Norman Joseph "Trigger" Faure, 67, of Cecil, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in Washington Hospital.
He was born April 12, 1930, in Pittsburgh, a son of Henry J. and Marie Schreiner Faure.
He was a member of Muse Independent Club and the Slovenian National Home of Bishop.
A lifelong resident of Cecil, Mr. Faure was an avid hunter.
Surviving are a sister, Lois Jean Stutts of Canonsburg; two brothers, Raymond Faure Sr. and Robert J. Faure Sr., both of Cecil; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Regis Faure.
Florence H. Fefolt
Founding member of Venetia PTA
Florence H. Dernoshek Fefolt, 85, of Finleyville, died Saturday, February 28, 1998.
She was born February 26, 1913, in Wick Haven, a daughter of Helena Galub and Ludwig Dernoshek.
She was one of the founding members of Venetia PTA.
For many years, she was employed at the Venetia School in food service.
She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild in Finleyville.
Mrs. Fefolt was interested in her Slovenian heritage and had made many trips to Slovenia.
Her husband of 65 years, Louis Fefolt, is deceased.
Surviving are two sons, L. Ray Fefolt of Finleyville and Dennis A. Fefolt of Canonsburg; a daughter, Dorothy Schwerha of Peters Township; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Pompermayer of Venetia and Dorothy Bateson of Pittsburgh.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two brothers, Ludwig and Florian Dernoshek; and three sisters, Lana Gaber, Pauline Strojan and Mildred Dubs.
Gina Filipponi
Retired business teacher, guidance counselor
Gina Filipponi, 77, of Slovan, died Saturday, February 28, 1998, in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born April 13, 1920, in Bavington (Windy Hill), a daughter of Ralph and Albina Grilli Filipponi.
She was a graduate of Union High School in Burgettstown and the University of Pittsburgh with cum laude undergraduate and graduate degrees. While an undergraduate, she was a member of the Business Education Honorary, Delta Delta Lambda and the Education Honorary Pi Lambda Theta.
She was also a member of the Graduate Business Honorary, Delta Pi Epsilon and Pitt Italian National Room Committee.
For 42 years, Miss Filipponi was employed by Burgettstown Area School District as a business teacher and guidance counselor.
In 1979, she was selected Pennsylvania's Outstanding Business Educator by Pennsylvania Business Educators Association and was honored with a lifetime membership in Tri-State Business Educators Association.
On June 11, 1982, she was awarded "Citizen of the Year" honors by the Burgettstown Lions Club.
She actively participated in numerous professional organizations, including the National Education Association, Pennsylvania State Education Association, Burgettstown Area Education Association and Pennsylvania Business Educators Association.
She served on the board of directors for Burgettstown Community Library.
She was a member of Slovan Cameo Club and Bridge Club.
Miss Filipponi was a member and an elder of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Burgettstown.
Surviving are four sisters, Dina Filipponi, her twin; Irene Abate and Clara Giacomelli, all of Slovan, and Mary DiOrio of Burgettstown; two brothers, William Filipponi and Dante Filipponi, both of Slovan; and several nieces and nephews.

John David Hennick, 49, of Lexington, Ky., died Friday, February 27, 1998.
He was born September 30, 1948, in Washington, a son of Virginia Joan Hennick Wise and the late John David Hennick Sr.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his stepfather, Lloyd Wise; four brothers, Randy and Westley Hennick and Frank and Wayne Wise; a stepbrother, Lloyd Wise Jr.; four sisters, Darla Miller, Verna Ballard, Lisa Estepp and Marcia Rowland; three stepsisters, Fran Dewitt, Midge Cole and Diana Cain; and several nieces and nephews.
Benjamin F. Lewis III
McDonald High graduate, U.S. Navy veteran
Benjamin Franklin Lewis III, 68, of McDonald, died Saturday, February 28, 1998, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born July 15, 1929, in McDonald, a son of Benjamin Franklin Jr. and Henrietta Purdy Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was a 1948 graduate of McDonald High School.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS DesMoines.
Before retiring in 1991, he was employed for 43 years as a supervisor by O'Hommell Co. in Carnegie.
He was a member of Chartiers Lodge 297 F&AM of Canonsburg, a former commander of American Legion Post 485 and a 1968 master of Garfield Lodge No. 604.
On August 20, 1955, he married Gene Vanhorenbeck, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Debbie J. Pusateri and Gayle Shaffer, both of McDonald; a sister, Viola Klimas of McDonald; and three grandchildren, Ernie Jr., Michelle and Jason Pusateri.
Marian L. Miller

Marian Louise Miller, 74, of Beech Street, Washington, died at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a six-week illness.
She was born September 27, 1923, in Washington County, a daughter of Lawrence E. and Virginia Wolfe Lytton.
She was a homemaker and a former employee of Victory Diner and Doghouse Restaurant.
Mrs. Miller was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church and had been associated with the ARC.
On September 25, 1939, she married Robert S. Miller, who died in September 1985.
Surviving are three sons, Robert C. Miller and Donald L. Miller, both of Avella, and Curtis L. Miller of Western Center, Canonsburg; a daughter, Margaret Yost of Wellsburg, W.Va.; two brothers, Lawrence E. Lytton of Washington and Mark D. Lytton of Long Beach, Calif.; three sisters, Alice Kelley of Hickory, Joanne Anderson of Washington and Geraldine Higgs of North Hollywood, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two grandchildren, Janet and Janice Miller; and a sister, Ada Mae Earls.

Roena S. Mulac, 68, of Glassport, died Sunday, March 1, 1998, in her home.
She was born March 5, 1929, in Dodridge County, W.Va., a daughter of Ralph and Mona Doak Smith.
She was a former employee of Bell Telephone and a member of their Pioneer Club.
She also worked at Blue Bird Restaurant in Clairton.
Mrs. Mulac was a member of the Dravosburg Senior Citizens, the West Mifflin and Blaine Hill AARPs and the Rebeccas of West Mifflin.
She was a social member of the VFW of Clairton and West Newton, a member of St. Martin dePorres Catholic Church, McKeesport, and a Christian Mother.
Her husband, Mark Mulac, is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Ann Mulac of Castle Shannon and Theresa L. Murphy of Peters Township; two brothers, Alvin D. Smith and F. Gilfred Smith, both of Elizabeth; two sisters, Roseanne Grimenstein and Lavonne Keller, both of West Mifflin; and three grandchildren, Kimberley, Katherine and Mark Murphy, all of Peters Township.

WWII veteran worked for Yellow Cab Co.
Warwick Maurice Phillips, 78, of Dilliner R.D.1 (Taylortown), died Friday, February 27, 1998, in his home.
He was born April 13, 1919, in Adrian, W.Va., a son of Warwick M. and Nora Madden Phillips.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Phillips worked as a driver and dispatcher for Yellow Cab Co.
On June 12, 1938, he married Betty L. Smith, with whom he celebrated 59 years of marriage.

Dorothy L. Rice, 87, formerly of Cloverdale Avenue, Canonsburg, died Friday, February 27, 1998, in Horizon Senior Care, Canonsburg.
She was born December 5, 1910, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of George and Marie Kophner Mansfield.
Mrs. Rice was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church and had been active as a Girl Scout leader.
On February 3, 1932, she married Charles E. Rice, who died June 10, 1991.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Smith of Canonsburg and Marilyn Toland of Arizona; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lois Amicone of Pittsburgh's North Hills area and Ruth Klose of Pittsburgh's South Hills.

Mary Jane Sara, 74, of Main Street, Bentleyville, died Saturday, February 28, 1998, at her daughter's home in Connecticut.
She was born July 10, 1923, in Bentleyville, a daughter of Antonio and Nicolina DiMeo Sicchitano.
For many years, she worked as a waitress at the former Bentleyville Truck Stop. She was a graduate of Bentleyville High School and a member of Ava Maria Parish.
Surviving are a daughter, Andrea Wilson of New Milford, Conn.; a son, Daniel Sara of Ellsworth; two sisters, Louise Kubala of Indiana and Eleanor Spridik of Bentleyville; five grandchildren, Jared, Eric and Sara Wilson and Alan and Kristen Sara; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Andrew J. Sara, who died October 30, 1978; five brothers, Bruno, Nicholas, Dominic, Anthony and Joseph Sicchitano; and four sisters, Mary Ann Pollifroni, Theresa Malarbi, Rosemary Cox and Cossetta Wasil.

Adam Skokut, 72, of Fitz Henry Road, Smithton, died Saturday, February 28, 1998, in his home.
He was born May 15, 1925, in Monongahela, a son of Frank and Millie Radosavich Skokut.
He was a 1944 graduate of Charleroi High School.
On June 12, 1949, he married Mary Louise Yilit, who survives.
Mr. Skokut was a lifelong dairyman in South Huntingdon Township.
He attended Christian & Missionary Alliance Church in New Stanton. He was on the board of directors for Bentleyville Union Holiness Campmeeting Association.
He also served for 10 years as a member of the board of directors for PA Farmers Union Milk Marketing Board.
Surviving are three daughters, Elaine Patterson and Joyce Cunningham, both of Smithton, and Sonya Justice of Akron, Ohio; a son, Adam J. Skokut of Smithton; nine grandchildren, Joshua and Gretchen Cunningham, Samantha Skokut, Melayni, Daniel and Juliette Patterson, and Jessica, Nolan and Olivia Justice; five brothers, Miller Skokut of Independence, Ohio, Nick Skokut of Monongahela, Louis Skokut of Scenery Hill, Louie Skokut of Paso Robles, Calif., and Sam Skokut of Ruffsdale; two sisters, Bernice Skokut of Monongahela and Milicent Nehrebecki of Bentleyville; and several nieces and nephews.
Floyd E. Moore
Retired dairy farmer, former Kroger produce manager
Floyd E. Moore, 67, of Morey Road, Fredericktown (Deemston Borough), died unexpectedly at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 1998, in the emergency room at Brownsville General Hospital.
He was born July 1, 1930, in Beallsville, a son of Allison F. and Winona Sargent Moore.
Mr. Moore was a graduate of Beallsville High School and was retired self-employed dairy farmer. He was also a former produce manger for the Kroger stores the Pittsburgh area.
He was veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Helen L. Noble Moore; one son, William A. Moore of Mechanicsburg; one daughter, Holly Jo Moore of Scenery Hill; one granddaughter, Rachel Ann Moore; one bother, Norman G. Moore of Fredericktown; and several nieces and nephews.
Decease are a son, Douglas E. Moore, who died August 12, 1990, a brother, A. Wayne Moore, who died November 4, 1991; and a sister, Betty Weaver, who died April 2, 1993.

Myrtle I. Anderson, 98, of Waynesburg, formerly of Dilliner R.D.1, died at 2:15 a.m. Friday, March 20, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
She was born April 14, 1899, in Diana, W.Va., a daughter of John and Mary Mackey.
Mrs. Anderson was Baptist and resided in the Dilliner area most of her life.
On March 12, 1920, she married Austin Anderson, who died February 25, 1969.
Surviving are three sons, Arley A. Anderson of Carmichaels, Roy J. Anderson of Dilliner R.D.1 and Robert J. Anderson of Gibsonburg, Ohio; a daughter, Marie Zaby of Williamsport; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gay Marstiller and Nell Ackerman, both of Newton Falls, Ohio; a half-brother, Joshua Mackey of West Virginia; two half-sisters, Grace Mackey of West Virginia and Belle Burton of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Devolia J. "Dolly" Empfield Baroni, 73, of Atlasburg, died Friday, March 20, 1998, at her home, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 7, 1924, in Milhiem, a daughter of the late William Empfield and Margaret Graham Empfield of Spring Mills.
Mrs. Baroni was past president of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post 41 of Pittsburgh.
She enjoyed collecting Civil War memorabilia and was interested in the study of genealogy.
Her husband, Russell P. Baroni, is deceased.

William Austin Cratty, 88, of North Charleroi, died Friday, March 20, 1998, in his home.
He was born April 27, 1909, in North Charleroi, a son of William Alexander Oliver and Maude Gehoe Cratty.
Mr. Cratty was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are two sons, Austin A. Cratty of Rostraver Township and David N. Cratty of Fallowfield Township; three brothers, Glenn Cratty of Michigan, Robert Cratty of North Carolina and Charles Cratty of Arizona; a sister, Laverne Ellsworth of Charleroi; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Deceased are his wife, Katherine Cratty, who died in 1986; a brother, John E. Cratty, who died in 1966; and three sisters, Blanche Hall, Pearl Woodward and Olive Lochmuller.

She was Catholic and a former resident of New Salem.
Mrs. Dunlap retired from Canonsburg Youth Development Center.

Mrs. Guerri was a member of Friendship Community Church, Washington.
She was a graduate of South Huntingdon High School and was employed for 30 years by AAA West Penn/West Virginia in its membership department.
Mrs. Guerri enjoyed crafts.

Catherine Sperl Linn

Catherine Sperl Linn, 85, of Girard Township, formerly of West Springfield, Waterford and Washington, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, in Pleasant Ridge Manor Care, Girard Township.
She was born April 13, 1912, in Washington, a daughter of Louis and Mary Gregor Sperl.
Mrs. Linn was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, where she participated in the Christian Mothers group. She later attended Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Waterford.
A 1929 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, she was employed for 24 years at the G.C. Murphy Co. store in Washington until her retirement in 1974.
Mrs. Linn enjoyed playing cards, playing the piano and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On June 10, 1940, in Immaculate Conception Church, with the Rev. Martin J. Hughes officiating, she married Harry "Bud" Linn, who died in 1965.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Maggi of Claysville, Louise Keeler of West Springfield and Mary Oberley of Waterford; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are two brothers, Carl and Louis "Red" Sperl; and four sisters, Celia and Josephine Sperl, Therese Stauffer and Marie Meneely.
Robert Lee McClain
Retired as blacksmith for Weirton Steel
Robert Lee McClain, 57, of Avella, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, in Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center.
He was born June 10, 1940, in Burgettstown, a son of the late Stanley and Ivey Zacour McClain.
Mr. McClain had lived in Avella since 1976.
He worked for Weirton Steel Corp. for 26 years as a blacksmith before retiring in 1990, and was a member of the Independent Steelworkers Union of Weirton.
On June 6, 1962, he married Barbara Rockey, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Anthony T. of Washington and Robert Jr., James and Randy L. McClain, all of Avella; three sisters, Marlene Antonetti of Burgettstown, Darlene Shield of Aliquippa and Donna Yeager of Westerville, Ohio; a brother, Donald McClain of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and three grandchildren.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a sister, Delores Holloway; and two brothers, Kenneth and Gerald McClain.
Grace M. Miller
Schoolteacher for 40 years
Grace M. Miller, 98, of West Middletown, died Thursday, March 19, 1998, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington.
She was born January 22, 1900, in Burnsville, a daughter of William H. and Bessie Carroll Martin.
Since 1920, she lived in West Middletown, where she was a member of Grove United Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Miller was a schoolteacher, teaching in Avella Area School District for more than 40 years before retiring in 1968. She was a member of Pennsylvania Association of Retired Teachers and Independence Grange 179.
Surviving are a son, William H. Miller of Houston; a daughter, Betty Jean Bout of Washington; a sister, Cecelia Lantz of Mechanicsburg; and a brother, Charles E. Martin of Avella; seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
On July 25, 1920, she married Howard Clark Miller, who died September 29, 1954.
Also deceased are four sisters, Helen Hall, Betty Surace, Hazel Robinson and Marie Foster; and a brother, William H. Martin.

Word has been received of the death of Elizabeth Mumper, 84, of 3306 Straight Road, Fredonia, N.Y., who died Thursday, March 12, 1998, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, N.Y.
She was born March 23, 1913, in Taylorstown, a daughter of Levi and Lillie Ross Frye.
Mrs. Mumper had been a Fredonia area resident since 1942.
She belonged to First Christian Church of Dunkirk, of which she was a 50-year member of both its Women's Fellowship and Mary Martha Circle.
Surviving are a son, Melvin E. Mumper of Canton, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Melvin C. Mumper; and three brothers and four sisters.
Earl R. Petre Jr.

Word has been recieved of the death of Earl R. Petre Jr., 46, who died March 9, 1998, in Peters Township.
Mr. Petre was born May 16, 1951, in New Eagle, a son of Mildred Farnsworth Petre of Peters Township and the late Earl R. Petre Sr., who died May 21, 1997.
He was a veteran of U.S. military service and was employed as a clerk in vital records.

George John Varley III, 46, of Jefferson Avenue, Avella, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 1998, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, where he had been a patient since January 24.
He was born May 25, 1951, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late George John II and Viola Boyd Varley.
Mr. Varley attended Christian Faith Assembly of Wellsburg, W.Va., and was president of International Wipe Corp. of Wellsburg.
He was a graduate of Bethel Park High School and New York University.
On August 6, 1996, he married Elizabeth Ann Fullen, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Daniel, Timothy and Jonathan Swope at home; a daughter, Rebekah Swope, also at home; and a sister, Virginia of Upper St. Clair.
