She was born March 18, 1933 at Newport to the late Raymond and Gladys Fry.
She was a supporter of Pine Grove Church of God, Newport and enjoyed sewing and cooking for her family on holidays and was the adopted mother of many homeless cats.
She was the widow of Melvin E. Baker, to whom she was married 45 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Darlene G. Barrick of Duncannon and Yvonne D. Burch of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Virginia Freeland of Duncannon; three grandchildren, Lorie Legge, Brian Barrick and Douglas Barrick; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Bohr, and a great-grandson, Troy Alexander Legge.
Services were held June 4 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Michael Witmer officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
ALTON L. COMP
He was born May 29, 1913 in Port Royal to the late William and Nora (Leonard) Comp.
He established in 1939 Comp’s Barber Shop in Newport, from which he retired, and also was the former representative for State Capital Savings and Loan and a former sergeant-of-arms for the Pennsylvania State Senate; a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport, where he was a former elder and deacon, Newport Borough Council, having served as president, Newport Sewer and Water Authority, Social Order of Owls, Perry County Shrine Club, Newport Lodge 381, F&AM, Royal Arch Chapter 238 and a Perry County Republican Party committeeman.
He was the widower of Josephine F. Comp.
Surviving are a son, Larry A. Comp of New Bloomfield; a daughter, Diane L. Black of Camp Hill; a sister, Imogene Goodling of Juniata County; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Benner and Alma Ulsh.
Services were held June 1 in his church with the Rev. Edward Baugh officiating. Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield and Newport VFWs, was in Newport Cemetery.

KEVIN E. EWING
He was a graduate of Susquenita High School, Duncannon, and served in the Army National Guard.
Surviving are Salli A. Ewing, Harrisburg; two daughters, Susie R. Ewing and Emily D. Ewing, both of Harrisburg; his mother and stepfather, Nina Lee and Roy C. Shatto of Duncannon; three sisters, Kim Howerton of Tell City, Ind., Shannon S. Ford of Harrisburg and Laura J. Shatto of Duncannon; two brothers, John Ewing of Derby, Ind., and Andrew R. Shatto of Duncannon; and his stepmother, Marilyn Ewing of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Ewing.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.
BONNIE L. CLEGG
She was born Nov. 14, 1951 in Harrisburg to Gladys Barninger Lukens of Duncannon and the late Roy P. Hilbish Jr.
She was employed for 22 years at American Can Co., Lemoyne, and later employed by Chromalloy and Holy Spirit Hospital, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
In addition to her mother, surviving are two sisters, Susan M. Mikos of Duncannon RR 4 and Patricia L. Wise, with whom she lived; and five brothers, Brian L. Hilbish of Duncannon, Gary Lukens and Leonard Lukens, both of Duncannon RR 4, Kenneth Lukens of North Carolina and Joseph Lukens of Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Laura A. Hilbish.
Services were held June 3 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Thomas E. Graham officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.
RAY F. CREE SR.
He was a part-time employee of Cree’s Welding and Fabrication, and a Marine veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Alice Cree; two sons, Ray Franklin Cree Jr. of Dauphin and Gary Stouffer of Newport; four daughters, Pamela Keim of Enola, Susan Stoneroad of Newport, N.C., Kellie Peterson of Enhaut and Donna Crist of Halifax; two sisters, Shirley Smith and Jean Perry of California; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held May 27 in Calvary Independent Church, Harrisburg. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.
LENA HORBACH
She was born March 31, 1924 in Bronx, N.Y., to the late Anthony and Victoria Donghia.
She was a homemaker and loved painting, gardening and music.
She was the widow of George Horbach.
Surviving are a son, George of Saddlebrook, N.J.; three daughters, Carole Cahill of Elliottsburg, Toni Horbach of New Rochelle, N.Y., and Florence Madonia of Warwick, N.Y.; a brother, John Donghia of Middletown, N.Y.; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Steven.
A memorial service was held May 31 in the chapel of Perry Village.
Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled arrangements.

BANNIE H. SUTPHIN
She was born Dec. 17, 1914 in Jonesville, Va., to the late Bedford and Lucy (Wolfensbarger) Pendleton.
She was the widow of Claude A. Sutphin of Mentor, Ohio.
Surviving are a son, Gary L. Sutphin of New Bloomfield; three sisters, Estelle Shaw and Virginia Hines and Maurice Pendleton; two brothers William and Charles Pendleton; and a grandson, Robert D. Sutphin of Ft. Collins, Colo.
Burial was in Mentor, Ohio.
Arrangements were handled by the Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the local Humane Society.
DONALD R. CLOUSER
He retired as a carpenter for the federal government; a Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Duncannon Church of God, American Legion Post 340 and Duncannon High School Alumni Association.
He was the widower of Reba Sheibley Clouser.
Surviving are a son, Donald Jr., a daughter, Donna Clouser, a granddaughter, Margo Webb, and two great-grandsons, Julian and Jadon Webb, all of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, John of Duncannon; two sisters, Eleanor Curits and Arlene Snyder, both of New Bloomfield; and a companion, Mary Auxt of Duncannon.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 7, in his church, 2 Muhlenberg Ave., Duncannon.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.

GEORGE A. DIETZ JR.
He was born Dec. 23, 1926 in Newport to the late George A. and Frances May (Christ) Dietz.
He was retired from Conrail and the former PRR; an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict; and a member of Newport VFW Post 34, Duncannon American Legion Post 340, Cooties in Upper Allen Twp., a life member of the Social Order of Owls, Newport, and 2nd Division Infantry Association.
Surviving are a companion, Sarah Jane Kurtz; four sons, George A. Dietz III and Leland L. Dietz, both of Newport, Carl L. Dietz of East Waterford, and George Seidel of Duncannon; a daughter, Debra Walker of Blossom, Texas; a stepdaughter, Linda Barlup of Newport; a stepson, James Freeland of Carlisle; a sister, Anna Snyder of Newport; 20 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Dietz; a sister, Elvena Baker; and two sons, Richard Dietz and Kenneth E. Seidel.
Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

RICHARD L. HUMES
He was born Feb. 24, 1931 in Carlisle to the late Samuel and Emma Mae (Warner) Humes.
He attended IMPACT Systems, Inc., Harrisburg.
He was the last member of his family.
Services were held May 30 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Dale Rosenberger officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.

JEAN H. NOOKER
She was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Lewistown to the late Daniel and Ester Hinebaugh. During her teenage years, she was raised in Newport by her grandparents, J.P. and Ada Wertz.
She graduated from high school in 1937 and attended the School of Nursing, Jefferson Medical College, at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She then served on the staff of Jefferson Hospital.
She joined as a commissioned officer the 38th General Hospital, Army Nurse Corps, a unit formed from Jefferson Hospital staff in 1942. She served overseas in Egypt from May 1942 to September 1945 as a surgical RN, treating soldiers and other military personnel involved in the North Africa and China/Burma campaigns and the Romanian oil field bombing flights.
She worked for Jefferson Hospital and later Detroit Children’s Hospital after returning to the states. She attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, majoring in public health. She served on the staff of the Maryland Public Health Department. Since 1968, She and her family lived in Arroyo Grande, where she worked for Arroyo Grande Hospital.
She was an accomplished seamstress and musician, having served as the organist at her home church in Newport and played piano throughout her life. She also especially enjoyed animals and pets - English bulldogs, horses, a donkey, cats, birds and local wildlife.
Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Eugene L. Nooker; a daughter, Karen Woodall of Seattle, Wash.; a sister, Elizabeth Vacca of Harrisburg; an uncle, Frederick Wertz, retired Methodist bishop of Carlisle; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Hinebaugh of Hilton Head Island, S.C.; and nieces and nephews, including Anne Hartzell and Mary Lou Orthey of Newport.
A memorial service was held at her home.
Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, Grover Beach, handled arrangements.

THEODORE SCOTT SR.
He was born Aug. 24, 1921 in Harrisburg to the late Julius and Hettie (Hatfield) Scott.
He was retired from Kraft Foods, and served in the Merchant Marine during World War II.
He was the widower of Eva Morrison Scott.
Surviving are five children, Keith A. Scott of New Cumberland, Jack H. Scott of Lewisberry, Sharon H. Purdew of Anaheim, Calif., and Theodore Scott Jr. and Ricky L. Scott, both of Duncannon; five sisters, Patricia Snyder of Enola, Rebecca Marsh, Phyllis King and Masalda Hubley, all of Harrisburg, and Anita Mitchell of Stewartstown; a brother, Richard of Harrisburg; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held May 29 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.
