Helen I. Bashore, 88, formerly of Dillsburg and Enola, died Saturday, July 10, 1999 in Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
She was a member of East Pennsboro and Dillsburg senior citizens and a Lutheran.
She was the widow of David M. Bashore.
Surviving are three daughters, Ona Matter of Halifax, S. Arlene Beck of Enola and Mary Ann Drury of Dillsburg; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 14 in Sullivan Funeral Home, Enola. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Harry E. Brownawell, 90, of Shermans Dale, died Oct. 18, 1999 in the Todd Nursing Home, Carlisle.
He was born June 30, 1909 at Mt. Rock to the late William Edward and Mary (Horn) Brownawell and resided most of his life in Perry and Cumberland counties. He was the last of 15 children.
He was a retired employee of the state Department of Transportation; farmed in Perry County for many years; and a Navy veteran of World War II.
He was the widower of Helen B. Sauseman Brownawell, who died Oct. 8, 1998.
Surviving are one son, Ronald L. of Carlisle; two granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robert L. Brownawell, who died in 1965.
Services were held Oct. 20 at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. Eric J. Shafer officiating. Burial was in the Young's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shermans Dale.
Harold J. Bell, 49, of New Germantown died there Friday, May 28, 1999 as the result of an accident while working on a car.
He was a Pennsylvania State Forest volunteer and a social member of Highspire VFW Post 8638.
Surviving are a daughter, Melissa Lynn Boneno of Louisiana; a son, Carl Edward S. Dendy of Middleburg, Fla.; five sisters, Jane Gipe of Hummelstown, Shirley Kinsey and Carol Messner, both of Honey Brook, Marlene Mackavage of Middletown and Diane Marano of Delaware; and three brothers, Stanley of Hummelstown, Edward Jr. of Coatesville and Robert of Highspire.
Graveside memorial services were held June 3 in Highspire Cemetery.
Knight Funeral Home, Highspire, handled arrangements.
Dr. Katherine "Katie" Book, 47, of Shelton, Wash., died Thursday, March 4, 1999 in an automobile accident near Shelton.
She was born July 5, 1952 in Sewickley, Pa., to the late James P. and Elizabeth (McComb) Townsend.
She attended Duke University and received a medical doctorate at Hershey Medical Center in pediatrics. She also received a doctorate in psychiatry from the University of Washington. She spent time in Alaska serving Native Americans as part of her studies in psychiatry. She also was an apprentice to a Native American medicine woman, learning traditional medical skills. She served as a volunteer at Opympia Wildlife Rescue and at Wolf Haven. Her love of travel and wildlife took her and her family to Thailand, Mexico, Galapagos, Canada, Hawaii and throughout the United States. She was an avid photographer, taking pictures of memorable places and people.
Surviving are her husband of 23 years, Daniel Wiley Book; a seven-year-old son, Wiley Townsend Book; and a sister, Annie Townsend of Denver, Colo.
Services were held March 9 in Olympia, Wash.
Kenneth E. Berrier, 90, of Ickesburg died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999 at home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1908 in Saville Twp. to the late Adam and Anna (Barns) Berrier.
He had been a self-employed plumber and a former employee of Harry Kerr; a Navy veteran; a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the Ickesburg Ambulance Club and Ickesburg Fire Company; and a charter member of the Ickesburg Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife, N. Emma Weibley Berrier; two daughters, Darlene A. Adams of New Bloomfield and Deloris E. Kitner of Loysville; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Services were held Feb. 8 in his church with the Rev. Karen Easterly officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery, Ickesburg RR 1.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

Luraline Bolze, 80, of LaPorte Tr., Walkerton, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999 at home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1919 in Chicago to the late Raymond and Florence (Jones) Olson.
She was a member of Walkerton First Presbyterian Church and a 50-year member of North Liberty Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, Charles S. Bolze; and four sons, Jim, David, Thomas and Ken, all of Walkerton; and a sister-in-law in Perry County.
Services were held Dec. 6 in Nusbaum-Elkin Funeral Home, Walkerton, with the Rev. John Birkner officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
Eleanor J. Baughman, 67, of Orchard Drive, Steelton, died Saturday, May 22, 1999 at home.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Parish, Steelton.
She was the widow of Warren E. Baughman.
Surviving are one son, Michael R. of Loysville; one daughter, Tina Simpson of Lower Paxton Twp., her mother, Mary Breski of Steelton; one brother, James Breski of Lawnton; one sister, Genevieve Kamenar of Steelton; and five grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 26 at Prince of Peace-Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, Steelton. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Beth Ann Brown, 31, of Ickesburg died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999 in Howe Twp. as a result of an automobile accident.
She was born Jan. 7, 1968 in Harrisburg to Louise Burd Hoffman Guthrie of Elliottsburg RR 1 and the late Marlin J. Hoffman Sr.
She was a newspaper delivery person for U.S.A. Today News and a Protestant.
Surviving are her husband, Thomas L. Brown; two sons, Gerald Hoffman and Nicholas Hoffman, both of Elliottsburg RR 1; three daughters, Teaha Hoffman, Nicole Hoffman and LeAnne Hoffman, all at home; her stepfather, Nimon Guthrie of Elliottsburg RR 1; two sisters, Donna Collier of Halifax and Kay Ruse of Downingtown; one brother, Marlin J. Hoffman Jr. of Halifax; one stepbrother, Jason Guthrie of Orlando, Fla.; her paternal grandmother, Zella Hoffman of New Bloomfield; and nine nieces and nephews.
Services were held Sept. 20 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Revs. James H. Gold and Karen Easterly officiating. Burial was in Snyder's United Methodist Church Cemetery, New Bloomfield RR 1.

Bernice H. Bell, 79, of Susquehanna Twp., Dauphin County, died Friday, Nov. 19, 1999 in Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
She retired as a secretary from the former Joe the Motorist's Friend.
She was the widow of George L. Bell.
Surviving are a daughter, Georgiana Brown of Loysville; a son, Thomas G. of Blain; a sister, Doris Robinson of Allentown; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Nov. 23 in Neill Funeral Home, Paxtang. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Leaten F. Bradley,91, formerly of E. South Street, Carlisle, died Thursday, April29, 1999 in Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle.
She was a former salad chef at the Best Western restaurantand a member of First United Methodist Church, its Sunday schooland United Methodist Women.
She was the widow of William B. Bradley Jr.
Surviving are three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren;and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 3 in Ewing Brothers FuneralHome, Carlisle. Burial was in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery,Carroll Twp.
