Sara J. Geedy, 78, of Beaver Springs died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000 at Hershey Medical Center.
She was born Feb. 5, 1922 in West Beaver Twp., Snyder County, to the late Vincent W. and Mary A. (Getz) Kuhn.
She attended Bannerville Church of the Brethren, and was a member of Newport Assembly of God and its Women's Missionary Society, and Beaver Springs Senior Center.
She was the widow of Clifford M. Geedy, who died Sept. 7, 1989.
Surviving are two sisters, Eunice Masso of Berlin, N.J., and Grace Reigel of Beaver Springs; and three brothers, Floyd Kuhn of Honeoye, N.Y., Paul Kuhn of McClure and James Kuhn of West Berlin, N.J.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Margaret Erb, Florine Kuhn, Esther Rickert and Janet Hassinger; a brother, Perry V. Kuhn; and a brother missing in action during military service, John Kuhn.
Services were held Oct. 1 in Newport Assembly of God with the Rev. Gary L. Bellis and pastor Liane Wagner officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Duncannon.
Aurand Funeral Home, Beavertown, handled arrangements.
Walter A. "Ed" Goodling Jr., 63, of Loysville RR 1 died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000 at home.
He was born March 18, 1936 at Winside, Neb., to Bertha M. (Koch) Goodling of Loysville and the late Walter A. Goodling Sr.
He was a retired farmer and a carpenter; attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Loysville RR 1, and was a member of the Pennsylvania Farmer's Association and Blain Ambulance Club.
In addition to his mother, surviving are his wife, Gail I. Lyons Goodling; four daughters, Lou Ann Neely, Susan E. Bell and Marty J. Morrow, all of Loysville, and Karen E. Zeiders of Biglerville; a son Brian A. of Loysville; a brother, Donald D. Goodling of Landisburg; three sisters, Marjorie Rice and Joanne Robinson, both of Loysville, and Arlene Wallace of Blain; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services were held Jan. 25 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville. Burial was in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

William R. Gabel, 73, of Hampden Twp. died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000 at home.
He was born Oct. 10, 1927 in Newport to the late Leslie and Mary (McNaughton) Gabel.
He retired as a maintenance director for Red Star Express; a Navy veteran of World War II; a life member and president of the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing; life member of Lanco Micro Midget Racing Club, Checkered Flag Fan Club, York County Racing Club, Seven Mountains Bluegrass Association and Cocalico Valley Jammers; a member of Chapel Hill United Church of Christ, East Pennsboro Twp.; and participated in Thursday night bluegrass jam sessions at Franklintown Firehall.
He was the widower of M. Marie Gabel.
Surviving are a son, William R. Gabel II of Mt. Holly Springs; two daughters, Ruth Markley of Dallastown and Reba Gabel of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Nelson Gabel of Colorado; and two grandchildren.
Services were held Oct. 27 in Musselman Funeral Home, Lemoyne. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill.

Christine R. Hohenshilt, 79, of Millerstown RR 2 died Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2000 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
She was born Sept. 6, 1921 in Millerstown.
She retired from the former Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg; was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Lewistown, and the Newport Women's Club; and enjoyed playing bridge, making dolls and gardening.
She was the widow of George E. Hohenshilt.
Surviving are two sons, David E. of the Lehigh Valley and George E. of York; a daughter, Jean Tuzinski of Millerstown; a sister, Janet Swartz of York; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Jan. 6, in Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.

Daniel Hinebaugh, 82, of Sea Pines, S.C., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2000 in Hilton Head Medical Center and Clinics.
He was born July 15, 1917 in Lewistown to the late Daniel and Esther (Wertz) Hinebaugh.
Upon graduation in 1937 from The Williamson School in Media, he joined Singer Sewing Machine Co. in Philadelphia, from which he retired as general manager, Far East.
He was an Army captain in World War II, serving with the "Fightin' Bitin'" Squadron of the 306th bomb group. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters for completing 25 combat missions.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head Island.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Cynthia Gilmer Hinebaugh; two daughters, Susan Speirs and Sally Sobolewski, both of Greenville; two sisters, Jean Nooker of Arroyo Grande, Calif., and Elizabeth Vacca of Harrisburg; and four grandchildren.
Services were held Feb. 5 in his church with the Rev. Lydia Rappaport officiating.

Doris I. Dowdrick Hepfer, 75, of Maple Avenue, Marysville, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000 in the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown.
She was a certified registered nurse anesthetist and the former owner of the Marysville and West Fairview TruValue Hardware stores; a graduate of the former Duncannon High School and a graduate of the Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing and Anesthestology; and a member of the Duncannon High School Alumni Association.
Surviving are one daughter, Dawn M. Hamilton of Marysville; one son, Brett Hamilton of Groveland, Fla.; one sister, Mary Ellen Dowdrick of Duncannon; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Darlene J. Henry, 47, of Windy Hill Drive, Newport RR 2, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000.
She was born July 14, 1952 in Ft. Stewart, Ga.
She had worked for the state Department of Education, and was a member of Mount Olivet Church of the Brethren and the Susquehanna Jays Camping Club.
Surviving are her husband, James W. Henry Sr.; a son, James W. Jr. of Newport; a daughter, Jeanna A. Henry of Harrisburg; her parents, George and Erma H. Myers of Newport; and three sisters, Barbara Strawser and Brenda Butler, both of Newport, and Michelle Jochimsen of Clarksville, Tenn.
Services were held March 1 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with pastors Eugene Jones and John Shenk officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery, Newport.

Glenn J. Herbster, 82, of Beavertown RR 1 died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2000 at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
He was born Oct. 26, 1918 in Troxelville to the late James and Bessie (Steininger) Herbster.
He retired as a farmer; had been employed at Bethlehem Steel, Harrisburg, Reigle's Mill, Paxtonville, and National Limestone Quarry, Middleburg; served as a Beaver Twp. supervisor; attended St. Peter's Independent Bible Church, Beavertown RR 1, and formerly attended Salem Independent Brethren Church, Middleburg, where he was a Sunday school superintendent for 25 years; a life member of Rescue Hose Company, Beavertown; a member of the Holstein-Friesian Association of America; and enjoyed deer hunting and woodworking.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, OlaJean Bailey Herbster; three daughters, Marjorie J. Baker of Lewistown, Sandra L. Seasholtz of Sunbury and Linda M. Herrold of Selinsgrove RR 1; a son, Richard E. of Duncannon; three sisters, Phyllis Hassinger of Alaska, Vesta Lessman of Sunbury and Ruth Walter of Middleburg RR 4; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Cloyd, Bruce, Parke and Donald Herbster, and two sisters, Augusta Herbster and Dorothy Mitchell.
Services were held Nov. 18 in Hummel Funeral Home, Middleburg, with the Revs. James Plank and Darvin Reich officiating. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Beavertown.

Gerald L. Hall, 66, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Shermans Dale, died Wednesday, April 5, 2000 in the home.
He retired from the Navy and had worked at the State Correctional Institution at Camp Hill; was a graduate of the former Enola High School; and a Navy veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.
Surviving are a brother, Kenneth R. of York, and two sisters, Mary L. Hoffman of Summerdale and Betty S. Clouse of Williamsburg RR 1.
Services were held April 8 in Bolger Funeral Home, Williamsburg. Burial was in German Valley Cemetery, Shirleysburg RR 1.

Glenn V. Howell Jr., 62, of Camp Hill died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at home.
He was born May 25, 1937 in McAllen, Texas to the late Glenn Vern and Bertha Marie (Peck) Howell Sr.
He was educated in the Texas schools.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received numerous awards including the National Defense service medal, the Vietnam service medal with one Silver Star, the Vietnam campaign medal, three air medals, the Armed Forces expeditionary Medal (Korea), two Navy unit commendations, the RVN meritorious unit citation and the RVN meritorious unit citation. He was honorably discharged Sept. 23, 1975 with the rank of chief petty officer.
He also worked as an auto mechanic for several companies.
He was a Baptist and enjoyed football and the computer.
He was the widower of Maxine Eula Cagle Howell, who died April 28, 1998.
Surviving are a daughter, Glenna-Jo Gelnett with whom he lived; a sister, Dixie Lee Gilbert of Charleston, S.C.; and three grandsons, Christopher Grant Gelnett, Jonathan Glenn Gelnett and Benjamin Thomas Max Gelnett.
Services will be held at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the George P. Garman Funeral Home, 606 N. Front St., Liverpool, with the Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
Viewing will be held from 7 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. A military memorial service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. by the Liverpool American Legion at the funeral home.
