YORK - Howard A. Ziegler, 88, of York, died at 6:19 p.m. Friday at his home. He was the husband of Ruth C. (Schlosser) Ziegler, to whom he was married for 64 years.
The service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church of York, 150 Jefferson Ave., York. Burial will be private in Greenmount Cemetery, York. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mr. Ziegler was born March 20, 1912, in York. He was the son of the late Michael Marcellus and Emma F. (Kline) Ziegler.
He retired from Campbell Chain as a traffic manager; prior to that, he worked at D.S. Peterman and York Motor Freight.
He was a life member of the former Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and superintendent; he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of York; he was the former president of the York Traffic Club; a ICC practitioner from Penn State University; he was a 1929 graduate of York High.
Mr. Ziegler also is survived by a son, Michael J. Ziegler of Binghamton, N.Y.; two daughters, Helenlta L. Zeigler of York and Rebecca J. Myers of Dallastown; six grandchildren; a great-grandson; and a sister, Helen L. Ziegler of York.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Judith McKee.

JACOBUS - Chester L. Adams, 70, of Jacobus, died at 4:37 p.m. Sunday at his home. He was the husband of Ethel M. (Nair) Adams. The couple observed their 44th wedding anniversary Dec. 4.
The service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Codorus Church of the Brethren, 1129 Dunkard Valley Road, Loganville. Burial will be in Bowser's Cemetery in New Freedom. Viewing will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. The J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary Inc., 24 Second St., New Freedom, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Adams was born June 23, 1930, in York. He was the son of the late Chester A. and Nora (Sloat) Adams.
He worked for the former York Shipley-Humble, retiring in the 1990s. He was a member of Codorus Church of the Brethren in Loganville.
Mr. Adams also is survived by a sister, Janet Strickler of York.

YORK - Phyllis J. Boyer, 71, of Windsor Township, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday at Manor Care Health Services South, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Norman Boyer Jr.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Baumeister, Orcutt and Small Mortuaries Inc., South Queen and Jackson streets, York. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Boyer was born Oct. 19, 1928, in York. She was the daughter of the late William W. and Edna L. (Perry) Reigart.
She worked in cigar factories.

RED LION - Russel C. Burkholder, 78, of Red Lion, died at 2 a.m. Monday at his home, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Romaine E. (Snyder) Burkholder. The couple observed their 54th wedding anniversary Feb. 21.
The service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Burg Funeral Home Inc., 134 W. Broadway, Red Lion. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, with a flag-folding ceremony by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Burkholder was born July 20, 1922, in Woodbine. He was the son of the late John and Mildred (McClune) Burkholder.
He was a cable splicer for G.T.E. for 30 years. He was a 42-year member of Red Lion American Legion Post 543 and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Timber Wolf Infantry in the European Theater.
Mr. Burkholder also is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hamm was born May 1, 1933, in York. She was the daughter of the late Elbridge K. and Dorothy (Lichty) Ludwig.
She was an office manager, secretary and dental assistant for her late husband and son. She was a member of Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in York and its nominating committee and altar guild. She was also a member and past president of Episcopal Church Women and of Women's Alliance York County Dental Society; she was a member of Out Door Country Club; she attended Dickinson College in Carlisle and was a 1950 graduate of Eichelberger High School in Hanover.
Mrs. Hamm is survived by a son, Dr. G.L. Hamm III, D.M.D., of Dover; a daughter, Jo Hamm of Dallastown; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Kluyber was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Dante, Va. He was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Tomka) Kluyber.
He was a tool grinder at Caterpillar in York, retiring in 1986 after 31 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal with two bronze stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal with two bronze stars. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7045 and the Swinging Seniors bowling league at Colonial Park Lanes North.
Mr. Kluyber is survived by three sons, Dennis J. Kluyber and Joseph Kluyber Jr., both of York, and Jeffrey L. Kluyber of Red Lion; a daughter, Mary Jo Kluyber of York; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Kluyber of York; three sisters, Irene McGee of Pasadena, Md., Mary Christian of Middlesex, Vt., and Julia Ellis of Longmont, Colo.; and nieces and nephews.

Miss Malott was the daughter of Mary S. Malott of Dover and Dean R. Malott Sr. of York.
She was an emergency medical technician in York City and the Harrisburg area and worked at the correction office in Dauphin County. She was a member of E.M.T. and firefighter associations; she attended St. David's Evangelical Congregational Church in Weigelstown and Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill; she attended Harrisburg Area Community College and was a 1982 graduate of Dover Area High School.
Miss Malott also is survived by two brothers, Gy. Sgt. Dean R. Malott Jr. of Fort Lee, Va., and George E. Malott of Dallas, Pa.; a sister, Marci Anne Malott of York; and a nephew.

He was a lifelong dairy farmer. He farmed in White Hall, Md., for the past 60 years; prior to that, he farmed with his brothers in Sweet Air, Md. He attended Vernon United Methodist Church in White Hall, Md.
Mr. Miller also is survived by two sons, Paul Frederick Miller Jr. and Gary Miller, both of White Hall, Md.; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Schiedt of Strasburg.
