Born Oct. 20, 1917, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Daniel L. and Katie (Showers) Hartley. His wife, Florence (Wolfgang) Hartley, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Rodger Hartley, Washington, Donna LaRue Evans, Montrose, and Kerry Hartley, Oklahoma; five grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was a truckdriver for North American & Debts Co., retiring in 1980.

His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Charles M. Eldredge officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Jodi L. Hartsock
Born Feb. 12, 1962, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of R. Leon and Suzanne (Hoel) Grassmyer of 110 Franklin Ave., Lewistown.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Erin B. Hartsock, Lindsey M. Hartsock and Nikki K. Hartsock, all of Lewistown; and a brother, Michael J. Grassmyer, Chambersburg.
She was a Supervisor at Goss Candy Factory, Lewistown.
She was a 1980 graduate of Lewistown High School.
She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lewistown.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Private interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
Hoenstine Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Betty C. Haste
Born July 14, 1928, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Jeremiah and Tessie (Kline) Cherry. Her husband, Robin T. Haste, whom she married June 26, 1954, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Jeff T. Haste and wife Diane, Harrisburg; a daughter, Mrs. Jack (Alesia) Williamson, Coatesville; a brother, Jeremiah "Jack" Cherry, Lewistown; five grandchildren, John, Jeremy and Gena Haste, and Sarah and Annie Williamson; and a step-grandson, Josh Williamson.

She worked as a laboratory tech at American Viscose Corp. for 24 years, retiring in 1990.
She was a member of God's Missionary Church and Textile Worker's Union of America.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Kenneth Grove officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
There will be no public viewing, however, family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Marvin E. 'Gene' Haubert
Born Oct. 8, 1950, in Greenwood Twp., Juniata County, a son of the late Warren H. and Hazel L. (Dressler) Haubert, Sr. His wife, Diana K. Lauver, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, William E. Haubert, Landisburg, Tonia M. Pechart, Shermans Dale, and Melissa S. Haubert, Etters; six brothers and sisters, Warren A. Haubert, Jr., Richfield, Sandra Jamison, RR1 McAlisterville, Bonita Gay Beale, Chesapeake, Va, Joane K. Guyer, RR2 McAlisterville, Gerald Mike Haubert, RR2 Mifflintown, and David Scott Haubert, RR1 Thompsontown; and five grandchildren.
He was a 1970 graduate of East Juniata High School.
He was employed by the New Cumberland Army Depot, as a maintenance mechanic until his retirement after 32 years of service.
He was a United Brethren by faith.
He was a Vietnam War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1974.
He was a member of J.E. Bowen, Jr. Am Vets Post #122, Thompsontown.
He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, hunting, and working on cars.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc. 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Donald W. "Saint" Prye officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens, RR4 Mifflintown, where full military Burial honors will be conducted by Juniata County Veterans Council.
There will be no public viewing.
A visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the family present from 7-9 p.m.
Mark A. Haubrick
Born Feb. 26, 1958, in Lewistown, he was a son of John Haubrick Jr. and the late Vivian A. His wife, Barbara Williams Haubrick, whom he married in 1984, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Kayla Haubrick, at home; and a twin brother, Michael Haubrick of 177 W. Fourth St., Lewistown.
He was a retired welder having worked for the Lozier Corp. He loved to fish and make wooden toys.
His memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown with Rev. George Mark officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. There will be no viewing.

Zula R. Hazel
Born in Ingleby Haines Township, she was a daughter of the late Wilmer C. and Cora A. (Auman) Kerstetter. Her husband, Raymond E. Hazel Sr., who she married May 18, 1935, preceded her in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death on Jan. 27, 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Cynthia Z. Dashem of Millheim and her husband, Dean; a son, Raymond E. Hazel Jr. of Yeagertown and his wife, Elsie; a brother, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was a graduate of East Penn High School.
She was a homemaker and a surrogate mother to several families in Penns Valley
She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, Coburn, where she was a Sunday School teacher and a delegate on the church conference.
She was well-known for her quilt- and craft-making and she enjoyed camping with her family.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. today at St. James United Methodist Church, Coburn, with Rev. Dr. Virginia Rye officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Millheim.

Arlene E. Headings
Born Feb. 3, 1919, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Nora (Garrett) Burns. Her husband, Prestie M. They were married July 4, 1942 and enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

Headings, III, and wife Judy, of 115 Clover Ave., Yeagertown, and Mrs. George (Janice Headings) McCabe, Delaware, OH; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Janice) Pike, Vero Beach, FL; and two grandchildren, Jennifer Elaine Headings, 115 Clover Ave., Yeagertown, and Prestie M. "Skip" Headings, IV and wife, Nancy, 200 Clover Ave., Yeagertown.

Early in life she worked in the main office of American Viscose Corp. and was active in Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. She was also a leader in the Mifflin County Horse and Pony Club for five years.
She was a life long member of First United Methodist Church for 69 years and a member of the Silver Star Sunday School Class.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Third St., Lewistown, with Rev. David Schmuck, Karen McCachren and Rev. Clifford Miller officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the church.

Ross Hetric Headings
Born May 26, 1916, in Reedsville, he was a son of the late Harry M. and Helen Hetric Headings.
Surviving is: a sister, Patsy Ann Headings, State College.
He was a carpenter/craftsman for O.W. Houts for 38 years, until his retirement.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was a furniture maker.
His funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College with Rev. Robert M. A. L. Miller officiating. Interment will be in Reedsville Cemetery, Reedsville.
A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at funeral home.

Darwin C. 'Bucky' Heaps, Jr.
Born Sept. 2, 1917, in Mifflin, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Darwin C. and Marion (Wolf) Heaps, Sr. His wife, Wilma E. (Snouffer) Heaps, whom he married Aug. 29, 1959, survives.
Also surviving are: seven daughters, Gloria Swailes, Marilyn Schroeder, Russalee Yorks, all of Mifflintown, Wilma Miller, Roberta Keiser, both of Port Royal, Sonja Arentz, McCoysville, and Rebecca Kauffman, Lewistown; three sons, Dean Kinsloe, Port Royal, David Kinsloe, Mifflintown, and Eugene Ciccolini, Lewistown; a sister, Elizabeth Zook, Belleville; 35 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was a maintenance man for Empire Kosher, Inc., Mifflintown, until his retirement in 1970. Earlier in life he worked as a foreman for Penn Line, Scottsdale, as a lineman for Henkle-McCoy, York, a construction worker for Hoosier and Boughtenfield and was also a television and appliance repairman for Andy Zendt, Mifflin.
He was a member of the New Life Assembly of God Church, Mifflintown and a member of the Old Buzzard's Ham Radio Operators Club.
He enjoyed fishing and operating his CB radio.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Chip McCommons officiating. Interment will be in Union Memorial Gardens Cemetery, RR4 Mifflintown.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Helen F. Heath
Born Dec. 21, 1909, in Thompsontown, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late Charles I. and Maude (Beale) Forney. Her husband, John F. Surviving are: a son, J. Frederick Heath, Thompsontown; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown and was the oldest lifetime member of the church.
She was the past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Mifflin Chapter #260.
She was a 1927 graduate of Port Royal High School.
In earlier life, during World War II, she was employed by the Thompsontown Manufacturing Company, and was the head cook and manager of the Thompsontown Elementary School when it opened. She then became the executive housekeeper for Sausman Motor Inns, Ocean City, NJ, retiring Nov. 18, 1979, with 25 years of service.
Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown, with Rev. Louise Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service time Thursday at the church.
