Lynn E. Rothermel McVoy, 42, of Millerstown died Monday, Aug. 17, 1998 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She retired from the former New Cumberland Army Depot and was a member of Liverpool American Legion Auxiliary Unit 364.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas M. McVoy; two daughters, Jacque A. Martson of Mechanicsburg and Joy Lynn Rothermel, at home; her parents, Francis T. and Frances Downey Morrissey of Boca Raton, Fla.; and two brothers, Frank Morrissey of Charleston, S.C., and Kevin Morrissey of Mechanicsburg.
Services were held Aug. 19 in Parthemore Funeral Home, New Cumberland.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Road, Wormleysburg 17043.
Grace E. Mellinger, 61, of Church Road, Penn Twp., Carlisle, died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born Aug. 23, 1937 in Carlisle to the late John J. and Bertha M. (Brookhart) Clark.
She was a member of the Huntsdale Church of Brethren and the Penn Twp. Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
Surviving are her husband, S. Rodney Mellinger; two sons, David L. Campbell of Carlisle and John C. "Jack" Campbell of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Ellen Mellinger-Blouch of Hershey and Jennifer L. Mellinger of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Joan L. Bonsall of Millerstown; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard D. Clark.
Services were held Oct. 20 in her church with the Rev. Jan Custer officiating. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Gibson-Hollinger Funeral Home, Mt. Holly Springs, handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 170 Church Road, Carlisle 17013.
Ethel R. Meloy, 93, formerly of Newport, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 1998, in the Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She was born March 27, 1905 in Orfino, Neb., to the late Amos and Alice (Surber) Johnson.
She retired from the state Department of Public Assistance in New Bloomfield, and was a former schoolteacher, an avid card-player; and a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport, and Perry Eastern Star Chapter 459.
She was the widow of William P. Meloy.
Surviving are a son, Tom of Hanover; a daughter, Pat L. McGowan of Newport; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 24 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Canon William T. Warne officiating.
Burial was in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery, Millerstown.

Arthur L. Messinger, 83, of Lock Haven RR 2 died at Lock Haven Hospital, Monday, Aug. 31, 1998.
He was born Oct. 4, 1914 in Marysville to the late Roy and Kathryne (Sherry) Messinger.
He worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps camp in Loganton at the former Bloomsburg Silk Mill in Lock Haven; was a brakeman for the former Pennsylvania Railroad in Enola; and was a foreman in the finishing department of Hammermill Paper Company of Lock Haven from 1945 until retiring in 1972 with 27 years of service. He was a 1934 graduate of Marysville High School; a life member of Giosue Carducci Lodge 146 Sons of Italy, Lock Haven; and a member of the Woolrich Square Dancing Club of Woolrich.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Lucy DelGrippo Messinger; one daughter, Carol K. Kirkbride of Mansfield, Ohio; a half-sister, Mildred Whitebread of New Cumberland; a half-brother, Richard of Marysville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary C. Barone, who died July 29, 1993, and Gayle M. Bowman, who died Nov. 13, 1986. Services were held Sept. 3 in Moriarty-Dutcavich Funeral Home, Lock Haven, with Mrsg. Dennis R. Boggs officiating. Burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Lock Haven.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association through the funeral home, 112 E. Church St., Lock Haven 17745.
Arletta L. Metzger, 83, of Newport RR 2 died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She retired from the Eileen Hope dress factory and was a member of Newport Church of God.
She was the widow of C. Arthur Metzger.
Surviving are a son, Ray A. of Newport, and a grandson.
Services were held Sept. 12 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Ellen V. Meyer, 96, of the West Shore Health and Rehabilitation Center, East Pennsboro Twp., Cumberland County, formerly of Loysville, died Saturday, June 6, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born March 30, 1901 in Saville Twp. to the late Sheridan and Mary R. (Kuller) Sweger.
She was a retired state employee and a former employee of Carlisle Hospital; and a member of Tressler Memorial Lutheran Church, Loysville.
She was the widow of George D. Meyer. Surviving are three daughters, Vera L. Shipe of Camp Hill; and B. Arlene Humphreys and Dolores Ann Schmidtke, both of Mechanicsburg; a son, William D. of St. Charles, Mo.; a sister, Alice Crawford of Lower Allen Twp.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles L. Meyer of Petaluma, Calif.
Services were held June 9 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Reasey officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery, Loysville.

Ronald L. "Mike" Michaels Sr., 51, of Newport died Friday, March 6, 1998 in University Hospital, Baltimore.
He was an aluminum siding construction worker and a member of Newport American Legion and New Bloomfield VFW.
Surviving are his wife, Carol A. Michaels; a son, Ronald L. Jr. of Shermans Dale; two daughters, Michele L. Swain of Duncannon and Dina M. Michaels of Carlisle; two brothers, Charles R. of Steelton and Donald R. of New Bloomfield; two sisters, Joyce Berrell of Harrisburg and Loretta Scarberry of York; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth N. Michaels.
Services will be at 2 p.m., March 21, in Otterbein United Methodist Church, Duncannon.
Cremation Society of Maryland, Baltimore, is handling arrangements.
John A. "Pigeon" Miller, 71, of Hummelstown, died Monday, Sept. 7, 1998.
He was a mechanic for Pennsy Supply Inc. for 46 years; a social member of Hershey VFW Post 3502 and Hummelstown American Legion Post 265; and a member of the Verhovay Home Association.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Umbrell of Belleview, Fla.; two sons, Joseph of Harrisburg and Ronald of Ocala, Fla.; four sisters, Lola Carpenter and Pearl Taylor, both of Duncannon, Anna Carpenter of Perdix and Mary Vennell of Millerstown; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
