Born Oct. 25, 1928, in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Helen M. (Dent) Olewine, and step-mother, Helen (Cochrane) Olewine, of East Freedom, survives. Her husband, Lewis C. Rhodes, whom she married Sept. 1, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Mrs. E. Parke (Cheryl D.) Brown, RD Northumberland, Kevin L. Rhodes, Bloomfield, NJ, and Michele C. Snyder, Secane; a brother, Walter T. Olewine, Altoona; and 11 grandchildren.

She was a registrar at Lewistown Hospital for 11 years, retiring Oct. 1993.

She was a Board Member for Child Evangelism Fellowship of Mifflin-Juniata-Perry Counties, more than 30 years.
Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown. Interment will be in Mausoleum of Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Kenneth Bruce 'Ken' Rhodes
Born and reared in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Jay R. and Anna (Kauffman) Rhodes. His wife, Gayle Bond Rhodes, survives in Headland.
Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy Press and her husband, Steve Press, and Ann Bottoms and her husband, Dwayne Bottoms and a son, Patrick Rhodes and his wife, Jayme Rhodes, all of Headland; five grandchildren, Josh and Zachary Press, Jacy Bottoms, and Britney and Brooke Rhodes; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Rhodes of Lewistown.

He moved to Headland, AL in 1977, where he was employed by American Brass Inc. He also lived in Chicago for several years, where he retired from R. Lavin and Son, returning to Headland in 1999.
He was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church and a life member of the Lewistown Elks Lodge. He was also affiliated with the Union Springs Baptist Church, near Newville, and was an avid golfer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, in the Union Springs Baptist Church, near Newville, with Rev. Teddy Ward and Brother Adolph Phares officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Sims, Franklin Swann, Jimmy Morris, Keith Murray, Gary Mattox and Joe Lane Hodges. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Union Springs Baptist Church Adult II Sunday School Class.
Doris I. Richard
Born Sept. 1, 1931, in Burnham, she was the daughter of Helen (Ridall) DeArment of Freedom Ave., Burnham and the late, Earl DeArment. Her husband, Don E. Richard, whom she married April 4, 1954, survives.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Diane Richard, First Ave., Burnham; and a brother, Warren DeArment, Virginia.

Early in life she worked at Noerr's Trucking and later at Burnham Hardware.
She was a member of Freedom Avenue United Methodist Church, the Mifflin County March of Dimes for 27 years, 7 years as Chapter Chairman.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Barr Funeral Home, Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with Rev. Larry Lutz officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Rock Cemetery.

Ethel J. Richardson
Born March 9, 1914, in Black Log Valley, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Mary (Buchanan) Parson. Surviving are: a son, Michael L. Richardson and wife Meri, Mifflintown; a daughter, Susie M. Bell and husband, Robert, RR3 Mifflintown; a sister, Irene Dugan, Blue Bell; four grandchildren, Rob and Greg Bell and Cade and Jana Richardson.

Her funeral service will be at noon Saturday from the Henry Funeral Home, Honey Grove, with Rev. David Gearhart officiating. Interment will be in McCoysville Cemetery.

Janet E. Riley
Born Nov. 30, 1916, in Mason City, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Eva (Wilson) Owens. Her husband, Clifford S. Her graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Lind Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Gerald Krum officiating.

Lloyd Lewis 'Shorty' Rinehart
Born May 27, 1924, he was a son of the late Albert and Nellie Rinehart. His wife of 30 years, Mary Grace Byler Ross Rinehart, a former resident of Belleville, survives.
Also surviving are his children, Charles W. Rinehart of Iowa City, IA,
Melvin L. Rinehart, of North Liberty, IA, Rocco E. Ross of St. Paul, MN, and Gina Ross Malbis of Orange Beach, AL; a sister, Mary Rinehart Herring of Osteen, FL; and two grandsons, Joseph and Jesse Ross.

He lived on the family farm in North Liberty, where he was chosen as outstanding young farmer by the Iowa City Area Junior Chamber of Commerce,and moved to Iowa City in 1961.
He was a 57-year member of several Masonic organizations including
serving as Worshipful Past Master of White Marble Lodge No. 238 A.F.A.M. in North Liberty, Past Worthy Patron of Jessamine Chapter #135 Order of Eastern Star and Past Watchman of Shepherds of Bethlehem Shrine #8 White Shrine of Jerusalem.
In 1985, as a business owner in Mobile, AL, the local Home Builder's
Association elected him Associate of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the organization. He had been a member of the Board of Directors.
For the past nine years, he was employed by Action Door Company as a sales consultant and also worked partime for Globe Aviation Services as a cart driver for the handicapped for Northwest Airlines at the Minneapolis/St. Paul Airport.
He was baptized in the North Liberty Methodist Church.
Private services at the convenience of the family will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery by Lensing Funeral Home, North Liberty, IA.
Arrangements have been entrusted to White Funeral Home of Lakeville, MN.
Lloyd was a blessing to all that knew him and will be surely missed by all.
Dorothy M. Risser
She was the widow of Roy W. Risser. Surviving are: two sons, R. Leslie and Samuel Risser; and a daughter, June Prichard.
Her funeral will at 11 a.m. Thursday at Richfield Mennonite Church. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Esther I. Ritchey

Paul M. Rittenhouse
Born Oct. 21, 1934, in Bratton Township, he was a son of the late Harry E. and Sylvia E. (Rebman) Rittenhouse Sr. His wife, Delores (Weaver) Rittenhouse, survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Teresa) Dalton, Lewistown, and Mrs. William (Joyce) Carolus, McVeytown; siblings, Gladys R. Bartlett, Simsbury, CT, Mrs. Glen (Helen J.) Espigh, McVeytown RD, James O. Rittenhouse, McVeytown RD, Mary M. Maxwell, Mattawana, Virginia R. Harshbarger, Lewistown RD, Mrs. Max (Hazel F.) Fisher, Lewistown, Charles L. Rittenhouse, Lewistown, RD; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

His funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 South Market St., McVeytown, with Rev. Donald E. Peters, Jr., officiating. Interment will be in Pine Glen Cemetery.
