Harold Jacobs
Born Oct. 29, 1922, in Beale Township, Juniata County, he was the son of the late Bruce and Estella (Harris) Jacobs.
Surviving are: a sister, Beatrice Junk, Locust Grove Retirement Village; three nieces, Gale Fultz, Carlisle, Naomi Jacobs and Mary Paxton, both of Honey Grove; two nephews, Richard Junk, Honey Grove and Donald Junk, Carlisle.

He was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Nook, the National Rifle Association and PA Farmers Association.
His funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove with Rev. Dennis R. Thompson Jr. officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Nook.
Family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Helen A. Jamison
Born Feb. 8, 1928, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Goldie R. (Sheaffer) Barton. She was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by her husband, Robert H. Jamison Jr., on May 17, 1978.
Surviving are: five daughters and two sons, Mrs. Donald (Anita L.) Bordner, Millersburg, Mrs. Dennis (Cathy) Dunkel, Lykens, Connie Comer, Slippery Rock, Donald Jamison, Lancaster, CA, Mrs. Ronald (Gale) Weldon, Middletown, Wendy Jamison, Virginia Beach, VA and David Jamison, Portsmouth, VA; one brother, Robert H. Barton, Middletown; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was a retired key punch operator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, with 30 years of service.
She was a 1945 graduate of Juniata Joint High School, Mifflintown.
She was a member of the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church, Academia and a committeewoman for AFSCME Sub Chapter 9001, Harrisburg.
Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Rex Funeral Home, 308 Market St., Port Royal, with Pastor Kenneth R. Kitzmiller officiating. Interment will be in the Lower Tuscarora Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Academia.
Friends may call from 10 am. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Helen Parker Jochum
Born Aug. 26, 1900, in Mifflintown, she was a daughter of the late Ezra Doty Parker and Rebecca Jane (Banks) Parker. Her husband, George Peter Jochum, preceded her in death.
Surviving are: two daughters, Jane Banks Graham Pemberton and husband John Pemberton, III, Amherst, Mass., and Helen Parker Graham Waugh and her husband, J. Stanley Waugh, Wellesley, Mass.; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is the last of her immediate family having been preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by her brother, E. Southard Parker.
Her education included Sidwell Friends School, Washington D.C., Mifflintown High School, Smith College and Radcliffe College.
She was a member of the Garden City Community Church, Garden City, NY. She was also the founder and past president of the Garden City Chapter of the American Association of University Women, a charter member of Chapter X, P.E.O., a member of the D.A.R., the Garden City Community Club, the Smith Club of Long Island, and the Harvard-Radcliffe Club of Long Island.
She was also the author of two books, Alaskan Journey, the story of her father's trip to Alaska in 1900 to assist in the opening of the first bank in Nome, Alaska during the rush for gold, and Recollections, short stories about her Banks ancestors, and she was also the author of several children's books.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown with Rev. Douglas H. Kelley officiating.
There will be no viewing.
Arrangements are being handled by the Mifflintown Chapel of the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.

Marie C. Jones
Born July 17, 1916, in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Richard Alexander and Lydia (Grumbine) Feathers. She was the faithful and loving wife of the late Charles "Chic" L. Jones, a loving mother to Mrs. Kenneth (Janice) Loudenslager and grandmother to Michael S. Loudenslager and wife Patricia of Belleville and Mrs. David (Mary Beth) Runk, Lewistown, as well to seven great-grandchildren.
Surviving are: a younger brother, Larry L. Feathers, Yeagertown, whom she lovingly helped raise; and three sisters-in-law, Emily, Susie and Ruth Jones, all of Lewistown, who formed an integral part of her life.
She worked in the Cake Converting Dept. of FMC. In later years she worked in the Dietary Dept. of Ohesson Manor until her retirement. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She loved to cross-stitch and sewed many tablecloths and pillowcases for her family. Marie also did crewel work pictures for each one of her grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her card club friends were the source of many enjoyable hours on Mondays and Thursdays. She will be extremely missed by her entire family.
She was first and foremost a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother not only in name, but in the truest and deepest meaning of those words.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Charles Sprenkle officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Winona G. Jones
Born Nov. 25, 1913, in Reedsville, she was a daughter of the late John Megriger (Pete) and Bessis Mae (Welfley) Bulick. Her husband, Orisan G. Surviving are: two sons, Roger Jones, Westville, NJ, and David Jones, Hyattsville, MD; and three grandchildren.

She was a retired secretary at Underwood Memorial Hospital.
She was a 1930 graduate from Belleville Vocation High School.
Her funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, from St. John's Lutheran Church, Belleville, with Rev. Rosalie Smith officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Belleville.
Friends may call from noon until the time of the service at the church.

Judith B. Kanagy
Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at the residence. Interment will be in White Hall Amish Cemetery.
There will be a viewing from noon - 9 p.m. Monday at the residence.

Dorothy R. Kane
Born July 28, 1919, in Dilltown, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Oly Wilson. She married Thomas J. Kane on Feb. 9, 1946, in York. She was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by her husband in 2000.
Surviving are: a son, Michael Kane, Ventura, CA; a daughter, Judith Herling, Spokane, WA; a brother, William Wilson, Lewistown; two sisters, Cleda M. Wright, Headland, AL and Bettie Graham, Winter Park, FL; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Lewistown High School in 1936. She worked for the Department of Corporations as a secretary in Los Angeles, CA. She retired in 1978 and moved to Walker, CA in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. She was the organist for many years at her church in Los Angeles.
She was an avid reader and liked to do crochet work. She enjoyed traveling to visit family and friends and attend her husband's 773 Tank Destroyer Battalion reunions. Most of all she loved the Lord, her family and the Sierras.
Russell R. Karschner Sr.
Born Sept. 27, 1919, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late, Clarence A. and Catherine (Kreider) Karschner. His wife, Gladys M. (Weaver) Karschner, whom he married Nov. 27, 1940, survives.
Also surviving are: four daughters, Catherine Ponish, Huntingdon, Freida Mathias, 29 Feeder Ave., Lewistown, Mrs. William (Shirley) Page, 229 8th Ave., Burnham, and Rebecca Hostetler, 8 Elm St., Lewistown; seven siblings, Harold C. Karschner, North East, MD, Norman Karschner, 31 Feeder Ave., Lewistown, Harvey Karschner, 123 Loop Rd., Lewistown, Marlin Karschner, Pennsdale, Freda Viola Sprout, 196 S. Main St., Lewistown, Mrs. Robert (Orpha) Anderson, and Mrs. Richard (Lorna) Smith, both of Mapleton; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Paintersville CMA Church and served on the governing board as an elder.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Paintersville CMA Church, with Rev. George H. Mark officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.

Mary P. 'Nanny' Katherman
Born March 1, 1914, in Springdale, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Theresa Pettruny. Her husband, Ralph T. Katherman, Sr., whom she married Nov. 28, 1971, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Martha Ann Forsythe Fisher and husband Larry, Lewistown; four step-children, Doris DiMatteo and husband Albert, and Nancy Mendenhall and husband James, all of Downingtown, Jo Anne Supplee, Coatesville, and Ralph T. Katherman, Jr., Downingtown; two sisters, Ann Wills and Pauline Nagy, Springdale; four grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lewistown.
She was an avid bowler who bowled for the shirt factory team. She loved life and her grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Grace Lawrence officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana.

Miriam I. Zettle Kauffman
Born Sept. 24, 1916, in Rittman, OH, she was a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Rhoda (Royer) Zettle. Her husband, Elmer L.
