Born in Mount Union, she lived in Denville, N.J. for 25 years before moving to Clearwater, FL, in 1985.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Donald L. Haar of Clearwater, FL; son, Gregory D. of Allamuchy, N.J.; daughter, Donna, and her husband, Andrew Renna, of Denville, N.J.; eight grandchildren, Bryan, Steven, Connor and Mackenzie Haar, and Daniel, Erik, Kelli and Mark O'Leary; sisters, Sara Kendall of Greencastle, Dorothy Casner of Lewistown and Catherine Mannino of Reedsville; brother, Robert Johnson of Lewistown, and many nieces and nephews.
Private services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 21st, 2003.
Max R. Hackedorn Sr.
Born Sept. 4, 1923, in Ickesburg, he was the son of the late Frank W. and Belva J. (Milliken) Hackedorn. His wife, Erma J. (Harman) Hackedorn, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Jean L. Startzman, Harrisburg, Max R. Hackedorn, Newport, and Phyllis I. Ryan, ID; grandchildren, Janina A. Long, Jason M. Startzman, Jennymae J. Welsh, Kimberlee M. Hackedorn, Leah A. Hackedorn, Max R. Hackedorn III, Jade I. Holloway and Ivy R. Holloway; and five great-grandchildren.
He was a World War II Army Air Force veteran, having served in the 719th, Bomb Squadron 449 Bomb Group.
He retired from the Holiday Inn, Harrisburg, as a mixologist.
He was a member of Christ Evangelica Lutheran Church, Linglestown, the Linglestown American Legion Post 272 and V.F.W. Post 148.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, horse racing and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Hoover Funeral Homes and Crematory Inc., 6011 Linglestown Rd, Harrisburg. Interment, with full military honors, will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank or Homeland Center of Harrisburg.
P. Stanley Hackenberry
Born May 14, 1917, in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late, Charles E. and Carrie (Getz) Hackenberry. His wife, Helen T. J. Richard Hackenberry, Summerville; a sister, Dorothea E. Hackenberry, Lewistown; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church. He was Burnham Borough Council Secretary for 10 years. Past Senior Counselor for U.C.T, President of Brotherhood Grace United Methodist Church, active in Boy Scouts and he was a First Aid instructor.
His funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Joseph A. Hagans Jr.
Born Feb. 4, 1934, in Mooresville, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Ethel M. (Reed) Hagans, Sr. His companion, Mary L. Filler, survives at 229 N. Derry Ave., Yeagertown.
Also surviving are: seven children, James Fountain, Rentz, GA, Joseph A. Hagans III, Coral Springs, FL, John M. Hagans, Lewistown, Jeffrey A. Hagans, Sandersville, GA, Mrs. Michael (Julie) Goodhue, Allentown, GA, Gerel L. Hagans, Adrian, GA, and Jason Rodgers, Dublin, GA; two sisters, Beulah Haney, and Mrs. John (Betty) Minter, both of Lewistown; a brother, Robert L. Hagans, Lewistown; and 21 grandchildren.

Harold M. 'Jiggs' Haines
Born on Aug. 15, 1926, in Maze, Delaware Township, he was a son of the late Lester C. and Geneva (Meredith) Haines. His wife, Wilma J. (Van Horn) Haines, whom he married on May 13, 1944, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Gary L. Haines, Duncannon; a daughter, Judy E. Watts, RR2 McAlisterville; two sisters, Thelma Cupp, RR2 Thompsontown and Shirley Eichman, Thompsontown; a step-father, Keemer Watts, RR1 Thompsontown; a half-brother, Larry Watts, New Oxford; a half-sister, Mary Gabbard, Thompsontown; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He attended school in Maze and Thompsontown and was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in the South Pacific in World War II.
In earlier life, he worked at the Van Dyke Brickworks, later he worked in the Tire Fabric Division of American Viscose Corp., Lewistown until retiring as a foreman from the Polyester Division of Avtex Fibers, Lewistown in 1989, after 49 years of service. After retiring, he worked part time for W.E. Schlegel Inc., East Salem.
He was a member of the East Salem United Methodist Church and had regularly attended the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church. He was also a member of the Juniata Rod and Gun Club, Potter County, Foreman's Club of the American Viscose Corp., Camp Rayona, American Legion and was a past member of the Mt. View Hunting Camp, Nook. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Good News Lutheran Brethren Church, RR2 McAlisterville, with Pastor Marshall A. Nessa officiating. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery, where full military Burial honors will be accorded by the Juniata County Veterans Council.
Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 7-9 p.m., at the McAlisterville Chapel of the Brown Funeral Homes, 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville.

J. Rachel Halbleib
Born Aug. 21, 1940, in Reedsville, she was a daughter of the late John E. and Jessamine S. (Moist) Harbst. Her husband, Gilbert R. Halbleib Jr., who she married June 24, 1960, survives.
Also surviving are a son, Richard L. Halbleib and his wife, Mary, of Alfred, ME; and a step-grandson, Nicholas Patton.

She was a manager of the gift shop at Kenosha Hospital, Kenosha, WI, 1989-1999. In her early life, she was employed by Bell Telephone, Camp Hill, 1965-1975.
She was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Lewistown.
She loved to bake and won several recipe awards from the Kenosha News. She loved to travel, and had visited many foreign countries with her husband. She was a humanitarian who cared deeply for the elderly and handicapped. She also loved to explore Pennsylvania's mountain roads with her husband.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Christine Trimble officiating. Interment will be in Mountain Cemetery, Spring Mills.
Family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

John F. 'Jack' Haley
Born Feb. 26, 1926, in New York, NY, he was a son of the late John F. and Hazel E. (Murdoch) Haley. His wife, Delores (Bowers) Haley, whom he married Dec. 24, 1976, survives.

He was an independent sales rep for Top Quality Chemical. He was later a salesman for Warner Lewis Buick and also was an insurance rep for Bill Dodd Insurance Agency.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre.
He was Lutheran by faith and a member of Lewistown Lodge #203 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, State College B.P.O.E. Lodge 1600 and VFW Post 7011.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., with Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no viewing but family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. A Masonic Service will be held at 10:45 a.m.

Anna Mae Hampton
Born Nov. 15, 1918, in Shawnee, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late John T. and Bessie (Smeltzer) Walls. Her husband, Charles I. Aida L. Harbst
Born Dec. 5, 1910, in Yeagertown, she was a daughter of the late Milton Warren and Gertrude (Swanger) Deamer. Her husband, Paul I. Harbst, whom she married Feb. 14, 1929, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Ellen) Kline, Reedsville; a son, Toby D. Harbst, Catasauqua; a sister, Doris Crawford, Reedsville; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral service will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Reedsville United Methodist Church, 60 E. Logan St., Reedsville with Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery.

He was born Jan. 21, 2003, in Huntingdon.

Born in Lewistown, he was a son of the late John and Eleanor (Stewart) Harlacher. His wife, JoAnn Seby Harlacher, whom he married in 1965, survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Margaret Ann and Elizabeth Ann Harlacher, both at home; and a sister, Sue Ann Rhodes of Delaware.
He graduated from Lewistown High School in 1957.
He worked for the Traffic Dept. at Standard Steel for 37 years.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam.
He was a member of International Supreme Council Order of DeMolay, American Legion Post #90, and United Steel Workers Union.
He was an avid Indian Valley girl's basketball and field hockey fan.
His funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. David W. Schmuck and Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery. Graveside military services will be by VFW Post 7011.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the funeral home.
