Born Oct. 7, 1939, in Van Dyke, to the late Paul E. and Janet "Orris" Leister. Her husband, Paul E. Troutman, survives.
Also surviving are: a son, Carl R. Earnest, Duncannon; five daughters, Jeanne Shull, Newport, Deborah Earnest, Millerstown, Wendy Howell, Newport, Susan Bernecky, New Bloomfield, and Tammy Troutman, Elliotsburg; four step-sons, Dave Troutman, and Pete Troutman, both of Newport, Richard Troutman, Duncannon, and Barry Troutman, Newport; four brothers, Wayne Leister, Lewistown, Ronald Leister, and Melvin Leister, both of Thompsontown, and Terry Leister, Port Royal; a sister, Dorothy Walters, Marysville; 15 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Myers Funeral Home, Newport with Rev. Donald Firestone officiating. Interment will be in Newport Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home.

Merle F. 'Moe' Truscott
Born Sept. 1, 1926, in Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Homer C. and Edith M. (Kelley) Truscott. His wife, Aggie J. (Brought) Truscott, whom he married May 7, 1994, survives. His first wife, Mary K. (Miller) Truscott, preceded him in death.
Surviving are: three children, Michael H. Truscott, Mrs. Bruce (Lori) Haase, and Amber J. Truscott, all of Lewistown; two step-children, Heather N. Miller, Lewistown and James R. Miller, Milroy; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Kelly Haase.

He was a self-employed truck driver, retiring in 1995.

He was a member of Ryde United Methodist Church.
Early in life, he worked for and later operated Homer C. Truscott Coal Business.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Rock Cemetery with military rites conducted by VFW Post 7011.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
Robert M. Vanalman
Born Nov. 8, 1919, in Burnham, he was a son of the late Edward S. and Bertha G. (Crawford) Vanalman. His wife, Cora H. Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Steven M. (Cathy) Hite, Lewistown, and Betsy Vanalman, Mason, Ohio; three grandchildren, Carly Lynch and husband Shawn, and Brock Hite and Christy McCready; and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Lynch.

He loved to golf and was a member of the Lewistown Country Club.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Jacob T. Traxler officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Lois E. VanArt
Born April 12, 1921, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Frank W. and Dorothy (Wolfkill) Kuppel. Her husband, Ralph L. "Pete" VanArt, preceded her in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death in 1982.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stewart (Lisa) Snyder of Matthews, NC; two sisters, Frances Dolin and Phyllis McClenahen, both of Lewistown; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

By her own wishes, no funeral services will be held. Interment will be in Birch Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Barr Funeral Home Inc., 120 Logan St., Lewistown.
Grace P. Van Horn
Born Sept. 7, 1910, in Milton, Northumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Wilson A. and Abigail S. (Garman) Hornberger. Her husband, Cochran N. Van Horn, whom she married on Oct. 26, 1926, preceded her in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death on Sept. 9, 1975.
She is survived by: her children, Geraldine Lukens and husband, Kenneth, RD1 Thompsontown, Harry W. "Bud" Van Horn and wife, Doloris, RD1 Thompsontown, Fayne Wible and husband, Richard, RD1 Thompsontown, Audrey Orwig and husband, James, RR1 Mifflintown, Doris Jean Bardell and husband, Robert, Manheim; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the East Salem United Methodist Church, RR2 Mifflintown, with the Rev. JoAnn Darrow officiating. Interment will follow in the East Salem Cemetery.
Friends may call 4-9 p.m. Sunday at the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, where the family will be present 7-9 p.m.

Donald R. Van Horne
Born July 4, 1946, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Ira Blaine and Dorothy (Fleming) Van Horne. His wife, Cheryl (Beaver) Van Horne, whom he married Oct. 29, 1966, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Mrs. Charles (Carrie) Besch, Dawn M. Van Horne and Gary L. Van Horn and his wife, Nicole, all of Lewistown; a sister, Helen Weyandt, Olympia, WA; a brother, Larry E. Van Horne, Lewistown; three grandchildren, Hanna and Michael Van Horne and Allison Besch.

He was a member of United Steelworkers of America Local 1940 and a held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and was a former instructor.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Christina Trimble and Rev. Ralph Wilson officiating. Private interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the charity of one's choice.

Frances M. VanScyoc
Born April 1, 1918, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Daisy (Henry) Shatzer. Her husband, J. Vincent VanScyoc, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died 1992.

She was a Protestant by faith. She attended First United Methodist Church, Maple Grove Mennonite Church and Trinity United Methodist Church.
Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Theodore Janke officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park.
Family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until the service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Donald C. Varner
Born Sept. 28, 1933, in McAlisterville, he was the son of the late Lee W. and Mary (Mahlin) Varner. He was also preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by his step-mother, Blanche (Arnold) Varner. His wife, Greta (Turbett) Varner, survives.
Also surviving are: children Michael D. Varner, Carlisle, and Susan J. Stottle and Eva M. Stong, both of Mifflintown; siblings Leona Fultz, Sam Varner and Gary Varner, all of McAlisterville, Ruth Ferster, Mifflintown, and Faye Boaz, McVeytown; and six grandchildren.
He has worked at the Point Service Station in Port Royal and was a custodian at the Fermanagh-Mifflintown Elementary School.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at the Guss Funeral Home, 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

Elsie R. Varner
Born Feb. 27, 1908, in Fermanagh Township, Juniata County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary (Rapp) Stidinger. Her husband, Merrill W. Her funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Rev. Douglas Compton officiating. Interment will be in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.

John J. Varner
Born July 6, 1914, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, he was a son of the late Phillip C. and Ida (Wagner) Varner. His wife, Leona I. His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the McAlisterville Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 16 Westfall St., McAlisterville, with Rev. Ronald E. Landis and Rev. C. Richard Beach officiating. Interment will be in Goodwill Cemetery, RR1 McAlisterville.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family present from 7-9 p.m.
