Ruth V. Walker, 76, of Church Road, Newport, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 1998 at home.
She was born July 1, 1921 in Newport to the late Harry A. and Minnie (Zellers) Shutt.
She was a member of Bucks United Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid, Oliver Grange 1069 and the Red Hill Community Center; and was inspector of elections for Howe Twp. She was the widow of Mack D. Walker.
Surviving are a son, Carson E. of Newport; two daughters, Janice M. Ridolfi of Camp Hill and Dolores S. Weibley of Loysville; two brothers, James L. Shutt and H. Raymond Shutt, both of Newport RR 1; two sisters, Alice Trimmer of Carlisle and Evelyn Lindsay of Liverpool; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Services were held Jan. 29 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport., with the Revs. Aden Wertz and Harry Cole officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

Benjamin F. Watts, 87, of Watts Drive, Duncannon, died Monday, Feb. 2, 1998 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Nov. 26, 1910 in Penn Twp. to the late Frank and Sarah (Leiter) Watts.
He was a farmer.
Surviving are his wife, Sara Winter Watts; two sons, Warren W. and Larry A., a sister, Floy L. Harling, all of Duncannon; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 6 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. David Wynn officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.

Dorothy M. Weibley, 78, of Montebello Farm Road, Duncannon, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1998 at home.
She was born Nov. 24, 1919 in Royalton to the late William and Clara (Doup) Kreiser.
She retired from the former Duncannon Dress Co. and was a member of VFW Auxiliary Unit 255.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel J. Weibley; three stepdaughters, Elaine Kahley of Newville, Dorothy Zepp of Wessington, S.D., and Jane Clark of Portland, Maine; four brothers, Carl and Harold Kreiser, both of Harrisburg, Calvin Kreiser of New Bloomfield and Paul Kreiser of Hummelstown; four sisters, Frances Shaffer of Portland, Ore., Bessie Weldon of Newport, Virginia Turner of Shermans Dale and Alice Narehood of Millerstown; eight step-grandchildren; and 12 step-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 4 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Snyder's Church Cemetery, New Bloomfield RR 1.

H. Ray Wertz, 77, of N. Fifth Street, Newport, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998 at home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1921 in Harrisburg to the late H. Ray Sr. and Jessie (Kough) Wertz.
He had worked for the former E. Mather Co. and retired from Standard Wheel and Rim, both of Harrisburg; was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II; a former Newport borough councilman and council president; a member and past president of the Newport Lions Club, which last year honored him for service; a former board member of Newport Public Library; chairman of Newport Recycling; the 1993 Pomona Grange Man of the Year; a volunteer for RSVP, Newport Elementary School and Meals on Wheels; a former Eagle Scout; and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, F&AM Lodge 381, American Legion Post 177, Zembo Shrine Temple, Harrisburg, and Harrisburg Consistory.
Surviving are his wife, Jane W. Wertz; two daughters, Roberta "Bobbi" Wertz-Hoy and Mary Jane Wertz, both of Enola; and a brother, Richard H. of Reading.
Services, with Masonic rites, were held April 25 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Arthur Steckel officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

Dorothy C. White, 86, of Greer, S.C., and formerly of Millerstown, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998 in Manor Care Nursing Home, Yeadon, Pa.
She was born July 14, 1912 at Millerstown to the late David and Erna (Farner) Coates.
A 1930 graduate of Millerstown High School, she was a homemaker and a member of Clearview Methodist Church, Philadelphia.
She was the widow of James White, who died in 1977.
Surviving are two sons, Thomas L. Loy of Greer, S.C., and David W. Loy of California; one sister, Barbara Cox of Bellefonte; and three grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sept. 17 in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown, with the Rev. Karen W. Atanasoff officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
Laura M. Wilfong, 85, formerly of Marysville and Enola, died Monday, March 30, 1998 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
She was a retired state employee.
She was the widow of Ralph Wilfong.
Surviving are a son, Leroy of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Arthur Messinger of Lock Haven; a stepbrother, Richard L. Messinger of Marysville; a stepsister, Mildred Whitebread; and a grandson.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, June 5, in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, is handling arrangements.
Pearl E. Wileman, 83, of Linden Ave., Marysville, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998 in the Susquehanna Center.
She was a member and former organist and pianist of Wesley United Methodist Church, Marysville.
Surviving is a sister, Sarah E. "Bette" of Marysville.
Services were held Feb. 13 in her church. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

Anna C. Wilson, 79, of Mountainview Road, Shermans Dale, died Sunday, June 21, 1998 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born May 1, 1919 in Pittsburgh.
She retired as a school bus driver for West Perry School District and the Naval Supply Depot, Mechanicsburg. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Bloomfield, and Shermans Dale Ambulance Association.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth E. Wilson; five sons, Ronald K., Eugene E., Robert J., John S. and Thomas E., and four daughters Patricia A. Shope, Barbara J. Kuhn, Mary L. Shope and Margaret Reyna, all of Shermans Dale; a brother, Eli Cekovich of Enola; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held June 24 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Anthony Larry, O.S.F.S., officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
