Orpha I. Acker, 82, of N. Market Street, Duncannon, died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999 in HealthSouth Renova Center, Mechanicsburg.
She was born Jan. 31, 1917 in Pennsylvania to the late Earl and Mabel E. (Romig) Acker.
She was a private-duty nurse; and graduate of Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing; a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Duncannon, Duncannon Golden Age Club, Shermanata Grange 1796 and Duncannon American Legion Auxiliary; and enjoyed traveling and flea markets.
Surviving are two daughters, Carmen Mahoney of Tyler, Texas, and Irene Giordano of Berwick; a sister, Florence Howell; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 24 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Irene Friberg-Dussaq officiating. Burial was in Duncannon Cemetery.
Lee R. Allander, 60, of Linton Hill Road, Duncannon, died Friday, March 5, 1999 at his daughter's home.
He was born March 10, 1938 in Duncannon to M. Lucille (Leinaweaver) Allander and the late Ellis Allander.
He was employed by PennDOT; served in the Air Force; was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Duncannon; a former member of the band Country Outlaws; and a former union steward for A.F.S.C.M.E.
In addition to his mother, surviving are three sons, Ronald L. of Camp Hill, Glenn M. of New Bloomfield and Kerry S. of Virginia; one daughter, Lisa A. Hunsicker of Enola; one brother, Dale of Duncannon; and three grandchildren.
Services were held March 8 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.

Amy Kathryn Allen, 17, of Carroll Twp., Shermans Dale, died Monday, April 12, 1999 at home.
She was a student at West Perry High School, Elliottsburg, where she was involved in the Pathway pilot program, Desk Top Publishing.
Surviving are her stepfather and mother, Samuel and Beverly S. Heller Young of Shermans Dale; her father and stepmother, Gregory P. and Kate Allen of Woodstock, Ga.; a brother, Bryan G. of San Antonio, Texas; a sister, Shannon L. of Shermans Dale; her paternal grandparents, Paul and Betty Calaman Allen Jr. of Carlisle; and step-grandparents, Sam and Dorothy Young of West Milton.
Services were held April 16 in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. William E. Pipp officiating. Burial was in Biglerville Cemetery.

Brittany M. Altemus, 8, daughter of Daniel M. and Rhonda G. Altemus of Newport RR 2 died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999 at home.
She was born Aug. 24, 1990 in Harrisburg.
She was a second-grade student in Mrs. Ryan's class at Newport Elementary School; a player in the Newport Youth Soccer Association; a member of Girl Scout Troop 1554; and attended Central Baptist Church, Millerstown.
In addition to her parents, surviving are a brother, Daniel R., and a sister, Julie R., both at home; her maternal grandparents, Joseph and Margaret George of Garland, Texas; her paternal grandparents, Rev. Harold and Isabel Altemus of Johnstown; a paternal great-grandmother, Isabel Altemus of Leechburg; and a paternal great-grandfather, J. Edward Williams of Philipsburg; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services were held Feb. 2 in Central Baptist Church with pastors Wayne Krell and Robert Meyer officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

Samuel E. Armolt, 74, of Sawmill Road, Newville, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999 at home.
He was born Sept. 12, 1924 in Newville to the late Guy and Myrtle (Salisbury) Armolt.
He operated a sawmill in Bloserville for 40 years and was a member of McClures Gap Church of God.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Florence Stotler Armolt; three sons, Samuel E. Jr. of Shermans Dale, Lester R. of Newville and Terry L. of Chesapeake, Va.; four daughters, Rhonda K. Hall, Gloria J. Armolt and Julie A. Davis, all of Carlisle, and Cindy L. Lohman of Knotts Island, N.C.; a sister, Edna Barrick of Newville; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Armolt and two grandchildren, Michael Chronister and Joshua Armolt.
Services were held Feb. 8 in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. Paul Hauck officiating. Burial was in Upper Frankford Brick Church Cemetery.

Beulah L. Armstrong, 89, of Pennsylvania Avenue, Carlisle, died Wednesday, April 14, 1999, at the home of a daughter-in-law, Veda Weaver, in Carlisle.
She was born Aug. 30, 1909, in Harrisburg to the late Oliver and Dessie (Haney) Leiter.
She retired from Piezo Crystal.
She was the widow of James S. Armstrong.
Surviving are a son, Lloyd Weaver of Walton, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son, Merlin E. Weaver.
Services were held April 17 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Dorothy Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.
Pauline M. Arter, 85, of Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield, formerly of Duncannon, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999 at Perry Village.
She was born March 30, 1913 in Marysville to the late John S. and Grace (Lowe) Kenee.
She was a seamstress and rugmaker; a retired employee of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; a Protestant; and a former broadcaster for WHP where she had her own radio show, "The Patsy O'Day Show," in the 1930s.
She was the widow of Enos W. Arter.
Surviving are four sons, Gehrett W. and Jack E., both of Duncannon, Marlin O. of Virginia and Hampton G. of New York; a brother, Marlin Kenee of Harrisburg; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held in Union Cemetery with the Rev. George Yerger officiating.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.
Anna Mae Aucker, 87, formerly of Millerstown RR 2, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999 in Nipple Convalescent Home, Liverpool.
She retired as a seamstress from the New Bloomfield Dress Factory and was a former employee of the Liverpool Dress Factory and Miss Siren, Selinsgrove; attended Wilts Grammar School, Greenwood Twp.; was a member of Richfield Senior Citizens; attended St. James United Methodist Church, Millerstown RR 2; and enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
She was the widow of Howard P. Aucker.
Surviving are two daughters, Roseanna A. Stein of Pittsburgh and Joyce A. Drew of Liverpool RR 1; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 22 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool. Burial was in St. Peter United Methodist Cemetery, Millerstown RR 2.
