Born Oct. 29, 1920, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Emanuel and Bessie (Gingher) Rowe. His wife, Valda (Henry) Rowe, whom he married Aug. 15, 1943, survives.
Also surviving are: two children, Stan Rowe and wife Debby, Davison, MI, and Sharon Amundson, McLean, VA; and three grandchildren, Sarah Amundson, Allan Rowe, and Kimber Spradlin.

He worked for the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1973 with 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre.
While in the Air Force he also served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force he and his wife lived for 20 years in Del City, OK. They have resided in Mifflin County since 1993.
He was a Methodist by faith.
His funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, First Ave., Burnham, with Rev. Bruce A. Hinderliter officiating. Interment will be private, at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Stella Marie Rowe
She was born May 24, 2003, at Holy Spirit Hospital, East Pennsboro Township.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by paternal grandparents, Virona and Gary Rowe Sr., Etters, and maternal grandparents, Sue Settle, Mifflintown, and George Settle Jr., New Cumberland.
Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland.
Friends may call from 6:30 p.m. until time of service.

C. Jane Rowles
Born August 22, 1923, in Union Mills, Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Catherine Fultz Rowles.
Surviving are: a son, Jeffrey "Lynn" Rowles and his wife Connie, Spring Mills and Catherine Smith, a niece whom Jane raised, RD 2 Huntingdon; two siblings, Mable Coder, Mill Creek, and Olive Murray, West Palm Beach, FL; three great-grandchildren, Angela Rowles, Joseph Rowles, and Teran Rowles; and two great-great-grandchildren, Casey Rowles and Kayle Rowles.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville, with Rev. Gerald Peachey officiating. Internment will be at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Rosa Royer

Surviving are: two sons, Dennis W. Royer and wife Susan, rural Spring Mills and Gary Royer and wife Donna, Bellefonte; two sisters, Hermine Schlecht and Zenta Weismuller, both of Germany; a brother, Hans Schlecht, Germany; four grandchildren, Brian, Brady, and Andrea Royer and Kerri Kubalak; and six great-grandchildren.

She was a devoted member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmers Mills. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and gardening.
Her funeral service will be at noon Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Farmers Mills, with Rev. N. Gregory Van Dyke officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Union Cemetery, Farmers Mills.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the church.

Irene M. Ruble
Born April 9, 1925, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late James and Melinda (Kauffman) Wills. Her husband, Merle C. Ruble, survives.
Also surviving are: two daughters, Deborah L. Pomeroy, Mechanicsburg, and Denise M. Ruble, Hershey; a sister, Marjorie Rhen, Hummelstown; a brother, Samuel B. Wills, Dublin, CA; two grandsons, Christopher L. Stine, New Hampshire, and Ethan M. Ruble, Hershey; two great-grandsons, Samuel L. Stine, and Benjamin M. Stine; and a great-granddaughter, Annabelle Stine.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stone and Murray Funeral Home, New Cumberland, with Rev. Tim F. Roach officiating. Interment will be in Rolling Green Memorial Park.
There will be a viewing one hour before the service.

John Edward 'Ed' Rudy
Born Nov. 3, 1918, in Saulsburg, he was a son of the late James Isaac and Mary Leah (Harman) Rudy. His wife, Beatrice June (Peoples), whom he married on June 16, 1938, of RD1 Box 716, Petersburg, survives.
Also surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. Mary A. Alterio, Bellefonte, Mrs. Donald Myra A. Walters, Milroy, and Ms. Edith G. Rudy, Petersburg RD1; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Frances Walters, McAlevys Fort and Mrs. Gladys Oakes, Belleville; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator in Construction, retiring Feb. 7, 1977.
He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Altoona, the Huntingdon American Legion, and the White Presbyterian Church, McAlevy's Fort.
He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
His funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family at Baggus Funeral Home, Belleville with Rev. Jolene Willis officiating. Interment will be in Greenlee Cemetery, McAlevy's Fort.
Joseph W. Rupe Sr.
Born July 7, 1926, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Joseph S. and Mabel A. (Shore) Rupe. Surviving are: a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W. and Susan Y. Rupe, Hummelstown; and a grandson, Christopher K. Rupe, Hummelstown.
He had been in failing health for nearly two years. He had resided with his son and family in the Hummelstown area for over a year.
He worked at American Viscose Corp., Lewistown and the LeMac Foundry in Decatur Township until both facilities closed. He retired as a shift supervisor at Mifflin County Jail in 1988.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Clerk Company with the 27th Infantry Division in the Asian-Pacific Theater until he was honorably discharged Oct. 1, 1946.
He received his honorary high school diploma from Lewistown Area High School in June 2001.
His viewing will be held 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Green Ave., Extended, Lewistown, PA 17044.
Berley A. 'Bud' Rupert
Born June 12, 1915, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Samuel A. and Mary (Craine) Rupert, who resided in Huntingdon. His second wife, Margaret C. He retired from Dinear Co., Spun Steel Division, in 1980, after 32 years of service. He had formerly been employed by Leopold Chevrolet, Lewistown.
His funeral service was held Jan. 9 in Canton, OH, with Pastor John L. Moosey officiating. Interment was in Sunset Hills Burial Park, Canton, OH.
Kathryn M. Rush
Born Dec. 28, 1918, in McClay Mills, she was a daughter of the late Harry G. and Grace M. (Tice) Metzger. Her husband, Donald W. Mary Agnes P. Russ
Mary was born April 4, 1916 in Lewistown where she resided until 1979. She was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Shilling) Pacini. Mrs. Russ is predeceased by her husband, Dr. Carl T. Russ and daughter, Gina Steele.
She is survived by her son, Michael Russ and his fiancee, Mary Lutter, of Virginia Beach; sister, Col. Ruth P. Satterfield (ret.) of El Paso, TX; brother, Paul J. Pacini of Kingston, NY; grandchildren, Amy (Steele) Miller, John Steele, Tony Russ, Christina Russ, Angela Russ, and Nicole Russ.
Mrs. Russ was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. During World War II, Mary contributed to the war effort by testing instrumentation for tanks. She was a dedicated wife and mother and volunteered at her church, in her children's schools as well as many other organizations including: the Boy Scouts, the Untied Way, the Blood Mobile, and the American Cancer Society.
A memorial Mass will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 1, 2003 at Church of the Ascension, Virginia Beach, VA. Interment will be in the Memorial Garden at St. Raphael's Parish in Englewood, Florida March 4, 2003.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, PA 17044, or the Alzheimers Association / Hampton Roads Chapter, 20 Interstate Corporate Center, Suite 233, Norfolk, VA 23502.
Thomas Russo
Born in Chester, he was a life long resident of Boothwyn. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by his wife, Mary Fecondo Russo in Dec. 1968.
Surviving are: three daughters, Rita L. Smith, Milton, DE, Rose M. Rybak, and Lucy M. Russo, both of Boothwyn; a son, Thomas M. Russo, Vineland, NJ; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was employed by Nason Cullen Inc., Philadelphia, as a project manager of major construction projects. He retired from Nason Cullen Inc., in 1984 after 32 years of service.
During World War II he was employed by Sun Ship Building as a supervisor, and he was also in The Civilian Construction Corps, Mt. Union, responsible for the construction of roads and parks.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Marcus Hook, the International Brotherhood of Carpenters Union Local 845 Delaware County Chapter, and Brooklyn Hose Co. #3, Lewistown.
Mr. Russo along with his children and grandchildren built a hunting lodge in Lewistown, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a self-educated man who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception of Lourdes Catholic Church, 8th and Green Streets, Marcus Hook. Interment will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery, Upper Chichester.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ward Funeral Home, 1459 Market St., Linwood.
Memorials may be sent in his name to the church above.
