LAWRENCE A. HOFF
Lawrence A. "Larry" Hoff, 64, of Liverpool RR 1 died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000 in RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
He was born Aug. 9, 1936 in Moorehead, Minn. to the late Henry "Hank" and Lila (Fevig) Hoff.
He worked for American Homes Technology, Hometown, and was CFO for Apex Homes, Middleburg, and had worked for Kegel Sign and Cook Sign companies; a 1954 graduate of Moorehead High School, Moorehead State College and Interstate Business School; served in the Air National Guard for 30 years, achieving the rank of major; played fast-pitch softball, golf and bowled; a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leaders and helped organize Little League in Fargo, N.D.; a member of Jaycees and Lions, and Trinity Lutheran Church, Moorehead, and its choir, taught Sunday school, was an elder in Hazelton Presbyterian Church and attended Beaver Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 39 years, Barbara Coleman Hoff; three sons, David and Larry, both at home, and Mike of Texas; and a brother, Richard of Eagan, Minn.
Services were held Sept. 8 in Beaver Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stanley D. Reep officiating. Burial was in Liverpool Union Cemetery with military honors.
Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, handled arrangements.

CHRISTINE R. HOHENSHILT
Christine R. Hohenshilt, 79, of Millerstown RR 2 died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She was born Sept. 6, 1921 in Millerstown.
She retired from the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg; was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lewistown, and the Newport Women's Club; and enjoyed playing bridge, making dolls and gardening.
She was the widow of George E. Hohenshilt.
Surviving are two sons, David E. of the Lehigh Valley and George E. of York; a daughter, Jean Tuzinski of Millerstown; a sister, Janet Swartz of York; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Jan. 6, in Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 21 S. Main St., Lewistown 17044-2116.

HELEN E. HOLLENBAUGH
Helen E. Hollenbaugh, 68, of Newport RR 3 died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000 in Harrisburg Hospital.
She was born Sept. 9, 1932 to the late Walter and Blanche (Smith) Roberts.
She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ickesburg.
She was the widow of Glenn W. Hollenbaugh Sr.
Surviving are a son, Glenn W. Jr. of Newport RR 3; a daughter, Beverly A. Reisinger of Wila; a brother, John W. Roberts of Newport RR 3; three sisters, Jane A. Serfass of Newport RR 2, Nancy L. Swartz of Newport and Patricia J. Roberts of Newport RR 3; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 28 in Newport Assembly of God with the Revs. Gary Bellis, Karen Easterly and Tony Hill officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

LORETTA B. HOOD
Loretta Beatrice "Tod" Hood, 81, of New East Street, Freeburg, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 in Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Dec. 22, 1918 in New Berlin to the late Arthur "Barney" and Iva P. (Spangler) Solomon.
She had owned Hood's Tavern in Freeburg with her late husband and also had been employed at L'Aiglon in Northumberland, Hotel Middleburger in Middleburg, Nite Kraft, and seasonally at Quarryville Canning Co. in Middleburg; attended St. Peter's Lutheran Church; was an accomplished cook and enjoyed reading.
She was the widow of L. Alton "Hoodie" Hood, who died July 1, 1989.
Surviving are three sons, William R. Klinger and Paul E. Hood, both of Middleburg, and George E. Pennebaker of Millerstown RR 2; four daughters, Pat L. Holmes of Liverpool, Janet Williams of Sunbury, Lois A. Wirt of Northumberland and Betty G. Clark of Millersburg; 25 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Sr. in 1993; a brother, Earl E. Solomon in 1989; a grandson, Daniel Hood in 1981; and a granddaughter, Sherry Swank in 1982.
Services were held Oct. 27 in Garman Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Kathleen M. Kinney officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Freeburg.

NORMA Z. HOOVER
Norma Z. Hoover, 70, of Duncannon RR 4, formerly of Honaman House, Thompsontown, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000 in the Camp Hill Care Center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1930 in Benvenue, Dauphin County, to the late Erma (Lukens) Seiler.
She was a self-employed seamstress and a Catholic.
Surviving are two brothers, Ronald E. and Lee E. Seiler Jr., both of Duncannon RR 4.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.

HELEN E. HOSTETTER
Helen E. Hostetter, 72, of New Germantown, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000 in Carlisle Hospital.
She was born Dec. 25, 1927 at Loysville RR 1 to the late Roscoe and Alice (Smith) Flickinger.
She was retired from Proberty Enterprises, Blain, and was an employee of the former Bedford Shoe Company and former Carlisle Tire & Rubber, both of Carlisle; and a member of New Germantown United Methodist Church, Blain Fire Company and Blain Ambulance Club.
She was the widow of Richard L. Hostetter.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda K. Gilbert of Carlisle; two sons, Ronnie L. of Enola and Rickie L. of Blain; a sister, Ferne V. Henry of Carlisle; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 24 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. John Semple officiating. Burial was in Blain Cemetery.

GLENN V. HOWELL JR.
Glenn V. Howell Jr., 62, of Camp Hill died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at home.
He was born May 25, 1937 in McAllen, Texas to the late Glenn Vern and Bertha Marie (Peck) Howell Sr.
He was educated in the Texas schools.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received numerous awards including the National Defense service medal, the Vietnam service medal with one Silver Star, the Vietnam campaign medal, three air medals, the Armed Forces expeditionary Medal (Korea), two Navy unit commendations, the RVN meritorious unit citation and the RVN meritorious unit citation. He was honorably discharged Sept. 23, 1975 with the rank of chief petty officer.
He also worked as an auto mechanic for several companies.
He was a Baptist and enjoyed football and the computer.
He was the widower of Maxine Eula Cagle Howell, who died April 28, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Glenna-Jo Gelnett with whom he lived; a sister, Dixie Lee Gilbert of Charleston, S.C.; and three grandsons, Christopher Grant Gelnett, Jonathan Glenn Gelnett and Benjamin Thomas Max Gelnett.
Services will be held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, with the Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Viewing will be held from 7 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A military memorial service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. by the Liverpool American Legion at the funeral home.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society Research Division, Central Susquehanna Unit, 1948 E. 3rd St., Williamsport 17701-3945.

DAVID L. JEFFRIS
David L. Jeffris, 75, of Broadway Avenue, Duncannon, formerly of Bayonne, N.J., died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000 at home.
He was born Oct. 9, 1925 in Oneida, N.Y., to the late Fred and Mabel (Woodbury) Jeffris.
He was a former employee of the Postal Service and Scott Printing Co., both in New Jersey; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member and pianist of Duncannon Assembly of God.
He was the widower of Estelle Jeffris.
Surviving are three brothers, Robert of Canastota, N.Y., Glen of Sherrill, N.Y., and Donald of Spring Hill, Fla.; and a sister, Agnes of Utica, N.Y.
Graveside services were held Nov. 27 in Bay View Cemetery, Jersey City, N.J., with the Rev. Dale Rosenberger officiating. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Dec. 2, in his church.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church, 500 N. High St., Duncannon 17020.
