Benjamin Brodeck Bower, 98, formerly of Blain RR 1, died Monday, July 6, 1998 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
He was born Jan. 2, 1900 to the late Clark M. and Annie (Bistline) Bower.
He was a former teacher in country schools and with West Perry School District; retired from Loysville Youth Development Center; was a farmer; and a member of Zion Lutheran Church, various baseball organizations and the Lions Club, all of Blain, and Adams Lodge 319, New Bloomfield.
He was the widower of Carolyn (Averill) Bower.
Surviving are three sons, Dale L. of Mechanicsburg, and Claude A. and Alan M., both of Blain RR 1; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 12 in his church with the Rev. Kathleen Coleman officiating. Burial was in Blain Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

Del Rice Bowers, 79, of Landisburg died Thursday, Jan. 22, 1998 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
He was born Aug. 25, 1918 at Harrisburg to the late David L. and Margaret (Rice) Bowers.
He retired from Gordon & Sons Painting Contractors, Harrisburg; was listed in "Who's Who"; was an Army veteran of World War II; an alumnus of Tressler Lutheran Orphanage, Loysville; and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Landisburg, the Landisburg Lions Club, Fire Company and Ambulance Club, VFW Post 9118, and the New Bloomfield Odd Fellows lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline Barlett Bowers; two sons, David L. of Loysville and Daniel L. of Carlisle; three daughters, Phyllis P. Laweckie of Lockport, N.Y., Paulette C. Krewson of New Kingstown and Phoebe M. Weldon of New Bloomfield; a brother, Lee R. of Ridley Park; a sister, Rose Marie Sheehan of Middletown; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Simon of Baltimore, Md. Memorial services were held Jan. 27 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. E. Levain Fouse officiating.

David L. Bowman, 17, of W. Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998 in Hershey Medical Center as the result of a bicycle accident.
He was born Dec. 28, 1980 in Alexandria, Va.
He was a senior at Cumberland Valley High School, where he was a member of the choir; an employee of Karns market in Mechanicsburg; and a "Star Trek" enthusiast and music lover.
Surviving are his parents, Mark L. Bowman and Rita Byers Noll, with whom he lived; a sister, Nicole R. at home; his maternal grandparents, Glenn E. and Susan I. Byers of Millerstown; and his paternal grandmother, Carlyn L. Jones of New Cumberland.
Services were held Nov. 7 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Darvin Reich officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown.
Harry A. Boyer, 82, of N. Lincoln Street, Duncannon, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Jan. 19, 1916 in Harrisburg to the late John B. and Odessa M. (Reedy) Boyer.
He was a retired employee of Forrer's Garage, Duncannon, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Duncannon, where he was a former council president and taught Sunday school for 40 years. He organized Duncannon's first Cub Scout troop and served as Cubmaster for 20 years, and was Duncannon's first Eagle Scout. He was coordinator for Meals on Wheels for 15 years, and was a member of Duncannon Golden Age Club and Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Reese Boyer; two sons, Harry R. of Newport RR 2 and Douglas T. of New Bloomfield; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lynn Boyer.
Services were held Feb. 7 in his church with the Rev. Irene Friberg-Dussaq officiating and assisted by the Rev. Gary Bellis. Burial was in Duncannon (Presbyterian) Cemetery.

Harry F. Boyer, 77, of Loysville RR 2, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1998 at home.
He was born Nov. 8, 1920 in Spring Twp. to the late Charles W. and Anna Mary (Foulk) Boyer.
He was retired from H. R. Wentzel & Sons, Newport and Landisburg and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Tressler Memorial Lutheran Church, Loysville; Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association, Blain Fire Company and Ambulance Club and AARP.
Surviving are his wife of more than 58 years, M. Louise Bousum Boyer; a daughter, G. Louise Peck of Loysville RR 2; a sister, Reba J. Alandar of Duncannon; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 12 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Kathleen G. Coleman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Landisburg RR 1.
A viewing will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Marguerite S. Keller Boyer, 89, of Redwood Drive, Carlisle, formerly of Marysville, died Friday, March 13, 1998 in Carlisle Hospital.
She had taught piano and organ lessons in Marysville for many years; and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville, where she played the organ and piano, and Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel C. Boyer; a daughter, Gayle K. Rebuck of Mechanicsburg; a brother, C. Lee Snyder of Marysville; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 17 in her church. Burial was in Perry Heights Cemetery, Marysville.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

Randy L. Boyer, 45, of Kings Highway, Marysville, died Tuesday, Aug. 18, 1998 in West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Twp., Cumberland County.
He worked for Rosewein Corp. and was a member of West Fairview American Legion and Marysville VFW.
Surviving are a daughter, Leanne R. Reigle of Enola; his father, Donald L. Boyer Sr. of Marysville; three brothers, Donald L. Jr. and Jeffrey A., both of Enola, and Ricky L. of Harrisburg; three sisters, Vicky L. Ream of York Haven, Pamela S. Enders of Halifax and Melissa A. Haines of Enola.
Services were held Aug. 22 in Richardson Funeral Home, Enola. Burial was in Stone Church Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp., Cumberland County.

Clara E. Bressler, 82, of Cumberland Street, Duncannon, died Friday, July 24, 1998 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
She was the widow of Howard P. Bressler.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald E. of Perdix and Daniel E. of Duncannon; a daughter, Mary E. Peters of Duncannon; two sisters, Laura Hilbish of Duncannon and Violet Maxwell of Enola; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 28 in Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville. Burial was in Long's Cemetery, Halifax.
