Kim R. Hall, 24, of Bolivar RD 1, died Friday, Nov. 21, 1980 in Fairfield Twp. He was born Oct. 16, 1956 in Johnstown, a son of Francis A. and Estella M. (Neiport) Hall. In addition to his parents he is survived by these sisters and brothers; Mrs. Bonnie Clawson of Bolivar; Mrs. Donna Fulcomer of Bolivar RD.; Mrs. Cheryl Penrose of West Bolivar; and James F. and Christ W. both at home; also paternal grandfather, James P. Hall of West Bolivar and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held today, Tuesday at the First Church of Christ, West Bolivar, with the Rev. Joseph Zavadsky officiating. Olive Howard, 99, of Armagh, died Sept. 2, 2001 at Church of the Brethren Home. She was born May 18, 1902 in Johnstown, daughter of Dr. E. J. and Belle (Hildebrand) Burkhart. She was a member of Third Brethern Church and its missionary society. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence F. Howard; a daughter, Lois L. Howard; four brothers, Morris, Earl, Blair, and John Burkhart, and a sister, Viola Burkhart. She is survived by three sons, Richard A. Howard (and his wife, Charlotte), of Armagh, William C. Howard (and his wife, Judith) of Waukegan, Ill., and Kenneth A. Howard (and his wife, Bernadee) of Croydon; eight grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Alverta M. Hall, 70, of Stahlstown, died Sunday evening Nov. 24, 2002, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Cook Twp., a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Sanders) Sleasman. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Hidden Valley Ski Resort and the Idlewild Park. She is survived by her husband of 52 years. Calvin James Hall; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Helen) Fetterman of Ligonier and Mrs. Harry (Patty) Jellison of Derry; three sons, Roger W., (and his wife, Judy) Hall of Stahlstown, John W. Mrs. Warren (Phyllis L.) Hall Jr., 61, of Boca Raton, Fla., formerly of New Florence and Johnstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 8, 1979, at Presbyterian University Hospital, Pittsburgh. Mrs. Hall was born July 12, 1918, in Robinson, the daughter of the late H. Jay and Laura (Duncan) Bowser. She was a former member of the First Lutheran Church, Johnstown. In addition to her husband she is survived by a daughter, Stephanie and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Graff and Mrs. Bernice Wagner, both of New Florence. Funeral service was held Friday at First Lutheran Church, Johnstown, the Rev. Dr. Robert G. Swanson officiating. Entombment was in Grandview Mausoleum. The Kenneth A. Glenn William Hall
Glenn William Hall, 62, of Ligonier RD 1, died Monday, Dec. 26, 1994, in Latrobe Area Hospital. He was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Charles Edward and Margaret (Tosh) Hall. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a self-employed farmer and greenhouse operator. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Jay D. Surviving are his wife, Faye J. McBurney Hall; a daughter, Julie J. Hall of Pittsburgh; a sister, Mrs. Jack (Margaret A.) Offenbach of Pittsburgh, and many nieces and nephews. James P. Hall, 93, of Bolivar RD 1, died July 9, 2000, at home. He was born Sept. 4, 1906 in Robinson, son of Francis B. and Fanny E. Palmer Hall. Before his retirement at the age of 68 he was a carpenter with Gamble Construction, Bolivar. He was a member of First Church of Christ, Bolivar, where he was an elder for 74 years. He also was a member of Woodsmen of the World, Omaha, Neb.; UMWA District 2, Black Lick, and Carpenters Union 1419, Johnstown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Winifred G. Wynn Hall, in 1980; brothers Gerald and Reese Hall and sisters Grace Cable, Sylvia Howard, and Ruth Arford. He is survived by a daughter, Gertrude (Mrs. James) Garland of Bolivar RD 1; three sons, Francis A. Hall (and his wife Estella) and James E. William R. "Bill" Hall, 46, of New Florence RD 1, died Wednesday, June 25, 1997 in Ligonier Twp. He was born Oct. 3, 1950 in Latrobe, a son of Bernice Cox Hall Friend of Latrobe and the late William R. Hall. He owned and operated Mirror Lake Campground for 14 years and was a partner in Mirror Lake Auto. He was a former member of Fairfield Fire Department and was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Debra Keffer Hall; two daughters, Shanna Lyn and Amber Marie, both at home; a brother, B. Richard of Derry; two sisters, Joyce Hall of Jeannette and Mrs. George (Karen) Hendricks of Darlington; his stepfather, Dominic Friend of Latrobe; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Raymond L. Howard
Raymond L. Howard, 73, of Johnstown, formerly of New Florence died Wednesday, July 21, 1993 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. He was born Aug. 12, 1919, in New Florence, a son of the late Curtis and Pearl S. (Oliver) Howard. He was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, New Florence Lion's Club; Chapter 2, DAV, Johnstown; Lodge 331 F&AM, Ligonier Scottish Rite Lodge Coudersport; Jaffa Temple, Altoona; and Lodge 523, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired shift supervisor for Pennsylvania Electric Company, Seward Generating Station. He was preceded in death by his wife Viola (Allison) Howard, and a brother, Paul E. Howard. He is survived by three brothers, Homer W. and Harry F. Howard, both of New Florence RD 1; and Fred C. Howard of Mason, Ohio; a number of nieces and nephews; and stepmother, Margaret Howard of Seward. Friends were received at the Kenneth A. Thomas H. "Red" Hill Sr., 45, of Indiana, died Saturday, May 24, 1986 as the result of an auto accident. Mr. Hill was born Aug. 4, 1940 in Seward son of the late Henry Elmer and Gussie Ressler Hill. He was a Navy veteran. Survivors include six children, Jeffrey L. , Pease AFB, New Hampshire, Mrs. Timothy (Jacqueline) Debick, Avonmore, Mrs. Randall (Donna) Caramellino, Leechburg, Thomas H. Jr., Barbara Jean and John Matthew, Homer City RD 2; Also surviving are a granddaughter; a brother and four sisters, Ronnie and Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Phipps, Struthers, Ohio, Mrs. Forrest (Grace) Swank and Mrs. Russell (Shirley) Miller, both of Iona, N. Joseph Metsgar Hill, 87, Seward, died July 13, 2002, at home. Born July 13, 1915, in New Florence, he was the son of Edward and Margaret Metsgar Hill. He was a member of Seward United Methodist Church and former member of United Mine Workers District 2 and Operating Engineers Local 66. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Delores Burggraf; his brothers, Samuel, Victor, Charles and John, and his sister, Hannah Marsh. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mildred Berkhammer Hill; Also children, Joseph and wife Linda, Palm Desert, Calif., Mrs. Arthur (Helen) Boring, New Florence, Richard and wife Helen, Seward, Mrs. Vincent (Shirley) Clark, New Alexandria, Robert and wife Louella, Seward and Ronald and wife, Sally, New Florence. he is also survived by 20 grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; brother, John; and sister, Mildred Hill. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the Robinson VFW and Bolivar American Legion. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Lever Knight Hill; four children, Mrs. Augie (Hazel E.) Dipofi, Bolivar, Harry E. Jr., at home, Henry E. Homer City and Thomas E. "Joe", Marion Center; Also surviving are six grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Thomas E., Homer City, Ronnie and Mildred Phipps, both of Youngstown, Ohio, Helen Grace Swank, Pennsville, N.J., Hazel Jean Reynolds, Middletown and Shirley Ruth Miller, Franklinville, N.J. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Kenneth Stevenson, Matthew Allen, William George, Elmer Roy, Annie Margaret and Minella Mae. Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ondriezek Funeral Home, Seward, Rev. Robert Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in Armagh Cemetery.

HAIRE, Mrs. Cora (Hill), 83, New Florence, died Dec. 27, 1960 in home of daughter, Mrs. Glenn Berkstresser, New Florence. Born in Bradenville, Pa., Apr. 18, 1877, daughter of Jacob R. and Susan (Hullenbaugh) Hill. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Virginia Berkstresser, with whom she resided and son, Alvin, Petersburg, W. Va.; also six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Maude McCullough, Tucson, Ariz. Preceded in death by husband, Griffith L. and infant daughter, Garnet. NEW FLORENCE
William M. Haire, 86, a retired farmer of Ligonier Valley, died yesterday morning in Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. He was a native of Somerset County, having been born there on Mar. 29, 1857. Surviving are four children--Mrs. H. A. McMullen, Joseph L. and Quay Haire, all of New Florence, and Mrs. John A. Rummel, Bolivar RD 1. Friends are being received at the R.S. Wagner Funeral Home here, where services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be in the West Fairfield Cemetery.

Albert L. Haire, 72, of Derry Twp. near Blairsville, lost his life Saturday night when he was struck by an automobile on the William Penn Highway in Blairsville. He was pronounced dead on admission to Latrobe Hospital. Hospital attaches said the man had suffered a fracture of the skull. Blairsville police said Haire was struck by a car driven by Nelson H. Gundy, 18, of near New Alexandria. Gundy told police he was traveling up a grade after crossing the Bairdstown bridge and that the aged man stepped from the rear of a parked car into the path of his machine. Police said that Gundy brought his car to a stop within 10 feet after striking the pedestrian. Gundy was released pending the outcome of an inquest. Albert L. Haire was born in New Florence on July 24, 1869. He was a son of James and Clemzy (Caldwell) Haire. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Anna (DeWalt) Haire, Johnstown, and five children--Mrs. Alice Keifer, Johnstown; Mrs. Irene Shaffer, Windber; Mrs. Daniel Gagliardo, New York City, N.Y.; William Haire, Johnstown, and Matthew Haire, Derry. He was a brother of James Haire, Blairsville; Mrs. William Hammer, Blairsville; Mrs. Adam Feathers, East Freedom; Mrs. Flora Shetler, Bolivar and Mrs. Clark Campbell, Livermore. There are 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the home of his son, Matthew Haire, in Derry by Rev. A. W. Sandberg, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Blairsville. Interment in Laurel Hill Cemetery, New Florence, will be directed by the Ferguson Funeral home, Blairsville.

Inez M. Haire
Inez M. Haire, 86, of New Florence, died Nov. 10, 2000 at UPMC Lee Regional, Johnstown. She was born Jan. 29, 1914, in St. Clair Twp., daughter of John and Sadie Anna Junkins Cramer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; sons Robert and Kenneth; brothers William, Jim, Harry, and Carl Cramer, and her sister, Geneva Merker. She is survived by five sons, Lewis (and his wife Barbara) of Hershey, Ronald of Baltimore, Harold (and his wife Diana) of Blairsville, Thomas (and his wife Beverly) of Windber, and Clifford (and his wife Mary Ann) of Jerome; three daughters, Anna (Mrs. William) Jillin of New Florence, Betty (Mrs. Carl) Eastlake-Snider of Florida, and Mary Lou Figard of New Florence; 25 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren, and a brother, Kenneth Cramer of Derry. The family is grateful to Visiting Nurses Association and Extended Care Nursing Association, both of Indiana (Pa.) for the care given to Inez. Funeral service was held Tuesday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence with the Rev. Michael Clark officiating. Burial was in Armagh Cemetery.

Merle R. Haire
Merle R. Haire, 91, of Armagh, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997 at Lee Hospital, Johnstown. He was born March 25, 1905 in New Florence, a son of the late Riley and Ada (Perdue) Haire. He was a member of Armagh United Methodist Church Armagh Senior Citizens, and Clyde Fire Company. He was a retired employee of Bethlehem Steel Corp., Car Shop Division. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Berstch; and six brothers, Riley, Paul, Howard, Donald, Matthew, and George. He is survived by his wife, Sedena Bidleman Haire; and three sisters, Marguerite DeWitt of New Florence; Imogene Wagner of Johnstown; and Betty Page of Greensburg. Friends were received at the Richard C. Stuart Funeral Home, Armagh, where services were held Tuesday, with the Rev. John E. Flower Jr. officiating. Burial was in Armagh Cemetery.

Viola K. Hughes

Viola K. Hughes, 90, of Latrobe RD 2, died Tuesday, July 22, 2003, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Robinson, West Wheatfield Twp., daughter of the late Bert and Leona A. Pinkerton King. A 70 year member of Latrobe Presbyterian Church, she was a deacon, past choir member and past president and treasurer of the Naomi Bible Class. She volunteered for many years at blood drivers for the American Red Cross, and was awarded the Clara Barton Award. She was a 7th degree member of the Pennsylvania State Grange for more than 70 years. She was also a member of the New Alexandria Community Grange, the Former Derry Twp. Grange and a former member of the Derry Women's Club, where she was an officer. She was preceded in death by her husband Vertis in 1990; brothers, William, Wilbert and Christy; sisters, Ann Horner Chinchock and Leona Marriott. Surviving are a daughter, Eleanor Burns; two grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Service will be held at 10 a.m. today in Unity Chapel, Lloydsville, Rev. Christy Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery.

Born Saturday Oct. 15, 1921 in Robinson, daughter of Clark and Matilda (Nixon) Miller. Preceded in death by parents; husband, the Rev. William E. Hoover in 1999; sisters, Margaret Moody and Betty Kells; brothers, Walter Miller, Keith Miller and John Miller; and sisters, Mary Etta Liebold, Helen Long and Alma Burkett. Survived by children; Patricia, married to Arthur Figurski, Kernersville, N.C.; William E. Jr. and wife, Kathleen , York; Judy, Married to Marvin Thomas, Thomas Mills; Cathy, married to Robert Phillips, York; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Gladys Miller, Erie; and Connie Dunsmore, Pitcairn. Mrs. Hoover lived in Natrona Heights, Fairchance, East McKeesport, Sebring, Fla., Spring Grove and Kernersville, N.C. before moving to Somerset. She was a pastor's wife, having helped serve with several Church of the Brethren parishes with her husband.
