seabrook, 69, of Youngstown, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 4, 1998.
She was born March 24, 1928, in Alicia, a daughter of Nelson and Maud Burch.
She was a former resident of Washington and attended the Washington public schools.
She was a member of the Mt. Calvary Pentecostal Church in Youngstown.
Surviving are two daughters, Tara R. Bilah and Tracine Kerns both of Youngstown; a son Terry Michael Seabrook of Youngstown; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold D. Burch of Washington and Earl W. Burch of Lady Lake, Fla.; seven sisters, Mary Burch of Warren Ohio, Betty Brown of Wheeling, W. Va., Shelian Harris of St. Louis, Mo., Helen Louise Thomas, Barbara Singleterry, Joyce Patmon and Joan Howard, all of San Diego Calif; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Dorothy Allen and Nancy Reeves.
William C. Wilson
Former councilman owned and operated sign business
William C. Wilson, 80, of Donnan Avenue, Washington, a former Washington city councilman, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center Washington, following a three-month illness.
He was born February 16, 1917, in Taylorstown, a son of John Wilson and Minnie B. Carter Wilson Cline.
Mr. Wilson was first elected to council in 1963 and re-elected in 1967. In 1971, he forfeited the opportunity to run for nomination again in favor of a crack at the mayorship. He lost in the Democratic primary.
He also served as a member of the Washington School Board.
Mr. Wilson began managing theaters in 1948, and was promoted to district manager for the Basle Co. in 1956. He continued managing theaters, including the Penn Theater in Washington, for 22 years.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a 1935 graduate of Washington High School, and was employed at Jessop Steel Co. during World War II as a ballistics inspector.
For a number of years he owned and operated his own sign business.
On July 12, 1935, he married Kathryne Elizabeth Moore, who died May 22, 1989.
Surviving are a son, Charles Stanley Wilson of Syracuse, N. Y.; two sisters, Twila Wagner and Jeannine Montecalvo, both of Washington; a grandson, Charles Stanley Wilson II; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Fred Duane Wilson.
Angelo Battistoni Jr.
Avid golfer, member Greene County Country Club
Angelo S. "Blackie" Battistoni Jr., 69, of Waynesburg R.D.1, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
He was born August 26, 1928, in Mather, a son of Angelo and Adeline Vivian Battistoni.
Mr. Battistoni was a 1946 graduate of Jefferson High School. He was a retired coal miner of Gateway Coal Company and had lived in Waynesburg since 1966.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion Post 954 of Jefferson, and a member of United Mine Workers of America.
Mr. Battistoni enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Greene County Country Club.
On June 26, 1952, he married Virginia Detwiler, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Debra S. Blouir of Waynesburg; two sons, Gregory A. Battistoni and Gary M. Battistoni both at home; five brothers, Charles Battistoni of Greensburg, Raymond Battistoni of Alexandria, Va., Roger "Pete" Battistoni of Coral Springs, Fla., Richard Battistoni of Gilbertsville and Ronald Battistoni of Collegeville; and two sisters, Ida Clements of Lehigh Acres, Fla., and Mary Rice of Mather.
