Houston resident enjoyed dartball
William S. Livingood, 67, of Houston, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, February 9, 2002, in Donnell House of Washington Hospital.
He was born June 15, 1934, in Houston, a son of William L. and Eleanor Mendenhall Livingood.
Mr. Livingood served in the U.S. Army and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Houston.
He enjoyed playing dartball and was a member of Canonsburg/Houston Church Dartball League for more than 40 years. He also was a member of Canonsburg American Legion, where he was sergeant at arms.
Mr. Livingood was an officer and dartball player for Canonsburg Senior Center. In addition to dartball, he also enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, bowling and watching sports.
On October 17, 1964, he married
his wife of 37 years, Vivian Edge, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Eleanor Martin of Houston; a brother, Richard W. Livingood of Claysville; two grandchildren, Nicole and Jason Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
Patricia A. Logson
Patricia A. Logson, 59, of Eighty Four, formerly of Washington, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died at 10:36 a.m. Sunday, February 10, 2002, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington, after a lengthy illness.
Arrangements are being handled by Hummell and Barnhill Memorial Chapel Inc., 350 West Chestnut Street, Washington.

He was born January 14, 1913, in Washington, a son of John and Barbara Tucci Mastrangelo.
Mr. Mastrangelo attended Washington area schools. He worked for Tri-State Engineering until his retirement in 1977.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Washington and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 in Canonsburg.
Mr. Mastrangelo served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theater, where he received a Purple Heart.
Surviving are a son, John Mastrangelo of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter, Barbara Jicomelli of Canonsburg; two brothers, William Mastrangelo of Washington and Tony Mastrangelo of Havertown; a sister, Mary Astbury of Bradenton, Fla.; a granddaughter, Tina Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Joseph Mastrangelo; and two sisters, Evelyn Ippolito and Theresa Gaw.
Charles R. Metz

He was born August 15, 1925, in Metz, W.Va., a son of Arthur Graves and Jessie Lee Brock Metz.
Mr. Metz attended Church of the Nazarene, Waynesburg.
He was self-employed as president of Metz Contracting Inc., a private land developing company, Penn Sherman Corp. and Cindran Inc.
Mr. Metz had lived on his family's farm in Somerset Township since 1935.
He was a member of Scenery Hill Alliance Club, Covered Bridge Region Antique Car Club and Golden Pheasant Gun Club.
In addition to farming and antique cars, Mr. Metz enjoyed big-game hunting in Montana and Wyoming.
He was an advocate of health through nutrition.
Surviving are his wife, Eileen Nutt Metz; a son, Randy Metz of Bentleyville; two daughters, Linda Metz of Bentleyville and Cindy Chamberlain of Stevensville, Md.; and five grandchildren, Jarod Trew, Randy Jr. and Phillip Metz, and Lawrence and Savannah Chamberlain.
Deceased are three brothers, Kenneth, Randolph and Eugene Metz; and a sister, Marjorie Burgan.
There will be no public visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville.

Mrs. Paroda worked as a nurse's aide and in housekeeping for Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, for more than 16 years.
She was a volunteer at Washington Area Humane Society for seven years.
Mrs. Paroda was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church, West Brownsville, for more than 50 years.
She was married

Deceased is a daughter, Joan Paroda.

She was born August 17, 1921, in Washington, a daughter of Charles Lee and Mildred Frazier Read.
Mrs. Simpson had been employed by Washington Hospital and was a retired division manager for Sears.
She was a member of Friendship Community Church in Washington and a former member of Bethel Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Simpson was a member of Sears Retirees, Washington High School Class of 1940 Reunion Committee, Arms Club and Lagonda Homemakers.
She actively participated with her husband and other residents of Lagonda with Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and the formation of Little League baseball in their neighborhood.
Mrs. Simpson was a former real estate tax collector for South Franklin Township and was a Democrat committeewoman.
She was a member of the TC Players, who entertained musically at nursing homes and personal care homes throughout Washington County, and she was a former secretary for Thomas Campbell CARE Association.

Simpson of Washington; a sister, Alice Louise Cunningham of Washington; a brother, Philip Nelson Read of Hookstown; 23 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Charles Edwin Read; a granddaughter, Kelly E. Patterson; a nephew; and a great-grandson.
No public visitation will be held. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Sisters of St. Francis, c/o Jan Chehovin, 412 Country Club Road, Washington, PA 15301. Arrangements are being handled by William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.

He retired from Mathies Coal Co. in 1972 after working in the coal mines for 37 years.
Mr. Volkar was treasurer of the SNPJ lodge in Hackett. He was a member of St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray, and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Antoinette (Ann) Volkar; six sons, Martin A., Patrick J., Joseph F. and Theodore C., Kenneth G. and Vincent B. Volkar; a daughter, Antoinette Fitch; two sisters, Freida Nurnberger and Lorraine Jones; a brother, Thomas Volkar; 18 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Clara Cicci and Helen Thropp; two brothers, John and William Volkar; and a grandson, Craig E. Volkar.
