Sara E. McCulley
Longtime member of Dallas Methodist Church
Sara Elizabeth Bruner McCulley, 84, of West Alexander (West Finley Township), died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington, following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 25, 1913, in Ohio County, W.Va., a daughter of Wilbur and Nettie Grimes Bruner.
Mrs. McCulley was a longtime member of Dallas Methodist Church, Dallas, W.Va.
She attended Center Grade School and West Liberty High School, both in West Virginia.
Mrs. McCulley was a homemaker and, along with her husband, operated the family farm for many years.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
On January 16, 1937, in Wheeling, W.Va., she married Albert Nelson McCulley, who died January 11, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Bernard McCulley of West Finley and Harold Lee McCulley of West Alexander; two daughters, Betty Ann Kelso of Melbourne, Fla., and Doris Errett of Hickory; two sisters, Helen Childers of Elm Grove, W.Va., and Ruth Jones of Bethany, W.Va.; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, is a brother, Carl Bruner.
Helen Schilinski

Helen Schilinski, 82, of Slovan, died Monday, July 27, 1998, in her home.
She was born August 15, 1915, in Providence, R.I., a daughter of John and Ann Yountis Smith.
Mrs. Schilinski was a homemaker.
Surviving are a sister, Agnes McClelland of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Joseph Schilinski, who died October 10, 1975; three brothers, Mickey, John and Stanley Smith; and three sisters, Ann Crable, Jennie O'Neal and Evelyn Glunda.
Andy Wargo
WWII veteran was member of St. Hilary Church
Andy Wargo, 88, formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Brightwood Nursing Home, Follansbee, W.Va.
He was born June 18, 1910, in Pine Flats, a son of John and Sofia Patrina Wargo.
He was a member of St. Hilary Church of Washington.
Mr. Wargo was a retired employee of the city of Washington. He served with the Fifth Army Air Force during World War II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion in Washington.
Surviving are two brothers, Paul Wargo of Wichita, Kan., and Steve Wargo of Follansbee; and two sisters, Helen Dryer of Eldersville and Betty Pratt of New Cumberland, W.Va.
Deceased are his wife, Ada Wargo, who died September 9, 1988; four brothers; and three sisters.
Mary Victoria Calabro
Member of Christian Church of North America
Mary Victoria Calabro, 98, of Humbert Lane Health Care Center, formerly of Campbell Avenue, Washington, died Thursday, July 2, 1998.
She was born April 24, 1900, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of John and Mary Marra Bonus.
Mrs. Calabro was a homemaker.
She was a member of Christian Church of North America, Victoria Lodge 76 and the Alpine Club. She also enjoyed cooking.
In 1920, she married Carl Calabro. who died May 9, 1978.
Surviving are five sons, John Ferrer of Washington, Frank Calabro of Cleveland, Ohio, Sam Calabro of Washington, Paul Calabro of Indianapolis, Ind., and Louis Calabro of Washington; a brother, John Bonus of Washington; a sister, Josephine Oliverio of Pittsburgh; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Rose Calabro; a sister, Rose Bonus; and five brothers, Joseph, Samuel, Sarty, Dominic and Frank Bonus.
Sara Ann Chappel
Member of Meadow Lands Methodist Church
Sara Ann Chappel, 74, of Sunset Boulevard, Washington, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in her home. She had been in declining health since 1992.
She was born August 18, 1923, in Meadow Lands, a daughter of John "Crabby" Hoeffler Sr. and Margorie Whitfield Hoeffler.
Mrs. Chappel was a homemaker, a member of Meadow Lands Methodist Church and attended Chartiers-Houston High School.
On February 4, 1949, she married James Franklin Chappel, who died October 23, 1966.
Surviving are a son, Franklin Lee Chappel of Washington; a daughter, Barbara Ann Chappel of Washington; and two grandchildren, Christopher Lee and Nathan James Chappel.
Deceased are two brothers, Lee and John Hoeffler Jr.; and a sister, Lucille Chappel.
Mary Louise Farrell

Mary Louise Farrell, 83, of Carmichaels, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in her home.
She was born May 27, 1915, in Carmichaels, a daughter of Norval and Addie Richey Smith.
Mrs. Farrell was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels, Greene County Farm Women and Carmichaels Grange.
On June 27, 1936, she married Harry H. Farrell, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, H. Michael Farrell of Middletown, Md.; and a grandson, Bradley Michael Farrell.
Deceased are three brothers, Claude, J. Clarence and Paul N. Smith; and a sister, Virginia Hill.
Christine L. Johnson
Member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church
Christine L. Johnson, 32, of Mt. Morris R.D.1, died at 8:25 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va., of injuries received from being thrown off a horse.
She was born May 19, 1966, in Akron, Ohio, a daughter of Reubena Riley Johnson of Mt. Morris R.D.1 and Paul George Gilblom.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of Valley Chapel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was treasurer of the United Methodist Women.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Jaycees in Morgantown, W.Va., and the P.T.T. Parents Group at Perry Elementary School.
On December 21, 1985, she married Joseph Glenn Johnson, who survives.
Also surviving, in addition to her parents, are her stepfather, John L. Johnson of Mt. Morris R.D.1; three sons, Christopher Glenn, Taylor William and Tyler James Johnson, all at home; two sisters, Nichole Taylor of Dilliner and Glennda Russell of Waynesburg; two brothers, Scott Gilblom of Mt. Morris and Andrew Gilblom of Core, W.Va.; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Gilblom of Akron, Ohio; and seven nieces and nephews.
T. Dale King
Veteran of World War II was retired glassworker
T. Dale King, 71, of Waynesburg, formerly of Time (Dogtown), died at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in Rolling Meadows Nursing Home after being in failing health for the past three years.
He was born October 16, 1926, in Pittsburgh, a son of Sylvester Theodore and Vera Elizabeth Llewellyn King.
Mr. King resided in Time for more than 40 years before moving back to Waynesburg in 1992.
He was Protestant.
He was a former member and trophy winner with the East Finley Horseshoe Club. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball with the Enon Baseball Team and also enjoyed building miniature houses of balsa wood as a hobby.
Mr. King was a veteran of World War II, serving as a private first class with the Headquarters Squadron of the 20th Army Air Force.
He was an employee of the former Findlay Clay Co., Washington, and was last employed as a laborer at the former Hazel Atlas Glass Plant 2 in Washington for several years prior to his retirement.
Surviving are a brother, Orville B. King of Carmichaels; three sisters, Erla J. Phillips of Washington, Lois E. Stollar of Brunswick, Ohio, and Elverna M. Ackley of Waldorf, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.
All services for Mr. King will be private and held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
John Klimas

John "Bud" Klimas, 71, of McDonald, died Thursday, July 2, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg.
Friends will be received Sunday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, and a funeral will be held Monday. A full obituary and funeral notice will be published in a later edition.
Philo Malone
Former meter reader for Keystone Gas Co.
Philo P. Malone, 90, of Washington, died Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in Washington Hospital.
He was born June 7, 1908, in Washington County, a son of Wray J. and Mary Paul Malone.
He attended Pancake School.
Prior to his retirement, he worked as a meter reader for Keystone Gas Co.
On May 21, 1925, in Weirton, W.Va., he married Leola Walker, who died November 10, 1991.
Surviving are two sons, Wray Malone of Phoenix, Ariz., and Philo L. Malone of Canonsburg; a daughter, Nona Quinn of Uniontown; seven grandchildren, James, Scott, Mary and Jerry Quinn, Linda Gearing, and Dennis and Scott Malone; and nine great-grandchildren.
Deceased is his sister, Martha Ellen Snyder.
Daniel Edward Morris
World War II veteran worked at Ward Electric
Daniel Edward Morris, 86, of North Main Street, Washington, died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 1998, in Washington Hospital. He had been ill since March.
He was born October 15, 1911, in Waynesburg, a son of Daniel H. and Alma Lillian Brooks Morris.
Mr. Morris had been employed at Ward Electric for more than 40 years.
He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Sunset Lodge 623 F&AM, the G.B.U. and Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
Mr. Morris was a 1930 graduate of Washington High School and a 1937 graduate of Washington and Jefferson College.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater in the Rhineland, Normandy, Ardennes, Northern France and Central Europe. He earned the expert infantry badge, E.A.M.E. with five battle stars and the Good Conduct Medal.
On April 19, 1949, he married Eleanor Sheldon, who died in 1965. On April 19, 1965, he married Mildred Louise Schroyer, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Daniel E. and Douglas B. Morris, both of Washington, and Marvin Lutes of Imperial, Mo.; two daughters, Carrie S. Vanderlee and Patricia Lutes, both of Washington; a brother, George Morris of Greenville, S.C.; nine grandchildren, Andrew and Andrea Lutes, Lori Steen, Amy Gonzales, Daniel and Joseph Lutes, Danielle, Michelle and Shawna Vanderlee; and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, John Morris; and a sister, Dorothy Morris.

Incorrect information appeared in the obituary of Daniel Edward Morris, published Friday. He married his second wife in 1968, not 1965.
Ronald Dale Clutter

Ronald Dale Clutter, 41, of the state of California, died June 30, 1998, in California.
He was born October 23, 1956, in Chatteraux, France, a son of Richard D. and Patricia Seaman Clutter of San Antonio, Texas.
Surviving are his daughter, Heather Clutter Bullard of Washington; three brothers, Robert Donald Clutter of San Antonio, Raymond Clutter of Houston, Texas, and Richard Clutter of San Antonio; a sister, Tonita Morgan of Clearlake, Calif.; and three nieces and two nephews.
Interment in Floresville City Cemetery, Texas.
Jose Falcion
Danced on Broadway and television
Jose Falcion (Joseph Frank Falcioni), 70, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., originally of Canonsburg, a former dancer on Broadway and television, died July 18, 1998, of a heart attack.
He was born June 20, 1928, in Canonsburg, a son of Frank and Elizabeth Falcioni.
Mr. Falcion was a veteran of the Korean War, serving with the U.S. Army.
He had an extensive career in entertainment as a dancer. He was with the Pittsburgh Civic Ligh Opera for five years and was in 39 shows on Broadway in New York. He was on television for 22 years with the "Hit Parade," "Ed Sullivan," "Perry Como," "Sid Caesar," "Kraft Mystery Theater" and "Jackie Gleason."
Mr. Falcion danced with the Jack Cole Dance Company, the Beatrice Kraft Dancers, the Tally Beatty Dance Company and the June Taylor Dancers. He was director/choreographer for the Deauville Hotel in Miami Beach for nine years, choreographed "The King and I" ballet at the Eden Roc Hotel and choreographed the King Orange Bowl Parade in Miami for 11 years. Mr. Falcion also appeared on the "Donald O'Connor" and "Tony Martin" shows in Las Vegas, Nev.
He retired after managing two dance studios in the Miami area.
Surviving are two brothers, James of Pittsburgh and Paul of Canonsburg; and four nephews and a niece. Living in the area is one of the nephews, Paul Falcioni Jr. of Houston, and a niece, Kristine Falcioni Rosenwald of Canonsburg.
Michael T. Hilling

Michael T. Hilling, 46, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, July 29, 1998, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown.
He was born July 16, 1952, in Uniontown, a son of George W. Hilling of Uniontown and the late Ruth Ellen Michner.
Mr. Hilling was a member of Central Christian Church of Uniontown and the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Elks, both in Waynesburg.
He was employed as an income maintenance case worker for the Department of Public Welfare in Greene County and was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam.
Surviving are his wife, Gretchen S. Brown Hilling; two sons Michael and Sean; two daughters, Lisa and Nicole; a grandson, Elijah; three brothers, Gary of St. Paul, Minn., Kenneth of Mt. Pleasant and Keith Hilling of Uniontown; a sister, Karen Beckman of Mason, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
Joseph S. Lacko
Retired teacher from Monongahela
Joseph S. Lacko, 85, of Monongahela, died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
He was born March 23, 1913, in Munhall, a son of John and Anna Lacko.
Mr. Lacko retired after 35 years as a school teacher at Munhall High School.
He graduated from Duquesne University, Pittsburgh and was a member of Thomas Presbyterian Church in Eighty Four and Monongahela Elks Lodge 455.
Surviving are four sons, John D. Lacko of Jacksonville, Fla., Judd Lacko of Ruff Creek, James E. Lacko of Monongahela and Paul L. Lacko of Rogersville; a brother, Edward Lacko of Georgia; two sisters, Martha of Galveston, Texas, and Olga; and 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Deceased are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Judson Lacko, who died November 10, 1991; and three brothers, Frank, Emro and John.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
