Retired Mayview Hospital aide
Charles A. "Butch" Murdy, 52, of Canonsburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, December 6, 2003, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born September 15, 1951, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Mary Abruzzi Murdy and Charles R. Murdy of Washington.
Mr. Murdy was a lifelong resident of Canonsburg, where he was a member of St Patrick Parish.
He was a 1969 graduate of Canon-McMillan High School.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Murdy was employed for 30 years as a psychiatric aide at Mayview State Hospital in Bridgeville.
On October 26, 1986, he married
Susan Haught, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Charles E. and Michael S. Murdy, both of Canonsburg; a daughter, Christine Marie Murdy of Canonsburg; his stepmother, Edith Fee Murdy of Washington; and two grandchildren, Caleb and Kalyn Diesel.
James E. O'Donnell
Last of the O'Donnell triplets
James E. O'Donnell, 84, of Cross Creek, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2003, in Canonsburg General Hospital, as a result of a stroke.
He was born March 4, 1919, in Rea, a son of Leo and Bertha White O'Donnell.
He and his deceased sisters, Kathryn Bell and Betty Strazinsky, were triplets.
Mr. O'Donnell resided in Cross Creek for the past 63 years.
He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946 in France with the 2836th Engineers Petroleum Distribution Company. He received the European-African-Middle East Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
Mr. O'Donnell was a 26-year member and officer of Cross Creek Village Grange. He held office in Pomona Grange. He also was a member of Pennsylvania State Grange and National Grange.
Mr. O'Donnell was a member of Cross Creek Presbyterian Church.
He retired from Universal Cyclops in Bridgeville in 1977.
One of his favorite quotes was James Whitcomb Riley's "He is not dead; he is just away."
His wife of 63 years, Hazel Tuttle O'Donnell, survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; a son, James B. (O.D.) O'Donnell of Burgettstown; three granddaughters, Kelli Alvarez, Jamie O'Donnell and Tiffany Himmelreich; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his sisters, are two brothers, Hugh and David O'Donnell; and an infant son.
Margaretta Day Rogers
Founder of Parkinson's Disease support group was teacher
Margaretta Day Rogers, 81, of Easy Living Estates, New Stanton, formerly of 330 Allison Avenue, Washington, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, December 5, 2003, in Easy Living Personal Care Home.
She was born February 1, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of Leroy "Hank" Paterson, a well-known area football coach, and Sybilla Helen Drexler Day.
Mrs. Rogers was raised on the historic Day family farm in Prosperity. She had a lifelong interest in genealogy and the history of the pioneers.
She was a 1940 graduate of Washington High School and a 1945 graduate of Penn State University, with a degree in textile chemistry.
Mrs. Rogers taught school at Washington High School, Sagertown and Meadville Schools and John F. Kennedy Grade School in Washington.
She served in the U.S.O. during World War II and was active all her adult life in various organizations.
Mrs. Rogers was the founder of the Parkinson's Disease support group of Washington, and was instrumental in founding the Washington Art Association and Covered Bridge Artisans.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Washington, American Association of University Women, Daughters of the American Revolution, Washington Art Association and Martha Washington Quilters Guild.
She was married
to William L. Rogers, who Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died May 10, 2001.
Surviving are five children, Clarissa Addy of Maryland, Richard G. and Jonathan L. Rogers, both of Washington, Robert L. Rogers of Latrobe, and Mary Beth Polinski of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two brothers, Robert L. Day of West Palm, Fla., and Lawrence Day of St. Catherine, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren, Andrew Addy, Jennifer Harrison, Gabrielle M. Rogers, Douglas B. Rogers, David H. Polinski III, Phillip Polinski, Roxanne H. Rogers and Rebecca S. Rogers; and three great-grandchildren, George Harrison, Austin Harrison and Katherine Addy.
Deceased is a granddaughter, Mary Margaret Addy.
Laura L. Schultz

Mrs. Schultz was Baptist.
She had been employed for 35 years by Brockway Glass, Continental Can and Hazel-Atlas.
Mrs. Schultz enjoyed crocheting and flea markets.

Schultz Jr. and Erin Darr.
Deceased are seven sisters, Nell Spradlin, Julia Preston, Maude Jackson, Alice Roberts, Inez Davis, Kiturah Preston and Rose Preston; and three brothers, James Preston, Fred Preston Jr. and Robert Preston.

Mrs. Stilwell resided in the Berkshire Center nursing home for the past three years. She had spent most of her life in Jefferson.
She was a 1940 graduate of Jefferson High School and Penn Commercial Business School in Washington.
Mrs. Stilwell served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.
She and her husband owned and operated Stilwell Grocery Store in Jefferson for more than 20 years. Following the sale of the store, she worked as a secretary for Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority in Jefferson and retired in 1984.
Mrs. Stilwell was a lifelong member of Jefferson Baptist Church.
On February 14, 1949, she married
