John Wesley Fisher, 3, son of John Samuel and Wilma High Burkholder Fisher of Elliottsburg RR 2, died Thursday, March 29, 2001 as the result of a farm tractor accident.
In addition to his parents, surviving are two brothers, Samuel W. and Seth J., both at home; his paternal grandparents, Joseph M. and Lavina S. Allgyer Fisher of Myerstown; his maternal grandparents, Christian G. and Miriam S. High Burkholder of Thomasville; and great-grandparents, Levi S. Burkholder of Frystown and Edith and John David High of Myerstown.
Services were held April 2 in Schaefferstown Mennonite Church. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Clauser Funeral Home, Schaefferstown, handled arrangements.
Eva P. Fleisher, 93, of Parkside Road, Camp Hill, died Thursday, May 3, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
She was born Nov. 9, 1907 in Wila to the late Harvey O. and Zora M. (Miller) Fleisher.
She retired in 1972 after 44 years of teaching from Washington Heights Elementary School, Lemoyne, and was a former elementary teacher in Lewistown; a graduate of Newport High School and the former Shippensburg State Teachers College and attended the former Pennsylvania State College; a member of Camp Hill United Methodist Church and Kappa Chapter, Alpha Delta Kappa sorority; and enjoyed travel.
Surviving are a sister, Arlene A., and a brother, Lester W., both of Camp Hill.
Services were held May 7 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Robert Reasey officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 417 S. 22nd St., Camp Hill 17011.
Brent E. Harris, 39, of N. Fifth Street, Newport, died Monday, June 11, 2001 at home.
He was born March 20, 1962 in Harrisburg.
He was a member of Newport American Legion, Newport VFW, Newport Social Order of Owls and enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra D. Youtzy; two sons, Ben D. and Cody, both of Newport; his parents, Ronald and Irene Harris of Newport; two brothers, Brad J. Harris of New Bloomfield and Ronald A. Harris of Newport; a sister, Kendra E. Sweger of Millerstown; and his maternal grandmother, Helen I. Myers of Newport.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

Violet E. Harris, 79, of Millerstown RR 1 died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at home.
She was born June 14, 1921 in Oliver Twp. to the late Harvey and Alice (Stohr) Dudley.
She had worked in the former Newport Fashions dress factory and was a member of St. Samuel's Lutheran Church, Newport, and its Pollyanna Class.
She was the widow of Gerald E. Harris.
Surviving are three sons, James E. of Newport, Gerald E. of Hummelstown and Richard A. of Millerstown; two daughters, Patricia L. Clouser of Millerstown and Doris E. Gelbaugh of Mechanicsburg; six brothers, Lenus, Wilbur, Elwood, Charles, Robert and James Dudley, and a sister, Miranda Burd, all of Newport; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Harris.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, in her church with the Rev. Irene Frieburg-Dussaq officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.

C. Lee Heisley, 81, of Marysville died Monday, April 23, 2001 in Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Mechanicsburg.
He was a retired supervisor from the Naval Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville, Perry Lodge 458, F&AM, Marysville, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine Temple, Zembo Shrine and Perry Juniata Shrine luncheon clubs, Buehler Lodge 269, Knights of Pythias, Marysville, VFW Post 882, Marysville, Newport American Legion, Golden Age Club of Marysville, Senior Life of Marysville Church of God, Marysville Senior Citizens Association and Marysville Fire Company.
He was the widower of Liberty Fay Smithgall Heisley.
Surviving are a sister, Jeanne H. Winn of Harrisburg and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held April 27 in his church. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.

Dale L. Hummel, 87, of Valley Road, Rye Twp., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001.
He was born Aug. 1, 1913 in Rye Twp. to the late William H. and Minnie (Gamber) Hummel.
He worked for the former James Bell Estate, Pennsylvania Railroad and Forbes Chevrolet, from which he retired in 1978; was a local historian; a member of Bethel United Methodist Church; and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He was the widower of Beula K. Adams Hummel, his wife of 48 years.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Duncannon and William of Marysville; a sister, Olive Luckenbaugh of Rye Twp.; and three granddaughters and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry, and six brothers and sisters.
Services were held Feb. 11 in his church. Burial was in Grier's Point Cemetery, Rye Twp.

Minnie M. Hummel, 96, of Newport RR 2 died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001 at home.
She was born Sept. 5, 1904 in Tuscarora Twp. to the late Hiram S. and Elsie J. (Sowers) Burd.
She was a housewife and a member of Pleasant Valley Brethren in Christ Church, Elliottsburg.
She was the widow of Paul M. Hummel.
Surviving are two sons, Paul M. Jr. of New Bloomfield and Donald K. of Newport; three daughters, Betty J. Fortney of Duncannon, Mildred L. Hoffman of Newport and Dorothy M. Parthemer of McClure; two sisters, Elizabeth Berstler of Middletown and Mildred Cox of Newport; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Doris J. Hummel, and a son, James L. Hummel.
Services were held Aug. 29 in her church with the Rev. Mervin Potteiger officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.

Mark D. Jefferies, 85, of West Shortcut Road, Howe Twp., Newport, died Sunday, April 8, 2001 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born Nov. 12, 1915 in Newport to the late Franklin D. and Mary (Bowman) Jefferies.
He retired from the Postal Service in Newport; was a Navy veteran of World War II; a past VFW district commander; and a member of St. Samuel's Lutheran Church, VFW Post 34, Moose Lodge 1562, American Legion Post 177, Disabled American Veterans, Newport Order of Owls, Perry County Ramblers and The Perry Historians.
Surviving are two sons, Mark A. of Fallston, Md., and Wilbur R. of Bountiful, Utah, and four grandchildren.
Services were held April 12 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Irene Friberg-Dussaq officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
