Ervin H. Barlup, 90, of Montebello Road, Duncannon, died Sunday, May 24, 1998 at home.
He was born Nov. 28, 1907 in York County to the late H.H. and Flora (Powers) Barlup.
He was retired from the Newport office of PP&L. Surviving are his wife, Vivian Laubach Barlup; a daughter, Betty V. Filson of Duncannon; a son, Donald E. of Harrisburg; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Graveside services were held in Union Cemetery with the Rev. Dorothy Mitchell officiating.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.

Phyllis I. Barrett, 48, of Montebello Road, Duncannon, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 1998 at home.
She was a state employee.
Services were held Tuesday in Richardson Funeral Home, Enola. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Lower Allen Twp.

Hattie L. Barrick, 65, of Newport RR 1 died Wednesday, Oct. 7, 1998 at home.
She was born June 28, 1933 in Watts Twp. to the late William F. and Nettie (Lowe) Peters.
She retired as a cook from the Ranch House Restaurant, Duncannon.
Surviving are her husband, Charles E. Barrick; a son, Lon L. of Newport RR 1; five daughters, Lana S. Bruce of Duncannon RR 4, Cindy A. and Kathy E. Smith and Judy A. Watterson, all of Newport RR 1, and Rebecca M. Black of Harrisburg; two brothers, Lee F. Peters of Newport RR 1 and Ian R. Peters of Duncannon RR 4; two sisters, Bertha Yasson of Hershey and Sylvia Fausnacht of Palmyra; and 11 grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Oct. 9 in Hill Church Cemetery, Duncannon, with the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

Dr. Blaine F. "Doctor B" Bartho, 92, of Landisburg RR 1, died Wednesday, June 3, 1998 at home.
He was born July 25, 1905 in Mt. Carmel to the late William H. and Ida M. (Metz) Bartho.
He was a medical doctor, retired from the Perry Health Center, Loysville, formerly practiced in Newport and Landisburg, and also was retired president of the Bank of Newport.
He was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School; Jefferson College and Johns Hopkins University.
He was a member of the Perry, Pennsylvania and American medical societies, Landisburg Fire Company, Landisburg Ambulance Club, Mount Zion Lutheran Church, Landisburg RR 1, and F&AM Lodge 378, Mount Carmel.
Surviving are his wife, M. Maxine Sweger Bartho; three daughters, Deborah K. Alleman, Donna K. Bartho and Diane K. Reisinger, and a son, William H., all of Landisburg; and five grandchildren.
Services were held June 7 in his church with the Rev. William Butts officiating. Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

Brady Earl "Butch" Baughman Sr., 57, of Moyer Lane, Shermans Dale, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998 at home.
He was born Dec. 3, 1940 at Newville RR 2 to the late Brady I. and Mary S. (Smith) Baughman.
He was an employee of ABF Trucking, Carlisle; a former employee for 20 years of Jones Motor Freight, Shiremanstown; and a member of Carlisle Eagles Aerie 1299, Shermans Dale Fire Company, Shermans Dale Ambulance Club and the White Rock Hunting Club.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Haught Baughman; three sons, Brady E. Jr. of Middletown, Carl F. Sr. of Landisburg and Robert J. of Shermans Dale; a daughter, Rebecca J. Barclay of Carlisle; five brothers, Sam, Dale and Donald, all of New Bloomfield, George of Landisburg and Ray of Shermans Dale; three sisters, Ruby Bower of Philadelphia, and Ann Bird and Mary Jane Kitner, both of New Bloomfield; and six grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 17 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Michael A. Witmer officiating. Burial was in Landisburg Cemetery.

James R. Baughman, 67, of Baltimore Pike, Gardners, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998 at Carlisle Hospital.
He was born in Landisburg to the late Oscar D. and Stella Mae (Weller) Baughman.
He was retired from the former Ralston Purina Co., Mechanicsburg, and a former employee of Quaker Oats Co., Shiremanstown; a Navy veteran of the Korean War; and a member of American Legion 674, VFW 7343, Eagles 1299 and Moose 842.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Brandt; three stepsons, Dennis Brandt of Biglerville, Timothy Brandt of Gardners and Jeffrey Brandt of Newville; two stepdaughters, Debra Eckart of Newville and Michelle Gelsinger of Mt. Holly Springs; two sisters, Anna Rohm of Carlisle and Gertrude Lash of Holiday, Fla.; his stepfather, Harold Miller of Landisburg; two stepbrothers, William and Donnie Miller of Landisburg; and five step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Miller.
Services were held Feb. 15 in Gibson Hollinger Funeral Home, Mt. Holly Springs, with the Rev. Donald E. Van Kirk officiating. Burial was in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.

George Alfred Beaver, 88, of the Camp Hill Care Center, East Pennsboro Twp., formerly of Muncy, died Friday, Nov. 6, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital.
He retired as a locomotive engineer from the Steelton-Highspire Railroad and was a former self-employed paper-hanger and painter; a truck-patch farmer and avid hunter; and a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Watsontown RR 1.
Surviving are his wife, Thursha "Shorty" Albertson Beaver; two daughters, Nancy Keele of Haskill, Okla., and Sharon E. Beaver of Harrisburg; two sons, Norman A. of Marysville and Raymond L. of Enola; two sisters, Elizabeth Garrett of Oval and Goldie Snyder of Watsontown; a brother, Herbert L. of Muncy RR; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 10 in Cronrath Funeral Home, Watsontown. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Nancy Beachey, 57, of New Bloomfield RR 3 died Sunday, Nov. 1, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born Jan. 23, 1941 at Abington to the late Francis R. and M. Josephine (Marlin) Ewer.
She had been a receptionist at the former office of Dr. Barry Millis, Loysville; worked for Perry Human Services; a former board member of the Tri-County Mental Health Association; attended Brethren in Christ Church, Harrisburg; formerly a member of Trinity Community Fellowship Church, Elliottsburg; a 1958 graduate of Central Bucks High School, Doylestown; a 1962 graduate of Shelton College, Ringwood, N.J.; and sang with the Good News Singers.
Surviving is her husband, the Rev Philip S. Beachey; two sons, David J. Keller of Loysville and Mario A. Billow of Wormleysburg; and a brother, Robert J. Ewer of Hazelton.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Church of the Living Christ, Loysville RR l, with pastor Lou Astuto and the Rev. Glenn "Woody" Dalton Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemetery, Loysville. Viewing will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, and noon to 2 p.m., Saturday in the church.
