Harry R. Maguire, 68, of Towpath Road, Duncannon, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 1998 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born Aug. 7, 1930 in Penn Twp. to the late William R. and Ruth C. (Sullenberger) Maguire.
He was a retired Camp Hill borough employee and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Surviving are a sister, Ruth C. Durham, and two brothers, Eugene W. and John C., all of Duncannon.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Lingenfelter.
Services were held Sept. 19 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Duncannon Cemetery.

Bruce E. Manning, 82, of Shelton, Conn., died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998 in Bishop Wicke Health and Rehab Center.
He was born in Marysville, and resided in Trumbull, Conn., for more than 40 years before moving to Shelton.
He was retired from Perkin-Elmer where he was a member of the Foreman's Club; was a master sergeant in the Army in World War II; and a member of Trumbull Senior Citizens and the Newport VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Marie Shanabrough Manning; two sons, Richard of Stratford, Conn., and Ronald of Derby, Conn.; four sisters, Lydia Manning and Stella Souers, both of Newport, Rebecca Dunn of Enola and Louise Peck of Orlando, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Jason, Derick, Adam and Kelly Lynn Manning.
Services were held Feb. 27 in Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, Trumbull, with the Rev. Joseph Piccirillo officiating. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Elsie May, 69, of N. High Street, New Buffalo, died Sunday, Feb. 15, 1998 at home.
She was born May 9, 1928 in Duncannon to the late Joseph and Catherine (Harmon) Smith.
She retired from the Duncannon Dress Co. and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Duncannon, Duncannon American Legion Auxiliary and the Watts-Buffalo Community Center.
Surviving are four sons, Harry, Scott, Thomas and Todd Houck, all of Duncannon; three daughters, Joan Loudon, Ruth Ann Harper and Judy Schrieber, all of Duncannon; three brothers, Max Smith of Texas, Robert Smith of Utah and Harmon Smith of East Stroudsburg; 11 grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Malinda, and a son, Russell Houck.
Services were held in Boyer Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.

Catherine E. "Cassie" McAlicher, 91 of Thornwald Home, Carlisle, formerly of Elliottsburg, died Saturday, June 6, 1998 in the home.
She was born June 11, 1906 at Harrisburg to the late John Clark and Alice (Gutshall) McAlicher.
She was a retired schoolteacher, who had taught at Green Park Union School and various one-room schoolhouses; was a graduate of Landisburg High School and the former Shippensburg State Teachers College; a member of the local and state chapters of Christian Endeavor; a life member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Elliottsburg; and a member of the Pennsylvania State Teachers Association retirees group, Rebekah Lodge, Landisburg, and the Perry County Historical Society.
Surviving is a nephew, David J. McAlicher of Carlisle.
Services were held June 10 in her church with the Rev. Miriam L. Nicholson officiating. Burial was in East Harrisburg Cemetery.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

Leslie G. McAllister, 80, of Elliottsburg died Monday, Nov. 2, 1998 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born Jan. 31, 1918 in Landisburg to the late George and Gertrude (Crull) McAllister.
He retired from the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg; and had worked for Masland Industries and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, New Bloomfield; an Army veteran of World War II; member of Newport Owls Club and Newport American Legion; and an avid squirrel hunter.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Mae McAllister; a daughter, Connie L. Lesh of Elliottsburg RR 1; five brothers, Nelson Weller of Nebraska, Wayne Weller of Harrisburg, Charles Weller of Enola, Harold Weller of Summer-dale and Robert Weller of Wyoming; a sister, Dolly Fleisher of Thompsontown; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Weller.
Services were held Nov. 6 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Evangelical Cemetery.

Helen Jones McDonald, 71, of Juniata Street, Thompsontown, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 1998 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She was born Aug. 9, 1926.
She was a former supervisor in the state Revenue Department and a former personal secretary in Thompsontown and retired from Foss Jewelers, Mifflintown; a graduate of Newport High School; and a member of Thompsontown United Methodist Church and the TRW Pioneers, Harrisburg.
Surviving are her husband, Robert G. McDonald; two sons, Benjamin of Evergreen, Colo., and Jeff of Thompsontown; a daughter, Kelly Hisey of Exton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 2 in Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Maureen Wagner officiating. Burial was in Locust Run Cemetery, Thompsontown RR 1.

Kenneth C. "Mutz" McNaight, 87, of the Nipple Convalescent Home, Liverpool, formerly of Loysville, died Thursday, July 16, 1998 in the home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1911 at Newport.
He was the former operator of McNaight's Barber Shop in Loysville; a Navy veteran of World War II; a former manager of the Loysville team in the Perry-Juniata Sandlot Baseball League; a member and past governor of the Newport Moose lodge; a member of Lebanon United Church of Christ, Loysville, and Newport American Legion Post 177; and a life member of Landisburg VFW Post 9118 and the Newport Owls.
There are no immediate survivors.
Services were held July 21 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. George C. Martz officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

L. Ray McNaughton, 71, of N. Fifth Street, Newport, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 1998.
He was born Oct. 23, 1926 in Tuscarora Twp., Millerstown, to the late Charles F. and Margaret (Reeder) McNaughton.
He retired from Mohler Oil Service, Newport; was a former borough councilman; an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II; a member, trustee, choir member, Children's Choir director, Sunday school teacher and assistant superintendent and former council president of Market Street United Methodist Church; a former Cub Scout leader and adviser of Explorer Scout Post 222; a Civil Air Patrol lieutenant and pilot; and a past president of the Newport Jaycees.
Surviving are his wife, Leatrice Crist McNaughton; a son, Dan K., and a daughter, Elaine R. Sheaffer, both of Newport; two brothers, Charles F. of Elizabeth City, N.C., and Joseph of Millerstown; eight sisters, Grace Graver, Alda Gelbaugh and Jane Good, all of Millerstown, Sarah Heim of Harrisburg, Clara Asper of New Bloomfield, Florence Smith of Pottstown, Nancy Johnson of Landisburg and Pearl Kauffman of Wila; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 21 in his church with the Revs. Aden Wertz and Brand Easton officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery. Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.
