Thomas N. Logston

Pastor emeritus of Republic church

The Rev. Thomas N. Logston, 71, of PennCraft, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at his home.

He was born September 28, 1932, in Connellsville, a son of John and Violet Townsend Logston.

The Rev. Logston was ordained in 1964 and was pastor emeritus of First Christian Church of Republic.

His first wife, Foresta Flouhouse Logston, is deceased. His second wife, Glenda Brown Logston, survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Mark Logston of Washington, Carl Logston of New Derry and John Logston of Columbus, Ohio; three stepsons, Michael and Bradley Lawson, both of Baltimore, Md., and Cory Lawson of Brownsville; 11 grandchildren, Bethany, Brandon and Jessica Logston, and Sara, Austin, Julie, Christian, Darin, Michael, Rebecca and Stacy Lawson; two sisters, Shirley Washabaugh of Bedford, Ohio, and Darla Dugan of Streetsboro, Ohio; and three brothers, Harry of Macedonia, Ohio, Jack of Warren, Ohio, and Gerald Logston of New Springfield, Ohio.

Donald Steele McCardle

West Virginia Institute of Technology graduate

Donald Steele McCardle, 48, of Boca Raton, Fla., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, May 22, 2004, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, of complications from a stroke.

He was born January 14, 1956, in Washington, a son of the late Earl N. Sr. and Ellen Steele McCardle.

Mr. McCardle was a 1974 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1978 graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology with a degree in mining engineering.

As a member of Carpenters Local 2274, he worked extensively on bridge renovation on Interstates 70 and 79 and other major construction projects in Pittsburgh.

Mr. McCardle loved to cook and was a 1997 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Culinary Arts.

He was a member of Church of the Covenant in Washington.

Surviving are a son, Jonathan McCardle of Delmar, N.Y.; two sisters, Martha Ellen McCardle of Washington and Susan Baran of Harwich, Mass.; and a brother, Earl N. McCardle Jr. of Hollywood, Fla.

Ruth Marie Mullner

Member of Resurrection Church, Brookline

Ruth Marie Mullner, 89, of Whitehall, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, in St. Clair Memorial Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

She was born March 26, 1915, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of Joseph and Rose Marie Schratz.

Mrs. Mullner was a member of Resurrection Church in Brookline.

She was dedicated to the church and her family.

Her husband, William Mullner, is deceased.

Surviving are two daughters, Ruthann Mihlfried of New Castle and Maryalice Galiardi of Pittsburgh; two sons, Ronald Mullner of Florida and William J. Mullner of Lone Pine; 11 grandchildren, Ruthann Rebich, Michael Mihlfried, Brian Mullner, Robert Mullner, Laura Galiardi, Nicholas Galiardi, William J. Mullner Jr., Bradley Mullner, Natalie Mullner, Ronald Mullner and Audra Mullner; and two stepgrandchildren, Samantha Beecham and Amanda Beecham.

A son, Robert Mullner, is deceased.

Frank Gordon Orndoff

John S. Rechichar

Mr. Rechichar retired from U.S. Steel Donora Works and owned and operated John's Bar on Main Street, Monongahela.

Deceased are four brothers, Martin, Paul, Steve and Frank Rechichar; and a sister, Mary Fetkenaur.

Emma Battistone

Ellsworth Hotel owner from Scenery Hill

Mrs. Battistone was Catholic.

She worked at Duncan Miller Glass Factory for seven years. She and her husband later co-owned Buff's Hideaway Bar and Ellsworth Hotel and Restaurant combined for more than 40 years.

Paul R. Mr. Bernhart was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesburg.

He was a Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and was a member of an American Legion post in Washington.

Mr. Bernhart was a member of Waynesburg Masonic Lodge 153 F&AM; and Syria Temple.

He worked for Michael Baker Engineering for several years. For 38 years, he and his wife owned and operated Eleanor Style Shop in Waynesburg and retired in 1986 from Thom McCann shoe store in Waynesburg.

Mr. Bernhart enjoyed playing golf and attending his grandchildren's activities.

He was the last of his immediate family.

Deceased are a brother, Tim Bernhart; and two sisters, Kate Weppler and Maggie Stearns.
