Lillian Mae Parsons, 77, formerly of Liverpool, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 in Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
She was born April 23, 1923 at Shade Gap to the late Levi Emery and Annie Jane (Hess) Parsons.
She was employed for 15 years by the former Snyder Convalescent Home, Liverpool, as a domestic and a nursing aide, and was a member of the Fundamental Bible Church, Newport.
Services were held March 22 in her church with the Rev. David J. Bard officiating. Burial was in Wright's Presbyterian Cemetery, Millerstown RR 1.
Garman Funeral Home, Liverpool, handled arrangements.

Marlin S. Potter,87, of McAlisterville RR 1 died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001 in BrooklineManor Convalescent and Rest Home, Mifflintown RR 1.
He was born March 19, 1913 in Monroe Twp., JuniataTwp., to the late Banks C. and Minnie E. (Landis) Potter.
He was a farmer and also worked at Van Dyke BrickWorks, McAlisterville Cannery and retired in 1977 after 27 yearsas a carpenter with Bethlehem Steel; attended Metz School, Millersburg;a member of Brown's United Methodist Church, McAlisterville RR2, Perry Saddle Club, New Bloomfield and Greenwood trout clubs;and enjoyed woodworking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, readingand western movies.
He was the widower of Laura E. Ehrisman Potter, whodied Feb. 12, 1995.
Surviving are three sons, Roy R. of McAlisterville,Dale M. of New Bloomfield and Roger L. of McAlisterville RR 1;two daughters, Lorraine M. Lauver of McAlisterville RR 1 and LoisPotter of Clifton Heights; a brother, Leroy of Harrisburg; foursisters, Gladys Dockey of Branchdale, Ardella Horting and MiriamStraub, both of Harrisburg, and Geraldine Potter of Mt. HollySprings; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Donald L.; eightbrothers; and five sisters.
Services were held Jan. 24 in Sheaffer Funeral Home,McAlisterville, with the Rev. Ronald E. Landis officiating. Burialwas in Richfield Union Cemetery.

Ruth Irene Peters, 83, of the Wyndam Lakes nursing home, Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Duncannon, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001 in the home.
She was born Nov. 18, 1917 in Duncannon to the late Curtis F. and Julia E. (Lowe) Maxwell.
She retired from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Motor Vehicles and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Duncannon.
She was the widow of James R. Peters.
Surviving are two sons, Alvin E. of Duncannon and James C. of Jacksonville; a brother, Carl R. Maxwell of Duncannon; three sisters, Alice King and Mary Ellen Kelly, both of Dauphin, and Florence Dietz of Duncannon; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanora Auxt and Sara Blain.
Services were held Jan. 15 in her church with the Rev. David Willard officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Duncannon.
Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, handled arrangements.

Bertha A. Stum, 91, formerly of Newville and Marysville, died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Quincy United Methodist Retirement Center, Quincy.
She was born in Pittsburgh and raised in Perry County.
She was the former choir director for Calvary Church, Lemoyne, and had taught piano for 60 years; a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Marysville, where she accompanied the choir on the piano for 10 years; played the piano for many activities at the retirement center and was in the choir; and did many hours of volunteer work at the nursing home and in the country store.
She was the widow of Paul Edward Stum.
Surviving are a daughter, Bonnie S. Grau of York; a son, Rev. David E. of Silver Spring, Md.; a brother, A. Leon Reisinger of Camp Hill; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
Services were held April 17 in the retirement center. Burial was in Landisburg Cemetery.
Shalonis Funeral Home, Marysville, handled arrangements.

Clyde Edward Sheely, 76, of Walnut Bottom Road, Carlisle, and formerly of Largo, Fla., died Wednesday, June 6, 2001 in Sarah Todd Memorial Home, Carlisle.
He was born Feb. 19, 1925 in Carlisle to the late Ralph and Florence M. (Baker) Sheely.
He was employed with the Postal Service for 33 years, retiring in 1980 at Carlisle, then moved to Largo, Fla. where he lived for 16 years, then relocated back to Carlisle. He was a 1943 graduate of Carlisle High School; an Army veteran with the 17th Airborne in World War II, serving with the 139th Airborne Engineer Battalion in Rhineland and Belgium and being awarded the EAME Service Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star; a member of First United Church of Christ, Carlisle, and a former member of the Chapel on the Hill United Church of Christ in Seminole, Fla.; and enjoyed traveling and dining out.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Ruth R. Henry Sheely; a daughter, Brenda J. Dingle of Elliottsburg; a son, Ralph H. of Carlisle; a sister, Helen L. Sheely of Carlisle; three granddaughters, all of Carlisle; and two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren, all of Ontario, Canada.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert P. and Eugene H. Sheely.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 30, in First United Church of Christ, 30 N. Pitt St., Carlisle, with the Rev. Lynn R. Schultz officiating.
Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is handling arrangements.

Charlotte M. Sload, 89, of Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, formerly of Duncannon, died Tuesday, June 5, 2001 in the homes.
She was born March 25, 1912 in Duncannon to the late Edward and Roseanna (Singleton) McCann.
She retired from the state Bureau of Motor Vehicles and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary 340 and the Duncannon High School Alumni Association.
She was the widow of Ivan K. Sload Sr.
Surviving are a son, Patrick J. of Marysville; a daughter, Janice A. Brewster of Florence, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ivan K. Jr.
Services were held June 9 in Smith Funeral Home, Duncannon, with the Rev. Dorothy H. Mitchell officiating. Burial was in Union Cemetery.

David Lee Shanafelter, 49, of N. Pitt Street, Carlisle, and formerly of Perry County, died Friday, Jan. 19, 2001 at home.
He was born Jan. 15, 1952 at Blain RR 1 to the late Warren D. and Constance J. (Anderson) Shanafelter.
He was an employee of Ross Distribution, Carlisle, and a member of Three Springs Church of the Brethren, Blain RR 1, and the Blain Sportsman's Club.
Surviving are a son, Anthony M., a daughter, April T. Shull, and a granddaughter, Tiffani T. Shull, all of Shermans Dale.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren D. Shanafelter Jr.
Services were held Jan. 23 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. Roz Mason officiating.

Donald M. Schlusser, 86, of Campground Road, Carlisle, died Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at home.
He was born Dec. 8, 1914 in Spring Twp. to the late Harrison C. and Della (Bower) Schlusser.
He was the former owner and operator of Don Schlusser's Truck Stop, New Kingstown; a former Lower Frankford Twp. supervisor; a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299, White Circle Club, Moose Lodge 761 and VFW Post 477, all of Carlisle, Plainfield Gun Club, Mt. Holly Springs American Legion Post 674 and Boiling Springs VFW Post 8851.
He was the widower of Hazel Mountz Schlusser.
Surviving are four sons, George, Howard "Bill" and Jerry, all of Carlisle, and John of Landisburg; five daughters, Arlene Graver, Shirley Kiser, Bonnie Miller and Donna Yarlett, all of Carlisle, and Madella Keeseman of Newville; two brothers, Harrison of Mt. Holly Springs and Paul of North Carolina; two sisters Ruth Mixell and Esther White, both of Carlisle; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry and Dale Schlusser.
Services were July 16 in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, Carlisle, with the Rev. Paul M. Veldman officiating. Burial was in Westminster Memorial Gardens, North Middleton Twp.
Donna Snyder-Adams, 32, of Millerstown RR 1 died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001 in Hershey Medical Center from injuries received in a Christmas Day automobile accident.
She was born Nov. 7, 1968 in Wilmington, Del.
Surviving are her husband, John Adams; two sons, Christopher Snyder and Ryan Snyder, and a daughter, Jessica Snyder, all at home; her mother and stepfather, Billie and William Noctor of Marysville; a sister, Amber Noctor of Marysville; maternal grandparents, William and Peggy Troutman of Newport; and paternal grandmother, Jean Troutman of Delaware.
Services were held Jan. 8 in Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield, with the Rev. William Harrick officiating. Burial was in Bloomfield Cemetery.
