He was born June 9, 1927, in Sayre, Okla., a son of James Romaine and Gracie Emmer Ragle Duffer.
Mr. Duffer was the owner and operator of a gas station in Arizona prior to moving to Washington.
He enjoyed fishing, reading and watching Western movies. He was a history buff.
Mr. Duffer served in the U.S. Army during World War II and in Korea.
On June 9, 1982, he married

Surviving is his wife, Mary Hughes Maisa Duffer.

Duffer Jr. and Darryl Duffer, both of Spicewood, Texas; a daughter, Mary Gibson of Marble Falls, Texas; two stepsons, Stan and Christopher Russell, both of Lantana, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Joann Spitler of Fort Irwin, Calif.; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Margie Duffer; and two brothers Johnny Dean and Charles Henry Duffer.

She was a homemaker and a member of Roadside Chapel, Pleasant Grove.
She assisted with vacation Bible school and also with Bible release.
On November 19, 2002, she married
George Garber, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Kevin Duane Davis of Claysville; two brothers, John Byrd of Claysville and Henry Byrd of Washington; two sisters, Linda Martin and Susan Schneck, both of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two sons, Archie Duane Davis and David Woodrow Davis; and a brother, Woodrow Moser.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Waynesburg.
