C. BLAINE BLACK
C. Blaine Black, 84, of Ball Town Road, Gardners, died Friday, April 23, 1999 at home.
He was born Oct. 11, 1914 in Shermans Dale to the late Charles A. and Ruth M. (Bear) Black.
He had been an employee of the former Duffy Mott Co., Aspers, for more than 20 years before retiring in 1977, attended Bethel Assembly of God Church, Littlestown.
Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Mary F. Smith Black; two daughters, Millie E. Grosby of Kansas City, Mo., and Gayle Gottshall of Harrisburg; four sons, Darwyn L. of Boiling Springs, Kenneth D. and Marion L., both of York Springs, and Dale B. of St. Louis, Mo.; two brothers, Dean C. Black of New Bloomfield and J. Lamont Black of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 27 in Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville, with the Rev. James R. Ruddy officiating. Burial was in Bendersville Cemetery.

EVELYN J. BLAINE
Evelyn J. Blaine, 74, of Shermans Creek Road, Duncannon, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 at home.
She was born April 9, 1925 in Lower Paxton Twp., Dauphin County, to the late Jacob L. and Myrtle V. (Herman) Lamason.
She formerly was employed at Eileen Hope and Children's Dress and was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Duncannon.
Surviving are her husband, George E. Blaine; a son, Harry F. Smith Jr.; of Harrisburg; and a sister, Phyllis Yarnell of Harrisburg.
Services were held Dec. 29 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. John Schaertel officiating. Burial was in Stone Church Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 98 S. Enola Drive, Enola 17025.

ELMER L. BRICKER
Elmer L. Bricker, 85, formerly of Newville, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
He was a retired farmer and mechanic.
He was the widower of Margaret S. Bricker.
Surviving are a son, Richard L. of Newville; a daughter, Peggy P. Bretz of New Bloomfield; two sisters, Pearl Kingsborough and Frances Stambaugh, both of Mechanicsburg; three brothers, Roy Bricker of Lemoyne, John Bricker of Lisburn and Clarence Bricker of Shiremanstown; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held March 1 in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Enola. Burial was in Stone Church Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola, handled arrangements.

EVALYN P. BAKER
Evalyn P. Baker,86, of Pine Street, New Buffalo, died Friday, May 7, 1999 in KinkoraPythian Home, Duncannon.
She was born Sept. 9, 1912 in Eshcol to the late Johnand Mary (Corman) Knisley.
She retired from the state Bureau of Vital Statisticsand was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, New Bloomfield.
She was the widow of Floyd D. Baker.
Surviving are two daughters, Flora F. Cameron of Millerstownand Judy Strickland of Newport; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 10 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport,with the Rev. Robert Knight officiating. Burial was in NewportCemetery.

GARY L. BANKES
Gary L. Bankes, 42, of Loysville RR 1 died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999 in Carlisle Hospital.
He was born Nov. 25, 1957 in Harrisburg to Ruth Ann (Weirich) Richcreek of Carlisle and the late Harry Bankes.
He was a transmission mechanic at K&H Ford, Mechanicsburg; had attended Middletown High School; and was a member of the Keystone Appaloosa Horse Club.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Elaine M. Varner Bankes; a daughter, Autumn M. Bankes, at home; two brothers, Barry L. Bankes and Clair E. Richcreek, both of Dover; and two sisters, Patricia M. Broom of York Haven and Pamela A. Richcreek of Carlisle.
Services were held Nov. 15 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Judy Rowles officiating. Burial was Blain Cemetery.

IRENE A. BOTDORF
Irene A. Botdorf, 88, of N. Union Road, Middletown, formerly of Millerstown, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999 in Frey Village Nursing Home, Middletown.
She was born Aug. 29, 1911 at Freeburg to the late Harry and Rhoda (Page) Mengel.
She retired as a music teacher at Greenwood High School, Millerstown; assisted her husband at the former Botdorf Funeral Home, Millerstown; graduated from Freeburg High School and Susquehanna University, Selins-grove; was a member and former worthy grand matron of the Eastern Star, New Bloomfield Chapter 459; and a member of Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport RR 1, where she had been a choir director.
She was the widow of Howard W. Botdorf, who died June 14, 1996.
Surviving are three daughters, Dawn Brink of Hummelstown, Darlene Jones of Birdsboro and Dolores White of McAlisterville; a son, Gerald Botdorf of McClure; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 23 in her church with the Rev. Edward Baugh officiating. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

JAMES B. BEICHLER SR.
James B. Beichler Sr., 55, of Coral Drive, Carlisle, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999 in York Hospital.
He was the son of Nellie Beichler of Landisburg and the late Harold Beichler.
He retired as a self-employed vehicle maintenance technician; had attended West Perry High School; and was a member of Centre Presbyterian Church, Loysville.
Surviving are his wife, Linda A. Beichler; two sons, James Jr. of Mt. Holly Springs and Jesse of Carlisle; a daughter, Teresa Beichler of Carlisle; and a brother, David, and a sister, Jane Geiling, both of Landisburg.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, 2600 N. Third St., Harrisburg 17110.

JUNE M. BOWEN
June M. Bowen, 85, of N. Fifth Street, Newport, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999 in Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Harrisburg.
He was born June 4, 1913 in Newport to the late Clarence and Kathryn (Oren) Carl.
She had worked for the former Lipsett Store and Newport Dress Factory; was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Bloomfield, and the Newport Fire Company Auxiliary; and enjoyed reading.
She was the widow of Ransom R. Bowen.
Surviving is a sister, Ellen R. Mitchell, with whom she lived.
Graveside services were held April 10 in Newport Cemetery, with Father Anthony Larry officiating.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Newport Fire Company Auxiliary, 50 S. Third St., Newport 17074.
BOWEN SERVICE
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Bloomfield for June M. Bowen, who died April 7, 1999.
Arrangements are being handled by Myers Funeral Home of Newport.

HELEN E. BARR
Helen E. Barr,79, of Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon,died Monday, April 26, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She was born Oct. 25, 1919 in Harrisburg to the lateJohn F. Sr. and Margaret (Hooven) Barr.
She retired as a stock-brokerage account executivefrom Legg Mason in Harrisburg; was a former board member of theGirls Club of Harrisburg; and a member of Pine Street PresbyterianChurch, Harrisburg, and the Soroptimist Club.
Surviving are several cousins and close friends, Jimand Pat Palmer of Halifax.
Graveside services were held April 30 in East HarrisburgCemetery with Dr. Richard Adams officiating.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.
