Barbara M. Auxt Hoover, 81, of Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon, died there Monday, Jan. 1, 2001.
She was born May 28, 1919 in Penn Twp. to the late Jacob and Ora (Fissel) Auxt.
She enjoyed playing bingo.
She was the widow of Richard W. Hoover.
Surviving are four sons, Richard C. and James W., both of Marysville, and Jack and Steven J., both of Duncannon; three daughters, Barbara A. Richards of Duncannon, and Susan K. Ready and Brenda L. Stees, both of Marysville; three brothers, Fred Auxt of Enola, Samuel Auxt of Duncannon and Jacob Auxt of Marysville; two sisters, Sara Sands of Duncannon and Aretta Acri of Camp Hill; 18 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hoover.
Services were held Jan. 4 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.

Carl Edward "Pap" Heintzelman, 83, a resident at Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove, and formerly of Liverpool, died at the nursing home Sunday, April 22, 2001.
He was born Oct. 7, 1917 at Port Trevorton RR 1 to the late William Nelson and Maggie Edna (Brown) Heintzelman.
He retired in 1979 after 27 years as a machinist with Conrail/Enola Yards, and also worked construction and farmed.
He was a member of Zion Hall's Lutheran Church, Port Trevorton RR 1 and Port Trevorton Volunteer Fire Company, and enjoyed family and television.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Flossie Ruth Dietz Heintzelman; two sons, Wayne W. of Shermans Dale and Paul E. of Selinsgrove; two daughters, Barbara C. Herrold and Maggie J. Sholley, both of Port Trevorton RR 1; a brother, Norman of Port Trevorton RR 1; two sisters, Margaret Lilley of Selinsgrove RR 4 and Edith Basom of Selinsgrove RR 2; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Walter, William and Charles; and two sisters, Mabel Bower and Mary Heintzelman.
Services were held April 25 in Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, with the Rev. Timothy W. Bingman officiating. Burial was in St. Peter's Cemetery, Millerstown RR 2.

C. Lee Heisley, 81, of Marysville died Monday, April 23, 2001 in Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Mechanicsburg.
He was a retired supervisor from the Naval Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg; an Army veteran of World War II; and a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville, Perry Lodge 458, F&AM, Marysville, Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine Temple, Zembo Shrine and Perry Juniata Shrine luncheon clubs, Buehler Lodge 269, Knights of Pythias, Marysville, VFW Post 882, Marysville, Newport American Legion, Golden Age Club of Marysville, Senior Life of Marysville Church of God, Marysville Senior Citizens Association and Marysville Fire Company.
He was the widower of Liberty Fay Smithgall Heisley.
Surviving are a sister, Jeanne H. Winn of Harrisburg and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held April 27 in his church. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Marysville.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

Charles L. Howell, 63, of S. 14th Street, Harrisburg, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001 at home.
He was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel; a Navy veteran; and a member of Marysville Lions Club.
Surviving are two sons, Charles L. II of Nashville, and Donald L. of Carlisle; a daughter, Angela Stabley of Harrisburg; his mother, Lillian M. Howell of Duncannon; two brothers and four sisters; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial was at the convenience of the family in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Cremation Society of Pennsylvania handled arrangements.

Dale L. Hummel, 87, of Valley Road, Rye Twp., died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001.
He was born Aug. 1, 1913 in Rye Twp. to the late William H. and Minnie (Gamber) Hummel.
He worked for the former James Bell Estate, Pennsylvania Railroad and Forbes Chevrolet, from which he retired in 1978; was a local historian; a member of Bethel United Methodist Church; and enjoyed gardening and woodworking.
He was the widower of Beula K. Adams Hummel, his wife of 48 years.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald of Duncannon and William of Marysville; a sister, Olive Luckenbaugh of Rye Twp.; and three granddaughters and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry, and six brothers and sisters.
Services were held Feb. 11 in his church. Burial was in Grier's Point Cemetery, Rye Twp.

Dorothy M. Hench, 72, of Loysville RR 1 and recently a resident at ManorCare, Carlisle, died Thursday, March 22, 2001 in Carlisle Hospital.
She was born April 20, 1928 at Loysville RR 1 to the late Dewey and Della (Kope) Hench.
She was a member of the Church of the Living Christ, Loysville RR 1, and Blain Senior Citizens' Center.
Surviving are six brothers, Richard Hench of Shippensburg, Larry Hench, David Hench and Keith Hench, all of Loysville, Gerald Hench of New Bloomfield and Carl Hench of Carlisle; and two sisters, Anabell Dupert of Elliottsburg and Bonnie Hench of Carlisle.
Services were held March 26 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with pastor Ronald S. Weigel officiating. Burial was Restland Cemetery, Loysville.
Edwin F. Herr, 84, of Centerville Road, Millerstown, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001 at home.
He was born Sept. 21, 1917 in Harrisburg to the late Edwin R. and Verna (Bentzel) Herr.
He had worked for the former Pennsylvania Railroad as a maintenance foreman and was retired from AMP, Inc. as a facilities engineer; a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Bloomfield, Knights of Columbus Council 4068, Camp Hill, and Hans Herr House Foundation, Lancaster; founding member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Camp Hill; a life member of the Engineers Society of Pennsylvania; board member emeritus of AMPRA retirees; and enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Dauman Herr; a son, Edwin W. of Rome, N.Y.; a brother, Robert M. of Shiremanstown; three grandchildren, Maureen Marks, Joanne Lieske and Edwin W. Herr Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin and Lauren Lieske.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Russell.
Services were held Oct. 21 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with Father Robert Sharman officiating. Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 22 in his church, and Burial was in Mitchell Cemetery, Greenwood Twp., Millerstown.

Elizabeth M. Henry, 54, of Newport RR 5, Juniata Twp., died Thursday, March 8, 2001 at home.
She was born March 25, 1946 in England.
She was co-owner of Henry's Electronics, Newport; a graduate of Newport High School; and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Newport.
Surviving are her husband, Larry D. Henry; two daughters, Teresa M. Kuhn of Mount Pleasant Mills and Lisa M. Benedetto of Thompsontown; her parents, Wilbert M. and Joan M. Finton of Newport; three brothers, Morris Finton of Linglestown, Paul Finton of Florida and Kenneth Finton of Newport; and four grandchildren.
Services were held March 11 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with the Rev. David Arnold officiating. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

Gary W. Hilbish Sr., 46, of Watershed Drive, Duncannon, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001 at home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1955 in Harrisburg to the late Clifford L. Sr. and Laura (Lilley) Hilbish.
He was an employee of Covenco in Middletown; a graduate of Susquenita High School; vice president and fire police captain of Duncannon Fire Company; a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Duncannon; and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Evelyn J. Kulp Hilbish; a son, Gary W. Jr. of Enola; a daughter, Stacey S. Liddick of Duncannon; two brothers, Clifford L. Jr. of New Buffalo and Kenneth R. of Duncannon; five sisters, Donna M. Pressley of Carlisle, Wendy L. Lukens of New Bloomfield, Dena R. Walsh of Halifax, and Karen D. Trevenen and Raye Anne Shatto, both of Duncannon; and a granddaughter.
Services were held Oct. 19 in his church with the Rev. B. Michael Brossman officiating. Burial was in Hill Cemetery, Duncannon RR 4.
