Junior H. Smith, 70, of Windy Hill Road, Shermans Dale, died Friday, Dec. 1, 2000 in Carlisle Hospital.
He retired from Locust Point Stone Quarries, Mechanicsburg.
He was the widower of Jeannette L. Smith, who died in 1998.
Surviving are three sons, Kenneth H. and Daniel J., both of Shermans Dale, and Donald L. of Carlisle; seven daughters, Connie L. Swope of Mount Holly Springs, Barbara E. Barry, Mary Jane Smith, Bonnie E. Russell and Patricia A. Wright, all of Carlisle, Linda M. Sella of Coraopolis and Marjorie L. Chohany of Hanover; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Russell, and two daughters, Brenda and Debra.
Services were held Dec. 4 in Mount Holly Springs Church of God with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Burial was in Mount Holly Springs Cemetery.
Gibson-Hollinger Funeral Home, Mount Holly Springs, handled arrangements.

Steven C. Smith, 41, of Pine Grove Road, Gardners, died Saturday, Sept. 9, 2000 in Penn Twp., Cumberland County.
He was born Feb. 26, 1959 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was employed by Alexander Constructors, Inc. as a project engineer, and a former employee of E.C. Snyders Millwork, both of Harrisburg; a 1977 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School and Cumberland-Perry Vocational Technical School; a member of South Mountain American Legion Post 674, Mt. Holly Springs; and enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving are his parents, Miles S. and Ruth K. Keller Smith of Loysville RR 1; two brothers, Michael W. of Landisburg RR 2 and Rex Scott of Houston, Texas; and his paternal grandmother, Edith C. Smith of Blain RR 1.
Services will be held at 4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. George C. Martz officiating.
Viewing will be 3 to 4 p.m.

William L. "Smitty" Smith Sr., 73, of Regency Court, Carlisle, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born Nov. 25, 1926 in Blain to the late Charles L. and Audrey (Diffenderfer) Smith.
He was retired from PPG, where he was a glass processor for 14 1/2 years; a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Jean M. Woodward Smith; two sons, William Jr. of Duncannon and Martin B. of Carlisle; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were held Sept. 6 in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. Anthony DeRosa officiating. Burial was in Letort Cemetery, Carlisle.
George E. Snyder, 86, of Ickesburg died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000 in Manor Care, Carlisle.
He was born March 18, 1914 at Ickesburg to the late George B. and Francis D. (Calhoun) Snyder.
He was retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ickesburg, VFW Post 7463, New Bloomfield, American Legion Post 177, Newport, Ickesburg Fire Company and Ickesburg Ambulance Club.
He was the widower of Nellie E. Snyder.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert L., and four sisters, Bertha M. Galbraith, Carrie Clay, Helen Mellinger and Mary Thebes.
Services were held Dec. 15 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Karen Easterly officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown RR 1.
Charles T. Sowers, 70, of Millerstown RR 1 died Monday, March 6, 2000 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Sept. 28, 1929 in Millerstown to the late Allen G. and Miriam (Ditzler) Sowers.
He retired from the former Conrail; was an Army veteran of the Korean War; and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Florence Gordon Sowers; a son, Robert L. of Millerstown; a daughter, Kathy E. at home; a sister, Janet of Millerstown; and a granddaughter.
Services were held March 10 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Revs. Peter H. Keubler and Paul Case officiating. Burial was in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Glenn E. Spracklin, 67, of Millerstown RR 1 died Monday, Dec. 20, 1999.
He was born in Reading to the late Charles and Catherine J. (Sox) Spracklin.
He was a member of ASA Korea 501st, St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Ickesburg, Ickesburg Lions Club, Perry County, State and National Grange, Phoenix Society, Oakbrook Fire Company, American Legion and Millerstown Moose.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Dorothy Ruth Hennes Spracklin; one son, Glenn Jr.; three daughters, Debra, Laura and Carole; four brothers, Carl, Richard, Frank and Conrad; three sisters, Dolly, Emma and Mary; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to his church, Box 248, Ickesburg 17037.
Edna C. Speck, 78, of Valley Road, Marysville, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She was retired from Kmart, Summerdale, and worked for Homemakers Services of Perry County; a Navy veteran of World War II; a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Rye Twp., and its ladies auxiliary, and the Bell Group Ladies of Rye Twp.; and a 4-H leader.
She was the widow of Marlyn R. Speck.
Surviving are five sons, Raymond E. of Jersey Shore, Richard P. of Shermans Dale, and William M., Charles M. and Robert L., all of Marysville; three brothers, Robert Ausel of Akron, Ohio, and James Ausel and Frank Ausel, both of Oil City, Pa.; two sisters, Virginia Talmadge of Norcross, Ga. and Mary Ada Plyler of Titusville, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Speck, and a brother and a sister.
Services were held Feb. 9 in her church. Burial was in Grier's Point Cemetery, Rye Twp.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

Clyde E. Spotts, 91, formerly of Little Buffalo Road, Newport RR 5, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000 in the Camp Hill Care Center.
He was born Sept. 10, 1909 in Landisburg to the late Lowery and Rose Violet (Morrison) Spotts.
He retired from General Crushed Stone Quarry; a member of the Trappers Association; and enjoyed hunting and trapping.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Freet Spotts; a son, James; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clarence E. Spotts.
Graveside services were held Sept. 13 in Newport Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Case officiating.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.
