Catherine Irene "Red" Barthel, 72, formerly of Liverpool, died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born in rural Liverpool to the late Ross Daniel and Bertha (Wili) Mangle.
She attended Centerville Grammar School, Millerstown RR 1, and enjoyed playing bingo.
She was the widow of Paul Edward Barthel, who died May 6, 1985.
Surviving are two sons, Fred W. of York Haven, with whom she lived, and Thomas E. of Steelton; three daughters, Shirley I. Shirley and Robin E. Hill, both of Duncannon, and Connie L. Kuren of Lewisberry; two brothers, Herbert Mangle of New Buffalo and Richard Mangle of Mt. Pleasant Mills RR 1; one sister, Charlotte Kammler of Liverpool RR 1; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Roscoe Mangle, and two sisters, Hazel Keck and Thelma Reynolds.
Services were held Dec. 24 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. James Bramer officiating. Burial was in St. Matthew's Lutheran Cemetery, Old Ferry Road, Millerstown.

Helen I. Bashore, 88, formerly of Dillsburg and Enola, died Saturday, July 10, 1999 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
She was a member of East Pennsboro and Dillsburg senior citizens and a Lutheran.
She was the widow of David M. Bashore.
Surviving are three daughters, Ona Matter of Halifax, S. Arlene Beck of Enola and Mary Ann Drury of Dillsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 14 in Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Eleanor J. Baughman, 67, of Orchard Drive, Steelton, died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at home.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, Steelton.
She was the widow of Warren E. Baughman.
Surviving are one son, Michael R. of Loysville; one daughter, Tina Simpson of Lower Paxton Twp., her mother, Mary Breski of Steelton; one brother, James Breski of Lawnton; one sister, Genevieve Kamenar of Steelton; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 26 at Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Steelton. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 815 S. Second St., Steelton 17113.
Terry L. "Boo" Beasom, 39, of Thompsontown died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999 in Lewistown Hospital.
He was born Nov. 30, 1959 in Lewistown.
He had worked for Hinkle and McCoy in York, The Sled Works in Duncannon and Specialty Bakers, Marysville; attended East Juniata High School; a member of Thompsontown United Methodist Church and Thompsontown Fire Company; and enjoyed fishing, building models and repairing radios.
Surviving are a companion, Shirley Kauffman; his parents, Robert J. and Ethel I. Swartz Beasom of Thompsontown; a brother, Robert E. of McAlisterville RR 1; two sisters, Tammy Brown of Millerstown RR 1 and Sue Prye of Mifflintown RR 4; and his paternal grandmother, Mary E. Leister Beasom of Millerstown RR 1.
Services were held Jan. 22 in Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, with pastor Charles A. Sheaffer officiating. Burial was in Lost Creek Mennonite Cemetery, Mifflintown RR 2.
Earnest E. Beck Sr., 65, of Enola died Thursday, July 15, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He retired as a truck driver from the U.S. Postal Service; was a Navy veteran of the Korean War; a member of the Sixth Street Clover Club, Enola American Legion Post 751, Duncannon VFW Post 255 and the Blue Ridge Sportsman Club; an honorary member of the Sheriffs Association; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, S. Arlene Bashore Beck; three sons, Earnest E. Jr. of Enola, William D. of Duncannon and Timothy A. of Dauphin; two sisters, MaryAnn Horting of Dauphin and Lois Myers of Grantville; four brothers, Tony of Linglestown, John of York Haven, Thomas of Dauphin and Kenneth of Duncannon; and eight grandchildren.
Services were held July 19 in Neumyer Funeral Home. Burial was at the family's convenience.

Dorothy I. Behrendt, 72, of New Bloomfield RR 1 died Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She retired from the Book of the Month Club and was a former employee of Blough-Wagner, Harrisburg.
Surviving are a son, Charles W. of New Bloomfield; a daughter, Donna M. Seiber of Millerstown; and three grandchildren.
Services were held Aug. 31 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.

James B. Beichler Sr., 55, of Coral Drive, Carlisle, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999 in York Hospital.
He was the son of Nellie Beichler of Landisburg and the late Harold Beichler.
He retired as a self-employed vehicle maintenance technician; had attended West Perry High School; and was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church, Loysville.
Surviving are his wife, Linda A. Beichler; two sons, James Jr. of Mt. Holly Springs and Jesse of Carlisle; a daughter, Teresa Beichler of Carlisle; and a brother, David, and a sister, Jane Geiling, both of Landisburg.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.

Alvin H. Beistline, 88, of Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999.
He was born Feb. 17, 1911 in Mechanicsburg to the late Lemeul and Sadie (Rupp) Beistline.
He retired as a records supervisor from the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, and was a former member of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, Mechanicsburg.
He was the widower of Helen J. Beistline.
Surviving are a son, Robert A. of Boiling Springs; a sister, Mildred P. of Lemoyne; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond A.
Services were held Nov. 13 in Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. Burial was in St. John Cemetery, Hampden Twp.
