He was retired from Giant Food Store, Carlisle; lived at Dressler’s Campsites, Liverpool, during the summer months; and a social member of the American Legion, Enola.
He was the widower of Romaine Jumper.
Surviving are two sisters, Loretta A. Hillebrand of San Jose, Calif., and Patty Phillips of Mechanicsburg; two brothers, Leonard P. of Marysville and Dellis L. of San Antonio, Texas.
Graveside services were held Feb. 26 in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

RALPH E. KLINE
He was born May 5, 1919 in Juniata Twp. to the late Charles R. Kline and Amelia Flickinger.
He was a retired farmer; a former member of the Newport School Board; a past president of the Perry County Extension Service; and a member of Wila United Methodist Church, F&AM Lodge 381, Royal Arch Chapter 238, Harrisburg Consistory, Perry-Juniata Shrine Club, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Newport Lions Club, Oliver Grange 459, Pennsylvania Farmers Association, Zembo Shrine, Harrisburg, and its Luncheon Club.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Bitting Kline; two sisters, Mary Horting of Newport and Reba Jones of Greencastle; and a granddaughter, Sara Hagele Kline.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gary.
Services were held Feb. 16 in his church with the Revs. David Arnold and Donald Firestone officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

WILLIAM D. MADER
He was born Nov. 13, 1919 in Harrisburg to the late Samuel and Mary (Stemler) Mader.
He was retired from Conrail; a Navy veteran of World War II; a member, former Sunday school superintendent, lay leader and trustee of Asbury United Methodist Church, Duncannon; past president of Duncannon Borough Council and a councilman for 35 years; board member and former treasurer of Evergreen Cemetery; and a member of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, Perry County Republican Committee, Shermanata Grange, Perry Lodge F&AM, Duncannon Fire Company, Duncannon High School Alumni Association, Duncannon Golden Agers and Senior Citizens, Perry County Historical Society and The Perry Historians.
He was the widower of Nonny, Mary and Marie Mader.
Surviving are two sons, William D. of Harrisburg and Richard E. of Bernville; a stepson, Fred C. Noye of Elliottsburg; a daughter, D. Patricia Reilly of Winter Haven, Fla.; a brother, Richard C. of Hoopeston, Ill.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 27 in his church with the Revs. David Willard and Dale Rosenberger officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.

MARGARET G. SHIREMAN
She attended Shermans Dale United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Charles H. Miller.
Surviving are two sisters, Catherine Keller of Lebanon and Blanche Americk of Utah, and several nieces.
Services were held Feb. 23 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. N. Jefferson Brewster officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
MARY E. WENTZEL
She was born Jan. 27, 1902 in Spring Twp. to the late Ralph and Willemina (Bolze) Zeigler.
She was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Bridgeport, and enjoyed embroidering and crocheting.
She was the widow of Miles L. Wentzel.
Surviving are two nephews, Harold Fleisher and David Wentzel, both of Landisburg; and two nieces, Helen Fornwald of Wilmington, Del., and Dorothy Gault of Camp Hill.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Miles D. and Robert; and a daughter, Doris Wentzel.
Services were held Feb. 26 in her church with the Rev. George Martz officiating. Burial was in the church Cemetery.

CAROL L. MICHAELS
She was born Aug. 21, 1946 in Harrisburg to the late Norman and Mildred (Meredith) Walters.
She enjoyed her grandchildren.
She was the widow of Ronald L. Michaels Jr.
Surviving are a son, Ronald L. Jr. of Shermans Dale; two daughters, Dina Michaels of Newport and Michele Swain of Duncannon; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Norman Michaels; two brothers, Norman Walters Jr. and Eugene Reeber; and two sisters, Norma Kinsler and Shirley Reeber.
Services were held Feb. 25 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Kutz Cemetery, Carlisle.

GLORIA J. PHILLIPS
She was employed at Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 28 years; a member of Heart of Grace Community Church, Shermans Dale; and a care giver for her mother.
She was the widow of Edward Phillips, who died in 1993.
Surviving are two sons, William Erney of Shermans Dale and Troy Erney of Thompsontown; a stepson, Jeff Phillips; her mother, Gladys Snyder of Mechanicsburg; a sister, Betty Clapper of Camp Hill; and five grandchildren, Heather, Brook, Bobbi Jo, Joe and Zane.
Services were held Feb. 22 in Neill Funeral Home, Camp Hill. Burial was in Tri County Memorial Gardens, Lewisberry.
PAUL E. SHAW
He was born Aug. 20, 1938 in Crystal Spring, Fulton County, to Ruth Mellott Shaw Duvall of Duncannon and the late Simon Shaw.
He was retired from Hempt Brothers, Camp Hill; a member of the Pennsylvania State Hunters Organization of Meadow Grove, Hunters Valley Sportsmen’s Association, Newport Social Order of Owls, Newport and Duncannon American Legion posts, VFW Post 255, Duncannon, and Millerstown Loyal Order of the Moose.
In addition to his mother, surviving are a companion, Sharon M. Arnold; a son, Simon E. of Newport; a daughter, Glenda L. of Duncan-non; a brother, Robert P. of Great Falls, Mont.; and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Marie Seitz, and a sister, Joan E. Shaw.
Services were held Feb. 22 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Richard Hanshaw officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.
JOY L. ZERANCE
She was born Aug. 30, 1974 in Carlisle.
She was an employee of Pennsylvania Blue Shield; a 1992 graduate of West Perry High School, Elliottsburg, and a 1996 graduate of the former Central Pennsylvania Business School, Summerdale; and enjoyed crafts, music, reading and refinishing furniture.
Surviving are her husband, Jebadiah S. Zerance; and her parents, Robert and Jean Radle Sharar, and paternal grandmother, Elsie Sharar, all of Newport.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, David and Bertha Radle, and paternal grandfather, Richard “Gil” Sharar Sr.
Services were held Feb. 23 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport. with the Rev. Joseph Sheppard officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown.
JOYCE L. SMITH
She was born Dec. 28, 1947 in Newport to Ruth A. Adams of Newport and the late G. Merle Adams.
She had taught mathematics at Fairfield High School and had been a computer systems analyst for the state Department of Labor and Industry; was a graduate of Newport High School and Shippensburg University; and a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband of 32 years, Frederic C. Smith; a daughter, Katherine A. Smeal of Clearfield; a son, Brian A. of Malvern; three sisters, Betty Wagner and Sue Swenson, both of New Bloomfield, and Donna Wagenseller of York Haven; a brother, Dale Adams of Newport; and a granddaughter, Samantha M. Smeal.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., March 2 in her church with the Revs. Frederick A. Foltz and E. Edward Keyser officiating. Inurnment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann Adams.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., March 2 in the church.

ROBERT E. BEERS
He was born Sept. 3, 1945 in Millerstown to the late George N. and Mary (Myers) Beers.
He had worked for AMF in York and was a truck driver for mail delivery.
Surviving are his wife, Carrie Holley Beers; three daughters, Becky Burkepile of Texas, Lisa Rauch of Newport and Tammy Hagan of Indiana; five stepchildren; a brother, George of Duncannon; a sister, Frances Heffley of Duncannon; four grandchildren; and several stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service was held July 24 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport.
Memorial contributions may be made to any local ambulance league.
WILLIAM R. ENGLE SR.
He was retired as produce manager from Karns Foods, Lemoyne, and formerly employed as operations manager for Hall’s Motor Freight, Mechanicsburg; a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Marysville, and Roads End Lodge Hunting Camp, Blain; and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and NASCAR racing.
Surviving are his wife, Bonita L. Eckels Engle; two sons, William R. Jr. of New Cumberland and Randy A. of Shermans Dale; three daughters, Beverly J. Kibe of Bridgeport, Michelle V. Hall of Marysville and Amy C. Simmons of Landisburg; a brother, Joseph of Camp Hill; a sister, Thelma Shuler of Shiremanstown; and 15 grandchildren.
Burial was in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
