Born July 18, 1919, in Cuba Mills, he was a son of the late F.A. and Elizabeth Britcher. His wife, Virginia E. (Maines) Britcher, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died on Feb. 7, 2003.
He is survived by one son, David J. Britcher, RR 1, Mifflintown; two grandchildren, David J. Britcher II and wife Jen, and Rachel E. Britcher; siblings, Alma Fry and Amie Weiand, both of Pottstown, Hazel Rickenbaugh, McAlisterville, Jane Cleck and Thomas Britcher, both of Mifflintown.
He was a livestock dealer for many years.
He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Union Lodge No. 324 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Zembo Shrine, Selinsgrove Moose and East Derry Fire Co. He enjoyed baseball and working with his cattle, and he treasured his wife, son, grandson and granddaughter.
The funeral will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
The family will provide all funeral flowers and requests that memorial contributions be made to Messiah Lutheran Church, 3 S. Third St., Mifflintown, PA 17059.

Paul I. Harbst
REEDSVILLE - Paul I. He was born June 23, 1909, in Lewistown, a son of the late Clarence and Anna D. (Burns) Harbst. His wife, Aida L. Surviving are a daughter, Ellen 'Polly' Kline and husband Charles, Reedsville; a son, Toby D. Harbst and wife Charlotte, Catasauqua; a sister, Kathleen Goss, Reedsville; a half sister, Jane Burns Schranz, Wilmington, Del.; six grandchildren, Lee E. Kline and wife Brenda, Paul A. Kline and wife Melissa, Teena Stryker and husband Brian, Deanna Diven and husband Clair Jr., Wendy Ferguson and husband Sean, and James Harbst; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson, Harley W. Stryker.

He was employed as a machinist first at Standard Steel and then at American Viscose, Lewistown, retiring from Viscose in 1972 after 26 years of service.
He was a member of Reedsville United Methodist Church, where he was both a Sunday school teacher and superintendent, the Blue Rock Sportsmens Club, and Milroy Senior Citizens. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing and bicycle riding, but most of all, he loved his family.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at the Reedsville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Richard J. Bender officiating. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Reedsville.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Reedsville United Methodist Church, or Valley View Retirement Community, Belleville.
George G. 'Pudge' Gross
MIFFLINTOWN - George G. 'Pudge' Gross, 83, of Brookline Manor, RR 1, Mifflintown, and formerly of Thompsontown, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2005, at the manor.
He was born Sept. 29, 1921, in Thompsontown, the son of the late Frank D. and Elizabeth (Brubaker) Gross. His wife of nearly 53 years, Marian K. (Kauffman) Gross, whom he married on May 24, 1952, survives.
In addition to his wife, also surviving are: two sons, Fredrick M. Gross and wife Jeanette, RR 3, Mifflintown, and George S. Gross and wife Nancy, Liverpool; two daughters, Linda S. Roth and husband the Rev. James Roth, Manheim, and Sheila M. Croak and husband John, Hummelstown; a brother, Merrill M. Gross, Mount Wolf; and five grandsons, Matthew G. Gross, Jason P. Gross, Geoffrey S. Gross, Patrick R. Roth and Erik J. Roth.

He was a 1939 graduate of Thompsontown High School.

He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Thompsontown, and a past president and member of Refrigeration Service Engineers Society and Elks Lodge 663, Lewistown.
He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, gardening and making maple syrup and loved everything about nature.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Mifflintown Chapel of Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown, with Pastor Louise A. Knotts and Intern Pastor Chris D. Mathiason officiating. Interment will follow in Westminster Presbyterian Cemetery, Mifflintown.
Viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Evelyn K. Miller
REEDSVILLE - Evelyn K. She was born Sept. 23, 1930, in Lewistown, the daughter of the late Howard D. and Retta (Sexton) Kephart. Her husband, Charles A. 'Fred' Miller, whom she married June 6, 1953, survives.
Also surviving are: children, Milton A. Miller, Altoona, and Mark A. Miller, Reedsville; and a grandchild, Rachael C. Miller.
She was the last of her immediate family, having been preceded in Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">death by a brother, James H. Kephart.
Earlier in life, she was employed as a secretary at the engineering office of Standard Steel. Later, she was a secretary at the First National Bank of Lewistown. She was a member of Burnham United Methodist Church, Walnut Street.
Her private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at Bohn Funeral Home, Reedsville, With Pastor Larry Lutz officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark's Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
Raymond E. Billett
INDIAN LAKE, Texas - Raymond E. Billett, 79, entered into the eternal kingdom of Christ on Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Valley Regional Medical Center, Brownsville, Texas.
Born in Burnham, he was a son of the late Clarence and Sally (Stringer) Billett. His wife, Joan, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sister, Alma Jean Jentsch, and her husband, Max.

Steven C. Strauss

He was employed by Marlette Homes, Lewistown, and LiBrandis, Carlisle.
He was a member of the Touring Friends motorcycle club.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Pastor George S. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
The viewing will be held from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Christine H. Strauss

She worked for LiBrandis, Carlisle, and as a laborer for Wal-Mart.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bohn Funeral Home, 55 N. Main St., Reedsville, with Pastor George S. Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.
The viewing will be held from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
Hazel (Reed) Mohr

She was a graduate of Lewistown High School and retired from the Selective Service, Lewistown office.

Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
Cleda Merl Wright
HEADLAND, Ala. - Cleda Merl Wilson Wright, a resident of Headland, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch">died early Monday morning, March 7, 2005, at the home of her daughter, Wilma Rhodes Marshall. She was 92.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the First Church of the Brethren, Shaw Avenue, Lewistown, with Pastor Douglas Sherlock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Headland United Methodist Church Building Fund, 103 W. King Street, Headland, AL 36345.
Stella Moad
LEWISTOWN - Stella Moad, 96, of Lewistown was welcomed into the Communion of Saints on Feb. 6, 2005.
Stella was born in Gallitzin, PA on July 31, 1908. She was the first child born to the union of Clarence Wilt and Dillie Echard Wilt.
Surviving are a daughter, Jeanne Moad Beatty; nine grandchildren,; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Early in her life she was employed at the American Viscose Corp., Cluett-Peabody, F.W. Black Hospital and was a caregiver for numerous home-bound people in Lewistown.
As a young woman she responded to the call to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Serving Christ became her life's vocation as she taught the Holy Scripture to children and adults. She practiced the Christian disciplines of fasting, intercessory prayer, study, tithing and sacrificial giving.
'Truth is not taught, it is caught.' This proverb was affirmed in the life of Stella Wilt Moad. She has heard the Father say, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of my kingdom.'

Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.
Born March 7, 1980, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Shawn D. and Faye (Bilger) Fisher, of Allenport, R.R. 1, Mount Union.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by paternal grandparents, Edwin and W. Marlene Fisher, of R.R. 1, Mount Union.

Shawn graduated from Mount Union Area High School and the Huntingdon County Career and Technology Center in 1998. He graduated with high honors and was voted outstanding student in metalworking at the tech center.
During his high school years, he worked at both the Weis Market and McDonalds, in Mount Union. After graduating, he was employed by Fulton Precision Industries in McConnellsburg, at Food Lion in Greencastle, and J.L. Wald in Huntingdon. For the past year he has been working at J.L.G. Industries in McConnellsburg as a CNC machinist.
Shawn loved his dog, Jasper, and his new Ford Mustang.
He was an outdoorsman. He especially loved to hunt and fish, and was a member of both the Newton-Wayne and Trough Creek Valley Sportsmen's associations.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Revs. Gordon Ross and Dwayne Walker officiating. Interment will be in Mount Nebo Cemetery, RD 1, Shirleysburg. Friends may call 9-11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
