She was born Oct. 22, 1924 at Loysville RR 1 to the late Edgar P. and Terry (Liddick) Kiner.
She was retired from Kinney Shoe Factory, Carlisle; and a member of Landisburg Fire Company, Shermans Dale Ambulance Club, Williams Grove Steam Engine Association, Perry County Fire Police Association and Sherman’s Valley Heritage Days.
She was the widow of Elmer L. Turnbaugh Sr. and Donald Rudy.
Surviving are a son, Elmer L. Turnbaugh Jr. of Shermans Dale; four brothers, Harold Kiner and Vern Kiner, both of Shermans Dale, Paul Kiner of Carlisle and John Groff of Enola; a sister, Joyce Maneal of Harrisburg; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolly I. Minium.
Services were held Nov. 7 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. N. Jefferson Brewster officiating. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

LILLIAN M. BENTSEL
She was born Aug. 5, 1915 in Shermans Dale to the late Amos and Jenny (Stimeling) Sheaffer.
She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Rye Twp., and the Ladies Group of Sheaffer’s Valley Church of God, and enjoyed reading and gardening.
She was the widow of John A. Bentsel, who died in 1988.
Surviving are a son, William H. of Shermans Dale; two daughters, Grace Bentsel-Simmons of Enola and Ivetta “Bunny” Morrison of Shermans Dale; six brothers, Elmer Knaub of Duncannon, John Knaub of Mechanicsburg, William Knaub of Nevada, Donald Knaub of Texas, and Dale and Jack Knaub, both of Marysville; three sisters, Ethel Cronister of Shiremanstown, Pearl Good of Marysville and Jenny Feltman of Camp Hill; 22 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 19 in her church with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Burial was be in Grier’s Point Cemetery.

SAMUEL M. RICE
He was born June 20, 1915 in Landisburg to the late Irvin and Minnie (Welch-Morrow) Rice.
He and his wife, Alice, owned and operated Rice Memorial Works in New Bloomfield for 50 years.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served as a councilman, New Bloomfield Lions Club, New Bloomfield Fire Company; past president of New Bloomfield Water Authority; former director of both the Keystone Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Landisburg Cemetery Association; active in community events; and an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener.
Surviving are his wife, Alice Stambaugh Rice; two sons, Dr. Samuel A. of Lancaster and Dr. Matthew M. of Gig Harbor, Wash.; a twin brother, Robert A. of Lancaster, and a brother, Richard I. of Seaford, Del.; and two grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Nov. 15 in the Mennonite Home.
Services were held Nov. 16 in his church. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.

MARY P. VANHORN
She was born May 20, 1925 in Liverpool Twp. to the late Maynard and Charlotte (Willi) Noll.
She retired in 1986 after 17 1/2 years as a clerk with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Harrisburg, and had worked at the former Zimmies Restaurant, Mifflintown, Peppermill Inn, Reedsville, and managed the Thompsontown Hotel Restaurant and most recently Stop 35, Mifflintown; attended Liverpool High School; a member of East Salem United Methodist Church and Women of the Moose 925, Millerstown; and enjoyed playing bingo, watching game shows and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Steven M. of Mifflin HCR; a daughter, Glenda J. Auker of Dauphin; a brother, John Noll of Newport RR 1; three sisters, Ardella Rumberger of Millerstown, Dorothy Klimenko of Glenn Dale, Md., and Caroline Piper of Liverpool; a grandson, Brian Price; three stepgrandchildren, Tammy Zarkovich, Shawn O’Neill and Kathleen Mitten; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and two generations of nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 18 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Dr. Ronald Parks officiating. Burial was in Liverpool Union Cemetery.

HARRY W. WRIGHT
He was born Feb. 7, 1913 to the late William and Ora (Finkenbinder) Wright.
He was retired from Triangle Pacific Corp.; attended the former Duncannon High School; an Army veteran of World War II; a member of Central Baptist Church, Millerstown, Millerstown VFW Post 5049, Millerstown Ambulance League and Millerstown Fire Company; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was the widower of Beatrice Shiffer Wright.
Surviving are a son, Barry of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Rhetta Wright of Mifflintown; a brother, Charles of Duncannon; two sisters, Alverta Dorman of Marysville and Mae Carvell of Denver, Pa.; and a grandson, Daniel Wright.
Services were held Nov. 15 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with pastor Robert Meyer officiating. Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463, was in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.

DAVID C. MCNAUGHTON JR.
He was born May 1, 1947 in Harrisburg to the late David C. Sr. and June (Cain) McNaughton.
He was employed by Yellow Cab.
Surviving are four brothers, G. Patrick Sr. of Newville, Ronald E. Sr. of Dover, Michael J. of New Cumberland and Randy J. of Shippensburg.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Douglas P. Sr.
A memorial service was held Nov. 15 in First Church of the Nazarene, New Cumberland, with pastor Don Spangler officiating.

EARL W. ROUSH
He was born Dec. 23, 1921 in Miller Twp. to the late Elmer and Carrie (Murphy) Roush.
He was retired from Super Rite Foods, Harrisburg; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Newport American Legion.
Surviving are his children, Walter G. Bender Jr. of Carlisle, Steven E. Roush of Duncannon, Terry L. Smith of Carlisle, Paul A. Roush of Carlisle, Sonja T. Meacham of Norristown and Paris A. Roush of Duncannon; three brothers, James of Elizabethtown and the Rev. Harry and Howard Roush, both of Duncannon; five sisters, Catherine Warick of Dillsburg, Dorothy Garlin of Newport, Betty Bonchalk of Duncannon, Lucina Campbell of Loysville and Ruby Shumaker of New Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 18 in First United Church of Christ, Carlisle, with pastor Wanda Veldman officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

WILLIAM C.A. REED JR.
He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and farming, and attended Roseglen Brethren in Christ Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Reed; a nephew he raised, Roger D. Graham of Duncannon; four stepchildren, Ray H. Latchford of Palmyra, Edna Whitmer of New Cumberland, Kenneth W. Latchford of Newport and Mildred Krout of New Cumberland; four sisters, Bertha Barrick and Alma Finkenbinder, both of Duncannon, Hester Sheaffer of Mt. Pleasant Mills and Erma Knuth of Duncannon RR 4; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 15 in Roseglen Brethren in Christ Church with the Rev. William Baublitz officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.

VERA L. SKOGSBERG
She was born in Perry County to the late Charles and Alice (Ferguson) Sheaffer.
She was a graduate of New Bloomfield High School and Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing.
In 1942 she joined the Army Nurse Corps and was assigned to the 93rd Army Evacuation Hospital. She served in North Africa, Italy at Salerno and Anzio, where she was awarded the Bronze Star.
Surviving are her husband, Paul; three sons, Richard of Vermont, Eric of Winter Park and John of Missouri; three sisters, Jeanne Blessing of Falls Church, Va., and Julia Smeltzer and Mildred Boeshore, both of Camp Hill; and 10 grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 12 in Winter Park.
GEORGE W. BARNS
He was born Oct. 15, 1924 at Millerstown RR 1 to the late George L. and Alma I. (Wallett) Barns.
He was a retired dairy farmer and then was employed at the Loysville Youth Development Center; attended Thompson Institute, Harrisburg; an Army veteran of World War II in the 104th Timberwolf Division, receiving the Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Service Medal, EAME Theater Service Medal with two bronze stars and a Victory Medal; a member of Zion United Church of Christ and its choir, Blain, and Ickesburg Sportsmen’s Club, and formerly a member of Blain Sportsmen’s Club, Blain Fire Company and Blain Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, I. Geraldine “Gerry” Kerstetter Barns; a son, Barry G. Sr. of Loysville; three daughters, Sharon I. Magaro of Halifax, Karon L. Beaston of Shermans Dale and Susan M. Stum of Landisburg; and seven grandchildren, BJ and Ryann Barns, Michael Magaro, Jordan Beaston and Cody, Whitney and Morgan Stum.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, J. Lynn Barns and Charles E. Barnes.
Services were held Nov. 21 in his church with the Rev. E. Levain Fouse officiating. Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463, was in Buffalo Cemetery, Ickesburg RR 1.

MARGARET A. BRICKER
She was a former supervisor at Goodwill Industries, Harrisburg, and worked at Green Thumb; and a member of Full Gospel Church of God, Camp Hill.
She was the widow of Roy A. Bricker Jr.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Ohlson of Middletown. Dorie D. Siegfried of Duncannon and Bea Heckard of Marysville; three sons, Ronald L. and Rodney A., both of Harrisburg, and Robert R. of Fallow, Nev.; two sisters, Florence J.M. Fasick of Newport and Beatrice Sinniger of Harrisburg; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Roy A. II.
Services were held Nov. 26 in Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
R. CREE FOLTZ
He was born Sept. 30, 1911 at Landisburg to the late Robert C. and Annie (Swisher) Foltz.
He retired from Exxon Corporation after 22 years of service, and had owned and operated an automobile service center in Landisburg for 23 years; a 1929 graduate of the former Landisburg High School and graduate from Beckley College in Harrisburg with a degree in aeronautical engineering; a member of First Church of God, Carlisle; the first past president of Landisburg Lions Club and a former member of Odd Fellows Lodge, Landisburg, and past member of Carlisle Fish and Game Association.
He was the widower of Sophia C. Guyler Foltz, who died in 1977.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Anna C. Bishop Foltz; a son, Robert C. Jr. of Carlisle; a sister, Cecile Underwood of Harrisburg; three stepsons, James P. Landis of Whitefish, Mont., Robert L. Landis of Mt. Holly Springs and Raymond L. Landis of Summers, Mont.; three grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
Services were held Nov. 27 in his church with the Rev. D. Alan Mathna officiating. Burial was in Landisburg Cemetery.
