Born March 28, 1946, in Mt. Union, he was a son of Chester A. Miller, Meadowview Manor, McVeytown, and the late Eunice I. (Esh) Miller. His wife, Donna M. (Rhodes) Miller, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Edward Miller, Thompsontown, Mrs. James (Marissa) Shimp, McVeytown, Rhonda Fisher, Lewistown; step-children, Clarence Young, Rosalie Knouse, and Keith Young, all of Lewistown, and Mrs. Danny (Julie) Sheriff, Mifflintown; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He served as a First Lieutenant for the McVeytown Fire Police and was a member of the McVeytown Lions Club, Friends of the Greenwood Furnace Park, and Teamsters Local #776. He was also an avid Nascar fan.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Donald E. Peters, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.

Caroline I. Milliken
Born June 6, 1910, in Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Hesser) Ronk. Her husband, Leigh H. She was employed at American Viscose Division of FMC Corp., for 43 years.
She was a Brethren by Faith.
Her funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Hoenstine Funeral Home Inc., 75 Logan St., Lewistown. Interment will be in Pine Glen Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ethel E. Mingle
Born July 22, 1911 in Locust Run, she was a daughter of the late Atkinson and Emma (Hibbs) Smith. Her husband, Gerald B. She is survived by one son, Gerald B. Mingle Jr., Tennessee; 2 sisters, Pauline Walters, Mifflintown RR4, Claire Foltz, Mifflintown RR3; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday at Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown with Rev. Clair Troutman officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Mifflintown.
There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home where Mifflin Chapter will conduct an Eastern Star service at 10:45 am.

Kathryn M. Mitchell
She was born October 16, 1918, in McClure, a daughter of the late John and Sadie (Weader) Snyder. Her first husband, William L. Her second husband, Clarence V. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon A. and Darvin Ort and Vickie M . and Jeff Seler, and a son, William L. "Billy" Peters, Jr., all of McClure; five grandchildren, Cindy, William III, Michael, Trevis, Tara, step-grandson, Robert; seven great-grandchildren, Forrest, Autumn, Cabrina, Carly, Cody, Kristijana and Brooke; two sisters, Ruth Fitchner, McClure and Margie Sanders, Middleburg and a brother Carmon Snyder, Sr. of McClure.

She cleaned for the former Nellis Industries for a number of years and was a seamstress for the former Standard Shirt Co. earlier in life. She was a life member of the American Legion Post 942 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as a Chaplain, Sergeant at arms, Historian and Vice President. She was a member of the 8 & 40, Northumberland and the McClure Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bingo, scrabble, gardening, canning, and spending time with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday in the McClure chapel of Aurand Funeral Homes, North Brown St., McClure by Rev. Beth Ann Stone. Interment will be in the McClure Union Cemetery. Friends man call in the funeral home Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. where the family will be present from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church McClure, PA 17841.
Owen T. 'Jake' Mitchell
Born Dec. 10, 1980, in Lewistown, he was the son of James F. Dyer, Siglerville and Tina (Mitchell) Swineford and step-father David D. Swineford of 1111 W. Seventh St., Lewistown.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Katlyn L. (Harvey) Mitchell, Sherman, WV; and a brother, David D. Swineford Jr., Lewistown.
He was a bus boy / cook at the Original Italian Pizza, Burnham for 2 years.
He was a member of Mifflin County Forest Fire Crew.
His funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel at Juniata Memorial Park with Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.

Raymond J. Moffett
Born June 19, 1934, in Robertsdale, he was a son of Catherine Semla Moffett, McVeytown and the late Gerald Moffett. His wife, Claudia M. (Menig) Moffett of Davenport, FL, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Raymond J. Moffett Jr., Fuquay-Varnia, NC; a daughter, Claudia M. McAvaney, Miramar, FL; a brother, Robert B. Moffett, Cape Coral, FL; seven sisters, Lorraine Moffett, McVeytown, Carol Shields, Mt. Union, Gloria Gearhart, Rose Wolf, Geraldine Rhodes, Betty Sollers, and Kim Sechrist, all of McVeytown; and five grandchildren.

Born April 10, 1933, in Flying Hills, he was a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Strock) Moore. His wife, Nancy W. Charles H. Moser
Born Dec. 21, 1941, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Helen (Moser) Ruble. His wife, Gloria J. (Wagner) Moser, whom he married Aug. 7, 1964, survives.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Lorann Green, McClure, Lisa Michelle Ruble, Mifflintown, and Shelly Keller, Virginia; a brother, James Harpster, Lewistown; and ten grandchildren.
He worked at Marlette Homes for 34 years, retiring in 1998.
Funeral services will be private. There will be no viewing. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Gladys P. Moyer
Born Oct. 10, 1919, in Burnham, she was a daughter of Guy and Mary (Hoar) Moyer.

She was a secretary at Standard Steel, Burnham, for 45 years, retiring in 1982.
Her graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Juniata Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewistown, with Rev. Howard Houtz officiating.

George David Moyle
He was a son of the late Walter J. and Helen E. Moyle of Lewistown. His wife, Judith (Hammond) Moyle, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Mandy Becich and husband, Dennis, of New Lenox, Il; Debbie Moyle of Glendale, AZ; George and wife, Patty, of New Lenox, IL; Ted and wife, Michelle, of Frankfort, IL; and Don and wife, Karen, of Huntersville, NC; sisters, Drucilla Eddy and husband, Gerald, and Pat Grassymer and husband, Don, all of Lewistown; brothers, Jack Moyle and wife, Kay, of Beavertown; Richard Moyle and wife, Gloria, of Lewistown; and Ed Moyle and wife, Sandy, of Harrisburg; and 10 grandchildren.
He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps in the Vietnam era.
He was a retired transportation foreman for Allis Chalmers and a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
Services were held Tuesday, Aug. 19, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Frankfort, IL. Interment was in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
Robert P. "Doc" Murdock
Born on March 29, 1965, in Trenton, N.J., he was the son of Reginald Murdock and Patricia Morton, who survive.
In 1998, he married Celena Jo (Sizer) Murdock, who survives.
Also surviving are: daughters, Serena R. Murdock, Lewistown, and Tamara A. Murdock, Quarkertown, PA; sister, Cynthia Murdock, Plymouth, PA; brothers, Reginald Murdock Jr. of CA and Kurt Murdock, Navy Petty Officer First Class, Norfolk, VA; and grandmother, Alma Miller, Lewistown.

He was a member of Grace Covenant Church, Lewistown. He was self-employed and the owner of Serene Roofing and Construction of Lewistown.
He loved racing, football, working, and, most of all, spending time with and taking care of his family.
He will be forever sadly missed and loved by all of his family and friends. He was a loving and wonderful husband and father who will live forever in our hearts.
His memorial services will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday at Grace Covenant Church, Washington Avenue, Lewistown, for family and friends. Pastor Danny will be speaking at the memorial.
He will be laid to rest at Mount Rock Cemetery, Spring Street, Lewistown, at 2 p.m. Sunday.
