She was born in Marble Head, Ohio, a daughter of Paul and Lucia DeGaetano Ruffa.

Her husband, Vito Galati, is deceased.

Surviving are four sons, Frank, Paul, Vince and Vito Galati; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Augustina Cosentino, Concetta Gianetta, Josephine Ruffa, Mary Folino and Lucy Kerestory; and 31 nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a sister, Catherine Meiner.

Peter Husarcik Jr.

Retired corrections officer from Jefferson

Peter Husarcik Jr., 63, of Jefferson, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, October 8, 2002, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg.

He was born June 21, 1939, in Mather, a son of the late Peter J. Husarcik Sr. and Susan Salva Husarcik.

Mr. Husarcik was a 1959 graduate of Jefferson High School and lived most of his life in Jefferson.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of American Legion Post 954 of Jefferson.

Mr. Husarcik was a member of St. Marcellus Roman Catholic Church in Jefferson and Waynesburg Moose Lodge 461.

He enjoyed golf, hunting and fishing.

Mr. Husarcik retired as a corrections officer from State Correctional Institution-Greene.

On July 13, 1963, he married Martha Zurca, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jeanine Henry of Carmichaels; two brothers, Rudolph and Edward Husarcik, both of Cleveland, Ohio; and two sisters, Mary O'Laughlin of Cleveland and Agnes Husarcik of Mather.

Deceased are a son, Peter Husarcik III; and two brothers, Paul and Joseph Husarcik.

Charles E. Large

Retired from USX Clairton Works

Charles E. Large, 68, of Monongahela, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, October 7, 2002.

He was born July 13, 1934, in Elizabeth, a son of Frances Joll Large of Ohio and the late Charles William Large.

Mr. Large retired in 1991 from USX Clairton Works with more than 40 years of service.

He was a life member of Forward Township Volunteer Fire Department and a social member of American Legion Post 949 in Dunkirk.

Mr. Large was a member of Pymatuning Sportsmen's Club in Linesville and American Russian Citizens Club and Slovak American Citizens Club, both in Monongahela.

His wife, Verona K. Large, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died February 1, 1998.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a son, Charles J. Large, with whom he made his home; two daughters, Lynn Mitchell of Charleroi and Kimberly Barker of Monongahela; two grandchildren, Ian and Erica Mitchell; a brother, Samuel Large of Monongahela; and two sisters, Dorothy Anthony of Ohio and Florence Dorwachter of Scottsdale, Ariz.

Deceased are a brother, George Large; and a sister, Beverly Hayden.

Anna Kmetz Mercur

Surviving are four sons, Michael Kmetz of Rices Landing, Delmer Paul Gibson Jr. of Virginia Beach, Va., Kevin Leroy Gibson of Fairmont, W.Va., and Patrick J. Gibson of Masontown, W.Va.; two daughters, Emma Jean Nixon and Karen Kay Gibson, both of Morgantown, W.Va.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a sister, Elizabeth Ray; and two brothers, James Edward Kmetz and John "June Bug" Kmetz.

William Oleski

Mr. Oleski was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Washington.

He was a 1979 graduate of Washington High School and loved to play softball.

Mr. Oleski was an avid bowler and a Steelers and Pirates fan.

He was employed as an aide at Western Center.

Mr. Oleski served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are two sisters, Kathy Paul of Canonsburg and Lisa Hazy of Hampton, Va.; a great-aunt, Katherine Spicer of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, his twin, Steven Oleski, and Stanley J. Oleski III.

Sophie Marie Slak

Formerly of Joffre

Surviving are two sons, William Slak of Pleasant City and Charles Slak of Hookstown; a daughter, Kathy Harper of Pleasant City; and six grandchildren.

She was a 1932 graduate of Waynesburg High School.

For many years, Mrs. Tennant helped care for elderly family members of several Washington families.

Deceased are two brothers, J. Alfred and Charles I. Phillips.
