C. GRACE GRAVER
C. Grace Graver, 92, formerly of Millerstown and Conestoga, died Saturday, July 24, 1999 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She was born March 17, 1907 in Tuscarora Twp. to the late Charles F. and Margaret (Reeder) McNaughton.
She was a devoted daughter, sister and wife. She helped her mother raise a large family, and helped her father with farming and the care of an apiary of 250 colonies of bees, plus the work with the honey and wax. She also assisted her husband in managing the Graver Store in Conestoga until and shortly after his death.
She was a member of St. Samuel's Lutheran Church, Newport, and its Pollyanna Class.
She was the widow of Alfred Graver.
Surviving are two brothers, C. Frank McNaughton of Elizabeth City, N.J., and Joseph R. McNaughton of Millerstown; and six sisters, Sarah Heim of Harrisburg, Florence Smith of Pottstown, Alda Gelbaugh and Jane Good, both of Millerstown, Nancy Johnson of Landisburg and Pearl Cauffman of Wila.
She was preceded in death by a brother, L. Ray McNaughton, and six sisters, Mary McNaughton, Viola Gintzer, Alice Mitchell, Clara Asper, Thelma Curt and Blanche Cable.
Services were held July 27 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. Irene Friberg-Dussaq officiating. Burial was in River Corner Mennonite Cemetery, Conestoga.
Memorial contributions may be made to her church, P.O. Box 307, Newport 17074.

DAVID E. GILBERT JR.
David E. Gilbert Jr., 59, of Faculty Road, Duncannon, died Monday, May 24, 1999 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was a truck driver for Jevic Transportation Co., Delanco, N. J., and a former driver for T.N.T. Redstar Co. of Harrisburg.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy C. Wolford Gilbert; three sons, David M. of Missoula, Mont., Douglas G. of Newport and Mark A. of Camp Hill; two sisters, Jacqueline A. Day of Mechanicsburg and Betty J. Penica of Linglestown; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Memorial services were held May 28 in Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton. Burial was in Churchville Cemetery, Oberlin.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Capital Region Unit, 1500 N. Second St., Harrisburg 17102.

MARY A. GEORGE
Mary A. George, 92, of Maplewood Avenue, Carlisle, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999 in Carlisle Hospital.
She was born May 21, 1906 at Elliottsburg RR 1, the fifth daughter of the late Charles E. and Cora A. (Hench) Jacobs.
She retired from Allen's Produce, Carlisle.
She was the widow of Orah K. George.
Surviving are a sister, Stella Burns; nine nieces and their families; and 10 nephews and their families.
Services were held Jan. 6 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Donald L. March officiating. Burial was in Evangelical Cemetery, Elliottsburg.

EVA M. GOBRECHT
Eva M. Gobrecht, 95, of Village Square, Chambersburg, formerly of S. Fourth Street, Chambersburg, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999 in Chambersburg Hospital.
She was born Oct. 30, 1903 in Greene Twp. to the late William "Mac" and Mary A. (Traxler) Shearer.
She had been an elementary school teacher for 35 years; was a graduate of the former Fannett Twp. High School; attended Penn State College, State College, Elizabethtown College and graduated from the former Shippensburg State College with a degree in education.
She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania and Franklin County Association of School Retirees, Franklin County AARP 2287, Franklin County Daughters of the American Revolution, Cumberland Valley Chapter Daughter of 1812, Perry County Order of Eastern Star 459, Martha Custis Order of Eastern Star 342, Chambersburg, Ladies Auxiliary McCartney Post 232 American Legion, Dry Run, Pennsylvania and National Grange and Chambersburg Area Hospital Auxiliary; and a former member of Gideon Grange 2010, Hanover.
She was the widow of Monroe S.E. Gobrecht, who died Aug. 19, 1971.
Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn Thebes of New Bloomfield; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Services were held Aug. 5 in the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, with the Rev. Dr. C. Edward Morgan and chaplain Vernon D. Isner officiating. Burial was in St. Bartholomew's U.C.C. Cemetery, Hanover.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, Franklin/Fulton Division, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg 17201, or her church, 40 Lincoln Way West, Chambersburg.

JAMES J. GALLAGHER
James J. "Spook" Gallagher, 58, of Shermans Dale, formerly of Philadelphia, died Saturday, May 8, 1999 at home.
Surviving are his wife, Sandra Okarski Gallagher; his mother, Alice C. Gallagher; three brothers, Anthony J., Charles T. and Thomas E.; and a sister, Jean Kennedy.
Services were held May 12 in Campbell Funeral Home, Philadelphia. Burial was in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Penndel.

KATHRYN F. GARVIN
Kathryn F. Garvin, 81, formerly of Millerstown, died Friday, June 18, 1999 in Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
She was born April 25, 1918 in Ickesburg to the late Jay and Lucy (Spriggle) Reisinger.
She retired from the former Pomeroy's department store in Harrisburg; was a former Avon dealer; and a member of Derry Street United Methodist Church, Harrisburg.
Surviving are a son, Timothy R. of Halifax; a sister, Jean Shipe of Millerstown; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette Hauber.
Graveside services were held June 20 in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown, with the Rev. Arthur Montgomery officiating.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, handled arrangements.

KENNETH M. GLEIM
Kenneth M. Gleim, 76, of E. Louther Street, Carlisle, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at home.
He was born Oct. 4, 1922 in Allen, Pa. to the late Forest and Evelyn (Fair) Gleim.
He was a retired employee of Giant Foods, Inc. with 18 years service and was an employee of Troy Laundry for more than 20 years; a 1943 graduate of Mechanicsburg High School; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of First Church of God, Carlisle.
He was the widower of Anna M. Reighter Gleim.
Surviving are two sons, Douglas E. of Carlisle and David G. of Newport; three daughters, Patricia L. Neidigh of Carlisle, Lois L. Myers of East Berlin and Martha A. Wormer of Carlisle; an aunt, Dorothy Wise of Carlisle; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 3 in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. D. Alan Mathna officiating. Burial was in Longsdorf Cemetery, Silver Spring Twp.

LAWRENCE L. GARNER
Lawrence Leroy Garner, 75, of Millerstown RR 2 died Saturday, March 13, 1999 in Nipple Convalescent Home, Liverpool.
He was born Dec. 25, 1923 in Gardners to the late Boston and Margaret (Griffie) Garner.
He retired in 1985 from C.H. Masland Carpet, Carlisle; a member of St. John (Barners) Lutheran Church; and enjoyed NASCAR.
Surviving are his wife, Erma I. Coleman Wileman; two sons, Lawrence H. and Walter L., and a daughter, Doris J. Garner, all of Carlisle; two stepsons, Larry E. Wileman of Mount Pleasant Mills and Richard L. Wileman of Logantown; a stepdaughter, Barbara A. Walton of Millerstown; a brother, Marlin of Gardners; three sisters, Edith Jumper of Mount Holly Springs, Marie Lubold of Lincolnton, N.C., and Gretna Bretz of Boiling Springs; 11 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Lynne Garner on Dec. 15, 1993; three brothers, Charles, Herman and Lester Garner; and three sisters, Stella Jumper and Alberta and Helen Garner.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, in his church with the Rev. Peter H. Kuebler officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery.
Viewing will be from 1 p.m., Wednesday, until the time of the service.
Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, handled arrangements.

PHYLLIS A. GREEN
Phyllis A. Rouch Green, 75, of Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon, formerly of Hummelstown, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999.
She was a former nurse's aide; a graduate of Hershey High School; and a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Middletown Congregation.
She was the widow of Carter J. Green.
Surviving are four daughters, Bonnie S. Baine of Waynesboro, Barbara A. MacGee of Harrisburg, Audrey E. Egley of Mechanicsburg and Dorothy L. Keller of Halifax; a son, Thomas A. of Elizabethtown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held Dec. 18 in Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Middletown. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Hummelstown, handled arrangements.
