MARY E. BERKHEISER
Mary E. Buchanan Berkheiser, 89, formerly of Hershey, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999 at the home of her nephew in Millerstown.
She was born Sept. 18, 1909 in Hershey to the late Charles R. and Lizzie (Lingle) Buchanan.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hershey, where she had served the Primary Class for 45 years, and attended the Millerstown Senior Center.
She was the widow of Earl W. Berkheiser.
Surviving is a sister, Anna S. Gelbaugh of Millerstown, and nieces and nephews.
Services were held Feb. 4 in her church with the Rev. Dr. Winfield J. Devonshire Jr. and the Rev. Arthur D. Steckel II.
Hoover Funeral Home and Crematory, Hershey, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Millerstown Senior Center, 99 Greenwood St., Millerstown 17062; her church, 212 Cocoa Ave., Hershey 17033; or PinnacleHealth Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg 17110.

MARGARET J. BOWERSOX
Margaret J. Bowersox, 62, of Millerstown RR 1, Liverpool Twp., died Tuesday, June 8, 1999 at the home of her son, David L., where she had resided.
She was born Sept. 9, 1936 in Juniata County to Winifred (Shover) Bennett of Newport and the late Arthur Bennett.
She attended Blessed Hope Bible Church, Liverpool RR 2, and enjoyed sports, NASCAR, reading and crafts.
She was the widow of Lester Eugene Bowersox, who died Nov. 20, 1992.
In addition to her son and mother, surviving are four sons, Jack L. of Ickesburg RR 1, William E. of Liverpool RR 2, Doug A. of Shermans Dale RR 1 and Randall A. of Millerstown RR 1; one daughter, Sara A. Bowersox of Loganton RR 2; three brothers, Robert Bennett of Pinellas Park, Fla., K. Barry Bennett of Duncannon and Dennis Bennett of Liverpool RR 1; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, William, Wallace and Donald R. Bennett, and one sister, Nancy Shutt.
Services were held June 11 in Blessed Hope Bible Church with the Rev. Lou N. Mancari officiating. Burial was Hunter's Valley Cemetery, Liverpool RR 2.
Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Drive, Harrisburg 17110.

LESTER E. BLAINE
Lester E. Blaine, 77, of Mulberry Street, Newport, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999 at home.
He retired from TRW, Harrisburg; had worked for Snap-On Tools; was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II; a Protestant; and a member of Newport VFW Post 34 and American Legion Post 177.
He was the widower of Sara L. Blaine.
Surviving are a son, Lester E. Jr., and a daughter, Linda Sweigart, both of Newport, and five grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Aug. 5 in Newport Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

M. LOUISE BOYER
M. Louise Boyer, 66, of Liverpool RR 1 died Thursday, April 22, 1999 at her daughter's Linglestown home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1932 in Lancaster to the late George and Mildred (Orris) Weibley.
She had worked at Miller's Market, Liverpool; was a graduate of Greenwood Joint High School, Millerstown; a Liverpool Twp. judge of elections; a member of Liverpool Fire Company Auxiliary and Hunter's Valley Sportsmen's Association; a social member of Liverpool Home Association; a member of St. John (Barner's) Lutheran Church, Liverpool RR 1, its council secretary and active in the church's annual apple butter boil; was known for her cooking and enjoyed traveling.
She was the widow of Charles Wilson "Cactus" Boyer, who died April 1, 1997.
Surviving are a son, Joseph C. of Glen Rock; a daughter, Donna L. Hillegas of Linglestown; a sister, Doris Miller of Donnally Mills; and three grandsons, Adam and Jedd Boyer and Cory Hillegas.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Galen Weibley, and one sister, Beatrice Rice.
Services were held April 25 in Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, with the Rev. Peter H. Kuebler officiating. Burial was in her church's Cemetery.

MARTHA S. BENDER
Martha S. Bender, 85, of Hickory Lane, Briar Park, Dover, Del., died Thursday, July 29, 1999 at Bayhealth Care KGH.
She was born Aug. 17, 1913 to the late Elmer and Pearl (Ricedorff) Stambaugh.
She retired in 1978 after 20 years as a registered nurse with the Division of Public Health and was a graduate of the Polyclinic Hospital School of Nursing in Harrisburg.
She was the widow of J. Russell Bender, who died in 1982.
Surviving is a grandson, Sean Byron of Dover, Del.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Daryl L. Byron, who died in 1980.
Trader Funeral Home, Dover, handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be sent to Holy Cross School, S. State Street, Dover, Del.

NELL E. BOLINGER
Nell E. Bolinger, 96, formerly of Newport, died Sunday, May 23, 1999 in the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown.
She was born Dec. 27, 1902 in Three Springs to the late John A. and Mary E. "Shue" Stevens.
She retired from First National Bank of Newport and was a member of Market Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, travel and the Hershey Bears.
She was the widow of J. Morrow Bolinger.
Surviving are a son, Robert S. of Lancaster, three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James Morrow Bolinger.
Services were held May 27 in her church, with the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

ONATA A. BROWN
Onata A. "Flukie" Brown, 86, formerly of Ickesburg RR 1, died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999 in Ross' Countryside Assisted Living, Elliottsburg.
She was born June 27, 1913 in Saville Twp. to the late Jacob and Elizabeth (Flickinger) Reisinger.
She had been a partner in the former E.M. Brown Insurance Agency; was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ickesburg, where she had taught Sunday school; had been active in community affairs; and was a member of the Ickesburg Lioness Club, Landisburg Rebekah lodge, and Ickesburg Fire Company and its Auxiliary.
She was the widow of Edward M. Brown, who died in 1982.
Surviving are a son, Lewis D. of Orbisonia; a daughter, Nancy K. Singleton of Ickesburg; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.
Services were held Oct. 4 in her church with the Rev. James A. Gold officiating. Burial was in Eshcol Cemetery.
Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, handled arrangements.

ROBERT L. BURCH
Robert L. Burch, 57, of N. Fourth Street, Newport, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999 in Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born Aug. 16, 1942 in Bellefonte to Janet Burch of Bellefonte and the late Wellman L. Burch.
He was retired from Herre Brothers; an Army veteran; a Lutheran; a 1960 graduate of Bellefonte High School; life member of Logan Fire Company; a member of Perry County Archers; and active in promoting transplant awareness and liked fishing and racing and established the web site for the Port Royal Race Track.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Audrey Korman Burch; a son, Karl D. of Newport; a daughter, Kristina L. Burch of Birdsboro; two brothers, Walter of Glen Morgan, W.Va., and William of Millersburg; and a sister, Charlotte Larimer of Bellefonte.
Services were held Nov. 3 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Eric Yingst officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Union Cemetery, Bellefonte.
