He was born July 30, 1942 in Cumberland County to Charles F. Sanno Sr. of Shermans Dale and the late Myra (Hurley) Sanno.
He was employed by and a shareholder of Electricom Inc., Paoli, Ind.; an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; a member of New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463 and Newport American Legion Post 177; and an avid NASCAR and Penn State fan and enjoyed golfing.
In addition to his father, surviving are his wife of 17 years, Shirley K. Sanno; a son, Charles F. III of Bath; a daughter, Lori Moyer of Wind Gap; a stepson, Arlyn James of Ickesburg; three brothers, Larry of New Bloomfield and Richard and Darwyn, both of Shermans Dale; six sisters, Beverly Zeigler, Audrey Gingrich, Darlene Saylor, Jeannie Zellers and Nancy Sanno, all of Shermans Dale, and Wendy Bailor of East Waterford; and three grandsons, Jordan and Logan Moyer and Nathan Sanno.
Services were held March 27 in Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, Shermans Dale, with the Rev. Joseph Kugle officiating. Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW and Newport American Legion, was in the church Cemetery.

ARLENE WALLACE SHAW
She was born in Perry County.
She was a teacher in Philadelphia; a graduate of Shippensburg State College; and a member of Huguenot Yacht Club, New York Athletic Club and the Manor Club of Pelham Manor.
She also was a member of Huguenot Memorial Church, where she was a deacon, an elder and held various leadership roles including co-chairing the “Midnight Run” and being active on the Mission Committee. In 1997 she was honored by 5,000 women from 47 countries at the International Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women for her work in advancing the causes of Presbyterian women and missions. She also was active with interfaith groups in the community.
Surviving are two children, Wallace James Shaw of Connecticut and Karen Shaw Segel of California, and a grandson, Scott Segel.
Services were held March 27 in her church. Burial was in Connecticut.
Pelham Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church’s “Midnight Run” and the Mission Committee.
LESTER H. SWEIGART
He was born Oct. 8, 1934 in Harrisburg to the late Harvey E. and Mary N. (Hoffman) Sweigart.
He retired from General Electric Company in Lexington, Ky.; an Air Force veteran of the Korean War; and a member of First Baptist Church of Clearfield.
He was the widower of Hazel J. Hubler Sweigart, who died Oct. 20, 2003.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Nancy Sloppy of Clearfield; a stepson, Greg Holt of Pittston; four brothers, Harvey Jr. and George, both of Millerstown, Robert of Richfield and Charles of Liverpool; five sisters, Beatrice Sweigart and Romaine Klinger, both of Liverpool, Ruth Miller and Shirley Goodling, both of Millerstown, and Geraldine Matichkitis of Laurel; eight stepgrandchildren; and many stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Frankie; a sister, Emma Boydner; and an infant sister.
Services were held March 24 in Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Clearfield, with pastor Daniel M. Osterhout officiating. Burial was in Crown Crest Memorial Park.
JESSIE SPASEFF-HERMAN
She was born Nov. 23, 1915 in Academia to the late James and Leota (Long) Reisinger.
She was retired from Lincoln Life Insurance Co.; a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, Fourth Street, Harrisburg; attended Newport Assembly of God; selected to attend the Governor’s School, also known as the Keystone School which was established by Gov. Gifford Pinchot, for outstanding students; and enjoyed dogs, birds, painting, hiking and reading.
She was the widow of Alex Spaseff and Rev. William Herman.
Surviving are two nieces, Jessie Goodling and Kathy Reisinger of Millerstown; six nephews, James E. Reisinger Jr. of Oregon, Richard L. Reisinger of Middletown, Robert V. Reisinger of Millerstown, Don-ald C. Reisinger of New Bloomfield, Harold of Ulysses and Michael W. Reisinger of Goldsboro; 23 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services were held March 26 in Newport Assembly of God 253 with the Rev. William Walborn officiating. Burial was in East Harrisburg Cemetery.

RAY RICHARD BOLTON JR.
He was born April 28, 1934 in Harrisburg to the late R. Richard “Bus” Sr. and Leona K. (Eshenower) Bolton.
Surviving are brothers, Ronald L. of Kinkora Pythian Home and Kenneth L. of Millerstown; a paternal aunt, Eleanora Feiman of Harrisburg; nieces, Lori K. Comp of Millerstown and Kristene L. Dormuth of Etters; two great-nieces, Bethany Comp and Marah Dormuth; and a great-nephew, Trent Dormuth.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 1, at Presbyterian Church of Perry Valley, Old Ferry Road, Millerstown.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, is handling arrangements.

ERNEST B. JONES
He was a retired auto mechanic and also worked as a farmhand; a canteen member of the VFW and American Legion, both of Duncannon, and the West Fairview American Legion; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandy Smith of Duncannon; two granddaughters, Melissa (Rodgers) Armer of Lititz and Jenna Smith of Duncannon; a great-grandson, Logan Armer; and a brother, John Bordner, and a niece, Chelsea Bordner, both of Dillsburg.

JEAN E. MCALLISTER
She was the retired owner of the former Blue Max Restaurant and Bar, Marysville.
She was the widow of Max E. McAllister Sr.
Surviving are her children, Linda Swindle of Tampa, Fla., Max McAllister of Mechanicsburg and Stacey Sadock of Hummelstown; two brothers, John McConnell of West Fairview and Jay McConnell Jr. of Enola; a sister, Katherine Eppley of Carlisle; and six grandchildren.

PAUL E. STRAUCH
He was born Oct. 28, 1915, in Cressona, Pa., to the late Lambert and Jennie Strauch.
He graduated from Cressona High School and Catawba College in Salisbury, N.C. In 1941, he graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary and was ordained into the ministry of the Evangelical and Reformed Church.
On July 13, 1941 he married Melva Kathryn Peifly, his college classmate, in Neffs, Pa., and they made their home in Freemansburg, where he served his first parish. Over the next two decades he ministered to the Evangelical and Reformed congregations of Grace Church in Buffalo, N.Y., and First Church in Takoma Park, Md. In 1958 he joined the national staff of the Evangelical and Reformed Church, leading the Commission on Stewardship as the executive secretary. With the establishment of the United Church of Christ in 1962, he became the Secretary for Christian Education. In 1968 he was called to be pastor of Faith United Church of Christ in New Cumberland, and in 1974 served the First Congregational Church in Danbury, Conn. With his wife’s support, he provided leadership in many capacities in their communities.
He was active in education serving on the board of Lancaster Theological Seminary, in urban renewal and housing with Friends Cooperative Housing in Philadelphia and Habitat for Humanity, and in the arts with Perry County Council of the Arts. He pursued many hobbies and interests including gardening, chess, golf, international travel, carpentry, theater, reading, music and playing the cello.
He and his wife retired to Markelsville and were members of St. John’s United Church of Christ. In 2000, they became residents of Uplands Retirement Village in Tennessee. Mrs. Strauch died in 2003.
The couple raised four sons: John of San Diego, Calif., Joel of Larchmont, N.Y., Timothy of Watertown, Wisc., and Thomas of Salem, Ore. Also surviving are daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren.

PEGGIE FEDDER
She was born May 7, 1938 in Delaware County to Elizabeth Schievert Wetherill and the late Lawrence Wetherill.
She was a bookkeeper for Putnam and Hancock and a member of Elk Valley Church of Christ.
In addition to her mother, surviving are her husband, Ronald Fedder, formerly of Marysville; a daughter, Anita Crowson of Madison, Ala.; two sisters, Cathy Smith of Lenni and Joan Martin of Glen Riddle; a brother, Larry Wetherill of New York; and three grandsons.
A graveside service was held April 27 in Grier’s Point Cemetery, Rye Twp., with the Rev. Harold Baylord officiating.

HOWARD T. KOSER
He was born Dec. 6, 1925 in Mechanicsburg to the late Alfred E. “Hap” and Mabel May (Vogelsong) Koser.
He retired from the former Mechanicsburg Ships Parts Control Center; was a graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology Management School; and served in the 4th Marine Division in the battles of Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima.
He was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg, where he was past president of the church council, former trustee and deacon and on the finance and building committees; National Association of Retired Employees, Chapter 1816; Cumberland County Historical Society; The Perry Historians; Second Amendment Foundation; Lutheran Laymen’s League; U.S. Navy Memorial Association; Seniors Coalition; Blain and Ickesburg sportsmen’s clubs; Marine Corps Association; Patrick William Milano and Juniata detachments of the Marine Corps League; charter and life member of VFW Post 6704, MBG; American Legion Post 109; life member of DAV and 4th Marine Division Association; Mechanicsburg Club; Madison Grange 2064; Iwo Jima Survivors Association; and Mechanicsburg High School Alumni Association.
He was the widower of Betty Jane Hilgenkamp Koser.
Surviving are a son, Jeffrey E. of Harrisburg; a daughter, Kathy E. Getty of Dillsburg; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melanie, and a grandson, John.
Services were held April 23 in his church with the Rev. Robert J. Nemoyer and the Rev. Dr. Thomas Kraus officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.

G. PATRICK MCNAUGHTON SR.
He was born Dec. 26, 1948 in Duncannon to the late David C. Sr. and June (Cain) McNaughton.
He was a member of Allegheny Rockets Oldsmobile Club and the Blue Gray Chapter of the O.C.A.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Von Wittenburg McNaughton; a daughter, Kelly McNaughton of Carlisle; two sons, Russell Clavey and G. Patrick Jr., both of Newville; three brothers, Ronald E. of Dover, Michael J. of New Cumberland and Randy J. of Chambersburg; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, David C. Jr. and Douglas R. Sr.
A graveside service was held April 22 in Cumberland Valley Memorial Park, Carlisle, with the Rev. Dawn Spangler officiating.
