Chester R. Bookwalter, 69, of Millerstown RR 2 died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born March 30, 1930 in Mifflintown to the late Isaac and Bertha (Bowersox) Bookwalter.
He retired from Harsco Inc., Harrisburg; attended the Church of the Open Door, Richfield; and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and camping.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Foose Bookwalter; four sons, William, David, Tom and Chester Jr., all of Millerstown; a daughter, Darla Kratzer of Beavertown; a brother, Paul, and a sister, Violet, both of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, William Bookwalter Jr., Wanda Bookwalter, Barbie Bender, Calvin Book, Alicia Book, Brian Book and Mick Book; and a great-grandson, Keith Brian Bender.
He was preceded in death by a brother, George Bookwalter.
Services were held Aug. 27 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport with the Rev. Richard Von Neida officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery, Seven Stars.
M. Louise Boyer, 66, of Liverpool RR 1 died Thursday, April 22, 1999 at her daughter's Linglestown home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1932 in Lancaster to the late George and Mildred (Orris) Weibley.
She had worked at Miller's Market, Liverpool; was a graduate of Greenwood Joint High School, Millerstown; a Liverpool Twp. judge of elections; a member of Liverpool Fire Company Auxiliary and Hunter's Valley Sportsmen's Association; a social member of Liverpool Home Association; a member of St. John (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RR 1, its council secretary and active in the church's annual apple butter boil; was known for her cooking and enjoyed traveling.
She was the widow of Charles Wilson "Cactus" Boyer, who died April 1, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Joseph C. of Glen Rock; a daughter, Donna L. Hillegas of Linglestown; a sister, Doris Miller of Donnally Mills; and three grandsons, Adam and Jedd Boyer and Cory Hillegas.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Galen Weibley, and one sister, Beatrice Rice.
Services were held April 25 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Peter H. Kuebler officiating. Burial was in her church's Cemetery.

Kenneth C. "Pineapple" Boyer, 77, of State Road, Duncannon, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born June 28, 1921 in Parkville, York County, to the late Bruce and Lucy (Coble) Boyer.
He was a retired painter with R.E. Jones Inc. of Harrisburg; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of VFW Post 255 and American Legion Post 340, both of Duncannon, and Painters Union Local 411.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Lukens Boyer; a son, Kenneth B. of Steelton; a daughter, Susan B. Battistoni of Pocomoke, Md.; a brother, Joseph R. Barnett of Sarasota, Fla.; a sister, Lois Palmer of Duncannon; two granddaughters, Ashley and Denise; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, April D. Boyer.
Services were held Jan. 7 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Bernard Fortna officiating. Burial was in Duncannon Cemetery.
Leaten F. Bradley,91, formerly of E. South Street, Carlisle, died Thursday, April29, 1999 in Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
She was a former salad chef at the Best Western restaurant and a member of First United Methodist Church, its Sunday school and United Methodist Women.
She was the widow of William B. Bradley Jr.
Surviving are three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 3 in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle. Burial was in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery,Carroll Twp.

Blanche Rebecca Brightbill, 100, of Quincy United Methodist Home died Sunday, April 25, 1999 at the home.
She was born Aug. 31, 1898 in Duncannon to the late Charles T. and Mary Emma (Graham) Brightbill.
She was a retired registered nurse from Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, and a graduate of Quincy High School and Chester County Hospital School of Nursing.
Surviving are three nieces, Donna Clauer of Bel Air, Md., Wendy Didier of Tunkhannock and Marjorie Kilczewski of Belcamp, Md.
Graveside services were held April 28 in Union Cemetery, Duncannon, with the Rev. Dorothy Mitchell officiating.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.
Onata A. "Flukie" Brown, 86, formerly of Ickesburg RR 1, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 in Ross' Countryside Assisted Living, Elliottsburg.
She was born June 27, 1913 in Saville Twp. to the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Flickinger) Reisinger.
She had been a partner in the former E.M. Brown Insurance Agency; was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ickesburg, where she had taught Sunday school; had been active in community affairs; and was a member of the Ickesburg Lioness Club, Landisburg Rebekah lodge, and Ickesburg Fire Company and its Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Edward M. Brown, who died in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Lewis D. of Orbisonia; a daughter, Nancy K. Singleton of Ickesburg; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Services were held Oct. 4 in her church with the Rev. James A. Gold officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery.
Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled arrangements.
Pamela J. Brownawell, 42, of Pisgah Road, Shermans Dale, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999 at home.
She was born Oct. 27, 1956 in Carlisle.
She was a former employee of Rite Aid Corp., Ralston-Purina and the Valley Motel, Carlisle.
Surviving are her parents, Raymond L. and Bernadine Tidd Brownawell, with whom she lived; two brothers, Raymond L. Jr. and Timothy A., both of Shermans Dale; and a sister, Debra Silvis of Gardners.
Services were held Feb. 7 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Anthony C. Hill officiating. Burial was private.
Samuel W. Brownawell, 81, of Third Street, Carlisle, died Friday, Sept. 3, 1999 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born May 31, 1918 in Perry County to the late William C. and Minnie (Sheriff) Brownawell.
He retired from Carlisle Cement Products and was a former employee of Bonnybrook Stone Quarries; and a social member of American Legion Post 101.
Surviving are four daughters, Minnie J. Bolen of Gardners, Helen Russell and Sandy Stimeling, both of Newville, and Mary Ann Shields of Shippensburg; four brothers, Earl, Pete and Bob, all of Shermans Dale, and Jess of Carlisle; three sisters, Betty Rhoades of Gardners and Mary Stump and Mildred Nace, both of Carlisle; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.
