A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 3, from St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Bernard Oniwe officiating. Interment will follow in Union Memorial Gardens Cemetery, R.R. 4, Mifflintown.
Duane H. Gartland

He was a son of the late Raymond and Edna (Alexander) Gartland. He was married to Dorothy Helen Claycomb.
He is survived by: children, Gary Gartland of Cedar Crest, Pa., Mrs. Bonnie Getz of Mapleton Depot, and Joyce Gartland of Newton Hamilton; stepchildren, Harold Claycomb, and Mrs. Carol Bowers, both of Altoona; siblings, Adrian Gartland of Three Springs, Elizabeth Guthrie of Mississippi, and Jo Ella Smith of McVeytown; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

He liked to travel and hunt. He visited Alaska and Europe and had hunted in Canada, Wyoming and West Virginia.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Born April 16, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Sarah Sophia (Sones) Fink. Her husband, Maurice S. She is survived by: daughter Patricia G. Shaw and husband Robert of Reedsville; niece Donna Lockett of McAlisterville, whom she raised; siblings, Nancy Henry of Reedsville, Margaret Jones, Mildred Naylor, both of Lewistown, and Richard Fink of Burnham; granddaughters, Robin Cain and Tracey Boyer; and great-grandchildren, Brandon and Amanda Kline, and Caitlyn and Rebecca Boyer.

Her funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, at the Reedsville Evangelical Lutheran Church, East Logan and Pearl streets, with Rev. Kenneth Longfield officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville. There will be no public viewing.

Dorothy A. Yoder
BELLEVILLE – Dorothy A. Yoder, 68, formerly of McVeytown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Valley View Retirement Community in Belleville.
Born March 10, 1936, in Mattawana, she was the daughter of the late Milo M. and Mary K. (King) Yoder.
Surviving are: two sisters, Kathryn M. Yoder, McVeytown, and Mrs. Thomas (Julia G.) Kauffman, Harrisonburg, Va.; and three brothers, Robert B. Yoder, Martinsburg, M. Leon Yoder, Lewistown RD, and Theodore P. Yoder, Belleville.

A Registered Nurse, she was a graduate of the Polyclinic School of Nursing in Harrisburg. She was a former director of the Mifflin-Juniata Community Nursing Service in Lewistown for seven years, worked three years in Nicaragua with the Conservative Mennonite Missions Board, was a public health nurse in Manchester, Ky., and also worked at Lewistown Hospital. She retired as Director of Nursing from Valley View Retirement Community.
She was a member of the Mattawana Mennonite Church, the Golden Rule Sunday School Class, the American Nursing Association and Pennsylvania Nurses Association, and was a former board member of the Pennsylvania Heart and Lung Association.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at Valley View Retirement Community’s Oakwood Chapel, with the Rev. Galen Sharp officiating.
In accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to the Humanity Gifts Registry. Private Interment will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery in Mattawana at a later time.

MIFFLINTOWN – Edna C. Born May 24, 1908, in Prince George County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Wellington and Vinnie May (Coleman) Goss. Her husband, Ralph I. Surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. Carl (Ralphetta) Schlegel, Sandra Summers, both of Thompsontown, Arlene Carter, Kan., and Mrs. Leon (Iris) Wilson, Manheim; three sons, Charles “Bob Weiand and wife Joann, Fred Weiand and wife Arlene, both of Thompsontown, and Gary Weiand and wife Carleen, Maitland; three sisters, Mrytle Shirk, Madalene Shirk, and Audrey Berube, all of Milroy; 16 grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Rex Funeral Home, Port Royal.

Anna Mary Stone

Born Nov. 2, 1914 in Granville, she was the daughter of the late James M. Hess and Harriet M. (Bender) Hess Foreman. Her husband, James D. She is survived by: son, H. Darrel Stone and wife Jacqueline of Lancaster; half-sister, Elizabeth Benner of Lewistown; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann and husband Peter Eichman, Craig Stone and wife Brenda, Christopher Stone and wife Andrea; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
Early in life, she was employed in the reeling room of the tire fabric department of the American Viscose Corporation. She was later employed at G.C. Murphy Company for nine years, retiring in 1976.
She was a member of the Rhodes Memorial United Methodist Church.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Mount Rock Cemetery with Rev. Karen McCachren officiating. There will be no public viewing.

K. Louise Parks
MOUNT UNION – K. Louise Parks, 78, P.O. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.on Friday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union.

Shannon M. Ruby

Born Dec. 6, 1979, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ronald R. Ruby Jr. of Huntingdon and Juanita Beatty of Jacksonville, Fla. Her fiance, Eric Bailey also survives.
In addition to her parents and fiance, she is survived by: siblings, Christopher Ruby of Cleveland, Desire Gomez of Jacksonville, Jessica and Jerrica Begley of Huntingdon and cousin Dustin S. Kauffman of Lewistown, whom she thought of as her brother; grandparents Dennis and Janie Felton of Jacks Creek, Ron Ruby Sr. of Mapleton, and Mary and Sam Kauffman Jr., who raised her; aunts, Glenda Kauffman, Carolyn Corbin, Jeannie McCardle and Robin Lance; godchildren, Melissa and Michael Huntsman; and nine cousins.

Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, at Trinity Assembly of God Church, 2411 Cassady Ave., Huntingdon, with Pastor Gregory S. Lloyd officiating. Interment will be in Bowmans Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call 11 a.m. until time of service at the church on Thursday.

Keith D. Fetterhoof

Born June 4, 1958, in Lock Haven, he was a son of the late Lena B. (McCloskey) Hassinger and his father. His wife, Teresa A. (Stewart) Fetterhoof, whom he married June 18, 1994, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Keith D. Fetterhoof Jr., Derek E. Clark, both at home, and Kevin Clark of Great Falls, Mont.; siblings, George L. Fetterhoof of Yeagertown, Garry E. Fetterhoof of McClure, Kevin L. Fetterhoof of Port Royal, and Debra E. Hill of Middleburg; grandson Zachary Clark; and a future grandchild.
He was a 1976 graduate of Kishacoquillas High School and employed as a maintenance manager at Empire Kosher, Mifflintown.
He enjoyed riding motorcycles and helping his family.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Heller-Hoenstine Funeral Home, Inc., 108 First Ave., Burnham, with the Rev. Kenneth L. Grove officiating. Interment will be in Schenck’s Cemetery, Howard, PA. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
Elizabeth W. Tate
