Neal Franklin Cline
Paris resident retired from engineers union
Neal Franklin Cline, 77, of Paris, died at 4:50 p.m. Friday, February 6, 1998, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born November 23, 1920, in Steubenville, Ohio, a son of John A. and Lue S. Johnson Cline. Mr. Cline attended Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church of Weirton, W.Va. He was retired from International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66 of Pittsburgh, where he was a 50-year member. Mr. Cline was a member of Scottish Rites and Syria Shrine Temple of Pittsburgh, Weir Cove AARP Chapter 3846 and American Legion Post 10, both of Weirton, Richard Vaux Lodge 454 F&AM of Burgettstown and the Hanover Township Zoning Board. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. On December 24, 1946, in New Cumberland, W.Va., he married Genevieve "Pete" Ault Cline, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Carol Powell of Weirton and Cheryl Johnson of Colliers, W.Va.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and three sisters, Ruth Yacos of Colliers, Ruby Loughhead of Weirton and Pauline McClelland of Burgettstown. Deceased is one great-granddaughter.

Eva H. Coles
Member of McDonald First Baptist Church
Eva H. Coles, 73, of Midway died Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Ohio Valley Hospital, Kennedy Township. She was born April 10, 1924, in Danville, Va., a daughter of Thomas Judson and Matilda Susan Redd Harper. Mrs. Coles was a housekeeper for several local families for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonald, where she was a deaconess, treasurer of the Missionary Society, a senior missionary choir member and a member of Mary Chapter 24 of P.H.A.O.E.S. She also was a member of McDonald Senior Citizen Center. On June 19, 1948, she married Walter "Buddy" Coles Sr., who survives. Also surviving are a son, Walter T. Coles Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Barbara A. Edmonds of McDonald, Evelyn Hicks of Slovan and Cordelia Hereford of Danville, Va.; and a grandson, Walter T. Coles III. Deceased are two brothers, Willie T. Harper and Royal Douglas Harper; and a sister, Ruth Harper, who died at birth.

Mary M. Fenimore

Mary M. Fenimore, 95, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington. She was born August 4, 1902, in Steubenville, Ohio. She lived most of her life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish. Surviving are four daughters, Mary "Dolly" DiDomenico of Chicago, Ill., Antoinette Dapra of Canonsburg, Cynthia Zelinsky of Eighty Four and Katheryn "Babe" Jorgenson of Washington; two sons, Peter A. Fenimore of Washington and Leonard Fenimore of Johnstown; two sisters, Ida Parish of Steubenville and Josephine Indovinia of Cleveland, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is her husband, Dominic Fenimore.

Barbara I. Voytish Fiedler, 74, died Friday, February 6, 1998, in Mrs. G's Personal Care Home, Monongahela. She was born December 22, 1923, in Brownsville, a daughter of Michael and Anna Matty Voytish. Mrs. Fiedler once lived in the Fallowfield Township area. She was a graduate of Charleroi High School and a former member of St. Jerome Church in Charleroi, where she served as a CCD teacher. Surviving are a son, Mark Fiedler; two grandchildren; three sisters, Ann Chopp Collins of Sacramento, Calif., Betty Hamilton Walatka of Fallowfield Township and Dorothy Burkhart of Forward Township; four brothers, John Voytish of Las Vegas, Nev., Paul Voytish of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., George "Jigs" Voytish of Monessen and Thomas Voytish of Delaware, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Joseph Fiedler; two sisters, Mary Macosko and Peggy By; and two brothers, Michael and Joseph Voytish.

Mary C. Fischer, 93, of Jefferson R.D.1, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. She was born April 12, 1904, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Albert U. and Katherine Koller Huber. Mrs. Fischer was a homemaker and Catholic. On June 21, 1922, she married Fred H. Fischer, who died April 8, 1992. Surviving are two sons, Fred H. Fischer of Norfolk, Va., and James H. Fischer of Jefferson R.D.1; a daughter, Mary Maloney of Norfolk; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sons, Jesse R. Fischer and Neal Fischer; and three grandsons.

Mary Kopera, 79, of 97 Nancy Lane, McMurray, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, in Allegheny University Medical Center - Canonsburg. She was born on February 2, 1919, a daughter of John and Mary Carol Biondo. Mrs. Kopera was the proprietor of Kopera's Casuals at Donaldsons Crossroads, McMurray, and was a member of St. Benedict the Abbot Catholic Church, a member of the church choir and previous travel director for chapter 1780, AARP. Surviving are her husband, Francis C. Kopera; a daughter, Gloria K. Kauss of Mt. Lebanon; three brothers, Sam Biondo of New Jersey, Dan and John Biondo both of New York; and two sisters, Jennie Lacki and Dorothy Meissner both of New Jersey.

Gladys L. Leeper

Gladys L. Leeper, 77, of Jefferson R.D.1, died Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg. She was born July 23, 1920, in Buckhannon, W.Va., a son of Charles and Regina Maude Hawkins Mayfield. Mrs. Leeper lived most of her life in the Jefferson area where she was a waitress for the Chicken House Restaurant, Rustic Inn and Waynesburg Restaurant. She was a member of the Clarksville Senior Citizens. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Smitley of Waynesburg; two sisters, Virginia Brumbaugh of Altoona and Gracie Kramrich of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Deceased are two daughters, Nancy Colvin and Gail Sloneker; a brother, Kenneth Mayfield; and two sisters, Eldine Kirby and Jeannie Rickerson.

Clorinda M. Malinak

Clorinda M. Malinak, 80, of East Wylie Avenue, Washington, died at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, February 8, 1998, at Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, after a lengthy illness. She was born September 17, 1917, in Fairpoint, Ohio, a daughter of John and Mary Lobis. She was a homemaker and was a member of St. Hilary Catholic Church. On June 5, 1943, she married George S. Malinak, who survives. Also surviving is a sister, Jessie Lobis of Washington, and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Thomas and William Lobis.

Mabel A. Myers
Retired seamstress for Mayview State Hospital
Mabel A. Myers, 85, of West Pike Street, Houston, died Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Washington County Health Center. She was born July 8, 1912, in Houston, a daughter of Cleve and Nettie Burkett Barbour. Mrs. Myers was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Houston, a member of Houston Senior Citizens, Chartiers Houston Library, Friends of the Library and the McMurray Women's Club. She was a retired seamstress for Mayview State Hospital where she continued to do volunteer work. On May 21, 1937, she married James M. Myers, who died December 17, 1960. Surviving are a son, John R. Myers of Washington; five grandchildren, Joylene Riggle, John E. Myers, Ronald J. Myers, Robert P. Myers and Brian S. Myers; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, Ralph, Wallace and William Barbour.

Marie H. Schragl, 74, of Library, died Friday, February 6, 1998, in Monessen. She was born August 16, 1923, in Baldwin Township, a daughter of Charles and Anna Flidow Dunsey. She was a homemaker. Surviving are a son, Fred T. Schragl of Library; and two granddaughters, Jessica and Kimberly Schragl. Deceased is her husband, Fred "Fritz" Schragl.

Samuel S. Stringhill
Lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, WW II veteran
Samuel Salvador Stringhill, 77, of 205 Otto Street, Belle Vernon, Rostraver Township, died at 7:49 a.m. Sunday, February 8, 1998, in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. He was born August 2, 1920, in Fayette City, a son of Joseph and Josephine Mazzei Stringhill. Mr. Stringhill was a lifelong resident of the Belle Vernon area, where he was a member of the St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Allenport plant, where he worked as a slitter operator. Mr. Stringhill was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army First Armored Division. He was a tank operator and served as a sergeant. He was a life member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659, where he served as past commander and past president, life member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department, Arden Calvert Post 167 VFW Charleroi, and BPO Elks Monessen Lodge 773. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Eleanor "Judy" Molek Stringhill; a son, Charles "Chuck" Stringhill of Belle Vernon; three daughters, Melanie Patterson and Valerie Homanics, both of Belle Vernon, and Kimberly Stringhill at home; a brother, Louis Stringhill of Belle Vernon; two sisters, Lena Mazzei and Janie Mitchell both of Belle Vernon; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Shelby and Jacob Homanics, Maria Stringhill and Cody Patterson. Deceased are seven brothers, Orlando, Charles, Frank, Rudolph, James, Fred and Anthony Stringhill; and a sister, Innis Stringhill.

George Suhon
World War II veteran was Wheeling-Pitt retiree
George Suhon, 76, of Avella, died at 5:49 a.m. Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Washington Hospital. He was born February 11, 1921, in Brownsville, a son of John and Susie Boscak Suhon. Mr. Suhon came to Avella as a child and had lived here since that time. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Byzantine Rite of Avella, Bert C. Siders American Legion Post 643, SNPJ Lodge 292 of Avella, Cross Creek Valley Senior Citizens, Western Pennsylvania Button Box Club and the Sub-Area Advisory Board of the Senior Citizens. He enjoyed music and banjo playing. Mr. Suhon worked 25 years for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., retiring in 1975. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. On January 14, 1961, he married Anne Strho, who survives. Also surviving are a son, George M. Suhon of West Alexander; two daughters, Elaine Yerger of Cecil and Cheryl Gavazzi of Eldersville; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters, Anna M. Harding of Washington and Margaret Gagliani of Cleveland, Ohio. Deceased is a brother, John Suhon, who died June 16, 1996.

Helen Wasuchno
Longtime Muse resident
Helen Wasuchno, 87, of Muse, died Friday, February 6, 1998, at Manor Care in McMurray. She was born June 22, 1910, in Strabane, a daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Sedora Hrabcsak. Mrs. Wasuchno had lived most of her life in Muse and was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Canonsburg. A homemaker, she had been employed at the former Union Supply Co. in Muse. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Surviving are two sons, William Wasuchno of Washington and John Andrew Wasuchno of Canonsburg; a sister, Elizabeth Peters, with whom she made her home; a brother, Charles "Hollie" Hrabcsak of Strabane; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Phillip T. Wasuchno Sr., who died April 25, 1982; a son, Phillip "Fum" Wasuchno, who died June 7, 1997; a sister, Dorothy Brown; and two brothers, Andrew and Albert Hrabcsak.

John P. Yoho
Retired from Columbia Gas after 47 years of service
John P. "Pat" Yoho, 94, of McDonald, died Sunday, February 8, 1998, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital. He was born July 23, 1903, in Wileysville, W.Va., a son of John Randolph and Ida Moore Yoho. Mr. Yoho had worked as a foreman for Manufacturers Light and Heat, later known as Columbia Gas, and retired in 1968 following 47 years of service. He was a life member of the McDonald Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Washington County Firemen's Association, the Western Pennsylvania Firemen's Association and was a member of the former Sturgeon Eagles Club. In 1926, he married his first wife, Ellen Yoho, who died in 1939. In 1941, he married Martha Denny Yoho, who died in 1986. Surviving are three sons, Robert V. Yoho of Sacramento, Calif., Ralph Daudet of North Royalton, Ohio, and Darryl Daudet of Centerville, Va.; two daughters, Gladys M. Zombeck of Oakdale and Patricia J. Scott of McDonald; two brothers, James Yoho of Bolivar, Ohio, and Virgil Yoho of Wileysville, W.Va.; one sister, Oda Cross of Witchitaw, Texas; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. Deceased are three brothers, Cornel, Chancey and Verl Yoho, and two sisters, Ona Woods and Ophal LaMaster.

Louis J. Zomak
Crane operator at former McGraw-Edison
Louis J. Zomak, 90, formerly of Canonsburg, died Saturday, February 7, 1998, in Washington County Health Center. He was born December 13, 1907, in Austria-Hungary, a son of Steve and Theresa Evens Zomak. Mr. Zomak lived most of his life in Canonsburg, where he was a member of St. Patrick Worship Site of St. Patrick Parish. Prior to his retirement in May 1974, he was employed as a crane operator at the former McGraw-Edison Power Systems in Canonsburg. On October 19, 1935, he married Margaret E. Klapach, who died January 8, 1988. Surviving are a son, Louis T. Zomak of Cecil; a sister, Mary Bartock of Barnesboro; two granddaughters, Rachelle Ann Zomak and Debora Ann Houck; four half sisters, Margaret Pandoli, Irene Karpo, Florence Masson and Martha Ferrantelli; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Julia Toth; and two brothers, Joe and Stephen Zomak.

George R. Bosworth
Former Washington man was a veteran
George Raymond (Ray) Bosworth, 80 of New Port Richey, Fla., died Wednesday, January 7, 1998, at Munroe Regional Hospital in Ocala, Fla. He was born December 14, 1917, in Washington, a son of George and Grace Chadwick Bosworth. He was a machinist for Washington Steel Corp. and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was a member or the Model Airplane Builders of Pittsburgh. He spent most of his life in Washington, moving to Florida 15 years ago. On April 7, 1939, in Washington, he married Bette Kraus, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Betsie B. Smith of Little River, S.C.; three grandchildren, Billy Raymond and Brett G. Moninger, both of Washington and Bobbi M. Ciardella of Little River; and four great-grandchildren.

Ralph F. Fiorelli

Ralph F. Fiorelli, 76, of Longboat Key, Fla., formerly of Franklin Lakes, N. J., died Thursday, January 8, 1998, at home. He was born January 4, 1922, in Hamlin Station, a son of Achilles and Maria Tonetti Fiorelli. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a navigator bombardier in the Marine Air Corp, flying 68 bombing missions in the Pacific Theater. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was employed by Sears Roebuck Co. for 39 years, rising from a management trainee to the position of general manager of the New York Group. Surviving is his wife, Gloria Tessaro Fiorelli; three daughters, Gloria Pollock of Pittsburgh, Ada Wadell of Acworth, Ga., and Linda Fiorelli of Barrington Ill.; one son, Paul Fiorelli of Cincinnati, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Emily and Aaron Pollock, Justin and Lindsay Wadell, Katherine, Stephanie and Joseph Fiorelli; and four sisters, Anna Ceresa of Phoenix, Ariz., Jean Strapazzon and Alice Chuburko, both of Langeloth and Lillie Ragnoli of Bradenton, Fla.

Russell "Abe" Gump, 71, of Dilliner R.D.1, died 1:32 a.m. Friday, January 9, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital. He was born October 8, 1926, in Greene County, a son of Milo Gump and Ethel Augusta Britton Gump Price. He was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle Assembly of God. Surviving are a sister, Bertha May Wolfe of Florida; two brothers, Fred L. Gump of Greensboro R.D.1 and Chester N. Gump of Derry; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Shirl and Arthur Gump; and his stepfather, Oscar Price.

Eva McCaffrey

Eva McCaffrey, 93, of 175 Orchard Street, Muse, died at 3:50 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 1998, in the home of her daughter, Anna Grace Hawkey of 98 Tamaqui Village, Beaver. She was born November 12, 1904, in McDonald, a daughter of Nicholas and Flora Campbell Meyer. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church of Muse and spent most of her life in Muse. Surviving is a daughter, Anna Grace Hawkey of Beaver; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is her husband, James B. McCaffrey, who died November 3, 1971; and two sons, Paul McCaffrey and John J. "Jay" McCaffrey.

Allen R. Middleton
Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westland
The Rev. Allen R. Middleton, 72, of 125 Venus Circle, Freedom, died Tuesday, January 6, 1998, in University Hospital, Augusta, Ga., after a brief illness while vacationing. He was born March 3, 1925, in Pittsburgh, a son of Randolph Middleton and Jessie Thornton Middleton of Midland. He was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Westland for 27 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Crucible Steel Co.'s Colt Industries of Midland after 42 years of service during which he held the position of foreman for 15 years. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife of 50 years, Shirley Waldron Middleton; a son, Allen Middleton Jr. of Augusta, Ga.; a sister, Bernice Dickey of Midland; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Deceased are two brothers.
