BELLE J. CAMPBELL
Belle J. Campbell, 89, of Newport RR 2 died Sunday, July 4, 1999 at her daughter's James Creek home.
She was born June 2, 1910 in Juniata Twp. to the late John and Margaret (Julius) Campbell.
She was a member of St. John's Reformed Church, Markelsville.
She was the widow of Melvin E. Campbell.
Surviving are two sons, Darwin of Moscow, Pa., and Ronald of Newport; a daughter, Millie Campbell of Newport; two brothers, S. Roy Campbell and George Campbell, both of Halifax; a sister, Elnora Fisher of Marysville; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Reba A. Campbell.
Services were held July 6 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Dan Goodwin officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

BESSIE P. CHRISTOPHER
Bessie P. Christopher, 97, of Claremont Drive, Carlisle, and formerly of Millerstown RR 3 and Mechanicsburg, died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 1999 in Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Jan. 1, 1902 at Millerstown RR 3 to the late Harry and Gertrude (Pines) Pressley.
She retired as an occupational therapist from the Harrisburg State Hospital, Harrisburg; formerly worked as a cashier at the Hill Cafe, Harrisburg, and the Manhatten Store, Harrisburg; and was a member of Reward United Methodist Church, Millerstown.
She was the widow of Theodore M. Christopher.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Pressley, and three sisters, Ann Anderson, Elsie Doughten and Dorothy Pressley.
Services were held Oct. 18 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Peter M. Beddia officiating. Burial was in Reward Cemetery.

CLAIRE M. CASSATT
Claire Marie Neeley Cassatt, 98, formerly of Newport, died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999 in Shady Grove Nursing Home, Rockville, Md.
Affectionately known as Aunt Claire by family and close friends, she was a retired elementary schoolteacher; a graduate of Newport High School and the former Shippensburg State Teachers College; member of Colonial Park United Church of Christ, its Friendship Club and Edna Hoke Sunday School Class, Harrisburg and Ridgeview garden clubs and the National Retired Teachers Association.
She was the widow of Linus M. Cassatt.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Barbara L. Cassatt of Severn, Md., and Gladys A. Gochnauer of Lancaster; two stepgrandchildren; a nephew, Jack D. Neeley of Highland, Calif.; and two nieces, Arlene S. Kennedy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Betty N. Fleisher of Harrisburg.
Services were held Jan. 16 in Hetrick Funeral Home, Harrisburg. Burial was in Rolling Green Cemetery.

DAVID A. COHICK
David Alan Cohick, 41, of Newport RR 3 died Saturday, July 10, 1999 while performing with his band, Dog's Best Friend, at the Wilapalooza Concert.
He was born Nov. 27, 1957 in Lewistown to Gail Helwig Cohick of Newport and the late Charles A. Cohick.
He was parts manager for Maguire's Ford, Duncannon; and a drummer with Dog's Best Friend; a member of Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren, Newport Fire Company, Newport Social Order of Owls, Millersburg Moose lodge and American Legion Post 177; and enjoyed golf and car restoring.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his fiancee, Ronda Holland, with whom he lived; three brothers, Dean, Darren A. and Deven A., all of Newport; and his maternal grandmother, Julia Helwig of McAlisterville; four nephews; and a niece.
Services were held July 15 in Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport, with the Revs. Paul Heisey and John Shenk officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

DEAN E. CLOUSE
Dean E. "Sonny" Clouse, 65, of Carlisle Road, Gardners, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999 at Carlisle Hospital.
He was born Jan. 27, 1934 in Perry County to the late Harold and Viola (Dietz) Clouse.
He retired from Knouse Foods, Gardners.
Surviving are his wife, Linda L. Stouter Clouse; four daughters, Deborah L. Sheaffer and Michelle I. Tolley, both of Mt. Holly Springs, Lorie A. Weidner of Gardners and Tammy J. Albright of Newville; a brother, Harold E. of Gardners; a sister, Betty I. Heberlig of Mt. Holly Springs; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine I. Rickrode.
Services were held July 2 in Gibson-Hollinger Funeral Home, Mt. Holly Springs, with the Rev. Richard Reese officiating. Burial was in Mt. Victory Cemetery, South Middleton Twp.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Holly Springs Church of God, 14 Fairfield St., Mt. Holly Springs 17065.

ALICE C. S. CRAWFORD
Alice C. Sweger Crawford, 94, of E. Main Street, New Bloomfield, formerly of Wesley Drive, Lower Allen Twp., Cumberland County, died Friday, Feb. 19, 1999 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She was born Nov. 13, 1904 at Erly to the late Sheridan and Mary R. (Kuller) Sweger.
She retired from the state Revenue Department; had sung in the Bethany Towers Choir; was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Ickesburg; and had attended Camp Hill United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of Luther A. Crawford Sr, who died Dec. 29, 1972.
Surviving are three daughters, Larue A. Schlusser of Ickesburg, Sylvia M. Kerstetter of Harrisburg and Yvonne L. Trout of New Bloomfield; three sons, Luther A. Jr. and James L., both of Ickesburg, and Robert E. of Newport RR 2; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 22 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Reasey officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery, Loysville.

DOROTHY E. COMP
Dorothy Evelyn Comp, 88, of Barnett Drive, Duncannon, died Monday, July 19, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg.
She retired from State Farm Insurance Co.; was a graduate of the former William Penn High School, Harrisburg; and member of Fifth Street United Methodist Church, Harrisburg, its Les Fidelis Sunday School Class and the church bazaar and Easter egg makers group.
Surviving are a niece, Lisa Sellers, with whom she lived, and a sister, Miriam Cassidy, and brother, J. Lester Sr., both of Camp Hill.
Services were held July 22 in Geigle Funeral Home, Susquehanna Twp. Burial was in East Harrisburg Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, 1721 N. Fifth St., Harrisburg 17102.

EDGAR C. CRULL
Edgar C. "Patty" Crull, 89, of State Road, Duncannon, died Sunday, Jan. 17, 1999 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Dec. 1, 1909 in Duncannon to the late Amos and Margaret (Cummings) Crull.
He was retired from Hempt Bros, Camp Hill; a former school bus driver for Rohrer Bus; a former employee Capital Police, Harrisburg; and an Army veteran of World War II and recipient of five bronze stars and Croix De Guerre.
He was the widower of Dorothy Hoffman Crull.
Surviving are one son, John E. Hoffman of Giddings, Texas; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 20 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.

EDWIN C. CLOUSER
Edwin Clark Clouser, 47, of Barnett Street, New Bloomfield, died Saturday, Dec. 25, 1999 at home.
He was born March 5, 1952 in Harrisburg to Helen (Rhoades) Clouser of New Bloomfield and the late Burt Welcomer Clouser.
He was a plumber and member of Social Order of Owls of Newport and a social member of New Bloomfield VFW.
In addition to his mother, surviving are a son, Jesse Clark; a brother, Burt, and a sister, Nancy Stahley, both of New Bloomfield.
Services were held Dec. 28 at Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. Patricia Woolever officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
