Frederick W. "Fritz" Busshaus, 79, of Cross Fork died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000 at home.
He was born July 13, 1921 in Cross Fork to the late Francis J. and Annie M. (Wolfgang) Busshaus.
He formerly was employed by Fairman Drilling Company and Consolidated Gas Company; a 1938 graduate of Renovo High School; was a member of the Civil Conservation Corps at Ole Bull; an Army veteran of World War II; a member of Centre Presbyterian Church, Loysville, Cross Fork Sportsmen's Club, Kettle Creek Ambulance Association, Kettle Creek Fire Company, Blain Sportsmen's Club, Blain Ambulance Association and Elks Lodge 334; and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Jane Clark Busshaus; a son, Paul F. of Apollo; two stepsons, Gary Clark and Donald Clark, both of Loysville; five daughters, Catherine Corkins of Milford, N.J., Susan White of Willow Street, Nancy Swanson of East Liverpool, Ohio, Janet Busshaus of Lebanon and Sarah Allen of State College; a stepdaughter, Donna Jo Shuman of Loysville; a brother, William of Cross Fork; four sisters, Elizabeth Gaiss of Corning, N.Y., Margaret Dunmire of Millheim, Mary Ann Helmle of Pottstown and Ruth Busshaus of Rochester, N.Y.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 25 in Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo, with Father Donald Boslett officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kettle Creek Ambulance Association or Cross Fork Sportsmen's Club.
William R. Cox, 49, of Shreiner Avenue, Lancaster, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000 at home.
He was born in Harrisburg to Anna Cox Swartz of Lancaster and the late William R. "Billy" Cox Sr., who was a third baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
He was employed as chief clinical dietitian by Lancaster General Hospital; received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Pennsylvania State University, a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Delaware and a master's degree from Lancaster Theological Seminary; and a member of the American Dietetic Association.
He was the widower of Dorothy Nocella Cox, who died in 1984.
In addition to his mother, surviving are two sisters, Cindy Schachter of Long Beach, Calif., and Shawn Carrozza of Montgomery, N.Y.; and a companion of 15 years, John D. Alley of Lancaster.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Cox.
Services were held Nov. 8 in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. Craig Ross officiating. Burial was in Zion Church Cemetery, Millersville.

Blanch E. Demmy, 92, of Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle, formerly of Carlisle and Shermans Dale, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999 in the health center.
She was a former member of Fourth Street United Methodist Church, Boiling Springs, and taught Sunday school; and was a member of Women's Missionary Society and Willing Workers Society.
Surviving is a sister, Esther Kingsborough of Palmyra.
Services were held at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle. Burial was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens.
Christina B. Dotson, 92, of Newport died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000 in Dauphin Manor, Swatara Twp.
She was a homemaker.
She was the widow of Chester Wayne Dotson.
Surviving are two sons, Joseph C. of Harrisburg and James W. of Panama City, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Sept. 18 in Newport Cemetery.
Neill Funeral Home, Paxtang, handled arrangements.
Clarissa W. Gross, 97, formerly of Mechanicsburg, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000 at her daughter's home in Duncannon.
She was born Dec. 26, 1902 in Cumberland County to the late Abram and Lydia (Davis) Witmer.
She was a retired cook for the Mechanicsburg School District and the Rotary Club of Mechanicsburg, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She was the widow of George A. Gross.
Surviving are one daughter, Marianne Henderson of Duncannon; two sisters, Anna and Rachael Zeigler, both of Mechanicsburg; four granddaughters; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 3 in Myers Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg, with the Rev. Julie Hart officiating. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.

Thomas H. Hager Jr., 72, of Landisburg RR 1, Spring Twp., formerly of Daytona Beach, Fla., died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000 at home.
He retired from the U.S. Treasury Department; was a navy veteran of World War II; a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Daytona Beach, and its vestry, building and finance committee; was active in charity and community work; and an avid golfer.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Pelagatti Hager; a son, Thomas H. III of Landisburg; a daughter, Anna Marie Merlin of Nova Scotia, Canada; two sisters, Betty Jane of Florida and Patricia Teal of San Diego; and five grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 5 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield. Burial was at the convenience of the family.

M. Harold "Pap" Hahn, 87, of Mt. Pleasant Mills RR 2 died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000 at the Millerstown RR 2 home of a daughter.
He was born Jan. 27, 1913 in Harrisburg to the late Meade B. and Carrie E. (McDonald) Hahn.
He was the former owner of Hahn's Bus Company; had done custom farm work; a member of Crossroads Mennonite Church, Richfield, and formerly attended Millmont Mennonite Church; and enjoyed farming, woodworking, gardening, fishing and traveling.
He was the widower of Dorothy W. Lyter Hahn, who died Sept. 14, 1989.
Surviving are his wife of eight years, Betty J. Jones Hahn; two sons, M. Harold "Bill" of Millerstown RR 2 and James A. of Dillsburg; two stepsons, Ronald C. Jones of Mifflintown RR 2 and Robert A. Jones of Hagerstown, Md.; two daughters, Carrie E. Kerstetter of Meeker, Colo., and A. Catherine Mathias of Millerstown RR 2; two stepdaughters, Barbara J. Weaver and Debra A. Stauffer, both of Mt. Pleasant Mills RR 2; a brother, Richard E. of Millerstown RR 2; eight grandchildren; 22 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood and Eugene, and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Reist.
Services were held Oct. 14 in Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with the Revs. Orval Graybill and David Swartzentruber officiating.

Stanley L. Haines, 72, of Newport RR 2 died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born Dec. 22, 1927 in Newport to the late Lewis and Dolie (Murphy) Haines.
He retired from United Telephone Co., Carlisle; was a former Oliver Twp. auditor; an Army veteran; a member and life elder of Newport First Church of God, and a member of the Gideons.
He was the widower of Dorothy Sarver Haines.
Surviving are a son, Richard L. of Newport; two daughters, Linda I. Martin of Elliottsburg and Donna J. Richard of Newport; seven brothers, Ralph of Shippensburg, Lenus and Ray, both of Newport, Grover and Donald, both of Duncannon, Carl of Minneola, Texas, and Marlin of Carlisle; three sisters, Mildred Dobyns of Newport, Faye Frye of Boise, Idaho, and Vera Asper of Ephrata; five grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Harry James.
Services were held Sept. 14 in his church with the Rev. Cheryl Dorman officiating. Burial was in St. Matthew Church Cemetery, Millerstown RR 1.
