Eva M. Grim Vukovich, 74, of Dilliner R.D.1 (Taylortown), died Friday, September 4, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.
She was born August 25, 1924, in Aleppo, a daughter of James Jacob and Lizzie Cook Grim.
She was Methodist and retired as a machine operator for Sterling Faucet in Morgantown, W.Va.
Surviving is her grandson, Donald Nicholas Grim.
Deceased are her husband, Nicholas Vukovich, who died December 31, 1976; a daughter, Linda Grim, who died June 3, 1983; five brothers, Burns, Jacob, Ernest, Reuben and Woodrow Grim; and three sisters, Martha Pecjak, Elizabeth Pearl Clark and Ruth Barnhart.
Mrs. Vukovich was the last of her immediate family.
Bertha E. Bahn

Bertha E. Bahn, 72, a 40-year resident of West Alexander, formerly of Texas, died Sunday, September 6, 1998, in Wheeling Medical Park, Wheeling, W.Va., following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 10, 1926, in Moundsville, W.Va., a daughter of Harry and Marie Kennedy Taylor.
Mrs. Bahn was a member of First Christian Church, West Alexander.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and gardening.
On April 7, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, she married Ernest H. Bahn, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Mary Marie Haught of Independence, Ky., and Hilda Pattison of West Alexander; a brother, William Taylor of West Alexander; a sister, Hilda Miller, of West Alexander; eight grandchildren, Mike, Pam and Richard Pattison and Amy, Christina, Katie, Rachael and Elizabeth Haught; a great-granddaughter; and two nieces and two nephews.
Deceased is a son, Ernest Harry "Son" Bahn.

Dr. Campbell G. David, 92, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, September 5, 1998, in Washington.
He was born July 20, 1906, in Bridgeville, a son of Albert and Sarah David.
He attended Bridgeville public schools and was a 1937 graduate of University of Pittsburgh Dental School.
Dr. David was a resident of Canonsburg since 1941 and practiced dentistry for 61 years. He had been a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association for the length of his career. He was also a volunteer dentist for the disabled.
He was a member of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder.
He was a former member of Canonsburg-Houston Kiwanis Club and was past president of the BPOE Elks of Canonsburg.
Surviving are his wife, Olive Corey David, whom he married in 1939; three daughters, Sara Narcisi of Pittsburgh, June Roby of San Francisco, Calif., and Carol David of Pittsburgh; twin sons, Dan David of Ross, Calif., and Don David of San Francisco; and five grandchildren.

Charles A. Martin, 96, of Charleroi, died Sunday, September 6, 1998, in Washington County Health Center.
He was born June 6, 1902, in Belle Vernon, a son of Henderson and Mirya Martin.
He was Protestant and a member of the American Legion in Belle Vernon.
Mr. Martin was retired from the former H&B Chevrolet.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Viscoe of North Charleroi; and a granddaughter, Sandra Viscoe of North Charleroi.
Deceased are his wife, Virginia Ward Martin, who died in 1984; two brothers, Charles H. and John Martin; and three sisters, Cora Little, Margarite Bamford and Annie Collins.

Rita K. McCarty, 68, of Cross Creek Village,Cross Creek Township, died at 5:32 a.m. Sunday, September, 6, 1998, in Washington Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1930, in Sturgeon, a daughter of Aloysius and Margaret H. Lutes Kessler.
Mrs. McCarty was a member of Cross Creek Presbyterian Church and sang in the church choir.
On June 3, 1967, in Winchester, Va., she married Wilson Dean McCarty, who survives in Cross Creek Village.
Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Lynn McCarty Houser of State College; a sister, Ferna Squires of Warden, Mich.; several nieces, nephews and cousins and one grandnephew.
Deceased are two sisters, Freda, who died in 1994, and Maria, who died in 1991.

Leonard Petracchi, 84, of 211 Arlington Drive, Canonsburg, died Sunday, September 6, 1998, in his home.
He was born January 8, 1914, in Rosello, Provincia di Chieti, Abruzzi, Italy, a son of Primaldo and Addolorato Monaco Petracchi.
He resided in Canonsburg the past 73 years.
Mr. Petracchi was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Canonsburg and its Catholic Men's Club, where he was a head usher for many years.
He was formerly employed as a crane operator for Universal Cyclops Steel Co. before his retirement in 1979.
Surviving are his wife, Elpinia Checca Petracchi; a son, Barry Petracchi of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Dolores Paullet of Mt. Lebanon and Rosetta Noble of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren, Ross, Renee and Ryan Paullet, Kurt, Brent and Tara Petracchi and Erika, Jessica and Jonathan Noble; and four great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Remaley, 84, of 106 West Elm Street, Waynesburg, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 1998, in the Franklin Care Center, Waynesburg, following a lengthy illness.
She was born June 26, 1914, in Canonsburg, a daughter of James Benson and Amey Martin Fuller.
Mrs. Remaley spent most of her life in Greene County, where she was a member of First Christian Church in Waynesburg.
She was a homemaker and worked as a clerk for McCracken Pharmacy in Waynesburg for 20 years.
Her husband, William Merle Remaley, died August 12, 1978.
Surviving are a son, Frank M. Remaley of Waynesburg R.D.2; three grandchildren, Mark Pastoria, Valerie Mathason and Danny Lemley; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret McMillan of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, Samuel, William and Elmer Fuller; and four sisters, Goldie McBride, Radie Moore, Verna Fox and Lorena Brock.

Ralph J. Sommers Sr., 87, of 1585 Sixth Street, Waynesburg, died at 2:30 a.m. Monday, September 7, 1998, in Franklin Care Center, Waynesburg.
He was born April 6, 1911, in Pittsburgh, a son of John and Rose Gray Sommers.
He lived in the Pittsburgh and Sewickley areas until 1976, when he moved to Waynesburg.
Mr. Sommers worked for several years as the manager for the Wilkins Jewelers in Pittsburgh and then for 15 years in the accounting office of J&L Steel in Aliquippa before retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the BPO Elks 757 of Waynesburg and a member of the U.S. Steel Workers Union.
Mr. Sommers also was a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesburg.
Surviving are his wife, Dolores W. Sommers, whom he married December 14, 1974; two sons, Ralph J. Sommers Jr. and James R. Sommers, both of Waynesburg; three daughters, Ruth Bell of Sarasota, Fla., Susan Sommers of Elk City, Okla., and Charlene Offut of Vancouver, Wash.; two nieces; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Alfred, Elmer and John Sommers; and a sister, Rose Sydor.

Janet Louise Tomcyk, 42, of Laurie Lane, Washington, died at 4:20 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 1998, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 15, 1956, in Washington, a daughter of Glen E. Dean of Washington and the late Julia G. Jubas Dean.
Mrs. Tomcyk was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and its Christian Mothers.
She was a 1975 graduate of Trinity High School and was formerly employed in the dietary department of the Presbyterian Home for many years.
She was a dedicated volunteer for Washington Hospital and for the PTG of John F. Kennedy Grade School and enjoyed the company of her family.
On September 14, 1980, she married Lou E. Tomcyk Jr., who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Michael and Matthew Tomcyk, both at home; a brother, Glen R. Dean of Washington; a sister, Carolyn A. Behanna of Washington; a niece and a nephew.

Ruby M. Vrbanac, 76, of Jefferson R.D.1, died Sunday, September 6, 1998, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, after a lengthy illness.
She was born December 20, 1921, in Republic, a daughter of Matthew and Katherine Sebetich Bencheck.
Mrs. Vrbanac was a homemaker and lived at Jefferson R.D.1 since 1951.
She was a member of St. Marcellus Roman Catholic Church of Jefferson and Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 354 of Cokeburg.
On September 28, 1940, she married Joseph Vrbanac, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Joseph M. Vrbanac of Amherst, Ohio; a daughter, Sandra Dulik of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Sherri Whitmer and Steven T. Dulik Jr.; a great-grandson; a brother, John Novacich of Point Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wagner was a life member of Noblestown United Methodist Church and past president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Sturgeon.
He was a retired equipment operator at Mayview State Hospital, Bridgeville, with 35 years of service.

McClees Murray Waychoff, 83, of 405 Huffman Street, Waynesburg, died unexpectedly at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 1998, in her home.
She was born December 17, 1914, in Nineveh, a daughter of Dr. Arthur T. and Leota Mitchell Murray.
Mrs. Waychoff was manager of the Waynesburg College Book Store for 20 years.
She was a past president of the 20th Century Club, a past president of the Waynesburg Women's Club and a past president of the Greene County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. She was a charter member of the Warrior Trail.
Mrs. Waychoff was a member of First Baptist Church, Waynesburg.
Her husband, W. Bertram Waychoff, died December 29, 1992.
Surviving are two sons, James Murray Waychoff of South Park and Walter B. Waychoff of Waynesburg; three grandsons, Matthew J., Adam B. and Joshua D. Waychoff; two sisters, Happy Murray Wine of Bethel Park and Marjorie Jayson of Hastings, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

Leonard "Red" "Pete" Carpenter, 76, of Buffalo Township, formerly of the state of California, died at 12:56 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 1998, in the home of his caregiver, Keannith P. Main.
He was born November 15, 1921, in Washington, a son of Benjamin Franklin and Sarah Frances Gallagher Carpenter.
Mr. Carpenter retired as a janitor for Trinity School District, having worked at Trinity High School and the former Log Pile School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.
He was a member of American Legion Post 175 of Washington and Anawanna Hunting and Fishing Club in Amity.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Sue Carpenter of the state of California; four stepsons, Don Clutter, Jay Miles and Wayne Miles, all of the state of California, and Chris Sampson of Oregon; several stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three sisters, Lila and Eloise Carpenter, who died in infancy, and Ethel M. Cummins; and four brothers, Elmer, Austin, Norman and Ralph Carpenter.
At the request of the deceased, services and burial in Claysville Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are being handled by Hummell and Barnhill Memorial Chapel, Washington.

Julia M. "Jay" Gabowsky of Canonsburg died Monday, September 7, 1998, in her home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Revier, Fayette County, a daughter of Felix and Mary Bowers Santelli.
Mrs. Gabowsky had lived most of her life in Canonsburg, where she was a member of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church and its altar society.
She had been employed as a chipper at the former Canonsburg Pottery Co.
Mrs. Gabowsky was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Ladies Auxiliary, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 861 Ladies Auxiliary, Greater Canonsburg Senior Citizens, Women of the Moose Chapter 166, and a social member of Russian Brotherhood Organization Branch 247.
On February 15, 1945, she married Michael Gabowsky, who survives.
Also surviving are two sisters, Ann Cheverine of Brownsville and Elizabeth Camerine of Follansbee, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a sister, Katherine English; and three brothers, Joseph, James and Fred Sandella.

Mrs. Myers was a homemaker.

Joseph V. Puskar

Joseph V. Puskar, 76, of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Monday, September 7, 1998, in his home.
He was born March 28, 1922, in Canonsburg, a son of John and Mary Kropilak Puskar.
Mr. Puskar lived his entire life in Canonsburg, where he had been a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Parish.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a roller at the former Fort Pitt Bridge Co. and was last employed as a produce packer at Tiny Store in Canonsburg.
He enjoyed dartball and was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Team.
On November 22, 1958, he married Blanche Wojciechowski Bullock, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Gloria Verakis of McMurray; two grandchildren, Daniel and Melissa Verakis; two sisters, Elizabeth Tomsic and Margaret Puskar, both of Canonsburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, George Puskar.
Bill Steinbach
Veteran radio reporter dies at age 63
PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Bill Steinbach, a 36-year radio reporter who was host of KDKA-AM's afternoon news, died Tuesday of cancer. He was 63.
Funeral arrangements were incomplete for Steinbach, who had esophogeal and lung cancers.
During the spring Pittsburgh Marathon, he covered the race for KDKA from a perch on top of Pittsburgh Brewing, where Iron City beer is made. He was on the air for coverage of both Kennedy assassinations, the explosion of the space shuttle Challenger and the 1993 Pittsburgh blizzard.
Steinbach began at KDKA after graduating from Duquesne University in 1956, worked in the Washington, D.C., bureau for Group W stations during the late 1950s and returned to KDKA in 1960.
He retired in 1993.
He had four terms as president of the Pittsburgh Press Club and was a member of the national board of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
He also wrote an auto racing column for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and during the 1960s and 1970s was an announcer at southwestern Pennsylvania race tracks.
Steinbach is survived by his wife, Mary Patricia Kelly; children Debora Steinbach, Mary Gingrich, Nancy Steinbach, Janet Garber and William Steinbach; and five grandchildren.
Chester W. Garber

Chester Warren Garber, 71, of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, formerly of Bridgeville and Saudi Arabia, died Monday, August 9, 1999, in his home after a long battle with cancer.
Born August 6, 1928, in Carnegie, he was a son of George and Besse Garber.
Surviving are seven children, including Terry Garber of Canonsburg and Melody Garber Berger of Lawrence; 10 grandchildren, including Shane and Kelsey Buydasz and Logan and Dylan Berger; six brothers and sisters, including Donald Garber of Bridgeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A sister, Nancy Garber Carlisle, is deceased.
Mr. Garber was cremated and his ashes will be scattered in the mountains near his home.

Ruth E. Sneddon, 78, of Bridgeville, formerly of Midway, died January 1, 1999, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born September 18, 1920, in Midway, a daughter of Emil and Clela Rudy Jordan.
A homemaker, Mrs. Sneddon was a 1938 graduate of Midway High School and a member of Center Presbyterian Church of Midway.
On December 7, 1941, she married E. James Sneddon, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, James A. Sneddon of Butler; a daughter, Bonnie R. Williams of Bridgeville; a brother, Raymond Jordan of Midway; a sister, Rachel Jennette of North Huntingdon; eight grandchildren, Donald and Jessica Williams, Virgil, Lance and Chad Neigh, Jennifer Lenhart and Beau and Jeff Sneddon; and one great-grandchild.

James Edward Ferry, 72, of 334 Second Street, California, died at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday, January 26, 1999, in Brownsville General Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1926, in Tidioute, a son of Worthington Norington and Ellen Jane McConeghy Ferry.
Mr. Ferry was Presbyterian. He was a master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
He was a member of Camp Springs Lodge 227 F&AM, Syria Temple Shrine, Pittsburgh; Almas Temple of Washington, D.C., 32nd degree Scottish Rite of Washington, D.C.
Mr. Ferry came to California in 1962 from Washington, D.C. He retired as district auditor for G.C. Murphy Co. after 45 years of service.
He was married to Jane Eileen Williams Ferry, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Barbara Jane Chenevert and Carol Ann Duvall of Dover, Ohio, and Debra Jane Wence of Kernersville, N.C.; one sister, Virginia Jane Ferry of Dravosburg; and 10 grandchildren, Brad, Jennifer, Valerie, Craig, Bryan, Benjamin, Steven, Matthew, Megan and Garrett.

Zerelda Harris, 74, of 390 Rolling Meadows Road, Waynesburg, died at 9 p.m. Sunday, July 11, 1999, in Beverly Health Care, Waynesburg.
She was born November 8, 1924, in Nineveh, a daughter of Walter B. and Gertie Williams Swiger.
Mrs. Harris was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesburg and was a homemaker.
During World War II, she worked for Duncan Miller Glass Factory in Washington and then worked for two years as a statistical checker for W.T. Grant Co. in New York City. Mrs. Harris later worked for 23 years as the society editor for the former Democrat Messenger in Waynesburg.
On June 20, 1946, she married Charles W. Harris, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Linda Mayle of Bruceton Mills, W.Va., Janet Cree of Waynesburg and Joyce Hondru of Mt. Lebanon; four grandchildren, Becky Woods and Bryce, Scott and Troy Cree; three stepgrandsons, Scott, Mark and Todd Hondru; two sisters, Eleanor Tennant of Ft. Mrs. Moose had been a resident of Warren since 1956 and was a member of Cortland Church of Christ.
On December 26, 1928, she married Lloyd "Dutch" Moose, who died January 8, 1975.
Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn Miller and Joan Moose, both of Warren, and Helen Braddock of Willard, Ohio; a sister, Ethel Lough of Littleton, W.Va.; several grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Carl "Cracker" Williams, 76, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Washington, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in Arizona, from complications from a hit-and-run accident.
He was born March 22, 1923, in Washington, a son of Walter and Anna Allen Williams.
Mr. Williams was a driver for Beatty Trucking, Suwak Trucking, Mashuta Construction and Art Proia Trucking.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, both of Phoenix.
Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a champion horseshoe pitcher and was a former member of Horseshoe Club of Arden.
Surviving are three sons, Brandt and Brice Williams, both of Phoenix, and Brian Williams of Oklahoma; two daughters, Carla Carter of Oklahoma, and Melissa of Phoenix; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Heinrich of Bell, Calif., Imogene Lovat and Evelyn Rush, both of Washington; two brothers, Walter Williams Jr. of Ohio, and Raymond Williams of Bellflower, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased is a sister, Clara Moore.

James Henry Markle

James Henry Markle, 84, of Laurel Avenue, Washington, died at 4:30 p.m. Monday, June 14, 1999, in Washington Hospital. He has been in declining health the past six months.
He was born April 26, 1915, in West Newton, a son of C. C. and Eliza Williams Markle.
Mr. Markle was a member of Avery United Methodist Church of Washington.
He was a graduate of Sewickley Township High School and retired as an electrical engineer with Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh.
Mr. Markle was active in Washington Senior Citizens, was a Bible study group leader, a volunteer at Washington Hospital, a member of Derry Volunteer Fire Department for many years, a member of Derry Lions Club and a local pastor.
In June 1940, he married Ruby Cogan, who died December 19, 1983.
Surviving are a son, the Rev. Richard D. Markle of Ridgway; a daughter, Muriel M. Slade of Stoystown; a sister, Bertha Mayers of Bedford, Ohio; five grandchildren, Terrie Huston, Karen and David Slade and Pam and Kevin Markle; and four great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Sarah Emma Markle.

Ross J. Worstell, 84, of Ridge Avenue, Canonsburg, died Sunday, June 13, 1999, in McMurray Hills Manor, McMurray.
He was born September 25, 1914, in Canonsburg, a son of James and Helen Hott Worstell.
Mr. Worstell was a 1932 graduate of Canonsburg High School and retired from U.S. Steel Irvin works.

Mr. Worstell was a former member of Canon Lodge 204 Knights of Pythias.
On January 15, 1941, he married Mildred Williams, who survives.
Also surviving are four sons, James Worstell of Opopka, Fla., Robert and Ronald Worstell, both of Canonsburg, and W. Paul Worstell of Findlay, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Walter L. and Jack Worstell; and two sisters, Laura L. Decker and Helen M. O'Connell.

Robert L. Mills, 79, of Houston Street, Washington, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in the Washington Hospital emergency room.
He was born February 16, 1920, in Vanderbilt, a son of Herbert J. and Bessie Moon Mills.
Mr. Mills was employed by McGraw-Edison for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
His wife, Eula Powell Mills, died December 25, 1976.
Surviving are three daughters, Deborah B. Mills of Washington, Dolores Johnson of Carlow and Gloria Williams of St. Croix; a brother, Melvin L. Mills of Uniontown; three sisters, Fannie Reid of Flint, Mich., Dorothy L. Linton of Uniontown and Frances Smith of Monessen; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Robert Mills; two brothers, Herbert and Charles Mills; and four sisters, Genevieve Madison and Sherdina, Gertrude and Marion Mills.

John R. "Russ" Williams, 80, formerly of Houston, died Monday, June 28, 1999, in Independence Court, Mt. Lebanon.
He was born November 27, 1918, in Courtney, a son of Charles R. and Anna Belle Jones Williams.
Mr. Williams was a 1936 graduate of Cecil High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was employed as a statistician with U.S. Steel Corp. for 37 years, retiring in 1973.
Mr. Williams was a founding member of Chartiers Township Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a member of Chartiers Lodge 297, F&AM; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Pittsburgh; Syria Temple of Pittsburgh, Washington-Greene Caravan; and Odd Fellows Lodge of Washington.
In 1940, he married Twila Lucille Jeffreys, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Joan Lynn Wright of Upper St. Clair; and three granddaughters, Bethany, Aimee and Courtney Wright.

Jennie Bruno, 93, of Houston, died Saturday, February 27, 1999, at Candlelight Assisted Living of Washington.
She was born March 27, 1905, in Westland, a daughter of Rocco and Julia Rogona Fazzolari.
Mrs. Bruno lived most of her life in the Houston area.
She was a member of St. Patrick Parish, Canonsburg, and its Christian Mothers and Guild.
Prior to retirement in 1973, she was employed for 25 years as a brusher at W.S. George Pottery Co., Canonsburg.
Surviving are two grandchildren, JoAnn F. Bruno and Carl F. Bruno Jr.; three sisters, Angeline Pellegrini of Houston, Esther Sneppenger of Cleveland, Ohio, and Cathyrn Trylko of New Port Richey, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Carl F. Bruno Sr., who died September 6, 1993; two brothers, Frank and Dominick Fazzolari; and three sisters, Theresa Semenick, Elizabeth Swanson and Rose Russell.

Russell Eger, 62, of Mt. Pleasant Township, died Saturday, February 27, 1999, in his home.
He was born November 5, 1936, in Collier Township, a son of the late Andrew and Ellen McKenna Eger.
He was a 1955 graduate of Scott Township High School.
He worked in the power builder department of Cooper Industries, where he was a supervisor in the same department before retiring in 1993.
He had been working for the past two years at Pennsylvania Transformer Technology Inc.
Mr. Eger was a member of St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, McDonald, where he served as an usher and was a member of its softball team.
He was a member of the White Eagles Society bowling team in Canonsburg.
On May 10, 1958, he married Lillian Bobich, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Cynthia Gaskill, Deborah Welesko and Andrea Garry, all of Mt. Pleasant Township, and Belinda DeMark of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Andrew Eger of McKees Rocks and Thomas Eger of Green Tree; a sister, Ellen Nidbella of Crafton; and five grandchildren, Elizabeth and Rebekah Welesko, Joyous and Faith DeMark, and John Gaskill.
His twin brother, Ronald Eger, died in 1998.

Nellie L. Roach Greer, 89, formerly of Broad Street, Washington, died Saturday, February 27, 1999, in Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness.
She was born January 19, 1910, in Washington, a daughter of Joseph Henderson and Sara Anna Luellen Roach.
Mrs. Greer was a homemaker, a member of Broad Street Baptist Church, a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 687 where she played dartball for 26 years, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22.
On June 8, 1931, she married Maynard Earl Greer, who died August 8, 1979.
Surviving are two daughters, Dolores Joan (Dody) Gump of Washington and Peggy Roland of Panama City, Fla.; a sister, Jean Snyder of Washington; six grandchildren, LuAnn Knox, Jeffrey and Kelly Gump and Darlene, Fred and Todd Kuhn; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Patty Jean Greer; two sisters, Norma Heatley and a sister who died in infancy; and five brothers, Donald, William, Harold, Leonard and Jack Roach.

He was born July 17, 1926, in Richeyville.
Mr. Haftman was a member of Gospel Alliance Church of Charleroi.
He was retired from Corning Glass Co., where he worked in quality control.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Ann Haftman of Charleroi; two sons, Thomas Edward Haftman of Florida and Timothy John Haftman of Charleroi; three brothers, Robert Haftman and Bernard Haftman, both of Ohio, and Donald Haftman of North Carolina; a sister, Dolores Cheroki of Monessen; a granddaughter, Kristine Lynn Haftman; and two great-granddaughters.
Deceased are his wife, Amy Marguerite Cadwell Haftman; a sister, Lillian; and a brother, Henry.

Carmen S. Hajduk, 87, of 7820 Noblestown Road, McDonald, died Friday, February 26, 1999, in Ohio Valley Hospital, McKees Rocks.
She was born October 15, 1911, in Sturgeon, a daughter of Paul and Erma Marin Scheers.
Mrs. Hajduk was a supervisor at the Oakdale Nike Site post exchange.
Surviving are two children, Jean DeCarlo and Sandy Simpson; and three grandchildren, Danielle DeCarlo Glancy, Todd DeCarlo and Brandon Simpson.
Her husband, John J. Hajduk, died in 1967.

Norma Jean Hopkins, 70, of Sycamore Street, Washington, died at 8:25 p.m. Saturday, February 27, 1999, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington, following a one-year illness.
She was born March 20, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of George and Josephine Yaros Stewart.
Mrs. Hopkins was a homemaker and a member of St. Hilary Roman Catholic Church, Washington.
She was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School.
She was named glass queen at Hazel-Atlas Glass Co. in 1959.
In August 1947, she married Earl W. Bradley, who died in 1960. On March 4, 1969, she married Charles R. Hopkins, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Ronald E. Bradley of Franklin; two daughters, Judith Jean Trapuzzano and Rhonda J. Hopkins, both of Washington; two sisters, Josephine Craig of Avella and Ruth Ferlich of Washington; five grandchildren, Tammy Nicholls, Darcie Bradley, Kelly Klinefelter, Ronald E. Bradley II and Michelle Trapuzzano; and two great-grandchildren.
At the request of deceased, there will be no public visitation. Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment in Washington Cemetery.

Mrs. Ingani was a waitress at Rego's Restaurant in Charleroi for many years and was employed at Volkswagen prior to it closing.
She was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Roman Catholic Church of Monessen.
Surviving are her husband, Vincent T. Ingani; a son, Vincent S. Ingani of Mansfield, Ohio; five sisters, Margaret Leber of McKeesport, Ann Miller of Monongahela and Fran Daley, Theresa Phillips and Dolores Lipniskis, all of Brownsville; and two brothers, Ray Cerankosky of Waterford, Mich., and Charles Cerankosky of Richmond Heights, Ohio.

Joseph Lubas, 77, of Peters Township, died Friday, February 26, 1999.
He was born July 3, 1921, in Pittsburgh, a son of Jacob and Mary Lubas.
Mr. Lubas was a member of St. Benedict the Abbott Church, McMurray.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, serving with the 379th Squadron, and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He was an honored inductee of the Wall of Valor at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 764 of McMurray.
Mr. Lubas was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, receiving a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering, and was retired from U.S. Steel.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lubas; a daughter, Aimee McCarthy of Richmond, Va.; a son, Randy Lubas of Santa Monica, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Matt and Ben McCarthy; two brothers, John and Jacob Lubas, both of Johnstown; four sisters, Louise Kozielic of Johnstown, Maria Buraga of River Edge, N.J., Helen Taylor of San Jose, Calif., and Janet Pfender of Drumore; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Diana L. Malinak
Active with Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church
Diana L. Malinak, 68, of Meadow Lands, died at 12:38 a.m. Friday, February 26, 1999, in Canonsburg Hospital.
She was born February 12, 1931, in Washington, a daughter of Steve and Anna Maglee Mihalovich.
Mrs. Malinak was a 19-year resident of Meadow Lands, where she was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church and its Christian Mothers, was an active member of the church flea market and traveled with their Goldenagers.
She enjoyed growing flowers.
Before retirement in 1969, Mrs. Malinak was a packer at Brockway 7 Plant in Washington.
On December 7, 1950, she married Richard P. Malinak, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Bernice Pagano of Houston; three sisters, Helen Greene and Sally Rutan, both of Washington, and Vivian Craig of West Middletown; three grandchildren, Kelly, Nicole and Alyson Pagano; and several nieces and nephews

Michael Markham
Missionary born in Slovan
The Rev. Michael Markham, 79, of the state of California, formerly of Slovan, died January 30, 1999, in Moorpark, Calif.
He was born August 22, 1919, in Slovan, a son of Nick and Lata Yaksic.
He resided in California for the past 55 years.
Following service with the U.S. Army from 1941-45, he attended the American Baptist Seminar in Berkeley, Calif., and was ordained a minister in 1953. He pastored many churches in California before establishing Michael Markham Ministries in 1980. From 1980 until his death, he dedicated his life to world outreach and evangelism, preaching and teaching in countries such a Yugoslavia, Korea, the Philippines, Greece, Romania and most recently, Bosnia.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis; three daughters, Eileen Kehman of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Laurie Norris of Simi Valley, Calif., and Kathleen Nelson of Anaheim Hills, Calif.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Nick Yaksic of Rancho Cordova, Calif.; a sister, Mildred Yaksic Hooge of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Marko, who died in 1943, while serving in World War II, and George Yaksic; and a sister, Sara Yaksic Rozmus.
A memorial service was held at Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village, Calif., where he was pastor emeritus. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Community Church for missions outreach and world evangelization.
Mildred McGlumphy
Owned Wind Ridge gasoline and recapping business
Mildred O. "Midge" McGlumphy, 95, of Wind Ridge, died at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 26, 1999, in the Beverly Health Care Center, Waynesburg.
She was born May 24, 1903, in Richhill Township, a daughter of Armstrong Grim and Elizabeth Jennings Nelson. She resided in the Richhill Township and Wind Ridge areas all her life.
Mrs. McGlumphy was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Wind Ridge, and was a 1924 graduate of Richhill High School.
She was a charter member of the Richhill Township Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, a member of Wind Ridge Missionary Society and the Ross Hill Garden Club.
Mrs. McGlumphy served as a secretary and treasurer of the Fairview Cemetery Board for more than 50 years, was a volunteer at the Jacktown Fair for several years and during World War II was a volunteer with the Ambulance Corps in Wind Ridge.
She and her husband were co-owners and operators of McGlumphy & Son gasoline and tire recapping in Wind Ridge for more than 30 years prior to her closing the business and retiring in 1968.
On June 21, 1924, she married Harley Ray McGlumphy, who died in 1967.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sisters, Hazel Nelson Ruth and Rae Nelson Staggers. She was the last of her immediate family.
Helen Marie Morello

Helen Marie Morello, 71, of Ellsworth, died at 10:23 p.m. Friday, February 26, 1999, in Washington Hospital.
She was born May 26, 1927, in Logan, W.Va., a daughter of John and Anne Milnarcik Kurpas.
Mrs. Morello was a member of Ave Maria Parish, Ellsworth.
Surviving are four daughters, Debbie Godish and Karen Walters, both of Washington, Mary Jo Andrews of Las Vegas, Nev., and Donna Ferris of Cokeburg; two sons, Frank Morello Jr. of Cokeburg and Richard Morello of Bentleyville; nine grandchildren, Benjamin and Brian Ronick, Ashley Andrews, Rachael Morello, Eric Adams, Katie and Alan Ferris Jr. and Amanda and Nicole Vogt.
Her husband, Frank Morello Sr., died February 18, 1996.
Also deceased are four brothers, Victor, Joseph, John and Pete; and a sister, Cecelia Kelley.

Mrs. Poskin was a homemaker and a member of St. Agatha Church of Holy Child Parish, Bridgeville.
On February 16, 1946, she married Douglas E. Poskin, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Chris Poskin of Cecil; two daughters, Debra O'data of South Fayette Township and Lisa Wagner of Upper St. Clair Township; a sister, Nell Pasteryk of Bridgeville; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

James E. Quinto Sr., 65, of Rostraver Township, died at his home Friday, February 26, 1999.
He was born April 25, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a son of Emma Gini Quinto of Fellsburg and the late Patsy Quinto.
Mr. Quinto was former owner of Industrial Roofing and Painting Co. and Quinto Trucking Co., both in Webster. He was founder of Quinto Manor, Rostraver Township.
He was a member of Chapel of Holy Cross, Webster, was a charter member of Webster Boat Club and belonged to the American Legion in Monessen.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Jane Behanna Quinto; four sons, John J. Sr., Lawrence L., James E. Jr. and Patsy S. Quinto, all of Rostraver Township; a daughter, Cindy Quinto Turner of Rostraver Township; a brother, Ronald L. Quinto Sr. of Rostraver Township; a half-brother, Edward Medley of Georgia; a sister, Marlene Moreschi of Webster; five grandchildren, John J. Edward W. Radcliff, 60, of Mt. Morris R.D.1, died at 7 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 1999, at home.
He was born April 8, 1938, in Fairmont, W.Va., a son of the late William and Vinnie Ethel Ott Radcliff.
Mr. Radcliff was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle, Assembly of God.
He was employed by L&J Equipment at Hatfield Power Plant in Masontown for 10 years, and for 30 years owned and operated Radcliff Busing in Mt. Morris.
Mr. Radcliff was a member of Mt. Morris Sportsman Club, Bobtown Rod and Gun Club, Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461 and James T. Maxon American Legion Post 992 of Mt. Morris.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Radcliff; two daughters, Cathy Ann Radcliff-Fox and Mary Katheryn Kelley, both of Mt. Morris; two sons, Timothy William and Thomas Edward Radcliff, both of Mt. Morris; four grandchildren, Donny and Blake Kelley and Shawn and Derek Radcliff; a sister, Elizabeth Gillis of Morgantown, W.Va.; two brothers, Gerald Ratliff of Mt. Frank M. Rhoades

Frank M. Rhoades, 74, of West Alexander (West Finley Township), died Sunday, February 28, 1999, in his home.
He was born November 27, 1924, in Dallas, W.Va., a son of Paul E. and Mary Lea Guy Rhoades.
He was a member of Windy Gap Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Rhoades was a World War II veteran in the Pacific Theater, having served with the U.S. Army as a medic.
Until his retirement in 1985, he was employed for 31 years as a well tender for Columbia Gas Co., where he was a member of the Quarter-Century Club.
Mr. Rhoades was a member of West Alexander American Legion Post 656, Odd Fellows Lodge 94 in Triadelphia, W.Va., the Triadelphia Marching Band, and bands in West Alexander and Dallas.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, woodworking and camping.
On July 12, 1946, in Dallas, he married Martha L. Black, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William Edward Rhoades of West Alexander; three daughters, Connie Clutter of West Finley Township, Sandra Stollar of Claysville and Janice Ullom of West Finley Township; two sisters, Margaret King of Wheeling, W.Va., and Ruth Kline of Reading; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandson, Kenneth Bradley; a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Mary Stollar; and a stepgrandson, Dennis Ray Hartzell.
