World War II vet was retired coal miner
John F. Yasek, 80, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, October 13, 1998, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born June 16, 1918, in Ellsworth, a son of Joseph and Susan Hmurdorivich Yasek.
Mr. Yasek was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a retired coal miner at BethEnergy Mine No. 51 in Ellsworth.
He was a member Ave Maria Parish, Bentleyville and UMWA Local 1197.
Surviving are his wife, Madeline Yancoskie; four sons, Andrew Yasek of Emporium, John Yasek of Ellsworth, Joseph Yasek of Washington and Edward Yasek of Charleroi; a daughter, Lorraine Stedman of Ellsworth; a sister, Mary Pawlus of Eatonton, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Joseph Yasek; and two sisters, Ann Gelb and Theresa Zondor.
James DeYulils
Loved camping, traveling and computers
James Fred DeYulils, 76, of Indian Head, Md., died October 4, 1998, in his home.
He was born February 15, 1922, in Monongahela, a son of Domenic and Nicola DeYulils.
Mr. DeYulils was an electrician/armature winder at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, until he retired on disability in July 1975.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from November 1942 to December 1945, participating in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He also earned the Purple Heart.
Mr. DeYulils was a member of Holy Name Society, REACT Club, DAV Chapter 36 and St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Indian Head. He had coached Little League baseball for 10 years, served as a Boy Scout leader and loved camping, traveling and computers.
Surviving are his wife, Olga R. Watson DeYulils; two sons, James F. DeYulils Jr. of Waldorf and Harry J. DeYulils of Ashburn, Va.; three daughters, Rosemarie Fuchs of Indian Head, Gloria J. Burnley of Dahlgren, Va., and Dorothy L. Grimes of Indian Head; two sisters, Mary Popp of Portage, Ind., and Rose Champ of Bedford; a brother, John DeYulils of Thontasasa, Fla.; grandchildren Tina Clements, Diana L. Dennin, Charlotte M. Moore, Catherine A. Hansen and Rose L. Burnley, William S. Burnley IV, James F. DeYulils III, Josephine D. Forsythe, Cheri A. Girardin, A. Allen Grimes Jr., Jason T. Grimes, Trevor A. Grimes and Sarah A. DeYulils; and seven great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Margaret Polinsky; and a grandson, Larry E. Luttrell Jr.
A Mass was held October 8 in St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Goode officiating. Burial followed at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf.

She was born October 20, 1954, a daughter of Floyd D. and Janet M. Shoup of Canonsburg.
Mrs. Keddie owned and operated Roll R Skate Inc. of Canonsburg.
She was a member of Lexington Court Garden Club of Peters Township.
Surviving ,in addition to her parents, are her husband, R. P. Keddie; a sister, Linda Miner; and several nieces and nephews.
Loretta C. Malone
Retired from Lang's department store
Loretta C. Malone, 85, of Henderson Road, Hickory, died at 6 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 1998, in Washington Hospital, after a brief illness.
She was born December 13, 1912, in Bulger, a daughter of William and Margaret Penderville Clark.
Mrs. Malone was a member of Southview Guardian Angel Church in Southview.
She attended Burgettstown High School where she was on the track team and won many gold medals.
Mrs. Malone worked in Mt. Pleasant Township at Rea Mine and Clark Cole Mine, which was owned by her father.
She was later employed at Lang's Department Store in Washington Mall from which she retired.
On July 11, 1936, she married Leroy Alvin Malone, who died July 3, 1993.
Surviving are a son, Leroy William Malone of Hickory; a brother, Jack C. Clark of Lawrence; four sisters, Margaret Brown of Hickory, Helen Cummins and Lois Brust of Washington, Mona Lee Riley of Mt. Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, William Clark and Carson Clark, who died in infancy.
Eleanor S. Moore
Active in planning school integration
Eleanor S. Moore, a longtime resident of Annapolis, Md., died October 7, 1998, in the Health Center of Winter Park Towers, a retirement community in Winter Park, Fla. She survived two episodes of breast cancer and the cause of her death at 97 was a heart attack.
Mrs. Moore was the widow of Thomas W. Moore, a mathematics professor at the Naval Academy who grew up in Washington and graduated from Washington and Jefferson College.
Mrs. Moore was born June 2, 1901, in Chicago. She grew up in Elkins, W.Va., and Hagerstown, Md.
She received a bachelor's of arts degree from Western Reserve University and a master's degree in history from the University of Wisconsin. After teaching at Mississippi State College for Women, she began a doctorate program in history in Chicago, but left before completing the degree to become an assistant editor at the American Historical Review in New York.
After her marriage and move to Annapolis in 1940, she became active in planning for school integration and in helping to desegregate public housing. She later taught history at Annapolis High School. When the high school was integrated, she became the first adviser to the black students' organization. She also was an active member of First Presbyterian Church.
In 1983, she moved to Winter Park Towers. Her hobbies included reading and painting.
She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Moore Goslee of Knoxville, Tenn., and Roberta Moore MacGregor of Mystic, Conn.; four grandchildren, Susan Goslee and Hilary, Ian and Catherine MacGregor; and several nieces and nephews, including Donald Minor of Washington.
A memorial service will be held next month in Washington, where her husband is buried.

G. Robert Moore, 55, of Warrick Drive, Washington, died Tuesday, October 13, 1998.
He was born January 10, 1943, in Washington, a son of Waunita G. Wendell Moore of Washington and the late Paul Leslie "Chub" Moore.
Mr. Moore was a member of First Christian Church of Washington, where he had served as an elder and taught Sunday School.
He was an attorney and a member of American Bar Association.
Mr. Moore was a 1960 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School, and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Washington and Jefferson College. He received a commission in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a captain at Camp Lejeune.
He was a 1967 graduate of Vanderbilt Law School.
Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Carol Ann Maddock Moore, whom he married December 28, 1965; a son, Aaron Maddock Moore of Washington; a daughter Elizabeth Gribben Matush of Perryopolis; and a grandson, Austin Alexander Moore of Washington.
Deceased is a brother, Paul Edward Moore, who died in 1963.

Randall G. "Ike" Ward, 80, of 550 West Chestnut Street, Washington, died at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 1998, in Washington County Health Center, following a brief illness.
He was born May 20, 1918, in Washington, a son of Samuel R. and Sarah Margaret Wolf Ward.
Mr. Ward was a millwright for the former Kress Box Co., and had earlier worked at Hazel Atlas Glass Plant 2.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific and China.
In earlier years, he was an avid softball player. He enjoyed model trains.
On March 13, 1939, he married Elizabeth "Sis" Buchanan, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Jo Scott of Belpre, Ohio; four sons, William, John "Rick," Charles "Doug" and Jamie Ward, all of Washington; two sisters, Martha Barcoft of Oregon and Peggy Sobolosky of Monaca; 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a daughter, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Gump; three sisters, Betty Hill, Libby Ward and Virginia Evans; and four brothers, John, Kenneth, Leo and Wayne Ward.

Helen Marie Agnew, 78, of Donnan Avenue, Washington, died at 3:15 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 1998, in Kade Nursing Home, Washington, following a one-year illness.
Born February 12, 1920, in Washington, she was a daughter of Henry Rhodaback and Florence Perry Rhodaback Ewing.
Mrs. Agnew was a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church, Lincoln Chapter 112 Order of Eastern Star and Bethesda Shrine 25 White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She formerly had been employed by Phillip Moses Store, John's Beauty Shop, Co-Go's and was last employed by A&Z Supply.
On December 24, 1938, she married Edgar Bennett Agnew, who died November 17, 1975.
Surviving are a son, Edgar B. Agnew Jr. of Washington; two daughters, Shirley Ruth Alberta of Washington and Florence Ramsey of Belpre, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Melissa Scharf, Eddie and Amy Agnew, Mark and Kenneth Alberta, Lisa McHenry and Kerry Larimer Harman; and three great-grandchildren.

Robert E. Ames, 64, of Winterhaven, Fla., formerly of California, died September 27, 1998, in Palm Garden Care Facility, Winterhaven.
He was born January 10, 1934, a son of Josephine Ames of Elco and the late Emmor M. Ames.
Mr. Ames was an insurance agent, an active member of First Christian Church and a member of the Masonic F&AM Lodge.
His wife, Margaret Morris Ames, died October 23, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Denise Moore of Normal, Ill.; two sons, Robert A. Ames and Timothy Ray Ames, both of Winterhaven; two brothers, Kenneth E. Ames of Ellsworth and Terry R. Ames of Washington; a sister, Darla Scrip of Roscoe; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were held October 2 at the First Christian Church in Winterhaven, with the Rev. John Alfred officiating.

She was born July 20, 1905, in Hickory, a daughter of James and Anna Mae Kunkle.
She was a member of Midway Methodist Church and a charter member of the Midway Veterans of Foreign Wars ladies auxiliary.
On March 13, 1925, she married Albert Brun, who died in October 1969.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirlene Scott and Bobbetta Pollard, both of Midway; five grandchildren, Barbara Sawhill, Susan Jordan, Debra Maroni, Dawn Nuss and Charlie Pollard; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are four sisters, Mary Kunkle, Effie Culley, Beryle Poyle and Irene Almady.

Margaret C. Evanovich, 76, of McMurray, died Thursday, October 15, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg.
She was born May 3, 1922, in Hannastown, Westmoreland County, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Belensky.
Mrs. Evanovich lived most of her life in McMurray, where she was a member of St. Benedict the Abbot Roman Catholic Church.
She was a homemaker and a member of SNPJ Lodge 138 of Strabane.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Thomas Evanovich of McMurray and John Michael Evanovich of Bridgeville; six grandchildren, Randy, Jessica, Chelsea, Lacy, April and Michael Evanovich.
Deceased are her husband, Michael P. Evanovich, who died September 13, 1971; a brother, John Belensky; and three sisters, Mary Skoda, Ann Pelesky and Veronica Kisko.
She was the last of her immediate family.

While living in Canonsburg, she and her husband, Edward Krawczyk, operated the Krawczyk Funeral Home, formerly located on College Street, Canonsburg. She also was a member of St. Genevieve Catholic Church, Canonsburg.
Her husband died in 1984.
Surviving are a sister, Helen Dubas, with whom she made her home; a niece, Christine Matwijiw of Dearborn; and a nephew, Richard Matwijiw of Dearborn.

Mrs. Lucas was a homemaker and a member of St. Alphonsus Church, McDonald.
On April 23, 1947, she married Mike Lucas, who survives.

Joseph M. Malinsky

Joseph M. Malinsky, 64, of Masontown, died Thursday, October 15, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
He was born July 29, 1934, in Sunshine, a son of Carl J. and Elizabeth Washko Malinsky.
Mr. Malinsky retired from the U.S. Navy in 1981 after 30 years of service and at the rank of chief petty officer. He served in the Korean War. Following his military career and until 1996, he was the manager and coordinator for the Carmichaels Senior Citizens, and was instrumental in the purchase and renovation of the former Kesock Building.
He was a member of the AARP and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423.
Surviving are his stepmother, Anna A. Barrish Malinsky of Masontown; a daughter, Brandy L. Payne of Seattle, Wash.; a son, Joseph M. Malinsky Jr. of Columbus, Ohio; a grandson, Sagel Joseph Malinsky; two sisters, Delores Yancich of Ellicott City, Md., and Madelyn Weiss of Chicago, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth York Morgan, 71, of Willowbrook Lane, Washington, died Wednesday, October 14, 1998, in Presbyterian Medical Center, Washington.
She was born September 17, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Bryan Eugene and Mary Tilton York.
Mrs. Morgan was a member of First Baptist Church of Washington, where she was chairman of the board of trustees, Sunday school teacher and Bible director.
She was the president of Holiday Construction, Washington.
Mrs. Morgan was a graduate of Washington High School and a 1950 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, earning bachelor of arts degree.
She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, member of the League of Women Voters, the American Association of University Women, Literacy Council, Citizens Library Council and on the Board of Directors of the Washington County Builders Association.
Mrs. Morgan enjoyed gardening and snow skiing.
On December 29, 1951, in Washington, she married, Malcolm L. Morgan, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Dan Morgan of Denton, Texas; three daughters, Susan Morgan of Washington, Sally Scorzetti of Paoli and Nancy Cameron of McMurray; a brother, Don York of Washington; a sister, Florence Wheeler of Lake Mary, Fla.; and 12 grandchildren, Charity, Morgan and Summer Miller, Matthew, Peter and Jay Scorzetti, Tara and Quinn Morgan, Justin, Faith, Joel and Zach Cameron.

Mary Hughes Phillippi, 87, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, October 14, 1998, at her residence.
She born March 18, 1911, in Coal Lick, a daughter of Grover C. and Gail Jacobs Hughes.
Mrs. Phillippi was a graduate of Waynesburg College and Emmerson College, Boston, Mass.
She taught elementary school in Nineveh and Fordyce. In 1954, she moved to Oak Park, Mich., where she continued teaching until her retirement in 1975. She returned to Waynesburg the following year.
Mrs. Phillippi was a longtime member of Washington Street United Methodist Church and the Fidelis Sunday school class, a member of Polly Wayne Garden Club, Library Club, the Christopher Gist Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists, the John Corbly Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Twentieth Century Club, and a 50-year member of the Emerald Chapter 135, Order of the Eastern Star.
On July 13, 1935, she married Kenneth A. Phillippi, who died in April 1991.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Grover Hughes Phillippi of Waynesburg; a daughter, Bonnie Wilcox of Chelsea, Mich.; six grandchildren, Stephanie Gail and Scott Eric Wilcox, Rachel Priscilla, Marjorie Leilani, Mary Ann and Sherri Lynn Phillippi; and a sister, Kathryn Deever of Waynesburg.

Kenneth W. Powers

Kenneth W. Powers, 72, of New Stanton, died Sunday, October 11, 1998, in Greensburg.
He was born April 29, 1926, in Washington, a son of Charles William and Bessie Beatty Powers.
Mr. Powers was retired from Teledyne in Scottdale after 30 years of service.
He was U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Powers was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 23 years.
Surviving are his wife, Jennifer Farren; a son, Daniel Powers of Scottdale; stepson, Sean Thompson of Lower Burrell; stepdaughter Beth Thompson of New Stanton; three grandchildren; and a sister, Edith Powers Zelenka of Washington.
Deceased is a sister, Helen Levers.

He was a member of Transfiguration Church in Monongahela and was a self-employed contractor.

Alice G. Malpassi Donnelly, 74, of 149 West Pike Street, Houston, died at 8:30 a.m. Friday, October 16, 1998, in Washington County Health Center.
She was born November 20, 1923, in Philippi, W.Va., a daughter of Charles and Madge West Marshall. For the past 28 years lived in the Muse and Houston areas.
Mrs. Donnelly was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg and a member of the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion Post 902 of Houston.
Before retiring in 1981, she worked for 20 years as a nurse's aide at Mayview State Hospital, Bridgeville.
On July 31, 1981, she married John H. Donnelly, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Robert Nix of McDonald; a daughter, Patricia Utchel of Muse; a stepson, John Patrick Donnelly of Washington; a sister, Margaret Crites of Pittsburgh; five grandchildren, Valerie Pitcock, Robert Utchel Jr., Karen Schirra, Kelly Brown and Michael Utchel; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Robey was an avid deer hunter and was Protestant.

He was an avid hunter.

Mr. Zibrida was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church of Richeyville.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves.
Mr. Zibrida was a retired mechanic from Banning Mine of Republic Steel Corp. and was a member of the UMWA.

Irene P. Adams, 91, of Cecil, died Saturday, October 17, 1998, in Manor Care, McMurray.
She was born March 23, 1907, in Mercer, a daughter of Michael N. and Mary Knoebel Powers.
Her husband, Joseph W. Adams Sr., died May 20, 1980.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by Woodville State Hospital.
She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Cecil, Hilltoppers of Cecil and the Catholic Daughters of America, Court St. Agatha of Bridgeville.
Surviving are a son, James S. Adams of Ashland, Ky.; and two granddaughters, Jennifer Palmer of Alexandria, Va., and Allison Hegarty of Iowa City, Iowa.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, Joseph W. Adams Jr.; and a sister, Alberta Fredericks.
William A. Aureli
Hunter, fisherman and inventor
William Albert Aureli, 74, of Torrance, Calif., died Friday, October 16, 1998, in his home.
He was born September 26, 1924, in Canonsburg, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Aureli.
Mr. Aureli lived in Hendersonville for many years and attended Cecil schools. He has resided in California for the past several years.
He was retired from North American Rockwell and was an inventor, who sold his inventions to North American Rockwell.
Mr. Aureli enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Surviving are three children, Wayne and Janice Aureli and Susan Castillo, all of Torrance; five grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Aureli of Torrance.
Deceased are his wife, Lillian Rose Popp; a child, who died at birth; and two sisters, Jean and Eleanore.
Burial will be held Tuesday, October 20, in Inglewood Park Cemetery, Inglewood, Calif.

James Frederick Fox, 96, of Mt. Morris R.D.1, died at 10:10 p.m. Friday, October 16, 1998, in his home.
He was born October 24, 1901, in Mt. Morris, a son of George V. and Rachel Birch Fox.
Mr. Fox was a member of Buckeye Methodist Church but had been attending Fox Chapel Church in Mt. Morris.
He attended Mt. Morris area schools and was a former member of the former Odd Fellows Lodge 569. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America, Osage Local 4043.
Mr. Fox worked for Consolidated Coal Co., Osage Mine No. 3, before retiring in 1966. He had previously worked as a foreman for Christopher Coal Co. in Maidsville, W.Va. He had also worked in the oil fields of Wyoming, Oklahoma, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Marie Core Fox, whom he married October 21, 1928; a daughter, Marlyn Kennedy of Mt. Morris R.D.1; a son, the Rev. Robert G. Fox of Mt. Morris R.D.1; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Alleman of Parkersburg, W.Va.; a brother, George B. Fox of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his foster parents, Mabel and J.C. Lemley, with whom he made his home for more than 30 years; two sisters, Nellie Phillips and Lovisa Fox, who died in childhood; four brothers, Roy L., Albert W., Thomas L. and Furman L. Fox; and a great-granddaughter, Heather Michelle Fox.
Floyd O. "Flip" King
Former West Alexander councilman was WWII vet
Floyd O. "Flip" King, 75, of West Alexander, died Friday, October 16, 1998, in his home.
He was born July 25, 1923, in Washington, a son of William and Clara Tarr King.
He was a member of West Alexander Presbyterian Church.
Mr. King attended Washington and Hickory schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1942, serving aboard a LST in the European Theater during World War II. He was honorably discharged in January 1946.
Mr. King was employed as a machine operator at Wheeling Machine Products, Wheeling (Elm Grove), W.Va., for 35 years until his retirement in 1983.
A West Alexander councilman for several years, he also served, including several years as chairman, on West Alexander Municipal Water Authority, from its inception in September 1978 until his death.
Mr. King was a member of West Alexander American Legion Post 656, and he enjoyed gardening, woodworking and watching football, particularly the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In June 1946, in Washington, he married Mary F. Atkinson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Susie King and Rebecca Bromley, both of Washington; four grandchildren, Donald R. King Jr. of Claysville, Todd M. King, Bethany S. and Scott J. Bromley, all of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. King was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are four brothers, John E., William H., Woodrow W. and Thomas L. King; and four sisters, Anna Mae Phillips, Helen Dicks, Libb Baumgardner and Mary Mandish.

Olive Mae Colborn Livingston, 85, of Main Street, Clarksville, died at 7 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, following a brief illness.
She was born February 8, 1913, in Moyer, a daughter of George W. and Alice Mae Johnson Colborn.
Mrs. Livingston was a member of Clarksville Christian Church and the Christian Women's Fellowship.
She had been employed at the former Secrist Market in Fredericktown.
Surviving are a son, George Dewey Livingston of Ironton, Ohio; a granddaughter, Tracy Elizabeth Livingston; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased are her husband, James Dewey Livingston, who died June 9, 1959; three brothers, Charles E., Paul V. and George W. Colborn; and a sister, Anna Grace Colborn Squires.

Alfred J. Meek Jr., 68, of Finleyville, died Sunday, October 18, 1998, at his home following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 7, 1930, in Nottingham Township, a son of Alfred Meek Sr. and Anna Babich Meek.
Mr. Meek retired in 1985 from USX, Irvin Works. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Finleyville and the Arroas Haymakers Association 2581/2 in New Eagle.
Surviving are his wife, Marion E. Rhodes Meek, with whom he celebrated 45 years of marriage on August 1, 1998; three daughters, Karen Meek of Washington, Cindy L. Slanczka of Lorain, Ohio, and Kathy L. Burnisky of New Eagle; four sons, Kenneth D. Meek of New Hampshire, Ronald P. Meek of Espyville, Richard L. Meek of Monongahela and Edward A. Meek of Washington; 11 grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Griffith of Monongahela and Jean Bubenheim of Coraopolis; and two brothers, James L. and Walter Meek, both of Finleyville.

Edna A. King Parfitt

Edna Alice King Parfitt, 92, of Jefferson, died Sunday, October 18, 1998, in Jefferson.
She was born June 5, 1906, in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, a daughter of Edward B. and Lydia Caroline Brown King.
Mrs. Parfitt graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1924 and attended Indiana Normal School, Indiana.
Her early life was spent in Mt. Pleasant. In 1932, she moved to Pitt Gas and then to Clarksville. In 1975, she moved to Fredericktown; in 1982, she moved to Carmichaels; and in 1997, she moved to Jefferson.
She worked as a correspondent for many years for the Waynesburg Democrat Messenger, Brownsville Telegraph, Irwin Evening Standard and the Washington Observer-Reporter.
Mrs. Parfitt was active in Clarksville Christian Church for many years, having served as deaconess, elder, Sunday school teacher, choir member and as a member of its Christian Women's Fellowship. She was a former member of Fredericktown United Methodist Church, and at the time of her death, she was a member of Carmichaels Christian Church.
She was a member and past Noble Grand of the IOOF Rebekah Lodge of Clarksville.
On June 5, 1926, she married Edward Parfitt, who died December 26, 1981.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Knight of Fredericktown and Charlene Kramer of Jefferson; five grandchildren, Christine Huff, Robin Knight, Robert E. Knight, Scott R. Kramer Jr. and Joey B. Kramer; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Edward Parfitt, who died in infancy; three brothers, the Rev. George King, James and Norman King; and two sisters, Mary McClelland and Ruth Metzger.

Finleyville woman, former Continental Can employee
Helen Claire Tipping, 65, of Finleyville, died Saturday, October 17, 1998, following a serious illness.
Mrs. Tipping had worked in numerous places, including Continental Can, Stoner Trucks and the Gentile, Cantanese and Vulcan CPA firm in the Steel Building.
She enjoyed hockey, football and motorcycle races.
Surviving are her husband, John Tipping; two sons, Paul Tipping and Chris Catanzarite; a brother, Lou Augustine; and four sisters, Doris Williams, Gail Drew, Mary Lou Frey and Norma Schiller.
Deceased are her parents, Paul and Henrietta Augustine; and a brother, Paul Augustine.
Jay W. Troutman
Washington attorney and civic leader
Jay W. Troutman, 86, of Leet Street, Washington, who had been attending Quality Family Care Adult Day Care in Canonsburg for the past several months, died at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals-Canonsburg.
He was born June 30, 1912, in Hawthorn, Clarion County, a son of Jesse J. and Margaret Lenkard Troutman.
He was a graduate of Hawthorn High School. His family moved to Washington in 1929, when he enrolled in Washington and Jefferson College, from which he received a bachelor of arts degree in 1933 and a master of arts degree in 1935. He received a doctor of law degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1938.
Mr. Troutman was admitted to practice law before the U.S. District Court and the Superior and Supreme courts of Pennsylvania. He was a member of the Washington County, Pennsylvania State and American Bar Associations and the American Judicature Society.
Mr. Troutman served on the Washington County Board of Viewers from 1939 to 1958. He had acted as the former special deputy attorney to Pennsylvania and as former assistant district attorney. He was the assistant county solicitor to Washington County, former director of Washington County Housing Authority, former director of Washington County Red Cross, former solicitor for the off-street parking committee of the Greater Washington Area Chamber of Commerce and former solicitor of Washington County Redevelopment Authority and Planning Committee. He had been a member of Washington Library Authority and city Democratic chairman.
During World War II, he served as a line naval officer with the amphibious forces of the 7th fleet operating in the south and central areas of the Pacific. He was a former commanding officer of the Naval Reserve in Washington and a former member of the Military Order of the World Wars, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Troutman received commendation from the commander of the 7th fleet in connection with servicing the fleet with the Philippine invasion.
Mr. Troutman was a member of the Church of the Covenant, Washington, and had been a practicing attorney in Washington.
He was twice married. On April 24, 1942, he married Clara Louise Miller, who died November 26, 1994, and he was last married to Sarah Wigner Troutman, who survives.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews; five stepdaughters, Darla Acceturo of Canonsburg, Karen Fuller of Charles Town, W.Va., Gloria Ruffalo of Washington, Robin Pride of Leesburg, Va., and Sally Smalley of Settner, Fla.; 12 stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Sam Troutman; and a sister, Mary Weaver.

Shirley Grandon Zofchak, 58, of Washington, died Saturday, October 17, 1998, at home.
She was born September 12, 1940, in Washington, a daughter of the late Marion and Lulu Birch Grandon.
Mrs. Zofchak worked as a legal secretary at Phillips, Faldowski and McCloskey Law Offices in Washington, and she was a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church of Washington.
Surviving are her husband, Dennis M. Zofchak, whom she married August 12, 1961; a son, Stephen D. Zofchak of Washington; two daughters, Lori A. Zofchak-Linscott of Athens, Ohio, and Cathy Lynn Zofchak-Bukowski of Washington; three brothers, James Seibert of Wheeling, W.Va., Donald L. Grandon of Washington and Marion E. Grandon of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Martha Chaney of Canonsburg and Dorothy Main of Washington; and four grandchildren.

George S. Cree, 88, of Beaver, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 30, 1998, in his home.
He was born September 3, 1910, in Waynesburg, a son of William I. and Frances Leonard Cree.
Mr. Cree had been a resident of Beaver County since 1948 and was formerly of Washington.
A Marine veteran of World War II, Mr. Cree was a retired supervisor of employment for LTV Steel in Aliquippa. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Aliquippa and F&AM Lodge 672.
Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews, including a nephew, Don Cameron of Washington.
Deceased are his wife, Marie Cameron Cree; a son, George C. Cree; and four brothers and two sisters.

Pete G. Dellapina, 53, of 127 Frederick Street, Arlington area of Pittsburgh, died Thursday, October 1, 1998, in South Side Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born April 22, 1945, in Bulger, a son of Mary and Pete Dellapina.
Mr. Dellapina was a self-employed contractor and a veteran of Vietnam.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean Connor; a daughter, Gina Brown; three sons, Pete Jr., James and Christian Dellapina; a sister, Pricilla Fini; three brothers, Lou, Charles and Robert Dellapina; and five grandchildren.
John Stewart Hunter
Former employee of McGraw Edison
John Stewart Hunter, 78, of Uniontown, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 1998, in his home following a lengthy illness.
Born September 21, 1920, in Washington, he was a son of Benjamin F. and Mary Elizabeth Yater Hunter.
Mr. Hunter was a member of Calvary Temple Church of Washington and was a former employee of McGraw Edison. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Mr. Hunter received three service ribbons with three bronze stars and a Good Conduct Medal.
On July 26, 1948, he married Pearl L. Thomas, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Blair of Uniontown; three sisters, Olive Pauline Stevenson of Ronhert Park, Calif., Genevieve Nann Boyd of Uniontown and Sarah Jane Porter of Carnegie; three grandchildren, Tiffany Danielle, Trudy Lee and Ronald Lee Cole; and four great-grandchildren.
A brother, Benjamin F. Hunter, is deceased.

Mrs. Ladochy was a member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church and the Christian Mothers.
She was a homemaker.
On July 20, 1940, she married William G. Ladochy I, who is deceased.

Robert L. McVicker

Robert L. McVicker, 53, of Carlton Drive, Bentleyville, died Wednesday, September 30, 1998, in the emergency room of Brownsville General Hospital.
He was born May 18, 1945, in Brownsville, a son of Ruby Bane McVicker Millan of Vestaburg and the late Milton Guy McVicker.
Mr. McVicker attended Bethlehem Center schools, and he retired in 1991 as a foreman for the state Department of Transportation.
He was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, Scenery Hill Lions Club, F&AM Beallsville Masonic Lodge 237, Lodge of Perfection in Uniontown and Consistory of Pittsburgh.
Surviving are his wife, Darlene Kearns; a son, James Robert McVicker of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a daughter Tammy Lynn Curry of Sugarcreek, Ohio; two brothers, Ernest McVicker of Vestaburg and Richard McVicker of Swanton, Vt.; two sisters, Virginia McVicker of Waynesburg and Kandus Mowl of Bentleyville; and several nieces and nephews.

Hughes Woodrow Baer
Retired railroad conductor, brakeman
Hughes Woodrow "Max" Baer of Scott Township, formerly of Washington, died October 3, 1998, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon, after a brief illness.
He was born April 12, 1917, in Greensboro, a son of Harry David and Flora Lee Hughes Baer. The youngest of eight children, he was the last member of his immediate family.
On June 29, 1941, he married Helen Norma Marisa of Fredericktown, who survives. Their wedding ceremony was performed at Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. As a member of Immaculate Conception, Mr. Baer sang in the choir and did volunteer work. In Scott Township he participated at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church.
A member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Workers, he was a brakeman and conductor with Pennsylvania Railroad for 45 years, retiring from the PRR/Conrail System in 1986.
Mr. Baer enjoyed transporting elementary school students as a bus driver for Chartiers Valley School District for 10 years and became a member of Pennsylvania State Education Association.
Surviving are three sons, Raymond Hughes Baer of Savannah, Ga., Kevin Brian Baer of Woodlands, Texas, and Daryl Mark Baer of West Mifflin; six grandsons; and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Thomas Woodrow Baer, died August 16, 1994.
Joseph C. Coleman

Joseph C. Coleman, 81, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, October 15, 1998, in South Hills Convalescent Center.
He was born April 12, 1917, in Adelaide, a son of Joseph G. and Alice C. Coll Coleman.
Mr. Coleman was Catholic and lived his entire life in the Muse and Canonsburg areas. He was employed by the former H.C. Frick Coal Co. in Muse and as a winder at the former Pennsylvania Transformer Co.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg.
He was married to Elizabeth DeVitis, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Karen J. Coleman Roner of San Diego, Calif.; one son, Joseph C. Coleman Jr. of Canonsburg; three grandchildren, Ralph A. Roner, Shawne Roner and Joseph Coleman; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased are his sister, Catherine "Cassie" Gallagher; and two brothers, Thomas and Ben Coleman Sr.

Norman B. "Gus" Collins, 72, of Brownsville, died Sunday, October 18, 1998, in University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
He was born September 15, 1926, in West Brownsville, a son of Edward and Audrey Byland Collins.
Mr. Collins was a life member of South Brownsville United Methodist Church, Brownsville Masonic Lodge 60, and a member of numerous fraternal and community organizations to which he was dedicated to in leadership roles.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Patricia Malloy; a son, Thomas Collins of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Audrey Confer of Uniontown; four grandchildren, Craig Collins, Amy Jo Confer Ross, Erin Loree Confer-Staggers and Sean Collins; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, William Collins of Toledo, Ohio, Anthony Collins of Houston, Texas, and Edward Collins of Yuma, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

Decorated World War II veteran, steelworker
Domenic Ferralli, 87, of Washington, died 9:50 a.m. Monday, October 19, 1998, in Washington Hospital.
He was born June 20, 1911, in Bruceton, a son of John and Mary Chiarelli Ferralli.
He was employed by Washington Tin Plate Co. prior to World War II. Upon his return from military service, he was among the first group of men hired at Washington Steel Corp., from which he retired in 1976 after 29 years of service.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army from April 17, 1942, to December 17, 1945, as a sergeant in Battery D 751st Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion in the Western Pacific and as a leader in the gun crew in the Western Carolinas. He was awarded the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and Victory Medal World War II.
Mr. Ferralli was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Washington; Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion; and Italian Sons and Daughters of America Alpine Star Lodge 9.
Surviving are four sisters, Angeline F. Costello, Helen C. Bellotti, Vera Jean Piacenza and Jennie M. Ferralli all of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Albert and John J. Ferralli; and a sister, Rose F. Rugerio.

Mrs. Zuccaro Frye was a beautician, operating from her home for many years.

Ruth S. Hart, 80, formerly of Canonsburg, died Monday, October 19, 1998, in Manor Care Nursing Home, Green Tree.
She was born May 12, 1918, a daughter of O.B. and Edna Gibb Shillito.
Mrs. Hart was a member of Central Assembly of God Church in Houston; graduated from Pennsylvania State University; and taught in the Cecil and Canon-McMillan school districts in the 1960s.
She was married to William Samuel Hart Sr., who died February 2, 1978.
Surviving are two sons, William Samuel Hart Jr. of Mechanicsburg and John Benton Hart of New Philadelphia, Ohio; a daughter, Nancy Federoff of Valley Grove, W.Va.; and two grandsons, Sammy and David Hart.
Deceased are a sister, Naomi Boak; a brother, Lee Shillito; and a granddaughter, Abigail Hart.
James Tommy Martin

James Tommy Martin, 18, of Wayne Village, Waynesburg, died at 4 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 1998, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born May 25, 1980, a son of James Tommy and Ethelene Bennett Martin of Waynesburg.
Mr. Martin lived his early life in West Virginia and had lived in Waynesburg for the past 11 years.
He was a timber cutter for Laurel Run Logging Co. in Uniontown.
Surviving are three sisters, Valerie Varner, Cathy and Lisa Martin, all of Waynesburg; a maternal grandmother, Minnie Bennett of Quinwood, W.Va.; and several aunts and uncles.
Mary Grace McCollum
Former Washington resident
Mary Grace Jenkins McCollum, 68, of Asheville, N.C., formerly of Washington, died October 14, 1998, in Asheville.
Her husband, John C. McCollum, is deceased.
Surviving are a daughter, Carol A. Kirsch of Baldwin; a son, Joseph M. McCollum of Asheville; and three grandchildren, Kristen M., Steven M. and Jeffrey P. Kirsch.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, in St. Sylvester Church, Brentwood.
Shirley M. Schipps
Member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church
Shirley M. Horr Schipps, 64, of 105 Latimer Avenue, Strabane, died Sunday, October 18, 1998, in Bay Front Medical Center, St. Petersburg, Fla.
She was born March 3, 1934, in Canonsburg, a daughter of Harry and Hollis Young Horr.
Mrs. Schipps was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Canonsburg, a charter member and president of North Strabane Women's Association, a member of North Strabane Democratic Women's Association, American German Beneficial Union and Moose Club women's auxiliary of Canonsburg.
She was employed as an administrative nurse at Mayview State Hospital in Bridgeville. She retired in 1966.
On May 20, 1960, she married Donsel Schipps, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Anita S. Allwardt of St. Petersburg; a son, Donsel Shipps Jr. of Strabane; two grandchildren, Cody and Calie Allwardt; an uncle, Jim Toth of Canonsburg; and a cousin, R.T. Bell.

Emma M. Fordyce

Emma M. Fordyce, 85, of New Freeport R.D.1, died Sunday, October 18, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
She was born November 22, 1912, in Birchfield, W.Va., a daughter of Asa and Oaty Bell Gump Stout.
Mrs. Fordyce was a member of Sand Hill Church of Christ.
She was married to Aubrey W. Fordyce, who died April 15, 1978.
Surviving are five sons, Donald A. Fordyce of New Freeport; Sherell D. Fordyce, New Freeport, Ervin A. Fordyce, Rootstown, Ohio, John W. Fordyce of Mannington, W.Va., and Thomas L. Fordyce of New Freeport; one sister, Hazel Anderson of New Freeport; one brother, Everett Stout of Minerva, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Julia Peterson and Ettie Stout; and four brothers, Russell, Thurman, Cephus and Samuel Stout.
Mary Louise Barnhart

Mary Louise Barnhart, 46, of Deerfield Road, Washington, died at 12:40 p.m. Monday, October 19, 1998, in Washington Hospital.
She was born July 8, 1952, in Washington, a daughter of Helen Day Barlow of Washington and the late Richard Barlow.
Mrs. Barnhart was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. She was a schoolteacher who began her career in September 1973 in Trinity School District, first at Wylie Avenue Elementary School then at North Franklin Elementary School. She was teaching at Trinity East Elementary School at the time of her death.
Mrs. Barnhart was a 1970 graduate of McGuffey High School and a 1973 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania. A member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the National Education Association, Mrs. Barnhart also was a member and past president of the Alpha Delta Kappa sorority for teachers.
On July 7, 1979, she married GarryLinn Barnhart, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Richard Allan Barnhart, at home; a daughter, Brittney Ann Barnhart, at home; two brothers, Richard Day Barlow of Washington and Thomas James Barlow of Washington; and six nieces and nephews.
Germaine Baron

Germaine "Gerry" Baron, 89, of McDonald, died Monday, October 19, 1998, in Allegheny University Hospitals, Canonsburg, after a lengthy illness.
She was born August 4, 1909, in Ales, France, a daughter of Eduard and Eva Paladin Chamboredon.
Mrs. Baron, a homemaker, came to America at age 5 with her parents. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
On Thanksgiving Day 1935, she married John C. Baron, who survives.
Margaret Ross Conner
Waynesburg homemaker formerly of Nemacolin
Margaret Ross Conner, 82, of 367 North West Street, Waynesburg, died Tuesday, October 20, 1998, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness.
She was born July 11, 1916, in Anniston, Ala., a daughter of Raymond and Mannie Lou Frye Ross.
Mrs. Conner was a homemaker and a former resident of Nemacolin. For the past 22 years, she resided in Waynesburg, where she was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was a member of the Waynesburg Library Club and the Greene County Memorial Hospital auxiliary and had worked as a volunteer at the Cherry Door.
On March 13, 1943, she married Allen Oscar Conner, who died in April 1976.
Surviving are a son, Bill Allen Conner of Waynesburg; a daughter, Barbara Jean Corradi of Lansdale; one granddaughter, Cristina Corradi; three sisters, Dorothy Ross, Mannie Lou Pepper and Alice Wooton, all of Atlanta, Ga.; and a brother, Bill Ross of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Deceased is a brother, Walter Ross.
Georgia Marie DeWitt

Georgia Marie DeWitt, 65, of Greensboro, formerly of Winchester, Va., died Tuesday, October 20, 1998, at her home.
She was born October 25, 1932, in Garards Fort, a daughter of Samuel and Martha Helmick Conard.
Mrs. DeWitt was a member of First Baptist Church of Winchester and John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church, Garards Fort.
She was a member of the American Legion auxiliary of Carmichaels and the Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliary of Greensboro.
Surviving are nine children, Martha Catherine Potts of Winchester, Amy Diane Funtila of Stephens City, Va., Roy Samuel DeWitt of Waynesburg, Brenda Marie Funtila of Fairfax, Va., Sharon Lynn Wright of Carmichaels and James David Daniel Eric and Sheila Marie DeWitt, all of Greensboro; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; four brothers, James Conard of Garards Fort and Lloyd, Carl and Matthew Conard, all of Nemacolin; and a sister, Betty Scott of Garards Fort.
Deceased are two brothers, Noil and Thomas; and three sisters, Thelma, Evelyn and Jennie.
Helen C. Donaldson

Helen C. Donaldson, 75, of McDonald, died Monday, October 19, 1998, in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born September 18, 1923, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Herbert and Euphemia Stevenson Cook.
In 1988, Mrs. Donaldson retired from Masquelier Ford, McDonald, where she worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years.
She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church of McDonald, the American Legion auxiliary, McDonald Senior Citizens and McDonald Women's Club.
On January 13, 1942, she married James W. Donaldson, who died July 21, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, James H. Donaldson of Walnut Cove, N.C., and Robert A. Donaldson, of McDonald; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Deceased is a brother, Robert C. Cook.
Marjorie Smarty Hecko

Marjorie "Peggy" Smarty Hecko, 65, of Grand Island, N.Y., died September 25, 1998, in New York.
She was born August 29, 1933, in Todd, a daughter of Helen C. Copechal.
Mrs. Hecko was a graduate of Bentleyville High School and had attended Somerset Grade School in Vanceville.
She moved to the Eighty Four area at the age of 5.
Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Albert H. Hecko; a son, Randall P. Hecko of Grand Island; three daughters, Cheryl Wilcox, Janice Marie Hecko and Patricia Stapley, all of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her stepfather, Louis J. Copechal of Eighty Four; five sisters, Margaret Stouch of Grants Pass, Ore., Violet Hyson of Portland, Ore., Matlida Thompson of Eighty Four, Helen Louise Ogden of Dallas, Texas, and Gertrude Paxton of New Stanton; and two brothers, Louis J. Copechal of Bentleyville and Robert L. Copechal of Canonsburg.
Deceased, in addition to her mother, is a brother, John "Pete" Smarty; and a sister, Mary Meredith.
Burial was at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Tonawanda, N.Y.
Jack L. Hathaway Sr.
Area historian
Jack L. Hathaway Sr., 78, of Carmichaels, died at 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 1998, in Uniontown Hospital.
He was born May 12, 1920, in Carmichaels, a son of Albert McGinnis and Margaret McMinn Hathaway.
Mr. Hathaway was a member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church of Carmichaels.
He was a 1938 graduate of Cumberland Township High School and attended Waynesburg College.
Mr. Hathaway was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, with the 26th Infantry Regiment, Company D, 1st Infantry Division ("Big Red One"). He participated in eight major campaigns in the European Theater, including three amphibious landings at Tunisia in North Africa, Sicily and Omaha Beach at Normandy on D-Day. He received two Purple Hearts, three Bronze Stars for bravery and eight Bronze Battle Stars. Mr. Hathaway also received three Fouregueres for his participation in the liberation of villages in France and Belgium. He also served as a drill instructor during the Korean War.
In his early life, he was employed by R.G. Johnson Co. during the construction of the U.S. Steel Co.'s Robena Mine. He later worked at Buckeye Coal Co., Nemacolin Mine and Ireland Mine in Moundsville, W.Va. He retired from Duquesne Light Co.'s Warwick Mine in 1982.
Mr. Hathaway was a member of UMWA Duquesne Light Local 6310, National Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Society of the 1st Division and the Battle of the Bulge Association.
He was a former member of Greene Academy of Art in Carmichaels and interested in its preservation. He was involved in family history and the history of the Carmichaels area. He was on the board of directors for Laurel Point Cemetery.
On March 25, 1948, he married Claire Barclay Hathaway, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Jack L. Hathaway Jr. and Barclay A. Hathaway, both of Carmichaels; two daughters, Bridgett C. Hathaway of Red Lion and Margaret J. Hollick of York; 11 grandchildren; a brother, D. Wood Hathaway of Alameda, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, William Albert Hathaway.
Pamela Furr Potts

Pamela Furr Potts, 42, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died at 10:20 a.m. October 13, 1998, in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, of acute leukemia.
She was born January 22, 1956, in Lexington, Ky., a daughter of Beth A. Furr of Canonsburg and Paul M. Furr of Sneads Ferry, N.C.
Mrs. Potts was a member of Sun Coast Church of Christ, Lake Worth, Fla.
She was a 1974 graduate of Peters Township High School.
She was married to Christopher J. Potts, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Jessica Ann Potts of West Palm Beach; her paternal grandmother, Lillian V. Furr of Danville, Ky.; and three sisters, Debra Lynn Schurr of Washington, Jodene Marie Doughty of Silver Springs, Md., and Deanne Sue Kleiner of Chandler, Ariz.
A memorial service is planned for October 31 at Sun Coast Church of Christ.
Frank Skiddle

Frank Skiddle, 88, of 126 Allison Avenue, Houston, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 20, 1998, in his home.
Mr. Skiddle was born December 28, 1909, in Elizabeth, a son of Mike and Mary Strainar Skiddle. He had been a resident of the Houston area since 1950.
Prior to his retirement in 1975, he was employed by Jessop Steel Co. as a steel worker.
Mr. Skiddle was Catholic and was a member of SNPJ Lodge 138 of Strabane.
On June 28, 1935, he was married to Angeline Frankovitch, who died March 6, 1998.
Surviving are a son, Frank Robert Skiddle of Amherst, Ohio; three sisters, Elizabeth Rubis and Ann Skiddle, both of Canonsburg, and Mary Molinaro of Washington; four grandchildren, Frank Robert III, Lisa Anna and Alan Skiddle and Sharon Thrash; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Matthew Skiddle; and two sisters, Sophie Dellarso and Frances Meredith.
