Born March 28, 1928, in Freeburg, he was the son of the late Henry and Catherine (Walter) Steffen. His wife, the former Jean Fultz, who he married Aug. 12, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Ruth A. Snook and husband, Wayne, and Tamra E. Steffen, all of RR2 McClure; three grandsons who he raised, Troy, Travis and Todd Paige; five additional grandchildren, Valerie Snook, Brian, Amy, Cory and Shawna Steffen; five great-grandchildren, Madisen, Logan, Brooke, Jenna and Rayna; and one sister, Gladys Comfort of Freeburg.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Hemp Bros. Construction, Camp Hill, for 41 years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Beaver Springs Ambulance League.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Christ Church, Beaver Springs, with Rev. David Meckley officiating.
There will be no viewing.

Hilda B. 'Wanda' Steffen
Born Sept. 6, 1922, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Walter R. and Hilda (Brandt) Barnes. Her husband, James E. Steffen, whom she married Nov. 30, 1946, survives.
Also surviving are: four children, James J. Steffen, Kingsport, TN, Gregory L. Steffen, Salt Lake City, Utah, Carlton B. Steffen, Milwaukee, WI, and Judy K. Ganoe, Yeagertown; a brother, Jack Barnes, Milroy; and 11 grandchildren.

She graduated from Yeagertown High School, Class of 1940.
She was a homemaker. Early in life she worked at Bell of Pennsylvania as an evening chief operator supervisor.
She was a member of Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham with Rev. James Barnes officiating. Interment will be in Thompsontown Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home.
Lola L. Steinbach
Born Jan. 6, 1915, in Slovakia, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Adele (Sussman) Grun. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Nancy) Thompson, Lorton, VA and Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Lebonitte of Fairfax Station, VA; and three grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Ohev Shalom Synagogue and was a life member of Hadassah.
She came to the U.S. in 1939, working in the garment industry in New York City. She married Mr. Steinbach in 1946 and moved to Lewistown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rabbi Kennard Lipman officiating. Interment will be in Ohev Shalom Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.

Edward H. Stephens
Born Sept. 14, 1949, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late James and Eleanor (Shields) Stephens. His wife, Desiree, survives.
Also surviving are: four children, Joseph E. Stephens, Huntingdon, Courtney, Danelle, and Elizabeth M. Stephens, all of Morrisville; two sisters, Virginia Stephens and Bonnie Mackneer, both of Lewistown; a brother, James P. Stephens, Dillsburg; and two grandchildren.
He was a 1967 graduate of Chief Logan High School and a 1971 graduate of Penn State University, where he participated in the ROTC program.
He was a roofer by trade. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Ranger. He was a Christian by faith.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Parkview Church of the Brethren with Rev. Michael Manthos officiating.

Charles E. 'Chuck' Stewart
Born Feb. 20, 1928, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Frank and Margaret (Hack) Stewart. His wife, Helen (Benfer) Stewart, whom he married June 29, 1950, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Edward C. and wife Diane Stewart, Lewistown; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew (Leslie) Elder, Pleasant Gap; a brother, Walter "Elwood" Stewart, McClure; and four grandchildren, Richard C. and Joseph E. Stewart, and Seth A. and Mary Kaitlyn Elder.
His greatest joy in life was watching his grandsons-Rich and Joe-play Lewistown football, basketball, and baseball. He was and avid Panther fan. He also enjoyed traveling to Pleasant Gap to watch his grandson, Seth, and granddaughter, Mary Kaitlyn, play youth soccer, basketball and baseball.

Early in life he was employed at American Viscose Corp., then as a salesman for Liggett/Myers, Riverside Wholesale and last employed as a security guard at Sanyo, Reedsville.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He attended St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
He was a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #663, and Fame, Brooklyn and City Hook and Ladder Fire Companies.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 120 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Gerald A. Krum officiating.
There will be no public viewing. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday in the parlor of the church.

Brice D. 'Duke' Stimely Jr.
Born Aug. 6, 1961, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Brice D. and Eleanor (Andrews) Stimely Sr. His wife, Susan (Clark) Stimely, whom he married April 16, 1988, survives.
Also surviving is: a daughter, Nicolette J. Stimely, at home.
He was a 1979 graduate of Lewistown Area High School.
He was employed as a lieutenant at the Mifflin County Correctional Facility for 16 years.
He was a member of the McVeytown Presbyterian Church and he was an avid sports fan and hunter.
His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the McVeytown Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeanette Mater officiating. Interment will be in Mattawana Cemetery, McVeytown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Harshbarger funeral home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown.

Clarence E. 'Chub' Stine
Born Dec. 18, 1942, in Derry Township, he was the son of the late Clarence A. and Verna (Wagner) Stine.
Surviving are: four children, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Habbershon, and Raymond E. Stine, both of Lewistown, Mrs. Jorn (Bonnie) Junod, Granville, and Mrs. Todd (Teresa) Gross, Long Island, NY; a sister, Mrs. Michael (Sherry) Gilkey, Lewis-town; and 12 grandchildren.
Early in life he worked at American Viscose Corp., Lewistown. Later at Lewistown Speciality Yarns for over 27 years. His last employment was with Overhead Door Corp., Lewistown.
He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Burnham. He was also a member of the Finance Committee of the church, a church usher, and very active in church functions.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Fellowship Baptist Church, 22 Windmill Hill Road, Burnham, with Rev. Tony Ramos officiating. Interment will be in Maitland Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Lewistown.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today at Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, First Ave., Burnham and from 10 a.m. until the service time Wednesday at the church.

Mildred Evelyn Stricker
Born Nov. 28, 1914, in Yeagertown, she was a daughter of the late Charles Franklin and Mary Hanna (Snook) Musser. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, Yeagertown with Rev. Philip C. Tundel and Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating. Interment will be in Yeagertown Lutheran Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church.

Andrew G. Stringer
Born Dec. 6, 1971, in Bethesda, MD, he was a son of William H. Stringer and step-mother, Faith (Leahy) Stringer of McVeytown and Angela (Merrington) Stringer and her companion, Larry Benner of Reedsville. His fiancee, Heather Rhodes of Lewistown, survives.
Also surviving are: three step-children, Jared Wagner, Siglerville, Nichole Wagner, West Palm Beach, FL, and Tara Lehman, Northumberland; a brother, Matthew Stringer and his fiancee Becki Shilling, Mattawana; a sister, Tamara Stringer Bowersox, Burnham; two step-brothers, Kevin Bowersox, Yeagertown and Korey Bowersox, McVeytown; five nephews, three nieces, and his dog, Riley.
He was a graduate of Diesel Institute, Grantsville, MD.
He was a Maintenance Mechanic at Lear Corp. in Lewistown from 2000 to present. Earlier he had worked for Big Valley Repair in Belleville and Robert P. Lepley Electric in Lewistown.
He was a member of Calvary Bible Church. Andrew loved the great outdoors. He had a deep appreciation for nature. His favorite place was "A Thousand Steps" in Huntingdon. He recently fulfilled his lifelong dream of sight-seeing in Colorado with Heather. He was devoted to his family. Andrew was a loving son and a fantastic brother. He was to be married on Aug. 30, 2003 to the love of his life. He would go out of his way to help others in need whenever he could. He also loved music, photography and playing with his dog, Riley. Andrew loved to cook and come up with creative recipes of his own.
His funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Howard Houtz officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
